Scotty's Boutique Hotel

⚠️Please don’t stay at this place and make the same mistake I did. The owner was a rude old man. He listed the hotel on Agoda saying there is a 24 hour front desk and luggage storage, but after I booked and asked if I could drop off my luggage before check-in, he simply said “no” and then ignored all my further messages. I contacted Agoda to cancel the booking, but he refused and even claimed that he doesn’t work with Agoda?? As a result, I had to carry my suitcase around the city until I can be able to check in. During my stay, he refused any of my requests, such as asking for fresh towels. There was no one at the front desk the entire time, everything had to be handled through WhatsApp. The room was on the 3rd floor with no elevator. It was spacious, but the furniture was very old and dirty. I didn’t expect a 5-star experience for this price, but honestly, you can find much better options in Sofia. If he had allowed me to cancel, I would never have stayed here. He lied about the 24-hour front desk and luggage storage, and his attitude made everything worse.

I think it was the most pleasant interaction with a hotel. It's not really luxurious, but the rooms are very clean and larve. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is again very large. The host is a very welcoming person. The location is very good and the price was insanely good.

The staff was kind. The hotel was close to most of the popular sights. However the room was not the best. The mattresses were not very clean, the beds were almost one with the floor. The bathroom was ridiculous. The sink wouldn’t work without activating the shower head. So you couldn’t wash your hands without getting your shoes and pants wet

We have arrived Sofia so late and we had no problem with check-in. However, the room was really dirty (yellow dirts and dusts everywhere) and old. It was no problem because we only stayed couple of hours. When we check-out at 11, there was NOBODY in the reception. I texted them if we can leave our bags or not. NO ANSWER. So I kept the keys in order to come back later to pick our bags. At the evening we came back if there is someone, but NOBODY. I really needed to go to toilet and couldn’t find it in the building and there was NOBODY so I had to use the toilet of the room in a very clean way. So a lady came and got pissed of because I used the toilet after checkout time. I understand her anger because she has to clean it once again. She could be more understanding. I really used it very clean and the room was already dirty so she better should clean it again :) She kicked us out without any hospitality which I travel a lot and never seen a rude receptionist. Therefore I never suggest this unprofessional and dirty place you can find somewhere better. You need to put SOMEONE in the reception and learn some hospitality&manner. Stay positive weather is nice enjoy the city 😉

Now this room was cheap and close to Sofia centre. I think that's probably the best thing I can say about it and it goes downhill from there. Staff go home by around 8.00pm so no one is there to greet you (or resolve problems) if you get there after that. First big problem... the aircon didn't work at all. Not ideal on a hot evening and so we had the windows open all night and were kept awake by noisy trams thundering past as well as aeroplanes flying right overhead until quite late. Minute TV on the wall with very low volume sound. Flooring very grotty and worn, one lamp over the bed mangled and bent with mains wires exposed, ceiling fan on the shower room was just a dark gaping hole. Loo was leaking from somewhere and trickled slowly into the central floor drain. No food/breakfast available though you are five minutes from plenty of restaurants. The bed seems strangely low down and the mattress was just foam, no springs. Smoke detector missing from ceiling. Cracked/broken glass top on the window sill. Hole in the wall plugged with a dirty tissue. The word "Boutique" implies small but sophisticated and maybe it was a nice place once but it's now sadly neglected.

Horrific. The room smelled extremely strong of cheese (I convinced myself it was emmental and not other unpleasant things). The bed didn’t have any planks underneath and I fell down as soon as I sat on it. As soon as I got up, I booked another hotel and got out of there practically running. I would only recommend it as a Halloween activity or a Scape Room. Maybe as a prank to some friends as it is very cheap.

Amazing location, in the middle of eveything. The attention was great, the room was nice, clean, good lightning and very spacious. Recommend 100%

We had booked a double room with a balcony . We arrived late at night & used the code provided to enter the main reception . The rooms were named & numbered but ours didn’t match . I think as we arrived late they gave our booked room to someone else & we got the room that they’d possibly rejected ! 1) no balcony ! 2) broken bed , we had to pull the mattress onto the floor ! 3) dirty bathroom ! We did try to contact owner on arrival but no reply ( it was late so maybe they were sleeping ) After very little sleep we checked phone & they had already cancelled our booking for the 2bd night without any response to our queries /concerns about the room . We left at 6am to find another place to stay & luckily we found a really nice hotel to continue our stop over in Sofia .
