We stayed here on our NC500 road trip and were not disappointed. Its just a shame we arrived late and the weather was so horrendous that evening we couldn't even venture outside. Nevertheless, this "fishing lodge" was super cosy and clearly relished in its fine experience for those wanting to partake in fishing. Whilst the owner said 60% of its trade was groups who specifically came to fish, hospitality was clearly key in providing this delightful stay! Dinner was traditional, refined and perfect, the bedroom was comfortable and cosy and the lounge and bar area, set with roaring fire and plenty of whisky, was beautiful to spend time in and relax. We would thoroughly recommend and one day I very much to hope to return specifically for a fishing trip!

Location would get a six. Fantastic views, just a stunning location. Hotel is very comfortable stay very friendly and helpful. We had a dog so stayed in a garden room which was amazing, the dog was certainly very happy about it. The gardens were well kept and there was an easy walk down to the beach from them. Food was of a very high standard. Weather was very changeable while were there, even in August they had an open fire!

Lovely , lovely, lovely!||The bar and restaurant area was beautiful. The real fire ( needed in August!) was very welcoming to sit and have a drink by.||We had the meal in the restaurant and the venison loin was superb. Breakfast was equally enjoyable and they even had smoked, streaky bacon.||Dawn was exceptional and she really made our night there memorable. ||Fishing lodges ( number 23) were really smashing as we had a little sitting room to sit in and chat before we went to bed.

Wonderful highland hotel, great staff and service, personal touch from Richard and Fiona, the family who own and run the hotel. The staff couldn't do enough for us, the bar has a fabulous selection of whisky, Lesley the barman is very friendly and helpful. One of the many highlights is the food. It was absolutely top notch nosh. The biggest highlight is of course the fishing. Some of the best wild fishing I've ever had. I cannot wait to return. Thank you!

We stayed for a week while walking and birdwatching. I was delighted to find that although upgraded in comfort, the hotel is still the same friendly place I enjoyed 25 years ago or so. Our room (no 4) was very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water, much needed after a full day's walking. No television, which to us is an advantage! We enjoyed our full Scottish breakfasts, packed lunches and dinners. There are four choices of starter, main course and desert on the menu which changes daily, and we enjoyed all that we had. There is no piped music in the dining room, and there was a good buzz of conversation of satisfied guests. The lounge and bar are comfortable, and with chilly weather I enjoyed the open fire in the main lounge, and could see others did also, relaxing with books on the wetter afternoons. Other guests were a mixture of fishermen (the hotel specialises in fishing, with over 300 lochs available for guests to fish), walkers and birdwatchers, and shorter stay guests doing the NC500. People chat to each other: it's a convivial place, aided, I am sure, by the excellent range of whiskies behind the bar. It was a very happy stay for us, and I hope we'll return. Lovely place and Very trout fishing orientated. Excellent local information from hotel. You are made very welcome from arrival to departure. Three course meals all week were excellent quality. Good wine selection. Hearty breakfast menu and Service was good. Fine range of drams in the bar. For those with full wallets...the hotel tends to be cashless though you can use actual money to square your bill when leaving. Would definitely come back again.

We just love the Scourie Hotel. We have been many times now and we have never been disappointed. Richard, Fiona and family are the perfect hosts and do everything to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible. This also applies to the excellent team in both the bar and dining room who are both friendly and professional. The food was delicious and the pre- and after-dinner drinks in the bar great fun with conversation amongst the guests often coming back to the amazing fishing available through the hotel. A wonderful place for fishing but also for discovering this absolutely stunning part of Scotland! We will be back. :-)

Fantastic hotel, so relaxed chexking by the owner super lovely chap. Room brilliant as silent as a night can be, bed massive. Bar and lounge were so relaxing and Les the bar man a fixture for many a year couldnt have been any more helpful local gins and ales recommended. Dining room staff are so polite and attentive without being on top of you. Food cooked to perfection as welcoming to singles couples or families lovely to see. Breakfast was a great start before the next leg of the NC500 wee mad road. You won't be disappointed if you book here. Im not a fisherman but you can tell the heritage and how well youd be looked after if you were. Thanks M&J
