SCP Hotel Colorado Springs (Colorado Springs, Colorado) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Culturally speaking, Colorado Springs might not be the first place you would expect to find an eco-friendly boutique hotel, especially one whose initials stand for something like Soul Community Planet. But this part of the Front Range certainly has the natural beauty to justify it, and the SCP Hotel Colorado Springs, after a thorough renovation of a two-level Sixties motel, doesn’t go halfway — this is as stylish and fully realized a boutique hotel as we’ve seen within 500 miles or more." - Tablet Hotels

This hotel is great for groups and parties that have persons with disabilities and service dogs. They have a cute little area for doggies. Dante and Rose at the front desk are super sweet and they truly care about their guests. We came for a girls trip in the hotel made us feel very welcome and appreciative of our business. The staff has always kind and super helpful. Mr. G on the ground crew helped me look for my lost wallet that was in my bag where I couldn’t see it. They really care about making the guest experience wonderful. I’m so grateful to United airlines for putting me here on a layover one time and discovering this cute little quaint hotel with an amazing Mountain View.

I had the best checking experience I've ever had in my life. Adam welcomed me as enthusiastically as I have ever been welcomed. He then showcased his personality which was outstanding. The hotel is huge. I have been here two days and I keep finding new things every time I walk around. The only things missing in my room, which is huge, is a place to hang clothes and plastic cups. I would definitely stay here again.

Really enjoyed our stay here. First time in a hotel with the dog and she was very comfortable especially at the dog park they have. Loved the bar and unique lounge. Also if you have an EV the charging is free which was a huge plus for us. Very affordable too. Adam who was working at the front was very friendly. We will definitely come back when we visit the springs.

I found SCP Colorado Springs online and loved the commitment to sustainability and hospitality. I arrived to find a motel like structure on a busy road and initially had first impression concerns but I LOVED my stay! Of 7 nights in Colorado, I had the best night's sleep at SCP Colorado Springs. Spacious room, funky and inviting lobby, options for working out and a whole room for yoga! Books, games and rock painting all were available in the lobby and my welcome glass of kombucha was delicious. All the staff were pleasant and welcoming and the location was very convenient. Great value as well.

This hotel has a few things going for it- including its commitment to the environment and helping others- but also things going against it. First, the staff are extremely friendly, and the vibe in the lobby/community area is hip and relaxed. The commitment to being eco friendly and such is evident. But, at its core, this hotel is a spiffed up motor lodge with a huge but sparsely equipped gym, a windowless, somewhat soulless yoga area (though appreciated!), and clean pool constantly surrounded by traffic noise. In general, this place makes me happy for the 5 min I’m in the lobby and sad the rest of the time. ||The room: we stayed in a room on the “300” level in the old motor lodge section (I’m calling it that without actually knowing if that’s the case). It faces east so the blackout shades on the only two windows were very helpful and did their job. But those were the only window coverings. So, in the morning if you want natural light, you also have to expose yourself and your room to the world. Some sort of additional translucent curtain or shade is needed. ||The room has no rug (I prefer that) but given the stucco walls and the way it’s decorated, the lack of a rug makes it feel more sad. (My husband does not feel the same way- he likes the room). There is a good amount of space to spread your stuff out and there are shelves to put things on. There are only three hangers to hang clothing. There’s a fridge. Lighting is adequate to read by. The bed seemed clean but the box springs are exposed and looked a bit dingy. It was mostly comfortable; the mattress pad was a bit lumpy. The pillows are not standard or king sized- they’re square! Super strange choice. It is easy to control the temp in the room using the climate controls. There are unlined garbage and recycling bins. But, there’s no plastic-bag-lined bin in the bathroom for waste like sanitary products. I’m all for reducing plastic waste. And yet, this bothers me. ||The bathroom is the big issue for me. There’s no fan!! And the door opens inward and you cannot open it all the way so it blocks access to the tub/shower when open. (Most room photos I could find on Trip Advisor show the sliding barn-type door. Ours did not have this.) The shower is fine- good pressure and temp- but feels like it’s out of the 80s with the countertop-like siding they put into it (shown in photos). The counter space on the sink is good, but it takes up so much space that the whole bathroom makes me claustrophobic. ||Breakfast was maybe my biggest issue. For a health- and eco-conscious place, having only carbs and sugar for breakfast is frustrating especially before going out to hike. The pastries are mediocre and there’s no protein! When I was there, most of the bananas were not ripe and they only had red delicious apples (not my favorite). They have breakfast burritos for purchase, but I would’ve appreciated a hard boiled egg. Coffee was good, though, so that’s a plus. And they compost. Sprout Market is near by car- stock up on bars and such there. ||I appreciated the water bottle filling station. But I would not prefer to stay here again.

We stumbled upon SCP Hotel after a frustrating start to our trip. We had originally booked another hotel in town, but upon arrival, it was filthy and located in an area that felt completely unsafe—with people loitering in the parking lot. We canceled immediately and began a desperate search for a clean, safe, and reasonably priced place to stay for one night. After calling around and finding that most hotels either couldn’t accommodate our family of five or were charging over $500 a night (often with poor reviews and sketchy surroundings), we were exhausted and discouraged—until we found SCP. They offered us a great price on two adjoining rooms that gave us a lot of space. The kids were blown away that they had thier own room. From the outside, the hotel has a modest, almost motel-like appearance. But once we stepped into the Commons, we were blown away. The space is modern, warm, and welcoming with a unique industrial-rustic aesthetic. It had something for everyone: 🎨 A rock painting station (the kids loved seeing their creations displayed later on the fountain outside) 🍸 A free welcome drink for each adult at the bar 🎬 A movie projector 🎱 Pool table 🧘‍♂️ Meditation room 🏋️‍♂️ A huge gym 🏊‍♀️ A large outdoor pool 🕹️ Cornhole and other games The connected rooms were comfortable and clean, perfect for our family. While the complimentary breakfast was simple, the coffee and muffins hit the spot. Everyone on staff was friendly and accommodating, making the entire experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. If I had to point out anything, I’d say the property could use a bit of fresh paint in spots—but it’s clearly a hotel that’s evolving and improving, and I have no doubt it’ll only get better. We absolutely recommend SCP—not just because it saved our trip, but because it’s the kind of place every city should have: affordable, family-friendly, and full of soul. We wish we had more time to stay and enjoy everything it had to offer.

On my gosh. What a gem!!!! My daughter and I were supposed to check into an air b n b and we walked in and it was NOT okay for us. So I went online and found this place super last minute. Jacq at the front was an absolute delight. I love a free beverage upon check in as well! The vibe was so wholesome and welcoming… the plants, the decor. And our favorite: a rock painting station! The beds are so comfortable too! Will absolutely return!

I stayed at SCP for one night. While the outside left something to be desired in terms of esthetics, it was beautiful inside. The lobby is nicely done with games and pool table. The bar is beautiful with a nice selection of cocktails. The room was clearly remodeled, clean, and very comfortable. I did find it strange there was no garbage can in the room. The staff were super friendly. I get the sense from the surroundings, trash, and homeless encampment that this hotel may not be located in the best part of town. It was perfect for my one night stay. I can't say I would choose this hotel for a longer stay simply because of the location.
