This was our 2nd visit to Scrub Island Resort since July 2024. Our Deluxe 1-BR Suite overlooking the marina was beautiful, comfortable and well maintained by the Housekeeping Staff! Transport service to North Shore Beach and by ferry to and from Trellis Bay was efficient and courteous! Ramona at One Shoe Beach Bar and Junior on the Ferry always provided excellent service with a “Can Do” attitude! This IS a Beautiful place!||Sadly though, I have to agree with several other Reviewers who discovered complacent if not lackadaisical attitudes toward guests in the area of hospitality and restaurant/bar service! Apparently hiring is done on a basis of urgency to fill staff positions with hopes of training them afterwards! This IS NOT WORKING!! Also, the multiple extra fees that show up on the final check out statement that are not revealed during the booking process is just wrong. (Daily Resort Fees and Daily Room Service Fees when we never ordered anything from Room Service is hard to understand). Sure, I CAN accept the 20% SVC CHG on all Restaurant charges to be split among the food service staff, but this seems to only serve to facilitate a mediocre attitude among the staff who deal directly with the guests! Not sure what the answer is ~ perhaps bringing in Mel Robbins for a weekend of coaching in the offseason.||I’ll probably not be back unless I hear of more JOY in the staff interactions with the guests…”Let them!”

The staff at the resort is good, but the front desk is difficult to communicate wth and is not terribly attentive. The restaurant and other staff are good, nice and courteous. The resort facilities are fairly tired and need a refresh, in my opinion. The facilities are nice, but additional programming would help. Some of the advertised programming, like an organized hiks and the yoga sessions were none existant and the resort had no way of accomodating those requests. The fitness ceter wwas tired and unkempt. Given the nature of this resort and the resort fee, this was upsetting and disappointing. The food quality was great. The spa was beautiful and the staff were great when it was not too busy, but when they got busy, the attentiveness and quality of care slipped. The North beach is gorgeous, but sadly, is not swimmable, as there is no sandy area to walk in and the depth is lacking. The beach by the main resort is also difficult to enter, but at least once in the water, it is much more swimmable, although small and not terribly picyuresqe. The north beach is a far better place to go, but the difficulty in being able to swim there is a major disappintment. Finally, the rooms should be better equipped with wine glasses, corkscrews, and the like. It would be a nice touch.

We stayed at Scrub Island in June 2025. It was the 7-night of a 10-night bareboat charter, so we stayed on the dock. This gave us access to the pools, restaurants, marina store, small grocery store, and even the gym. Shakudo greeted my family of six at the dock. He was a fantastic resource, helping us get the boat safely in place and introducing us to all of the amenities. Of all the dockmasters we've interacted with, he went out of his way to make us feel welcome.||This is our third time, over 10 years staying at this facility. They are an oasis in the middle of the trip. ||This time, we had to get two family members to the airport the following afternoon. A great free shuttle boat from the Scrub Island dock, right over to the airport.

I'm not on the property yet; this will be my second time. It's breathtaking! This time I want to write about the Spa. I had the pleasure of speaking with Arun, who corrected my online booking error by creating a new request for the right date and time. He was a pleasure to speak with; he took his time to understand my issue. Arun displayed excellent customer service. I'm looking forward to spa experience because I know it will be special.

60% of the staff are asleep at the wheel. The other 40% are holding the resort in place. The breakfast is sad at best. I felt that I've had more choice at a Marriott Courtyard. It really was a poor and sad breakfast. |We ate both the casual restaurant and the fine dining restaurant. I could have probably sailed a boat to Virgin Gorda, eaten and been back at my table for how long it took to be served. The service is far too slow for a resort that markets itself as top notch. This is a very average resort that needs an overhaul. I wish that I could write a better review as our villa was cute and adorable but again overpriced. |However, there is one amazing staff member, a gentleman from Bali. He brings some life to the report and he is an incredible staff member - he is definitely a part of the 40% of staff working to keep the resort in business.

I have been to Scrub Island three times. The location is great and the rooms are lovely, but the staff leave a lot to be desired. It might have to do with the automatic 20% service charge they apply to every single thing automatically. There was one exception, the staff at the restaurant Cardamom were fantastic. But the front desk and staff at Donovan’s (the pool bar and restaurant) were rude and unhelpful. The staff at the pool swim up bar treated you like you were a nuisance. And upon checkout, there were three people at the front desk who watched me pick up 3 backpacks and 2 rolling suitcases to bring to our boat... Not only did they not help me with my luggage, they didn’t even offer to hold the lobby door for me. Great location but some of the worst service I have ever received much less from a resort that holds itself out to be a high end facility (certainly from a price standpoint).

We stopped here on a sailing trip and stayed in the harbor. Absolutely fantastic place. Pool was amazing and the food was 10s at donovans and cardamom. Melo the harbor master is great. He helped us get safely into our slip. Listen to the man. He knows what he is doing. After secured he gave us the lay of the land. Pools bars food and Melo made this a 5 star stop.

beautiful spot. I’ve been here several times first time. I’m actually staying on the resort. I usually come and sleep on my boat and enjoy the food and chef service of my private boat. This is the first time like I said staying on Scrub. Towels by the pool can be nonexistent at times and there’s no sense of urgency to get you towels. Tips is included on all meals so Service is definitely lacking. There’s no sense of urgency. i’ve been here 11 days and I’m coming back with more family in July. I hope they can correct these issues.
