Sé Boutique Hotel

This was the last hotel we stayed in durring our 22 day vacation and we absolutely loved it. Very charming. We were able to get a room with a window overlooking the alley. Not a great view, I kind of feel for the neighbors across the way. But we didnt spend much time in the room anyway. The glass doors to the bathroom and shower was different, but we are good friends so it was fine. Could be super fun with a significant other!! The rooftop bar was very cute. Again, lots of charm. The breakfast was thourough. Coffee was amazing! The People who work there are nice, professional not stuffy, like many other hotels we stayed in. A quality place.

This is a hotel full of character. The rooftop bar is a wonderful place to view Funchal and see the sunset over the horizon. The live music is good. The breakfast was of a consistently good quality. Not so good was the noise from the locality, often continuing late into the night. The effectiveness and friendliness of the staff was a bit variable too.

Loved Madeira as a whole, the locals take a lot of pride in maintaining their island and work incredibly hard to keep everything beautiful and working. This hotel really reflects that as well! Not only is it in a wonderful location for walking around Funchal with a excellent landmark of a church nearby making it easy to find our way back to, its proximity to the nearby square meant we could park our rented motorbike a lot closer than we would have been able to had we been driving a car. The rooftop bar was also such a perfect way to wind down before bed and any staff we encountered were very helpful and really went out of their way to ensure we had a great time during our stay. I think our only (very minor) qualm was that we didn’t have a window in our room because we were on the inner most side of the building so we got the big vent thing in the middle. Obviously not every room is like that and it wasn’t a big deal for us BUT if it’s a deal breaker for you just be sure to book a room with a view 🙂

We stayed for four nights at SBH and had a wonderful experience. The room was spotlessly clean and well-equipped with great amenities. The staff were fantastic—always helpful, friendly, and incredibly kind and playful with our baby, which made us feel especially welcome. We were greeted with complimentary drinks on arrival and even received a thoughtful bottle of bubbly the evening before our departure. The location is excellent, breakfast was delicious, and overall we couldn’t have asked for more. We highly recommend this hotel.

My partner and I were given an upgrade to a junior suite which was a nice surprise! Everything was extremely convenient during our stay. There was an underground garage to park our rental car in, they took our laundry, staff gave countless great recommendations of where to go and what to do, they had beach towels upon request, and the breakfast was a wonderful start to each day. I wish all the places we stayed were like this hotel as it was cute, clean, and full of friendly people!

As a solo lady on her first visit to Madeira choosing the SE Boutique Hotel was an excellent choice as it was very central to everything. The room was spacious with a large shower and toilet area the hand basin was in the bedroom part but it wasn’t a problem, my window opened internally into the hotel but the way the building was built it let in lots of air. I found all the staff very friendly and helpful and the amount of choice at breakfast in the green room was amazing. I loved the decor and the rooftop bar was just something else with the most fantastic views of Funchal. The evening meals were the best I’ve had on a holiday and the waiters were very attentive to everyone’s needs. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for something out of the ordinary as it is one step beyond the run of the mill ones.

Wonderful location near cathedral. Hotel rooms are quite modern and kept very clean. Breakfasts were good, with lots of choice inc. warm options. Roof Top Terrace bar is lovely, albeit Room 407 (underneath the terrace) was a little noisy when function on, but they don't go on late! SE Boutique's staff were incredibly helpful especially when we had to book an extra night at no notice!

We absolutely loved this hotel! The staff are so friendly and really go above and beyond to provide excellent service and hospitality. The breakfast was delicious. The decor is absolutely beautiful and the rooftop bar was a very special bonus. The beds were very comfortable also, everything was clean and quiet. The location was also amazing, a short walk to a ton of restaurants and attractions, transit and the ocean. Would highly recommend!
