Sea Breeze Lodge

One of our favourite places to visit in the northern gulf coast/ Vancouver Island region!! Great quiet getaway in the winter, pet friendly rooms so we were able to bring both our feline friends along for a two day adventure! Fully functional kitchen to be able to bring our own supplies as most restaurants were closed during the off season. Plenty of firewood for the in suite fireplace, cozy bed, couch and shower/bathroom. Spacious kitchen and dining area, we stayed in cabin 5 with a waterfront view. Short flight of stairs or the option of a ramp if needed. Decent for quiet and privacy. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful, almost excited to have us there 😁 Thank you for a wonderful stay and great memories!!

Can there be a 100 plus star rating? From start to finish Sea Breeze Lodge blew our expectations out of the water. We had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at their facility and wow, it was incredible! The location is breathtaking, staff were friendly and eager to help and the food... well I let's just say I am thankful that my wedding dress was stretchy so that I could eat a lot of it! If you want an incredible wedding, you need to book here! Highly highly highly recommend!

We had our wedding at Sea Breeze Lodge and we can not say enough about this venue, nor can our guests. The pictures for this site do not do it justice! It is an absolutely breath taking location with amazing views of the ocean when you wake up in your cabin (They call them cabins but I have never seen cabins this nice). The staff were amazing: start to finish they were available anytime we needed them over the phone during the planning of the wedding. Days that we were onsite they were never hard to find and made us feel like we were the only reason they had come into work that day. Our day of coordinator and bar tenders were incredible and made sure we were always looked after and that all our guests could not be any happier. The food is beyond amazing and even if you are not having an event there but you are on the island, you need to go for a meal at their restaurant! We can not say enough good things about this venue and the people who make it run so smoothly. If you are at all on the fence about what venue to choose, you need to make this site your top choice! Beautiful lodge with gorgeous views and grounds. We dined at the restaurant as well it was wonderful! Sadly we stayed in one of the studios (#1) which is attached to another unit. Unfortunately it was extremely loud and could hear EVERYTHING our neighbours were doing. One other thing is tons of spiders in the room. They were falling from the ceilings. If you don’t mind noise and spiders this would be fine. Would definitely come back but would book 1bd cabin for some privacy and quiet.

We went on a Wednesday night for the Italian night buffet dinner for my sister and her husbands anniversary dinner. The location and views were absolutely stunning which made us decide to go there for dinner while on vacation for a week on Hornby Island. The menu sounded very intriguing and we were excited to enjoy a dinner there, however we were very disappointed. The food wasnt what we were expecting and was not worth the $43 per person for the buffet. I would have paid maybe $20 a person for the quality of food we were offered. I guess we had high expectations and was expecting a fancier presentation. The tiramisu was hands down the worst dessert I've ever had. It was so watery. We also sat at the table right beside the door where everyone went in/out feeling every step as they walked by as the boards on the deck moved. Our waitress brought us a drink and seemed nice but that's all we seen of her while there other then paying at the end. The kids had a blast enjoying all the activities that are available for kids to enjoy while on the resort.

Sea Breeze hosted our wedding, and they made the event exceptional. The quality and selection of the buffets was excellent, with each meal being better than the last. This food could rival the best places in any BC city. The venue is ideal for a wedding and the rain plan is as good as the sun one. The cabins vary with some being new and others being more quirky and rustic, but they are all very comfortable. The staff are what make Sea Breeze stand out for me as the best wedding venue I've been to. Jack, the lead bartender, was incredible and prepared the best French 75 I've ever had. The other staff were friendly and went out of their way to make our day perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to stay as a guest in the future, I would definitely come for dinner again, and I don't plan on getting married again but if I did it would be here.

Poor service, watered down beverages, over-priced small buffet—chicken pot pie flavor was great but pastry wasn’t cooked, also found a sharp 1.5” long thyme stick in it. Won’t go back. Update: I posted this review while waiting for our bill. I had showed the thyme stick to the kitchen and was given no apology. They get one point for taking the $32 meal off my bill.

Arrived to enjoy a tea and dessert with friends 10 minutes before the restaurant opened. Was welcomed by an employee who expressed her annoyance at our presence, we were also completely ignored by three other employees in the waiting area. We decided to find a other place to spend our money due to this cool and unfriendly welcome. Will not go back.
