Sea Cottages of Amelia

We adored our stay on Amelia Island and the Sea Cottages were perfect for our little getaway! This place goes above and beyond the expectations we had. Super pet friendly, close to the beach, and the cottage was perfect. It was comfortable and had enough amenities to make it an easy stay. The staff was so sweet and the property was lovely! We can’t wait to come back in the future!

Had a great stay at the Sea Cottages of Amelia. The studio room was spacious and clean, check in was easy with the Key App link they sent as a text message, and the young lady in the office was very friendly and helpful. It is 1 block from the beach and they provide carts you can borrow and a hose/shower area you can rinse off yourself and beach stuff. Restaurants are a close walk as well. The overall cottage area is very cute with native plants and little decorations around the landscape. We will definitely book again. We do not have a pet, but many other guests did, so that is a plus for pet owners.

We had the greatest time at the Sea Cottages! We enjoyed the access to the beach, outdoor showers and proximity to other things like stores and restaurants. The beach was a quick 5 minute walk if you don’t carry too much! Everything was clean and our needs were met! Our room was simple and had just enough of everything to allow our stay to be convenient but not over the top. We also appreciated the hospitality The Sea Cottages showed to our dog (and many other furry guests)! I would recommend staying here to anyone who wants a safe, clean place to lay their head at night while enjoying time outdoors during the day.

We had a great time here. Super quaint and quiet. Our room had pretty much anything you needed. We cooked breakfast everyday, but we ate out at the great local restaurants around. Short walk to the beach and a cool dive bar the locals hung out at. Sea Cottages allows you to bring pets, and a few neighbors had them, but we never heard anything from those who did. Like I said, very quiet there.

I attended a function in Amelia Island on August 23rd 2025 and I stayed at Seaside Cottages. I have never been so impressed with accommodations in my life of travels. The cottage I was in was so quaint and clean and so well maintained. It absolutely was a blast staying here. Beach was in close proximity. Restaurants live music. I would highly recommend if your visiting anywhere nearby and need a place to stay. Seaside Cottages is the best. Looking forward to coming back very soon. Outstanding Staff and great prices.

We were in cottage 1, the location of the cottages is amazing. The cottages are an 8 minute walk to the beach, and they have beach carts you can borrow which was so nice. Check in was easy, and we really appreciated having both a card and app to get into our room. It was very clean, and we had extra linens and blankets which was so nice. However, the cottage is very musty. I thought it smelled like stale cigarette smoke, my husband says just musty with air fresheners. Either way, if you’re sensitive to smells then be aware. Also, the beds are awful. We put the kids in the bedroom and we stayed on the pull out couch. Both kids got terrible sleep and complained the bed was too hard. The pull out couch was definitely worse. My husband had a spring in his back, and I had zero support on my side. I actually ended up with abdominal cramping and pain from trying to support my spine all night due to sinking. My husband said it reminded him of his bed in basic training. I would definitely suggest fixing the frame on the pull out couch and upgrading the mattress, as well as upgrading the mattress in the bedroom. We didn’t call or say anything because we were staying 1 night and were exhausted.

Family with pets who find it extremely difficult to travel which we understand that is our lifestyle choice but this place was extremely accommodating to the fact that we had a French Mastiff and absolutely loved the fact we had him there. They treated him like family just like all the other guest did. This quiet place less the a few blocks from the beach and excellent dining was absolutely wonderful and for all the people who were there and the dogs you would not even know there were people or pets. The rooms didn’t show signs of animals except for the little notes they left you welcoming your pets and leaving you a sheet for your pet to be able to lay on. All in all a place that makes your pets feel like part of your vacation.

We rolled into Amelia Island from St. Petersburg late in the afternoon on a recent Monday. Loved this place. There was only one cottage left and we were able to book quickly and smoothly over the phone by a 24/7 number posted next to the office (booking options online as well). The location was perfect, close enough (6 minute walk) to the beautiful beach to come and go as many times at we pleased. Quiet, secure, super clean, plenty of parking, near restaurants, and a great little front porch on which to read and enjoy the complimentary coffee after returning from the next morning's sunrise. Simple. Easy. Thanks for the hospitality. We plan to return.

We booked Sea Cottages of Amelia for an extended weekend getaway in February. The location is convenient to the beach and restaurants and about 8 minutes from the downtown Fernandina shopping area. We booked cabin 19, which was the first one on the left. The external cabins are cute, and parking area appeared clean and neat. They have a virtual check in and out system that is done with an app that locks and unlocks your room for access. That was a convenient feature. The rooms are spacious, and our cabin had a full bed and a sleeper sofa, a small table, a fridge, sink and microwave. We loved the location and convenience to the beach. They even have free carts to load up and walk to the beach with. It's about a three block walk from the room. The down side of the cottage rooms was the air conditioning units and humidifiers that left a slightly musty smell. The beds were very uncomfortable as well. I was so miserable by the second night I tried the sofa bed instead. It was no much better. The shower had hot water and the bathroom was roomy. Be back to your room early to ensure a parking space. We went to dinner and had to park in an overflow area when we got back after 8 pm.

Can I start by saying the ambiance of the outside is amazing and so lush and relaxing. It is a place for thought, reading or just simply relaxing. Interior: Basic and clean. Loved: kitchen area. Just quaint and efficient Sofa: a bit musty. Due the air moisture it was a bit offsetting. I just purchased a blanket from a local Walmart to throw over it. Bed: nice set up but very soft. Almost too soft to feel comfortable for me. Cleanliness: TOP NOTCH Cons: The close beach proximity causes moisture. I get it. I don't know if a dehumidifier would help the moisture in the air. I noticed tiny mold dots on the shade in my room. My cpap needed a full cleaning when I returned home. All in all I would be there again if visiting alone as the location to me is ideal and the guests are very respectful of each other. Try it.

Sea Cottages of Amelia is located in Amelia Island, FL and is literally one block from the beach. The location is perfect and convenient where you can simply walk to the beach. The cottages are very new and the studios are spacious. I liked the convenience of having the kitchenette for breakfast and the outdoor deck was really nice too, perfect spot for a morning coffee. The staff was super sweet, helpful and accommodating to our requests. We really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly return.

One word ROACHES! Only received a partial refund although we were only there for 10 mins! They refused to give a full refund due to some policy which should not apply to this kind of circumstance. We arrived after hours (PM) due to travel and had to drive around an unknown city looking for somewhere to stay.

We stayed this weekend 6/11/21 to 6/13/21 at this new set of bungalows, Sea Cottages of Amelia, after finding this gem just two weeks ago (someone must have cancelled last minute because there was only one studio available). After meeting the owners Glenn & Emily, we found out they've only be open several months and the place looks great (although they say there is still much they'd like to do adding to the beauty). The whole place is so cute and made up of individual cottages that are literally bungalows hidden under massive trees and connected by raised wooden decks and walkways. The grounds are already beautifully landscaped but as we were leaving Sunday morning (when I met the owner Glenn) he was adding a section of fruit trees and watering the areas. I can just imagine what this place will look like in a year or so as they start growing - I mean the place already looks great. The studio we stayed in was wonderful with all new appliances in a small kitchenette area, a nice bathroom, bed with an awesome custom headboard, couch, kitchen table, and large flat screen TV. Talking to Glenn, I found out the artwork in our cottage was all handmade by Emily and it's amazing. Even the the numbers above each bungalow were hand made and are individual pieces of art. Each one had a different local Florida flower protruding off the plaque, ours was the orange blossom. In any case, we give this place 5 stars. Not just because it's new and affordable, dog friendly, and by the beach, but because the owners are engaged and ensure your stay is wonderful!

Great location, short walk from restaurants and the beach. Rooms are clean, air-conditioned, well-decorated, and include a nice kitchenette. Small parking lot but more than sufficient parking spaces. These cottages are incredibly reasonably priced for what you get! I'd no doubt stay here again.
