A little cottage paradise tucked away in the trees, and a quick walk to the beach and some great restaurants. I love that they are pet friendly, perfect for a Dickens Festival family trip! The rooms have a mid-sized refrigerator, TV, microwave, sink, and dishes/ utensils - everything you need! The beds were comfortable, and the rooms are super cozy. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ideas for the rooms: * I'd love to see a mirror in the main part of the cottage for use if someone is using the bathroom. * Hooks to hang items next to the door would be great, and more places to hang towels/ bathing suits in the bathroom (maybe back of door?)

Wonderful quaint and clean cottage. I stayed in a duplex and loved the surrounding. Would sit on the chairs on the porch and watch the squirrels and drink my coffee or wine. Shout out to everyone who stayed Thanksgiving week of 2025 including their furry friends. It was amazingly quiet and everyone pleasant. Super quiet. Nicely located across from the Hampton Inn and close to places to eat and drink and the beach all less than a block. The island is small and most everything is 10-15 minutes away. Only thing and I didn’t ask for help so not taking any stars away- I couldn’t get the internet to work to watch tv but I had a hot spot and an ipad so no biggie for us. Plenty of free, parking in property and it was the best value on the island.

We had a disappointing experience during our stay. When we arrived, we were immediately hit with a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the unit, which made it uncomfortable. We also found ash on the sheet we used to cover the couch for our dogs, clearly indicating that smoking had occurred recently. The cleanliness of the space was another concern. The floors were noticeably dirty, there was liquid residue on the mirror in the bedroom, and the fridge was in poor condition. The overall feel of the place was less than clean, which made us uncomfortable. We tried reaching out to the owner to address these concerns but didn’t receive any reply. Unfortunately, after just a few hours, everything we had with us absorbed the smoke smell, and it lingered even after we left. We decided to check out early because we didn’t feel it was a suitable place to stay. We hope this review helps others make an informed decision about this property."**

We don’t like leaving bad reviews but being totally honest this stay was horrible. The exterior, parking and customer service deserves a 5 star. But the room smelled so heavy of Pine Sol it made our eyes water. We opened the windows and left for several hours. Upon return it was not as bad, but it still was terrible strong. My wife sat on the bed and it had a squeaky plastic mattress cover. The couch smelled like dirty feet. We placed a sheet over it to try and block the smell. We would never stay here again and we believe the pine sol was used to cover a smell of filthy furniture or animal smells. Lastly, the only privacy you get is with the blinds closed because it’s like staying in a fish bowl. We stayed in unit 3.

We only stayed 1 night. It was convenient and they take pets. But there is no direct area to walk your dogs to go to the bathroom. The room wasn't bad but the fridge and micro wave hadn't been dusted or wiped down for awhile. No dish soap for dishes, and no little bar soap for the shower. If we have to come back for business we probably would stay there again.

Beautiful, clean room with a comfortable bed. We stayed in a studio, but it felt spacious. The kitchenette was a bonus. Also within walking distance to the beach. Friendly and helpful staff. We were very pleased with the studio and will stay again. We told our cousins about the Cottages and they may want to join us. Enjoyed watching the sunrise at the beach on our departure day.

Overall all I enjoyed my stay at Sea Cottages of Amelia. The location was very convenient for me, walking distance to the beach and to some nice local shops etc. Check in and check out were made very easy without any complicated processes. The room itself was comfortable and had everything I needed. The major issue was the smell. The room had an incredibly strong smell of smoke. As if someone had been smoking in the room and then burned something while cooking at the same time. Initially I thought opening the windows would do the trick but by the second day of my stay I realized it was not going to get better. And unfortunately it was already too late by then, all of my clothing smelled so badly of smoke that moving to another room would not have helped. I ended up being very self conscious going out to see my friends because I knew I smelled of smoke. Ironically there are signs everywhere saying there is a $250 fine for smoking in the room, I don't think this warning helped because the smell seemed to be permanently imprinted in the furniture, towels, and sheets. I spent three days once I got home washing my clothing over and over to get the smell out.

We stayed overnight, for a special birthday celebration and what a greeting when we arrived. The cottages are so cute, clean and in a great location. We had our dogs with us also and they enjoyed all the walks and extra pets when employees were out during the day. We will definitely be back..thank you for everything! We enjoyed every second of our time here.

Yelp
We booked Sea Cottages of Amelia for an extended weekend getaway in February. The location is convenient to the beach and restaurants and about 8 minutes from the downtown Fernandina shopping area. We booked cabin 19, which was the first one on the left. The external cabins are cute, and parking area appeared clean and neat. They have a virtual check in and out system that is done with an app that locks and unlocks your room for access. That was a convenient feature. The rooms are spacious, and our cabin had a full bed and a sleeper sofa, a small table, a fridge, sink and microwave. We loved the location and convenience to the beach. They even have free carts to load up and walk to the beach with. It's about a three block walk from the room. The down side of the cottage rooms was the air conditioning units and humidifiers that left a slightly musty smell. The beds were very uncomfortable as well. I was so miserable by the second night I tried the sofa bed instead. It was no much better. The shower had hot water and the bathroom was roomy. Be back to your room early to ensure a parking space. We went to dinner and had to park in an overflow area when we got back after 8 pm.

Yelp
Can I start by saying the ambiance of the outside is amazing and so lush and relaxing. It is a place for thought, reading or just simply relaxing. Interior: Basic and clean. Loved: kitchen area. Just quaint and efficient Sofa: a bit musty. Due the air moisture it was a bit offsetting. I just purchased a blanket from a local Walmart to throw over it. Bed: nice set up but very soft. Almost too soft to feel comfortable for me. Cleanliness: TOP NOTCH Cons: The close beach proximity causes moisture. I get it. I don't know if a dehumidifier would help the moisture in the air. I noticed tiny mold dots on the shade in my room. My cpap needed a full cleaning when I returned home. All in all I would be there again if visiting alone as the location to me is ideal and the guests are very respectful of each other. Try it.

Yelp
Sea Cottages of Amelia is located in Amelia Island, FL and is literally one block from the beach. The location is perfect and convenient where you can simply walk to the beach. The cottages are very new and the studios are spacious. I liked the convenience of having the kitchenette for breakfast and the outdoor deck was really nice too, perfect spot for a morning coffee. The staff was super sweet, helpful and accommodating to our requests. We really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly return.

Yelp
One word ROACHES! Only received a partial refund although we were only there for 10 mins! They refused to give a full refund due to some policy which should not apply to this kind of circumstance. We arrived after hours (PM) due to travel and had to drive around an unknown city looking for somewhere to stay.

Yelp
We stayed this weekend 6/11/21 to 6/13/21 at this new set of bungalows, Sea Cottages of Amelia, after finding this gem just two weeks ago (someone must have cancelled last minute because there was only one studio available). After meeting the owners Glenn & Emily, we found out they've only be open several months and the place looks great (although they say there is still much they'd like to do adding to the beauty). The whole place is so cute and made up of individual cottages that are literally bungalows hidden under massive trees and connected by raised wooden decks and walkways. The grounds are already beautifully landscaped but as we were leaving Sunday morning (when I met the owner Glenn) he was adding a section of fruit trees and watering the areas. I can just imagine what this place will look like in a year or so as they start growing - I mean the place already looks great. The studio we stayed in was wonderful with all new appliances in a small kitchenette area, a nice bathroom, bed with an awesome custom headboard, couch, kitchen table, and large flat screen TV. Talking to Glenn, I found out the artwork in our cottage was all handmade by Emily and it's amazing. Even the the numbers above each bungalow were hand made and are individual pieces of art. Each one had a different local Florida flower protruding off the plaque, ours was the orange blossom. In any case, we give this place 5 stars. Not just because it's new and affordable, dog friendly, and by the beach, but because the owners are engaged and ensure your stay is wonderful!

Yelp
Great location, short walk from restaurants and the beach. Rooms are clean, air-conditioned, well-decorated, and include a nice kitchenette. Small parking lot but more than sufficient parking spaces. These cottages are incredibly reasonably priced for what you get! I'd no doubt stay here again.
