We had a great visit at this restaurant. We sat outside where we had views of the harbor. They serve wine and other drinks for those who don’t drink beer. They had a gluten free bun option for the lobster rolls and other items.

Google
The Sea Dog Brewing Company, in Camden, ME, has a great Happy Hour -- specials on beer, wine and mixed drinks. On a very warm summer afternoon, I had a "Ginger Rogers (Gin Collins)" -- or two -- in a Pint glass for $6 each. I sat out on the back porch, overlooking the Harbor, which was scenic, and peaceful. There was a good happy hour crowd that eventually became dinner service for families and other larger groups of diners. I love it here. Friendly service from conscientious and outgoing staff members. Kind and extremely polite local clientele in the off-peak hours. 5 Stars.

Google
We almost skipped this place because of the 3.9 review and I’m so glad we didn’t! It deserves a much higher rating! The local beer selection was great with a wide variety. We got the clam chowder, habanero wings, and jambalaya! The food was delicious, wings were cooked perfectly and had the right amount of kick! The Jambalaya was delicious and a great break from all the lobster we’ve been eating. Only reason I gave the food 4 stars was I wish the chowder was a little thicker, however it still tasted amazing! To note our server John was so nice and helped us make selections! He was the perfect amount of attentive and giving space to enjoy the meal! The other staff around us were just as nice and made comments on how they were happy certain dishes were back on their menu! If you like the beer you can also buy some to take with you (cold or not) for your travels! Would highly recommend coming here if you’re driving through town or stopping in Camden!

Always E.

Google
We were hesitant to try this place due to the reviews but it was really good food and service. The door and windows could have used a cleaning. The cole slaw was delicious but the turkey was deli meat not sliced turkey breast.

Google
We had an amazing experience here after hiking the beautiful trails in Camden! John was our server and very accommodating, helpful, and kind to us and our pup. We had the lobster roll and chili, and they were great with gluten free and dairy free accommodations. Would highly recommend and plan on returning next time I visit!

Google
Amazing harbor views paired with succulent food; Sea Dog Brewing Co. is a must stop in Camden! We walked downtown walked in sat right on the deck overlooking the harbor. Stunning views the whole family had a great time.

Google
First time at Sea Dog Brewery in Camden. It was a very busy Sunday afternoon during the art fair. It was nice to sit by the harbor. I ordered the crab salad and havarti on sourdough with sweet potato fries and my friend ordered the chicken wings. My friend enjoyed the wings and ordered extra sauces and said it was flavorful. I was not impressed with my sandwich. The crab salad tasted fine, but a bit bland and the cheese didn't do much to bring out the flavor. One of those menu items that sounds better than it is. The fries were good.

Scott R

Google
Stopped in for and ordered a flight, two mixed drinks and then two blueberry beers along with lunch. We had the haddock tacos, crab and havarti sandwich and the clam chowder. The food and drinks were great sitting out on the back deck. Purchasing merch and beer to go was a bit more challenging at the bar.

Yelp
Stopped in here for lunch during Labor Day weekend and was surprised that we were able to get a table on the porch: great view of the Bay! Plus there were a few dogs! Being from New England, I'd seen the Sea Dog brand for years, but didn't know they had a brewery/restaurant. Service was a bit slow, but our server was awesome. Very friendly and had good banter. I ordered the haddock sandwich, blackened (haddock is a must in Maine) and my partner ordered the hummus wrap. I enjoyed the sandwich; nothing too special but really hit the spot. Plus the fries were perfect. My partner thought the wrap was hearty and filling. It's not the best spot for vegetarians, but there are decent options. I don't drink beer but was happy that they had my favorite regional cider available: Downeast. My partner really enjoyed his local beer. Worth a stop while you're looking for a meal with a view!

Yelp
Beer like a blueberry muffin. Food for the tummy. Duhhhhhhhhh Service was so kind and had great banter! Made the whole experience and vibe that much better!!

Yelp
There was a wait if we wanted to dine in and eat in the dining area. However, we decided to just seat at the bar (no wait). It was fun chat with locals and other tourists at the bar. Our bartender was friendly! My husband tried some local beer made from local blueberries! He enjoyed it.

Yelp
Great location in downtown Camden that has outdoor seating. Not a beer aficionado but everyone around me enjoyed theirs. The beer flight was a popular option. The kitchen service is fairly slow - so plan on being there a while. We tried the haddock Reuben, mussels, Caesar with chicken, burger, and clam bellies. Food is good but nothing amazing that makes me want to go back for specifically. Take it for what it is - a nice spot overlooking the water where you can get a decent meal.

Yelp
It was very trying to find a place to park by the brewery. We parked a few blocks away in the rain . Enjoyed a blueberry beer in a can it wasn't available on draft to my disappointment. But the beer was was good didn't see anything else I wanted to try here.
google avatar

Barbara S.

Yelp
Stayed at Lord Camden Inn and this restaurant is pretty much across the street by the side. There's a bar and seating both indoor and an outdoor deck overlooking the water. The food was delicious and I had their scrumptious fish tacos two nights in a row. New england clam chowder was on point, creamy and delightful. The beer flight is fun and you can choose up to 6 different types of their craft beers. Our favorite flavors were the blueberry (they put real blueberry too) and blood orange. My daughter tried their caesar salad with grilled chicken which wasn't so great however she said the grilled chicken was good. Service is a little slow especially during dinner hours. Would return for the fish tacos!

Yelp
It's a nice place to stop and have a drink if you like their beer. The atmosphere is nice. The service was good and prompt. The beer itself just doesn't do it for me. Their food offerings were ok but we didn't end up eating here.

Yelp
A few years ago we tried Sea Dog and had a bad experience that included being served raw meat. We decided to try it again as that incident happened a few years ago. We still weren't impressed with our experience this time. The fries came out ice cold, the sandwich wasn't grilled enough, no one at the table ever got a re-fill of water because the waitress never checked on us. Overall, I just find the restaurant mediocre. The best part is sitting on the deck overlooking the harbor.
google avatar

Yelp
Not super hungry but wanted to try this pub for a drink and snack. It was rainy and the perfect stop after a walking tour of Camden. I ordered an amazing cider, strawberry in a can. Spouse ordered a stout, his go-to for breweries. Our waitress was young and knowledgeable. Very thoughtfully answered my many questions and then brought me a side of rice to soak up the yummy coconut curry from the mussels because I don't eat bread! Husband really liked the pretzels with beer cheese. Overall a great stop and would happily visit again when we are back in Maine!
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
Try the truffle fries with aioli. Flights was a great way to acquainted. Loved the Invader Pale

Yelp
Wanted to love this place because of the name and cool logo. The location is great. It's right on the harbor. The beers we ordered were very good. Then came the food. The high light was the calm chowder. It was hot and thick. Think of good potato soup here but with added clams. It was down hill after that. The nachos and Cobb salad were big disappointments. The chili on the nachos tasted canned. There was no sour cream. We had to ask for it. The guacamole looked old. The Cobb salad would have been ok if they remembered the dressing. Had to ask for it too. Bottom line, have a beer and skip the food.

Ken F.

Yelp
Beware of Happy Hour. Website says Draft Beer, Wine & Mixed Drinks $6. Only 1 beer, 3 mixed drinks. Asked bartender for well drink, assuming that should be on HH. Wife got a Pilsner draft. She doesn't say a word. Get the tab for $10each. Oh- and no dogs allowed at Sea Dig! -Hostess didn't want to let us in w/ wife's Service Dog, till she was told she had to. Food was good.
google avatar

Derek B.

Yelp
Beers were great. Apps were pretty decent by portions of chips/bread for the dips were high on dip amount with few chips/pitas. I'd visit here again
google avatar

Kiefer H.

Yelp
I got chicken and fries. Chicken was good but nothing that wowed me. The fries were clearly store bought and cold and tasted like ass. Service was poor checked us on once then proceeded to drop a plate and splat ketchup on my socks. And guess the price of my meal? 25 freaking dollars!!! For subpar ckickrn and fries. Not to mention it made my stomach hurt for hours. Do not go here!
google avatar

Yelp
My mother, son, and I went to lunch a few days before Christmas. The server was rude. The machine for credit cards went down and she suggested that we go across the street to get cash. I explained that my I didn't have my debit card and my mom's card was a credit card. She waived the card in my mom's face and said " you can still get money from this!!!" Well, no, she could not as she didn't have a PIN. The system came back online several minutes later. Rudest server I have interacted with in a while. Also, the nachos were microwaved within an inch of their life. Just a hard shell of cheese.

Jamie B.

Yelp
We waited forever to be sat with three other groups of people. No one was at the hostess stand and we all stood there waiting for someone to come greet us. It did take a long time to get food and we barely saw our waitress. My group went a long time without drinks. I had the turkey burger with a side salad. The burger was very good, but the salad was sooo tiny. The views were beautiful and the outdoor seating is nice. This place has great potential, but the service was very very poor.

Lucas H.

Yelp
Service was good but I paid 38 dollars for the worst lobster roll I've ever eaten. My friend only took a tiny bite of his and got it refunded. I probably should've done the same but I was hungry. Not trying to ruin a business but I would not recommend eating here
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
Joel the bartender was so funny and convivial. I got the blackened haddock tacos they were out of this world. My beer was great too. It was pretty busy but we got the end of the bar within minutes of walking in. We had a great time! Thanks Joel!

Christopher D.

Yelp
Last month went to sea dog in Conway NH had a great meal so today after a long day just wanted a beer and some pub food it wasn't busy so we ordered some appetizers and some beer the waitress was nice I ordered an app of whole belly clams and some bang bang shrimp my wife ordered a cup of New England clam chowder which was a disappointment my clams were without belly and very crispy they were slow and they screwed up my other app the bill was wrong the men's room was partially out of order and my wife said there was no paper in the women's room. coastal restaurant truly a disappointment.

Yelp
This place was good about 6/7 years ago. Now it's completely gone to crap. Food is less than basic and the staff and waitresses are RUDE. Do not waste your money in this plain crappy ass place. Mediocre at best - so many great places in this city- spend your money elsewhere.

Dawn R.

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner there last night .My food was very stone cold. My husband had the fried clams and he was up all night throwing up and sitting on the toilet. Very sick !!!! Don't eat there !!!!!

Yelp
We drove through this quaint town called Camden, and came across this brewery/restaurant. It was a gorgeous day to sit on their patio and have some of their brewed beers with some appetizer snacks to nibble on. The service was friendly. The food seemed a little more like "sports bar" food. The beers were tasty. The best part was the nice view of Camden Harbor. Don't forget to check out their store next door. I plan on sending a picture of my pups for their wall.

Andrey J.

Yelp
Friendly staff, good service. Great views. Mac n cheese is the best in town. 100% Recommend.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Went for lobster rolls and beer. The beer was great and the server was nice. We sat upstairs and the views were great. Make sure you ask what the market price is for the lobster rolls and what the up charge is for the sides. We were charged $38 for a regular sized lobster roll. Shocked when the bill came, we looked at other places around and saw that this place is charging at least $10 more than most places and was not worth the price. I have had better lobster rolls from Cousins Maine Lobsters in Nashville and that isn't even good lobster. Even their small ass stickers costs $4. Not worth the trip. Save your money and taste buds by walking further down the way and skip this place.

Yelp
Outdoor seating was great. Two of us got the fish tacos (grilled not blackened) and really liked them. Service was very good.

Yelp
Dear Manager at Sea Dog, if you exist. Been visiting your place every summer since it opened. This was by far our worst, and probably final, visit. Front desk hostess was unwelcoming and clearly frazzled. Telling everyone there is only inside seating, 5 parties waiting. She told us it would be 30 minutes for outside seating - then we stood for about 15 minutes and 2nd hostess showed up and said we could sit anywhere. ? So first hostess brought us to an inside table, where we could clearly see *at least* 10 open outside tables. Place was not crowded at all (I think I can guess why pfft). Asked if we could sit outside and she said "those tables need to be cleaned". I said that's fine we don't mind and she gave the table a wipe down in 2 seconds. Why are there 10 outside tables unused with a line of people being told there is no outside seating? There were also lots of inside tables free so why did we wait so long? Uh, wiping down tables after bussing is restaurant 101. Weird. Let me go on. Sat right by the railing on the lower level. Lovely view as usual. Waited 20 minutes for a server to even acknowledge us. Ordered, asked about Ice Pik tomato soup and waitress said "it's really bad". Listen, I appreciate the honesty, but like...maybe it shouldn't be on the menu then? Just a thought. Got our food...and thankfully food was delish, so it's not a kitchen issue. But your chefs are on a sinking ship, mayday! The "best" part...while we are sitting there trying to enjoy a lovely meal, FIVE TIMES, waitstaff on the upper level dumped water glasses over the edge right next to us - which is disgusting. Someone's backwash splashing by us 5 times, splattering me? Come on man. 5 times our peace got disturbed by a spittle water downfall? Surely you can do better. Our waitress said "they aren't supposed to do that but it's just water". ??? Um, ok. She was completely unconcerned. This is supposed to be a nice establishment in an upscale seaside town. I think you need to re-train your folks perhaps. Your staff clearly gives absolutely zero ***** about the establishment, their field of ***** is barren. And for the final delight, waitress slapped our bill down without even asking if we wanted dessert or a dessert cocktail, (I did, but, you lost out on that money from me)...again...restaurant 101 people. Sea Dog has gone so downhill. Asked for a manger as we were leaving and hostess 1 gave me the millennial stare then wandered off. Ten minutes later we gave up and left. Is there a manager even on site?? We'd normally visit numerous times during our Summer visit, but we will not be back this time. I'd say you are now on about the same level as or worse as the Applebees in our suburban town. Which is ..bad. I'm embarrassed for you.

Tamara N.

Yelp
Terrible! Went twice yesterday and unable to sit for happy hour so we left. Went back today and sat at the bar ordered 1/2 dz oysters at $18 and they were so small not to mention the mignonette was just vinegar. The blackened fish sandwich was chopped lol! And the Cajun tartar sauce was just jarred tartar, when asked the bartender went back to check and said they were out, ok so no Cajun seasoning to just mix in with the sweet nasty tartar you serve up? Ok so $115 later 1/2 dz oyster, 1 C chowder (decent), chopped fish sandwich, 2 beers, 2 prosecco - NOT WORTH IT

Dalton

Yelp
The food was great and the barmaid was terrific. We like to sit at the bar, so all was good. Otherwise, it would have been a lengthy wait to be seated at dinner.
google avatar

Shanna J.

Yelp
We added this as a specific stop on a road trip. While reviews were mixed, I know my husband loves breweries and I love local spots with a view. As soon as we walked into the less than half filled restaurant we were told that we could not be seated anywhere, but the bar unless we were eating. I said we would definitely get appetizers and maybe a meal. I then asked to be seated on the half full deck. She explained that we could not sit on the deck because while it was only half filled they weren't seating anyone else on the deck because there were not enough servers. We checked yelp again and found a great rooftop bar above a deli literally 3 doors down and right above the town waterfall, overlooking the beautiful harbor. Basically, poor service from the first second.

Yelp
Busy restaurant on a busy street in cute downtown Camden but worth it! Happened to Come in when it wasn't that crazy. Came here after a hike in August. Service was fast and food was tasty. Kid was tired so getting in and out was appreciated. Would return.

Harper D.

Yelp
I ordered the turkey blt with no Mayans I added avocado it was so good. Great service and their sweet potato fries were so good. Also they had Coke products and their Diet Coke was really good.
google avatar

Evelyn M.

Yelp
My friend and I were taking a road trip from Bar Harbor to Portland and we decided to stop on Camden. While we were in Camden we decided to have lunch and a beer as we stumbled upon Sea Dog Brewing. We loved it here. The beer was cold, refreshing and light. We sat at the bar and the bartender was wonderful. She was the manager of the location and took great care of us. We ordered the hummus and the blackened chicken wrap and they were both delicious. Probably one is the best chicken wraps I've had before. This location is by the water so if you the weather is nice enough you should sit outside. Stop by if you can. You won't regret it.

Paige H.

Yelp
Simply good pub food and beer! It isn't a seafood restaurant. Just a great brewery with good pub food and we had great service from our bartenders Joel one night and Adrian the other.
google avatar

Brandy H.

Yelp
We were a little worried upon entering even though it looked like it might be a decent place. The hostess seemed a little nervous but sat us upstairs with a nice view of the water. Tables are dirty, yuck. We looked around and saw several tables seemingly waiting for our food and that coupled with a server who took about 5-8 minutes to show up to our table had us more nervous. When we did get a server, we asked if there was any non-alcoholic beer and he said yes and that it was "Athletic" which we are familiar with. However, when he brought the cans and glasses over, we looked at the label as carefully as we could because it wasn't a label we were familiar with. The print was so tiny. But it tasted good. PUNCHLINE: about halfway through dinner and drinking it we discovered it had 4.2% alcohol in it. This was very upsetting for us and kind of ruined the rest of the meal. The server took them off our bill but defended the restaurant and continued to say that was what they sell as non-alcoholic. We both had the fish and chips and it was decent. We were just astonished that we were served alcohol when we made it very clear we wanted non-alcohol beer.

Amy H.

Yelp
Great waitress but the food was awful. Ordered the steamed lobster which came with cold fries and a tiny plastic quarter cup of coleslaw. The lobster must have been frozen then thawed then served. Disgusting. I'm mad the experience in such a beautiful town was this bad. Also, there was plenty of indoor seating we were told only outside seating available. Normally this would have been ideal, however, it was 100 degrees out. I do not recommend spending hard earned money to an established that takes little care with their service. Don't get me started on the beer which is why we went in the first place.
google avatar

Gina F.

Yelp
Friendly service, great food and beer. We enjoyed Blue Paws blueberry ale because the added tiny blueberries made it taste so much more amazing. Had wings with blueberry bbq sauce which were also delicious!

Holly M.

Yelp
Don't overlook this place! Friendly service and amazing food! Try the crab rangoon dip and the fried chicken sandwich. Everything we had was very good!
google avatar

Jim T.

Yelp
Cool little spot in the Camden harbor. We popped in for a beer while driving through to northern Maine. The beer was solid, nothing spectacular and the location was right near the water. Downtown is very busy so keep an eye out for parking. They did have a bit of a fruit fly problem, recommend not sitting near the taps if sitting at the bar. Cool merchandise store around the corner if you want to bring home some apparel.

Juan

Yelp
I was hesitant with the current 3 star review...but my service was attentive and my burger & beer was tasty. I'm not a fan of the "sports bar" vibe...but minor complaint.
google avatar

Amy F.

Yelp
We came just in time for happy hour during May. The blood orange seasonal draft tastes better than most beer (if you aren't a beer drinker). I am a beer drinker and loved it too.
google avatar

Molly C.

Yelp
Meh. The beer was really good but the food was not great. At the table we had the fried chicken sandwich, crab roll, and blackened fish tacos. Everyone said their dish was completely flavorless except the fish tacos. My friend was adding salt to his crab roll! This location is so cool out on the roof deck overlooking the harbor! If they could stop up their food game this would be a great spot!
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Excellent food at a great price! Lobster roll was better than most and priced better than Bar Harbor and most other restaurants we visited. Happy Hour everyday between 3-6.
google avatar

Meagan A.

Yelp
Food was decent. We ordered the pretzel appetizer and a burger and Rueben with Caesar salads and beers. Beers = good. Salads = meh - fresh lettuce would make them better. Burger and sandwich were decent! However, after spotting a child, no older than ten years of age, sitting at the bar, we asked the waitress for a table that is not around kids. Sometimes when adults who are spending money want to enjoy themselves, it's nice to be guaranteed enjoyment. There were some screaming babies in the restaurant but the host sat us in another room which was good. No less than ten minutes after that, the same host sat a couple with a baby right next to us... duh. The staff needs training on Maine law. It is illegal for a minor to sit at a bar. Training on ensuring customers aren't given exactly what they stated they didn't want would help as well. Although if the food was probably 3.5 stars decent, this review is a 2 star rating. Not cool to break the law.
google avatar

Mackenzie W.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at Sea Dog. The location on the water was cool, the beer was unique, and every staff member I interacted with was friendly and helpful. If you like dogs, this is a must-stop (the Sea Dog merch was really fun). We went around noon and there were very few people there, so we had our choice of seating. We sat on the outdoor patio, which I definitely recommend for the beautiful view of the surrounding water and boats. I got the Bluepaw beer (pictured) with wild blueberries and feel like everyone who goes here should try this. It was refreshing and not overly-flavored. We also got the Deep Stowage IPA, which was surprisingly refreshing for an IPA. They also had cocktails, mocktails, and wine on the drink menu. Stop by for good views, good beer, and good dog merch!
google avatar

Holly K.

Yelp
Average "bar" food, OK views (bushes cover most views of the lake), and slowwwwww service. We saw our waiter after 30 minutes of sitting down, and ALL of the tables around us, that were seated after us, got their food before us. And we were only 2 people. Waiter never checked in to see how the food was, or if we needed anything else, and we had to flag down someone else for the bill. On the upside, they allow dogs outside on the deck!! Not too much else to say about this place.

Heidi J.

Yelp
This was the only place open later on Sunday night. Great location and roof top casual eating overlooking the harbor. Nice waiters who try to please. We ordered 3 meals: lobster roll, cheese burger, & haddock sandwich. Food was typical for bar food. The lobster roll was actually very good, with lots of lobster and a very fresh roll. New England clam chowder left something to be desired. No flavor. I had high expectations for it being in Maine, but I make a better recipe at home. My husband ordered a Cesar salad that never came. Too many small hiccups: no sauce on fish sandwich, forgot to bring extra napkins (we asked) and no waters, and too small of ketchup cups. It seemed like the distance from the rooftop dining and the kitchen was too far to be convenient for wait staff. I would give it another try but with lower expectations.
google avatar

Andy M.

Yelp
Good food, good beer... but the service was terrible. The waitress was inattentive and unhelpful when it came to questions about the menu. To top it off, we were rushed out. She never once asked if we wanted another beer. Tourism keeps you in business.
google avatar

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
Was worried it wasn't going to be open on a holiday, but thankfully it was! We were promptly seated. The beer was great, the food was very tasty and arrived quickly. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.
google avatar

Marli M.

Yelp
Came in on a Friday night in June and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, not too bad. At the beginning of the night our waitress was helpful and attentive but as soon as our food came out she was no where to be found and we had to track her down just for our check. Which was extra annoying because she kept going to this table that had maybe the owner another worker at it. We ordered the brussel sprouts and the chicken tenders because honestly everything was quite pricey on the menu. The brussel sprouts were so good, crisp and flavorful. The redeeming feature of the night, well except the harbor views. The chicken tenders were honestly disgusting. How do you even mess up those?! Even smothering them in ranch didn't help. Overall felt like a miss for us.
