I have owned a few Sea Eagle inflatables through the years. The first kayak and raft I purchased were inexpensive and held up well, but started leaking at the seams, after a few years. I finally took the plunge and bought the much more expensive 385 fishing kayak. First, I would like to say that it was a really nice kayak for an inflatable. Customer service is usually good, and Jerry the tech guy is really helpful. Now the bad: after 4 years the seams are mysteriously coming apart, and are leaking. Repairing the seams is not recommended by Sea Eagle. I did try, and one seam held, the other did not. At this point i would not feel comfortable voyaging out with the kayak. I guess this is subjective, but this is an 1000 dollar kayak , which is a lot of money. They do offer a 3 year warranty on workmanship, but after that you are not covered. Maybe, others have had better luck with their kayak, for me, 4 years of use is not worth the cost, and I will invest in a hardshell kayak.
