Sea Gypsy Village Resort & Dive Base

We just got back from Sea Gypsy’s and we’re already thinking of when we might be able to return. The owners and staff are incredible - accommodating, engaging and genuine, they’ve created a super special place that our kids loved and they adored the team. We really enjoyed family style dinner, the kids activities were varied & fun, but there was something great about them getting mucky and muddy making their own fun. This place is rustic and that is 100% the charm and adventure. No WiFi, limited food options, fan only rooms BUT right on the beach, sea breeze at all times, great & well-stocked bar, every board game you can think of, jungle mini-treks, body boarding, attentive staff - for us, it was awesome!

Sea Gypsy is a truly special place! The staff were so very kind and could tell that they were very passionate about the place. We felt a world away from Singapore and instantly felt relaxed being surrounded by ocean, nature and warm hospitality. If you're thinking of going, don't hesitate and just do it! Would love to come back!

This was our second Halloween weekend with Sea Gypsies, and once again it did not disappoint! We spent the weekend with friends, they came with their young daughter, and we brought our 16-year-old twins, and everyone, from kids to adults, had an absolute blast.||Our two-room family hut was simple but comfortable, with a bathroom, fan, and beautiful views over the beach and sea. You can drink the water as it is from a well. The resort is very eco, which we loved. After a couple of cocktails under the stars on Friday evening, we went to bed.||Saturday greeted us with sunshine, clear blue water, and a relaxed breakfast. The children’s activities were well-organised and full of laughter, while we enjoyed the waves. Snorkelling and diving were available — and having done them before, I can vouch for the vibrant coral and colourful fish just off the beach. Lunch was delicious (special mention to the perfectly crispy chips!).||As dusk fell, the magic began. The Halloween adventure led by the fabulous staff was pure theatre, a comical haunted story brought to life, complete with witches in caverns, goblins by the fire, pirates arriving by boat, a mysterious bride in a hut, and even chocolate treats at the end. The host popped out of a giant hole in the sand dressed to the nines. It was creative, funny, and brilliantly staged, the children were enthralled, and the adults couldn’t stop laughing.||The evening BBQ was plentiful and tasty, and then the party kicked off , music, dancing, fun and cheeky fireworks.||Sunday brought a slower pace: a leisurely morning, one last swim, a lovely lunch, and then our return on the speedboat. There are giant wooden games, badminton and boardgames to play.||Sea Gypsies offers a simple, natural, and genuinely welcoming escape from Singapore, full of heart, laughter, and the warmest staff you could hope to meet. We’ll definitely be back again next year, if not before. Thanks everyone!

Sea Gypsy is awesome. It’s genuinely relaxing and full of happiness. The location is gorgeous with a still and warm sea. The staff are the friendliest and most attentive we’ve experienced anywhere, we were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived. For children, it’s a dream. They can explore, play and adventure in complete freedom and safety, with brilliant activities and entertainment led by Richard and the team. Real childhood experiences away from screens. Getting there from Singapore is very easy, we had a comfortable arranged taxi to the jetty and a short boat ride straight to the resort. We’ll definitely be returning as soon as we can.

We spend an amazing week at the resort in October 25. The bookings team were helpful arranging our trip, and co-ordinating transport. The resort was wonderful, and the week was filled with fun activities, relaxed downtime, good family time, and amazing weather and beach time. Albin, Joyce, Noah in the ice cream bar and restaurant, Penelope and Jonny on the boats, and Vicky with the kids were so good, and the right balance of service/personality. The rooms and facilities are built with local materials, so little concrete. No aircon, but fans and electricity in the rooms were more than fine, with the cool sea breeze an amazing tonic. Well done guys, looking forward to our next visit.

Found Sea Gypsy searching on google maps. Pics looked great, but it's even better once you're there. Pick up from Singapore and back again was easy. Staff were all friendly and attentive (only us and three other guests:)|Richard grew up at and helped build the resort. He is still very passionate about it and loves sharing his little piece of paradise with guests from all over the world. |Loved the beach landing on arrival - felt very tropical island.|Food was incredible and plentiful. We played scrabble, read books, snorkelled (remember sunscreen) and walked to the village at the the bottom of Pulau Sibu. A perfect island getaway to relax and unwind. Found out there is a Dugong Sanctuary on the west side of the island!

Incredible place, there aren't enough superlatives to describe. ||The staff can't do enough for you. ||The setting is something out of a movie, spectacular views everywhere you look. ||Perfect for families looking for a relaxing or adventurous break, so much for kids to do. ||Excellent selection of excursions available. ||The evening kids club is a nice touch, the staff take them at 6 for dinner so we could enjoy watching the sun set at the bar. ||Everything has been thought of to the smallest detail. I cannot recommend highly enough.

We had an amazing weekend at Sea Gypsy Island! The staff are young, fun, and full of good energy — they really make the place special. The owner, Richard, does an incredible job entertaining the kids in the evenings so parents can relax and enjoy their cocktails. The whole place has a magical vibe — peaceful, natural, and far from everything. You truly feel a sense of calm and serenity. The food is homemade and delicious, which I personally loved. There are plenty of activities during the day (snorkeling, diving, walks, kids’ activities), or you can simply relax on the beautiful beach.
