My grandson loved the aquarium. I loved the beauty of the tanks and the colors of alm the aquatic life. Not sure why but it seemed you could see the colors of the fish, eels etc better. They were so vivid. The guides were very friendly and informative. It probably only will take 30 mins but it was worth it

Google
It was just ok. I know this place was going to be small but not this small. For the price, I found it really expensive and A/C doesn’t work through all the exhibits. Buying the Lego Land Discovery Center combo ticket using Groupon is a must if you want to save some money. I don’t plan on coming back in the future.

I visited with my 9-year-old daughter and 78-year-old mom. Based on other reviews, I had kept my expectations somewhat low, understanding that it's a small location and anticipating it might take about 30 minutes to walk through (which was pretty accurate). As a positive, we had no problems with crowds due to coming on a Thursday afternoon, and my daughter enjoyed the kids' playscape at the end. Unfortunately, we were overall very disappointed with our experience. The first part of the attraction had fully functional A/C, but as we got further in, we noticed it got quite warm/humid. Additionally, there was quite a pungent odor around the sea life areas. (Not sure if these are being cleaned properly?) The lights in some areas went off unexpectedly (possibly related to motion sensors? - not sure), and we waited a bit until they came back on so we could take photos. And other areas were not well lit at all so we ended up with dark photos. This was especially disappointing in the larger of the two underwater tunnel areas. What concerned us aside from that was that the tanks themselves largely appeared very cramped and inadequate for the sea life. The large moray eel, for example, did not have anywhere to actually hide; he could only fit halfway in and halfway out of an underwater pot (which looked sad). (See photo.) As a result, I would not recommend this attraction.

Google
Great for smaller children not so great for teens or adults wanting to do something fun. It'll take about 30 minutes to walk through everything. Nothing major just a small aquarium.

Bernadette De La C.

Google
Although, "Moray Eels tend to be territorial and stay hidden inside of caves and crevices as often as they can. They are comfortable as long as they can hide inside Of something.", this Eel couldnt hide anywhere in this tiny tank(tiny for his size, being that they grow up to 8 feet). This was so sad to see. (Pictured). Also, one of the tanks were very dirty. (Pictured with one of the rays that can only swim around in circles due to the small tank.) Barely room for most sea creatures to swim, with the tiny sea creatures being an exception. Jellyfish definitely need more room that that as well. Aside that, the air conditioning was very weak. It was very humid and hot throughout. It was cool to experience these creatures close up. But more sad. The gift shop is cool. I was looking for something with an eel but I was out of luck. There was creatures such as dolphins, squid, penguins, etc. even though they weren't there lol I wanted something Eel related to represent the giant Eel. Unfortunately, I made no purchases in there.

Google
Shout out to Akeyan for instantly spotting my animal loving daughter with Autism and spending time patiently describing all the animals in detail, making her day absolutely amazing! Thank you so much too to all of the mermaid team and especially the mermaid makeover who made her mermaid makeover experience so magical- tons of little girls we passed walking downtown all asked where she got her mermaid face! The team helping us interact with the sea stars and anemone were so friendly and patient too! I can’t believe we have lived here forever and never visited. We will definitely be back!!!

Jeremy J.

Google
The wife and I decided that since our autistic five year old son loved the Mazatlan aquarium in Sinaloa, we would try here while we are in town today. I must say that everyone enjoyed our time here and our son really enjoyed it. He loves the water and all of the animals in it. He also enjoyed the play area for children!

Google
This is a great place to go for toddlers, my daughter is 16 months old and loved it. The nice thing about Sea Life is that everything is at their height, so they can walk around and see everything inside the tanks. They also have two different-sized walking tunnels, one at young kids' height and one that is adult height. We purchased the combination Lego Land and Sea Life tickets, which are co-located. One elevator takes you up a floor to Lego Land and the other takes you down to Sea Life. We spent about an hour and a half in Legoland and an hour walking through Sea Life.

Yelp
SEA Life San Antonio is the perfect place to take your kiddos this summer! If you've never been here before, they are located inside Rivercenter Mall at the street level next to Legoland discovery center. The aquarium has a wide variety sea animals such as sharks, sting rays, seahorses, jellyfish and many more! They have these pretty cool tunnels where you feel like you are walking under water. The place is very educational and there are multiple screens where you can interact and learn more about each species. They also have a section where you can touch a sea start and anemona. At the end of the visit they have an indoor playground where the kiddos can play and run off all that energy before heading to your next stop. If you are local and plan to come more than once throughout the year, I would recommend checking out their annual passes. The one-day tickets are kinda pricey, but they are targeted to tourists which makes sense. Overall, I think is an awesome place to take your kids and stay cool during our hot summer months.

Yelp
The SEA LIFE San Antonio Aquarium is a fantastic destination for families and marine life enthusiasts alike. The aquarium offers a diverse and engaging array of exhibits, showcasing a wide variety of sea creatures in carefully curated habitats. The knowledgeable and friendly staff do an excellent job of educating visitors about the importance of conservation and the beauty of the ocean's ecosystems. Overall, a must-visit attraction in San Antonio that is both entertaining and educational. Pro tip: I booked my session using GetOutPass, where I get access to multiple local venues similar to GoCity. Use coupon code: sale1 for an extra $5 discount on top of existing promotions

Yelp
What a cute experience all of the interactive machines and touching spot with starfishes and more was super cute I'd love to share with you all to bring kids and enjoy
google avatar

Calista R.

Yelp
It's pretty expensive for what you get. It's definitely the smallest aquarium I've ever been to and it's beneath the mall. However, I think it's great for younger kids. The staff were very helpful and kind to tell us about most of the sea life. You can see jellyfish, sharks, sea anemones, star fish, eels, fish, and sting rays. Overall, not bad, just a little lackluster.
google avatar

Yelp
We saw that there was an aquarium while walking through the Rivercenter mall so we stopped in to see the sea life. I did not plan our visit in advance so we did pay more for admissions and we missed the feeding times. We did however make it in time to touch a sea star. I love aquariums and getting to see everything. I didn't expect this place to be huge considering its location. It was definitely worth the visit since we all enjoyed it. TIP: it's cheaper to purchase admission at least 24 hours in advance (to go on a Monday-Thursday excluding holidays and during the summer). If you bundle your admission with Legoland it may also come out cheaper. TIP: There is a play area for kids right where the aquarium ends and where they ask if you want to purchase a photo frame of the picture they snapped of you before you go in.

Yelp
We live in San Antonio; we've known "Sea Life" was at Rivercenter Mall for a while, but never had any reason to go. Just this past weekend, however, we met a friend (also a local) for something a little different (plus, we were looking to stay busy with our 15mo on a weekend). The first thing I can say is I was really impressed by the size and scope of this place. I love that you get on an elevator down to start, it's like you're going down in a sub into a "secret location". The place is beautifully lit, has decently sized exhibits, and the informational boards telling you about the species are all touchscreen (which, honestly still freaks me out a little bit after COVID). I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of sea life - there was only ONE tank that I thought looked dirtier than the rest and borderline unappealing. There were plenty of docents walking around and they were eager to tell you what was in the exhibit - particularly their names! It was kinda cute. Like I said, we had our 15 mo, so it didn't take us very long to get through the place, but I think you could easily spend an hour down here - which MAY make it worth the price. As a Bexar County resident, we got a break in the fee buying tickets online, but I almost fainted when my wife told me the regular price. I understand it must take a lot to house, feed, clean, pay docents, etc., but I'm not sure I would have been as impressed with my experience had we paid normal, non-resident pricing. All in all: worth doing at least once!

Yelp
So, I purchased a Legoland Discovery ticket, and entrance to this came with it. Honestly, I preferred this place more. It's not a big aquarium by any means, but it's perfect to spend a couple hours especially if you enjoy watching sea life and learning about them. It is easy to walk through as there is a path that you follow. My child loved it. With each exhibit, we made a game, and we tried to find each sea creature that was listed on the screen next to it. If you wanted to learn more about the sea creature, you can click on its picture to do so. There are employees that hang around and can answer questions. The one employee by the biggest tank on our visit with the sharks and turtle was so knowledgeable and informative. He asked if anyone had any questions, was great at answering them, and was good at pointing things out. At the end of the visit, you can purchase your picture if you took one at the beginning, and there is also a small play area for children. Overall, it was a nice place to spend an afternoon.

Yelp
I always see the signs for this place, but I could never find it! This was at the Mall in the Riverwalk. I never would have guessed all of these tanks being in there! We paid about $55 for two adult tickets. I wanted to go to LEGOLAND as well, but you must have a child to enter. This place is spotless! This has to be the cleanest aquarium I have ever been too. The decor of this place is fabulous! There are so many ways you can interact and learn about the animals. When you enter, they take a photo of you and give you a barcode. You can download the images for free! I have attached my photos, so you can get an idea. I really liked how the tanks were made. It gives you an up close view of the animals, so you can see them better. I'm the type of person who goes to every aquarium and get the experience! This place had quite a few fish I've never seen before! I learned about the trumpet fish and the crabs at Stingray Bay! When you get to the end, you can touch some sea urchins and coral. We did not do this because we lived in Hawaii, and saw this all the time in the Pacific Ocean. Overall, as an adult, I had a blast! I know kids would be super excited to see this as well. Have Fun!

Yelp
The grandkids enjoyed it and it was interesting but 100.00 plus dollars for two kids and two seniors over 65 - not worth the money-

Yelp
Beautiful aquarium with tons of things to see. My family and I had lower expectations coming here because of the thousands of other state aquariums we've been to in the past but this aquarium deserves the hype all on its own. The theming was excellent, tons of things to look at besides the fish. Interactive tablets, tables, buttons, etc for the kids to learn about the fish and change the colors in the tank. We really enjoyed the touch area, the kids had a blast giggling and learning about animals they had never seen before. Only complaint; you have to use the bathroom before you go down because there won't be any once you go down. The staff also wasn't as friendly here as they were next door at LegoLand. There is a mini gift shop at the end, they have plush animals, key chains, tshirts, etc. Overall great family experience today, can't wait to come back.

Yelp
As part of our visit to Legoland we also took in the Sea Life San Antonio Aquarium. It was really a nice exhibit with big aquariums for the amount of sea life they had in them! They have one big enough that you can walk under a tunnel that is part of the aquarium and look up at the Sharks, Rays, Sea turtles, and other fish swimming overhead!!! It was a really neat experience and there are many aquariums with both fresh and salt water fish in them. It was a really nice experience for not only our 7 year old, but we loved it too!!!

Yelp
Thank you Yelp, this was one of the best places to visit. It is beautiful inside, interesting and my daughter and I got to see the workers feed the stingrays and fish. The walk under glass bridges were the best. Lots of places to take pictures. RECOMMENDATION: Go, visit Sea Life at River Center.
google avatar

Yelp
Thanks for a great time Veronica and Max. You were funny and very helpful. We will be back to visit

Yelp
Small aquarium in the mall next to Lego land. We bought the group package which forces you to goto legoland first. This Takes maybe 40 min to walk through and explore. There's not much info about what's in each tank but it's a nice peaceful walk. There was absolutely no one there but us on a Saturday afternoon which was nice. At the end you can touch sea anemones and starfish and the kids can play in the play gym then hit the gift shop. Not much variety of sea life but setup was nice. There's sharks, sea turtle, various fish , seahorses.... Shrimp and lobster. Got me hungry for fresh seafood
google avatar

Alexa J.

Yelp
My kids had a BLAST! Worth every cent! Make sure to check ahead for the Mermaid Encounter schedule.
google avatar

Todd B.

Yelp
If you are going to Legoland, you can get the combo ticket for $13 extra to go to SeaLife. It was worthwhile to pair them together, but it wouldn't have been enough to make a whole trip for this. Maybe if you were at Riverwalk and had some extra time. They only sell a certain amount of tickets a day and has been selling out, so book in advance online. The exhibits were well maintained. The place was clean. It just had smaller and fewer exhibits then most bigaquariums. There was one interactive display kids really like that they could have spent 20 mins there if there wasn't a line of people behind us. Kids had just as much fun at the play area at end as the rest of the aquarium.
google avatar

Nicole G.

Yelp
This was a cute experience, in my opinion it wasn't worth the expense but it was an experience. It was cool, and very unique but it was very short and not a ton to see! Did my young kids enjoy yes the customer service was great, all employees were kind and patient. Would we go again probably not. Is it worth a trip yes at once! If you combine it with Lego land then it is worth it for sure!!
google avatar

Yelp
So finding the aquarium itself was a little difficult. I had to go into a Lids hat store to ask exactly where to go so that could be worked on a bit as there were no signs once inside the mall. We purchased tickets online (I recommend) by the time we got there at 1 they were completely sold out for the day. I didn't see anything for military discount FYI Our tickets came with a VIP QR code so before we began the actual tour, we had our photo taken (at the end of the aquarium you can purchase different photo packages. I chose the $30 package that came with 2 small photos, one in frame, a larger 3D photo in a frame and a little mini book with two photos inside) so be sure to hang on to your QR code for the end. The aquarium itself was very clean and each tank had a touch screen on the side to tell you about the animals inside. The social distance was great and people were polite to move out of the way so others could view the animals. The best part in my opinion wasn't until the end when you experienced the tunnel which was absolutely beautiful. They also had an area where you can actually touch certain animals like starfish so kids would really enjoy and the workers had great information/facts to give about them. All in all I definitely loved it. If you have kids, I think that it's more so for them because you can really drag it out but my boyfriend and I absolutely loved it and will go back every once in awhile. We got through it in roughly about 30 minutes ish

Yelp
I was visiting from California with my family. Wanted them to sea a sea turtle in person. They advertised a turtle named Guacamole everywhere. The first disappointment was the group photo that was a great photo, but it cut off my nephews head, the photographer even checked to make sure the pictures turned out before giving us the ticket. The second and most important disappointment was the fact that I did not see a sea turtle in any of the tanks. We hesitated at every tank waiting and nothing. For the price of $39.99 per person (and we had 6 adults and 3 kids), they should have it very obvious where the turtle is and actually have a turtle.
google avatar

Jose C.

Yelp
Brought my daughter here for a Yelp elite event. I'm grateful that the employees had a way with helping my daughter feel comfortable here. It's inside so it's not like you're walking outside all day. It's sort of a mini zoo, there are places to feed the animals, step in the cage with them, and even pet aquatic animals. I absolutely loved it as a parent and I'm glad just coming here tired out my little one, I will most defiantly be coming back! (Sorry for no photos, my phone restarted)

Jennifer M.

Yelp
My kids were fascinated the whole time even I was the fishes are well kept everything is clean

Steph J.

Yelp
We bought season passes to both Sea Life and Legoland which are right next-door to each other in Rivercenter Mall San Antonio Texas. I didn't know what to expect from sea LIFE, but it was a lot better than I expected, a lot more to see than I thought there would be. The fish tanks were chalk full of tons of fish, sharks, and sting rays. It was a total delight! At the end there was petting Star fish. Wearing masks is still highly recommended here but saw a 50/50 mixture of people with and without. There was a lot of space to roam. Oh, there's also a play area for the kids at the very end. I added a picture of the height limit.
google avatar

Wendy K.

Yelp
I thought the staff were very helpful and I liked the aquarium. It was very cute and had a lot to see there. We got to touch the fish which was pretty cool. Sadly we couldn't go to lego land.
google avatar

Jon B.

Yelp
Smells very bad, tanks are dirty and visibility of creatures was low. Waste of money, we should have used it towards sea world. Very disappointed
google avatar

Annesa G.

Yelp
Had a blast going through the colorful aquarium. Definitely would recommend if your new to San Antonio and looking for something to keep you busy and in the AC.
google avatar

Amanda A.

Yelp
Paid $25 per person for maybe 30 minutes through the "aquarium". Kids cost the same as adults. The elevator was broken and it wasn't disclosed to us, so we had to hike up 2 flights of stairs carrying the stroller halfway through. Maybe it's better on the weekdays, but it was way too crowded and people just pushed into everyone. No one had any common sense. You also have to pay $15+ for parking. I will never come back.
google avatar

Addy C.

Yelp
Kinda pricey but cool thing to do while visiting the mall especially for indoor entertainment

Elsa M.

Yelp
Don't WASTE your MONEY! Really! This place calls itself an Aquarium? Hahaha! the joke is on us!! More like a fish bowl. This is not an Aquarium like you would find in Atlanta, Seattle, Monterrey, or even Las Vegas. Those are aquariums with lots of different sea life to visit! They have huge tanks of water to see the sharks, dolphins, otters, jellyfish, sting rays, penguins, and seals swimming around. The "Sea Life San Antonio" is a fish bowl compared to a real Aquarium and is subpar, and not even worth the money they charge you to visit. We paid for four adults and four children. That came out to over $200 for about 20 minutes! Again, don't say I didn't warn you!
google avatar

alison m.

Yelp
To start off this's not a place where you can enjoy. The longest you can take looking at the fish it's 15 minutes... and the price don't even get me start overall it's not worth it. I know aquarium are smelling but this one smells like humidity like it's a sauna!

Pablo A.

Yelp
I had a great time. The set-up was great. So many different sea creatures. We got to touch sea stars. For two adults we paid aroud $50. They validated our parking ticket. Spent about an hour in there. Great for kids.
google avatar

Carol C.

Yelp
In love with this aquarium! I went on a date with my boyfriend and we took my little brothers who are 9 & 11. They enjoyed the hands on petting (starfish & coral) staff was super friendly. I would definitely recommend to anyone - any age.
google avatar

Xavier G.

Yelp
Wow. What a giant disappointment. For $25 a person it's a complete rip off. Save your money, absolutely nothing special about this place. Big fat F-.
google avatar

Seth A.

Yelp
This place was a great break in our stay on the river walk with kids. It is new, clean and extremely well decorated. The aquariums were really nice and the small play ground at the end was awesome to let the kids run. We went in October and it was quiet during the week and basically had the place to ourselves. Highly recommend going.

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
My daughter loved it, really interactive kids can learn about every fish with the touch screen. Playground at the end is a bonus and kids have a blast.
google avatar

Gil L.

Yelp
This place is located downtown so that explains the pricey tickets for such a small aquarium, when booking online it looks like it's a large place and they say the visit should take you about an hour but it's more like 20-25 minutes. The only thing of interest are the stingrays and small reef sharks, the other fish are not anything special. Not worth the trip from Austin, OK to stop by if you happen to be in the area but don't think it's worth the ticket price and it costs the same for kids and adults.
google avatar

Martha R.

Yelp
This place was good. You get through the whole pretty quickly. I was expecting a bit more but over all it was okay.

Tarah K.

Yelp
This aquarium is less of an "aquarium" and more of a few fish tanks for kids. I was super disappointed in how quickly we went through the exhibits and how few natural environments were found. Everything was plastic. Save your money.

Monica I.

Yelp
We booked a party here. Although the aquarium was great, the party service was not. It is very obvious that employees are not aware they host party services there. This business does not train their employees. If you have a party, tell them to go early, and arrive to the room at the party time to eat. No crafts or games as stated on the descriptions. You are responsible for hosting, they are only "helpers". The one women passing our the cookie cake announced "who would like diabetes?" it was very embarrassing as she kept referring to the cookie cake as diabetes. No one should shamed for indulging in cookie cake at my 6 years olds birthday party. It wasn't funny, and she didn't catch on to the social cues. No one was laughing, no one was responding. It made it awkward. I wish that her birthday was a better experience. I should have known when it sounded to good to be true and I should have know that. Also, the fire emergency alarm went off, no announcements no all clears. My disabled dad was very anxious and walked all the way out of the building to find out that it was a mistake. I also, didn't meet or recognize who was managing. Maybe the owners should invest in proper management. Someone did recognize that there were many issues because they allowed my party to stay a few minutes after. The employees started setting up 30 minutes after the party time , so I felt that this was the least they could do. At 6 being with your family and friends is all that matters, so I'm grateful for that. Our family spent $600 for 25 people, in my opinion this is steep for what we got. I would never do it again.

Vianca L.

Yelp
Disappointing. Way too expensive for what it is. Not worth $120 for 4 people. We were in and out in like 30 minutes and we weren't even rushing.

Erica A.

Yelp
The aquariums were beautiful & it was very clean. We paid $102 for about 30 minutes (4 of us). I tried to use a coupon from the hotel but it was a month expired & they did not honor it. I was expecting a longer experience for the price.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Fun place to go. Interesting things to see inside with interactive activities for your young kids but if they're not the types that are into the sea life there's a playroom at the end. The price is good compared to the $49 from a local aquarium back in California.

Rebecca D.

Yelp
Sea life is a great experience if you want to have a fun, aquatic time, without having to walk through a ginormous aquarium. The staff is friendly and there is plenty of tanks with cool fish and also a section where you get to touch some of the sea life. Don't forget to say Hi to CJ the Green Eel! He's a homie. Have fun!

Miguel C.

Yelp
Located downtown, it is small and over priced. There is only one "hands on" experience vs the other aquarium in town has many. We got through the whole place in about 30 minutes, not worth the money.

Joey P.

Yelp
Great aquarium to visit! Perfect place to bring your kids. I would recommend this aquarium over any other one in San Antonio. Staff actually care about their fish.

D R.

Yelp
We took a day off from work, went early, were lucky enough to park close to a door & went inside thinking this was going to be a great experience. Before we get to Sea Life, a woman tells us all time slots have been canceled because someone "upstairs" had died. She even pointed up with her index finger. As we're standing there, she then offers a "great deal". If we'll come back the next day and sit in a room to listen to a sales presentation, we'll get 2 tickets for only $40!!!! I asked her to repeat why we can't go into Sea Life and she says it's because someone died. BUT if we will just come back the next day for that sales pitch, we can get in for only $40!!!!! Lady, I have mobility issues and you have no idea what it took for me (us) to walk from our vehicle in the parking lot, ride the escalator and be standing in front of you. And now you want us to return to our vehicle, go home and come back tomorrow. As we left the parking lot, we had to pay $5.00 just for being in the parking lot for less than 20 minutes so you could tell us to come back tomorrow.

Anna J.

Yelp
Not impressed at all; it definitely is overpriced I'd rather have driven to Corpus to their Aquarium. I expected a lot more. Overall you can see this display in less than an hour.

Monica H.

Yelp
Eh. I wasn't impressed. It was overpriced in my opinion. I wish there was more information on the types of mammals in each tank. They definitely had more than just your "normal" fish so I would've liked a info placard or something. The tunnel was super small. There were some rooms that looked like it wasn't quite ready yet or was dirty. I wouldn't go back here for awhile.
