"Relax and Have Some Lakeside Fun The Sea of Galilee has had a variety of names since biblical times, but in modern Israel , it’s called Lake Kinneret. Regardless of its name, the Kinneret is the focal point of Galilee. This beautiful freshwater lake is lined with ideal places to relax: beaches, camping grounds, cycling trails, and walking tracks, as well as an assortment of historic, archaeological, and religious attractions. Many of the places around the lake, such as Tabgha and Capernaum, are holy sites for Christians, the locations where Jesus is believed to have performed miracles. The newest attraction at the Kinneret is Aqua Kef, an inflatable floating water park, with trampolines, slides, and climbing walls."

Sea of Galilee aka Lake Tiberias. Is the famous lake where JESUS walked on it and also calmed the storm. It’s also the lowest fresh water lake on earth. Peaceful lake indeed and breeze was so cool.

The place where Jesus Christ performed many miracles including walking on the surface of the water and the feeding of four thousand people. A very good place to visit when in Israel.

Such a spiritual experience! Reflecting on the significance of this body of water was truly inspiring, beautiful and breathtaking. Knowing that Jesus walked on the Sea of Galilee and actually being in person there many years laters is something so special and it is an honor. I felt so blessed to have the privilege and opportunity to be at such an incredible place in history.

The Sea of Galilee, also known as Lake Kinneret, is a freshwater lake in northeastern Israel and holds immense historical and religious significance, particularly in Christianity. It is the lowest freshwater lake on Earth and the second-lowest lake overall after the Dead Sea. Surrounded by hills and fertile land, the Sea of Galilee is closely associated with the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Many key biblical events occurred here, including Jesus walking on water, calming the storm, and performing the miracle of the loaves and fishes. Towns such as Capernaum, Bethsaida, and Tiberias that line the lake's shores are rich in archaeological and spiritual heritage. Today, the Sea of Galilee is both a pilgrimage site and a popular destination for tourists seeking natural beauty and historical insight. Visitors can enjoy boat rides, visit ancient synagogues, and explore historic churches like the Church of the Beatitudes and the Church of the Primacy of St. Peter. Access to the lake and its surrounding attractions is generally free, although some sites and guided tours may charge modest entrance fees (usually around 5–15 USD depending on the location). Wait times are rarely an issue except at major pilgrimage spots during religious festivals. The lake is easily accessible by car or tour bus from major cities like Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, and accommodations are available in nearby towns like Tiberias. The tranquil setting and deep spiritual resonance make the Sea of Galilee a profound experience for visitors of all backgrounds.

An amazing place to see with my own eyes. I read all about this place and Jesus' ministry here. I also enjoyed sailing on the Sea of Galilee. Luckily, it was a calm and beautiful day.
