Sea Shore Hotel

I stayed here for 3 nights in April. Very reasonable prices (for Mumbai) and excellent service. Kumar, the host, was genuinely kind and friendly - very welcoming. I appreciated how he quoted me Indian prices for things (vs tourists prices at other guesthouses). They really care and try here. ||The double room was a small but adequate size. No AC but 2 fans and a big window. Room was kind of hot during the heat wave but not too bad. If they put up screens, it would help. Although I didn't see any mosquitoes. WiFi is in the reception room only but is pretty stable. Shared bathrooms really clean with stocked toilet paper. ||Really beautiful view of Colaba. Also really easy for taxis, just tell them to head to the Taj (2 blocks away). ||Overall - probably one of the best budget options in Mumbai and Kumar is the man! |

We were so impressed with this budget hotel. Not only is it in a prime location in Kolaba, right on the harbor and just blocks from India Gate, but it is managed by the nicest staff we have encountered in India. Kumar and his team make you feel right at home and offer great recommendations and just very considerate friendliness. The rooms are tiny--the window side is definitely preferred, but all are very clean and just fine for a few nights stay. The shared bathrooms are also super clean and the showers were hot. Seriously, this place is the best bet in Mumbai. Thank you, Seashore!

It's a cheap Mumbai hotel. They gave me a room next to reception when I would have preferred a corner view, but wifi worked in the room, so that made up for it. Shared showers/toilets clean worked ok. Bed clean. Staff efficient and friendly. I stayed two nights and casually asked the doorman at the hotel below which was better and he said mine was so I didn't bother changing. (The neighbourhood is ok but, oh India, are you ever going to pay a few rupees for someone to take the garbage from the sea beside the esplanade? Ever?)

Given it's location and the price, it is a very good option. The staff is nice. I got one of the rooma with a window and it was very noisy at night. Not sure how the rooms without a window are, but I would check them out first. The most disturbing thing was the smell of pee in the hallway and toilet, but if you cna get over that, than you will have a decent place to crash. I would go there again, had I gone to Mumbai.

My husband James and I stayed at Seashore for what we thought would be one night but ended up staying for five. The room was impeccably clean, cool (fan room is all you need), and Kummar, the friendly man at the reception, makes you feel at home; every time we left or entered he made sure to ask how we were and addressed us by name. After travelling India for over 2 months, this really felt like home and it was nice to have someone you felt genuinely cared about you and your experiences in Mumbai. Highly recommended (in fact, we already told many of our friends they absolutely need to stay there!). Oh, and the location can't be beat!

So good to find a reasonable place to stay in Mumbai with a backpackers budget. The location in Colaba is perfect, after a long day of walking in the crowded and noisy Mumbai it was a real pleasure to come back at night in that quiet place. Our room was more than good compared to the price we had paid. And as we were two young girl we had tell the staff that we really wanted to feel safe. And it's exactly what happened. They really took care of us as if we were their daughter. Thank you

All are non-AC rooms with quasi hotel feel. Everything is always clean and dry. All rooms share common toilet. It's a long flight of stairs to 4F. Very poor wifi. But it is the best deal you can get in Mumbai.

Clean but very small and basic. We had the 2 bed fan room. Has free WiFi and the staff were friendly. Shared bathroom but it was very clean. Pretty good price for Mumbai. Paid around 1100 for a double room
