Seabass Cycles Peckham

I love this bike shop. I can always bring my bike in the same day and they get to it quickly with a solution. I once had a problem where another shop recommended an expensive repair, but Seabass Cycles fixed it for a fraction of the price and basically the same day. Highly recommend. Super friendly staff and a great part of the Peckham community.

Seabass have been looking after my bikes for 8 years. I rarely leave reviews, but this one is long overdue. Over the years, they have fixed everything from my trusty 15-year-old hybrid to my Canyon SLX Aeroad Dura-Ace superbike. Also a custom bike build and, this month, a faultless custom handmade set of carbon wheels, which are an absolute dream to ride. No matter what the bike, the care and quality of the work are exceptional. I work in the public sector, I don't have very deep pockets, and they have NEVER tried to replace a part that didn’t need replacing and have NEVER tried to upsell me. The advice is always free, noncommittal, and from a wealth of experience that prioritises performance, longevity, and serviceability. I've been riding road bikes for 20 years; my bikes have probably seen more than 50 mechanics around the world, including ALL the local shops (when Seabass are too busy for a quick fix), and Charlie and team are the real deal. A model of professionalism and virtue. Thank you!

Amazing service and support from cycling enthusiasts! In February I went to Seabass to explore option of buying a touring bike through cycle to work scheme. They were incredibly helpful answering my many questions and taking me through the process. They organised bike distribution, assembly and add-ons. Even went the extra mile to package the bike for shipping (via plane) and provided useful photos/instructions of how to assemble bike on the other side. Delighted with the bike and top quality service. Huge thank you to Charlie and the gang from Seabass Cycles, Peckham!

I went away with a strong feeling of being oversold. Went in with a brake that was worn and they estimated £50 for changing both brakes and £50 for the chain which they decided needed changing, though the others shops were puzzled by this. So £100 in total. Overpriced parts and services. The two other bike shops nearby were both way cheaper and more honest about what I needed. Which was £14 to fix the one brake that was problematic, though he made sure to file it for me first and said if I was happy with it, it was actually safe as was without him doing anything, for now. I changed it because it was squeaky. This is a trendy hipster bike shop that will do a great job I'm sure. If money is no object at all and you don't mind waiting maybe a day if it's busy and you want a really great job with friendly staff this is your place. In any other situation I would avoid.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough! I bought some custom built carbon wheels here, and Charlie was very patient with me as we worked out what I was looking for given this is the first time I've bought wheels. Charlie's insights and opinions were a great help in getting to a final specification and I'm absolutely thrilled with the wheels that are now on my bike. The pricing was very reasonable, and they were also able to source and fit various other items as part of the same order. I just wish it was my local bike shop!

These chaps are the real deal, attentive and know their stuff, happy to tackle things even at short notice I’ve had all my bikes in their and always a professional standard of work. Not to mention it’s a gem of a shop, no glossy retail interior but an authentic, ad hoc fabric of the high street. Well done folks.

I would really recommend this place. They fixed my bike my cargo bike with no issues so I really recommend anyone who has cargo bike to please go to these guys (and other bikes included.)
