Loved this place! It was a cold raining day and we managed to find a table under the canopy and wait for our food. The queue was small and in less than 15 minutes everything was ready. We tried the haddock wrap, the Cullen skink and the seafood taster. Everything was freshly made and very good. Nice portions and very good prices. Thank you guys, everything is amazing!

I believe I’ve found my ultimate "death row meal" right here—truly unforgettable. Every portion was served with flawless consistency, each plate mirroring the last in both presentation and quality. The seafood was impeccably fresh and bursting with flavor. Even the accompanying elements—the buttered bread, the oatcake, and the rich garlic mayonnaise—were so delightful, they had me humming with joy. I’m genuinely blown away. Thank you so much for having us—it was an experience to remember. ✌🏽♥️

Seafood Shack – Fresh, Flavourful, and Full of Charm Seafood Shack in Ullapool is a real gem — the food is absolutely lovely, with generous portions and everything tasting super fresh and full of flavour. You can really tell it’s all made with care, and it’s exactly the kind of hearty, satisfying meal you crave when you’re up in the Highlands. The ladies serving were so pleasant and welcoming, adding to the whole feel-good experience. My only wish is that there was a bit more cover — because even in classic Scottish weather (rain, wind, cold!), I still want to enjoy their food, but it’s tricky when you’ve nowhere to shelter. Still, 100% worth a visit. If you're passing through Ullapool, don’t miss it — just bring a jacket or a brolly and go for it!

Though a bit expensive, the food is Top-notch. The battered haddock wrap was very tasty. Please be mindful of birds in the area. One did soil our food, which affected our overall dining experience. The picturesque atmosphere is breathtaking, especially during the rain.

We came for the start of the 2025 season and had the haddock wraps. This place was highly recommended to us and as we were in the Highlands this spring we decided to give it a visit. It did not disappoint. It's set in a small courtyard with a festival style shack and covered and uncovered tables. The prices are reasonable and the service was quick. The wraps were brilliant. The fish wasn't too battered or fried and there was plenty of it within the wrap alongside salad and the sauce (a pesto mayo type of thing, I can't quite remember). It was a perfect size serving before a great walk. Next time we're in Ullapool we will come back!

There’s a good reason this place was recommended to us by everyone!! Everything was AMAZING. We arrived at 12:04 on a rainy Wednesday and there was already a queue (probably due to the lack of things to do in the rain in Ullapool, it died down after!) we had: - the battered haddock wraps (you get a WHOLE battered fish inside its massive) - oysters (freshest I’ve ever had) - Cullen skink (like chowder, absolutely delicious) IMO the perfect order for 2 would be: 6 oysters, 1 Cullen skink and 1 wrap - as we were soooo full having a wrap each! 10/10. Only thing that would be good is covered seating as it’s all exposed. We ate in our van!

Loved it. The seafood shack is well worth the visit. It is as described, a small 'shack'/street food style van. Plenty of seating though. It is setup for fast eating or takeaway rather than a sit down meal. Perfect for us. I had the lobster sandwich. It was a miserable day, however the seating outside has good cover so we could stay dry.

Great little spot in the sunshine overlooking the town serving extremely fresh seafood in in interesting ways , I had the haddock wrap and the cullen skink, the soup was very good but not as thick as weve had before in the North east , the haddock was superb , a huge chunk of fish perfectly cooked with a pesto mayonnaise and veggies , the menu changes dailly depending on what the local fishermen have brought in which tells you how fresh it is , there was also a popup store from the Rhidorroch distillery selling gins and beers from a small wooden hut which added to the great atmosphere , well recommended

Yelp
Ullapool. A pretty little town. We were on the way up north and came here for lunch. Read good things about this little place. And still were suprised about how popular this place is. A pretty big line...15-20mins waiting time. We got lucky and got some seats within a few minutes. Be prepared to share your table, since there's a a lack of space for all customers. But the wait is worth it. Who knew that some of the best oysters we've ever had in our lives would be served here? Tasty, fresh, creamy. Brillant oysters. Nothing else to say. Speechless. But other items were great as well. The shrimp were nice and fresh. The langoustines a real treat. Fantastic item to order. And the fried fish sandwich hot, crispy and oh so tender. Amazing fish and seafood that gets served here. And for fair prices. You can tell the products are fresh and the whole team prepares everything fresh. Highly enjoyable food in a busy, but nice atmosphere. The only thing that fell a bit short was the chowder. Was a bit of a fusion-chowder with asian influences. We love asian food, but this one didn't really impress us. But surely enjoyable for some folks. But all in all it is an amazing place to grab some real and real fresh fish and seafood. Not to be missed. Dog-friendly too!

Yelp
The freshest oysters , since visiting Cape Cod last fall. Ordered 3 , devoured and ordered 6 more! We also loved all the dogs ;)

Yelp
Hidden gem behind the main road. There is a little bit of a line - but it went fast. Two things going on here. The food stand and the gin stand. I went for the food, stayed for the gin. I did two different meals here - a cullen skink (like chowder but so much better) and then a seafood combo (salad greens type thing) - they were both hands down the best food I've had in this part of Scotland !!! and I've been here 3 weeks, eating out every meal. The cullen skink had a slight smoky flavored fish and the broth was done to perfection - thick enough but not too thick, and not watery. The seafood combo was awesome ! (i tried to get this the first night but it ran out - so go early) Mix of local favorites and catch of the day. Fresh vegs. The service was fast, clean and very polite. The food was amazing, well prepared, great tastes and excellent portions. The gin shack - sorry i don't remember the wonderful bar name, but it was in the same patio area - has lots of options - i went with a local drink and it was refreshing, cool and the taste was AWESOME ! I know Scotland is all about the whisky but the gin is amazing as well ! Check the hours --- you can walk by anytime, they have a board up with meals and times. it is a covid restriction and not their fault for timing or space. I just don't want to type a set of hours and then it be wrong. Some reviews say 'Cash Only" But I can CONFIRM they have touchless credit card payments - i used my Apple pay but they have a bunch of other logos on the screen. Gin place has touchless credit card as well - Apple pay and others.

Yelp
This a nice spot with amazing and fresh seafood. We had the tempura haddock wrap and fresh oysters with Tabasco. The haddock wrap was crunchy and delicious. We shared our table with some fellow Americans from Chicago after some locals offered us their table. The setting was nice and the service was fantastic. Every local we met in Ullapool was super nice and friendly. It's worth a stop if you are ever in the area which is an area of great natural beauty.

Yelp
It's a food truck- so check your hours first, as you often aren't going to get a late meal here and you don't want to miss it like I nearly did! Take your pennies too, as it's cash only. (It says online that t(hey reopen again April 1st 2020 as they close over the winter, and I don't blame them as it was brisk enough back last September with the NC500 crowd thinning.) Permanent set up, lovely people which just adds to the fab, seriously fresh food, I had the garlic crab claws, and they were so so good, but you'll get to pick off the chalkboard on the day.

Yelp
Food was super fresh, I had scallops with beetroot couscous and salad. Everything was delicious! The food truck atmosphere is cool and casual. Prices are reasonable. Wish I was staying in town longer and could have eaten here again.

Yelp
Definitely eat here if looking for good food in Ullapool! Super high marks for sophistication, quality, taste, and execution! Price is really good for fine dining type food because it's served in a food truck set up (but offers a spacious outdoor seating area) and admittedly you don't get a ton of protein. But for the amount you pay, you get enough super fresh and delicately flavored protein, paired with a salad dressed in a nice homemade vinaigrette, and a heaping amount of couscous that probably soaked up some of the delicious juices from whatever protein you ordered. Had the scallops, and it was awesome! Would totally have had it the next day, had we stayed more than a day in Ullapool. Also had the fried monkfish, which made for a really fresh fish and chips (without the chips) experience.
