Me and my extended family have been meeting here annually for years. We always have a great time, there’s fun things near by and the rooms are always decorated and kept clean. Unlike your average boring hotel, each room is unique and there’s always some sort of difference between them- and if you need a bit more space, they have a two-floor loft. I’ve made some amazing family memories here, and I know any other family would as well. The staff are accommodating and friendly, and the view is incredible. We often also had manatees and dolphins swimming by, sometimes only feet away- if you want a magical experience you’ll never forget, the Seahorse Resort is the first place I’d recommend. We’ll certainly be coming back next year, and the year after that- as we have the years before! ❤️🐬🐠

My #1 spot to vacation. Love this place. Very relaxed and private location. The rooms are great and the distance from the beach is unmatched with the best view of the sunset. Will ALWAYS come back every year at least twice a year.

I left a review that was not very kind and I am going to revise it a bit. We had a situation last weekend where we stayed at this Resort and fell in love with the location and the beaches and The View from the rooms. During our stay there was a very unruly family that came in, about 40 of them, and they took over the whole place and we were only two doors down from the Hub of their family reunion. We felt very violated and like we couldn't sit outside because the music was so loud and they were all over our space. I did go to the front office and spoke with the registration person that was on and didn't feel like we got any response. We had to go back to our room and shut our blinds and lock our door due to the situation. Since then I have found out that they did in fact fine this family and block them from coming again. So in hindsight I do feel like they did something about the situation and do not want it to ever happen again at their resort. We still had a very unpeaceful stay but I would be willing to give it another try because of the location and the beauty of the beach. But at least we're in communication and I will give them a better review because they did in fact do something about the situation.

We’ve been coming to the Seahorse for 45 years! You can’t beat the views here. Every year it gets better. We appreciate the updates on the units and the wonderful staff! Thank you to the staff for taking such good care of our home away from home! You all are the best!

SeaHorse Beach resort is absolutely fantastic. It's right on the beach, you couldn't get any closer. It's so private and peaceful. I love going here.

We stay at the Seahorse regularly because of the beautiful location and beach view. The unit we stayed in this time was 235. The bathroom and kitchen are nicely updated and the kitchen is well equipped. However I would NOT stay in this unit again because of the terrible mattress and pillows which make for a very uncomfortable sleep. Don’t expect great service here. There is no room cleaning service unless you are staying 7 nights, and the office is open only 10 to 5 and closed on Sunday. They don’t even give you shampoo if you are staying only 3 nights!!

Yelp
Our stay was ok not great people smoking around our room, smoke from barbecues made sitting outside most of the time not pleasant. Rooms had bits and pieces of some ones leftover house hold item I could list all the items but I would not give them the time everything from broken blinds, to no bowls. To an insult to you they don't return your deposit fully and don't tell you why SEE if you catch it .Take the time to find something better.

Yelp
Travellers please be aware all these units are individually owned and can vary widely in how they are decorated and maintained by their individual owners. We had stayed here in previous years in other units without issue, but had lost our previous room from a front desk screw-up request....thus had been booked and stayed in unit 236, which appeared very nice in their photos, but what we experienced was anything but nice: both beds were terrible old, worn out/dirty mattresses, with a broken box spring on the King, the toilet broke down, a plugged bathroom sink upon arrival, a non-functioning heat/air system, a heated pool wasn't consistent as the heater kept breaking down. (see photos of worn King bed, stained sofa bed mattresses attached) As we could not sleep along with the other issues, naturally we requested another room but we were denied one even though others were open. The Front desk explained that as we booked unit 236 the owner was entitled to "all our paid funds" for duration. Be aware, as they take a hefty upfront deposit, then take full payment up-front on your arrival, it leaves the client without recourse. After complaining about the main bed for a week, the desk personnel agreed to contact the owner and inquire about a new mattress. Guess what, the unit 236 owner is out of the country and couldn't be reached. We continued to complain and the desk subsequently they contacted the Condo board President and they (it took days) finally agreed to replace the bed...great, but it would take 2-3 more days for delivery! By the time the mattress finally arrived we so tired and exhausted from lack of sleep, and nearly 2 weeks into our stay. While the replacement mattress was good, no one thought to replace the broken box spring underneath, so not much was gained in relief. The sofa bed (also terribly stained and worn out) this mattress wasn't replaced as it had to wait for the owner. The heat was repaired once but only lasted 2 days before it failed again. we were supplied with a portable heater as Florida was having an unusually cold January. Bottom line is buyer beware! "Shame" on this particular owner (236) who is happy to take your money but obviously unwilling, or simply doesn't care about supplying clients with a decent accommodation. Shame on so called property "Management" for not being able to "better deal" with what was a "disastrous vacation stay" for us at the Seahorse. We will never go back!

Yelp
This the the third time staying at the Seahorse and not quite sure whether or not we will be back for our yearly tradition trip at this resort. We have previously stayed in rooms 235 and 246 and this year we decided to stay on the first floor in room 222. Room 246 was more updated, but the noseeums ate us alive. If you like outdated, dirty, tiny red bugs crawling all over the kitchen countertops, and sharing with roaches, then this is the room for you. If you did not run the water in the shower throughout the day, the bathroom would stink of rotten eggs. Absolutely disgusting. On top of that, if you enjoy loud music playing all hours of the day and people with no manners, this is the resort for you. It's very sad how this resort has gone downhill over the years. In my opinion it is not the best resort to stay in Longboat Key if you're looking for a quiet and clean place to vacation. Seahorse and owners- you can do better than this. If you are not able to maintain this properly to acceptable standards, please do not hesitate to contact me to buy your unit and bring this place back to the beautiful resort it once was.

Yelp
We have enjoyed our previous stays, but our last stay in July 2023 will be our last. The non-smoking rule was not enforced and the unit directly below our balcony smoked non-stop the entire time of our stay. If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke as we are, it makes for an unpleasant experience in being unable to sit on your balcony and enjoy the view. Also, when we arrived, all the garbage cans on the property were overflowing and piling up with trash.

Yelp
The Sea Horse Beach Resort could be the best resort of its type on Longboat Key, offering studio, and one and two bedroom, units all with full kitchens! Very popular with young and older couples and Families, who often book with relatives and close friends. Each unit has a wall of sliding doors and a patio or veranda which face the surf 50 yards in front of them! Lovely Sunsets and a great lookout for dolphins and sea birds. Barbecues are available on the lawn and fishing is very popular off the beach, too. Located a mile or so from a beautiful modern Publix Grocery and a CVS. A great place to relax and enjoy!

Yelp
We have stayed here five times. Never an issue other than a coffee pot that wouldn't work - which they replaced in 5 minutes. Santa and Darcy bend over backwards to make sure your trip is memorable. Even with early flight arrivals, they have worked with us each time if it was at all possible. Wish I could rate higher than 5 stars!

Yelp
Although we've never stayed at the Sea Horse Beach Resort in the past, I would strongly consider staying there again. Our stay took place during the Off Season (October) and we couldn't have asked for more out of a condo or the support staff. The cleaning staff was present every morning offering their services. The maintenance team cleaned communal areas (pool and lounge) and grills daily. The private beach was outstanding. My wife and 2 children took full advantage of the beach and pool without complaint. The panoramic view of the beach was up close and personal. You couldn't go wrong with either a first or second floor condo. If you're looking for the fast pace of night time entertainment then you're in the wrong place. St. Pete Beach may be more your speed. The rooms have basic cable and you have access to wi-fi in the condo. The condo was fully equipped to fit our needs for a week (or longer if you've got the time). Full refrigerator, microwave, pots/pans,dishwasher, etc... It was a great place to spend a week. The hustle and bustle of real life faded away as we took full advantage of an off the beaten path resort for R&R.

Yelp
There were a lot of things wrong with this place and I just want to say we've been coming to seahorse for 5 years but will never be back again. We stayed in 228. 1st we requested early check in and were told we needed to call a couple hours before check in time to request early check in so we did that and our room didn't end up being available 45 minutes AFTER normal check in time. 2nd, the beach was under going a beach restoration so there were big dump trucks driving on the beach every 30 seconds and the seahorse resort didn't even warn us or send us a message or post anything on the Internet to let the guests know that the beach restoration was taking place. I went into the resort office and when I complained to the manager for not warning the guest via the seahorse webpage the manager responded saying "nobody even checks that website" I said that I do, and that's how I book rooms. The manager also said that their resort is the cheapest on the key implying that you get what you pay for. The room itself was a huge disappointment. 3rd complaint is that there was a mouse in the unit. We heard it the crawling the night before we left and it actually chewed up the plastic and the bread we stored in one of the cabinets. The unit is not kept well, broken/cracked/ chewed up cabinets, the ceiling tile in the bathrooms have water damage, and stained couches. The unit is not really a 2 bedroom. There's a built in bed that folds out and they have an accordion door that is supposed to "close off" the second room but it doesn't close all the way because of the tv fixture. Management is terrible and it seems that the owners don't care too much about keeping up the unit or at least bother to check on how management is taking care of the unit.

Yelp
It might be a great place to stay if you do not have any children but they are not very tolerant to kids playing and having a good time. It seems they are only interested in people to come there, sit in a chase lounge and keep very quite. Do not plan on having any group get togethers on the beach in the evening. The rooms were small but clean and the property was kept up well.

Yelp
Old Florida. Old decor. If you're into that kinda chic, then this is the place for you. The pros: right on the gulf, beautiful views, affordable prices, located close to the Publix shopping center and just 15 minutes from St. Armands circle and world-class shopping & dining. The cons: Old, not handicap-accessible. All in all, not a bad place to stay--try to get a room that's been updated and you'll have a good experience.

Yelp
Great place to get back to old time beach experience. Views were beautiful and beach right outside your door. Restaurants and shopping a short drive away. If your looking for back to beach basics this place is for you

Yelp
We love this place! This is our third time staying at the Sea Horse. These condos are older and each unit is individually owned. Most of them have been updated. We asked to see a few rooms at the end of our first stay and found a room they we stayed in the next two times and plan on using next time. The rooms are small but it's just right for us, we plan on spending most of our time on the beach anyway. We get a one bedroom unit (#213) for our family, which is my husband and I plus our 3 small children. It has been updated with new flooring, 2 large flat screen TV's, new sliding door, new tile in the kitchen and counter tops. The kitchen is small but has what we need. They have maid service that comes daily to supply towels and take out the trash. Free wireless is also provided. The staff here are very helpful and nice. They have beach towels available, lounge chairs and a bbq grill if you are on the bottom floor. The beach is literally right out your back door. I can also watch my husband and kids play on the beach while I am in the condo with the baby. The pool is nice but we don't spend a lot of time there. Photos are available of each room on their website. If you are not familiar with Longboat Key, it's not very commercialized. No fast food, chain restaurants our many stores. Sarasota is just over the bridge, about 10 min. We try to get everything we need before we get here so we don't have to keep running to the store. For us, you can't beat the price to have a condo directly on the ocean.
