Travellers please be aware all these units are individually owned and can vary widely in how they are decorated and maintained by their individual owners. We had stayed here in previous years in other units without issue, but had lost our previous room from a front desk screw-up request....thus had been booked and stayed in unit 236, which appeared very nice in their photos, but what we experienced was anything but nice: both beds were terrible old, worn out/dirty mattresses, with a broken box spring on the King, the toilet broke down, a plugged bathroom sink upon arrival, a non-functioning heat/air system, a heated pool wasn't consistent as the heater kept breaking down. (see photos of worn King bed, stained sofa bed mattresses attached)
As we could not sleep along with the other issues, naturally we requested another room but we were denied one even though others were open. The Front desk explained that as we booked unit 236 the owner was entitled to "all our paid funds" for duration. Be aware, as they take a hefty upfront deposit, then take full payment up-front on your arrival, it leaves the client without recourse.
After complaining about the main bed for a week, the desk personnel agreed to contact the owner and inquire about a new mattress. Guess what, the unit 236 owner is out of the country and couldn't be reached. We continued to complain and the desk subsequently they contacted the Condo board President and they (it took days) finally agreed to replace the bed...great, but it would take 2-3 more days for delivery! By the time the mattress finally arrived we so tired and exhausted from lack of sleep, and nearly 2 weeks into our stay. While the replacement mattress was good, no one thought to replace the broken box spring underneath, so not much was gained in relief. The sofa bed (also terribly stained and worn out) this mattress wasn't replaced as it had to wait for the owner.
The heat was repaired once but only lasted 2 days before it failed again. we were supplied with a portable heater as Florida was having an unusually cold January.
Bottom line is buyer beware! "Shame" on this particular owner (236) who is happy to take your money but obviously unwilling, or simply doesn't care about supplying clients with a decent accommodation. Shame on so called property "Management" for not being able to "better deal" with what was a "disastrous vacation stay" for us at the Seahorse. We will never go back!
