While their Mother's Day brunch was solid and tasty, albeit pricey I was disturbed to find that as a part of the cohn restaurant group, they add an additional 3% surcharge. This surcharge while somehow ruled legal by judge in January is just an attempt to make their patrons agitated about the increase to minimum wage.
A normal business would simply adjust their prices, this surcharge is deceptive and political. I'm sad to say that because the Cohn group of restaurants does this, I will never choose to go to one of their restaurants again, and I strongly encourage anyone who supports a living wage to do the same.
Based on the meal you see in this picture, does this look like a $100+ meal? Clearly their costs build in their personal profit, this charge is absolutely unconscionable.
But the food is solid so it gets 3 stars, otherwise this would be some 1 star quality behavior by their executive management.
