Seaside Bar & Grill

At first glance it’s very unassuming and casual which was great for our family of 5 (kids ages 4,6 and 16). We weren’t able to make reservations as they were booked for the evening, but the woman greeted us and we were sat within 5 minutes of arrival. The service was great, we were able to put our order in quickly and Q sent our app order to the kitchen right away. The apps came out quick and everyone loved the hush puppies and calamari. The little ones shared an order of fried fish which they devoured and the 16 year old got a burger which was huge and she enjoyed. I got the crab cakes and they were good and my husband got the pork which he also liked. I have nothing but praise for this spot. It was perfect for a dinner off the island (we were staying at Fripp for the week), super casual, great food. Good service. Perfect little off the beaten path beach restaurant. I highly recommend! I will say I read the reviews prior to going and saw some not great ones so we were a little nervous but gave it a shot anyway. We were impressed and I had to share! This place needs more love! I only wish I took more photos to share!

Oh my word!! If you are in the area and don’t come here, you are missing out! Amazing food!! I tried the Creole Shrimp and Rice and the green, white and blue salad. 💯 Recommended. Ask for Charmaine, she was amazing!

The service & food was good. The gator nuggets & Captains platter was seasoned perfectly. The place was clean and welcoming. The Arnold Palmer was delicious. Perfectly mixed and sweetened.

The food was okay, not bad but nowhere near good. My mother's plate wasn't brought out until we were all done. Don't know how shrimp and grits gets lost. Scallops a little rubbery, blackened salmon the side shrimp were cold. Very very noisy. You can see by the food left that nobody was that crazy about it to finish their plates.

This is a seafood restaurant with great vegan options, allowing comfortable dining for everyone in your party. Last week I had a delicious Buffalo Tofu wrap. This evening was Wings and Shrimp and the chef prepared a Thai “Chicken” Flat (no chicken with vegan cheese) when there were no vegan options on the menu. I’ve been eating at Seaside for two years and never disappointed!

We really liked it here. My husband got fish and grits. Talked about it all night. I just got a small cheeseburger, but it was really, really good. The service was great. Prices were very reasonable. If you're thinking about it, call for their specials!

Excellent restaurant. Great for big family gatherings, especially with kids. Plenty of areas for smaller parties too. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly, and the wings were so flavorful. Everyone in our group was very happy! Thanks for a great night out.

Best seafood!! Had a party of 9 mixed with adults and children. Gator bites, river rounds, wings, calamari and crab bisque were amazing! Crabs legs, shrimp and lobster were perfection. Waitress was wonderful and super friendly! Definitely so glad it was recommended to us!

We absolutely loved Seaside Bar & Grill! I received 11 delicious, large fried shrimp, unique and flavorful fries, hush puppies and coleslaw for only $12. The service was quick and our waitress was very sweet. The restaurant was clean, cute and low key. Laid back vibes for sure! I wish them continued success and will be back when we visit Fripp Island next.

This place is so unassuming from the outside, but totally worth the visit! Incredibly generous portions of seafood. Shrimp perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. Seasoned to perfection. Highly recommend. The food is so good.

This place looks like a dive and we actually consider ditching out on our reservation. I'm so glad we didn't! The menu is unique and everything you could ask for. I had the mo frog mo seafood boil. The flavor was perfect, the crab was meaty, the lobster was perfectly cooked. Service was attentive and prompt. Our server (I believe her name was Kayan) was ready to offer suggestions and was really friendly. Definitely would recommend.

Seaside Resturant is a family run resturant. An easy drive about 15 minutes or so outside Beaufort S.C. on Highway 21 East. The dining room consist if two large rooms with tables with standard seating. In the rear of the building its a different world. This is where they have the bar. The bar consist of 4-5 high top tables and a long bar top with seversl sests. At the bar there is 3 TV's for that special TV event, etc. The bar seats look out over the rear outdoor dining area. There is a small stage area and on Friday night its wide open for live entertainment. You cant hear the music and its funny as hell watching people dance with no sound. Bands not the Rolling Stones, but really fun, none the less. The food at Seaside is really good. We only eat at bar so I can't tell you about sitting in dining rooms or outside. We usually have the Ribeye. It's a decent steak, cooked several ways, and just as good as steaks in Beaufort costing twice as much. The sides, collard greens, fries etc are really special. Most dishes have that home cooked taste and feel about them. Last visit, we had the conch fritters, one of the nightly specials. They were absolutely the best fritters we've ever had, and we've tried a bunch. Prices are relatively cheap, especially when compared to restaurants in Beaufort. In conclusion, Seaside is a good solid resturant. The service is usually really good, however they get crazy busy and sometimes this leads to a longer wait. We've found the waitresses are very friendly and they work really hard to get it right. Overall Seaside is a solid 4 star restaurant. Great service, good food, great drinks. Good prices. Ill see you there. Let's eat some conch fritters!!

Excellent food, more than fairly priced and friendly staff. The Southwest Chicken wrap served with sweet potato fries was exactly what I was craving for lunch. The veggies were fresh and delicious and the salad dressing paired perfectly with the chicken and black beans. Chill, casual environment. I will certainly try one of the seafood baskets when I return. I was eyeing my girlfriend's and stole a piece of her shrimp. So tasty!

First time eating here. The food was great, the service was fast and friendly. This is a must eat of your at Fripp, Harbour, or Saint Helena Island.

Food and drinks were to die for. Service was AMAZING!!! The ambience was very relaxing an welcoming. It was friendly. My family had a great experience and if we lived closer we would come back constantly. I recommend the tequila sunrise drink because it was a 100/100. It was so good.

Great service, enjoyable ambiance inside and out, and great food. The servers told us about different menus available on different days, live music, and fun events. Definitely planning on coming back

Decent restaurant close to Fripp. Took almost 15 minutes to get served water, food was pretty good but nothing to write home about. Sides are much better than other seafood restaurants in the area.

Decided to try this business because it was close and local. The building is nice and bigger than you would think inside. Two dining areas, a bar area, and outside seating. We started with a mini- blooming onion. For $7.00 it was really good. We ordered the fried shrimp and fish with collards greens and fondant potatoes. The waitress was very attentive and helpful with the menu. Our plates came out too quick to be cooked to order. Our food was hot but kind of bland. Overall not bad but not memorable either.

The service is awesome! Our server, Christy (sp?), was such a kind person and exuded southern hospitality! We had a party of 6 and they added the tip to the check which is normal being from Atlanta, but she told us that it was added on when she delivered the bill. That isn't all though...the food was great! For the appetizers, we had the soft shell crab (fried), fried green tomatoes and oysters. All were superb! For dinner, we all had something different. 3 of us had shrimp dinners...lots of food for the price! I had the daily Special which was Tuna steak Oscar. It was a Tuna steak with a crab cake on top with hollandaise sauce on a bed of wild rice and asparagus. My husband had salmon with scallops dinner and it was enough food to fill him up! He usually is disappointed that he doesn't get enough food. He left full! My son had the 2 meat dinner and was pleasantly surprised! This place is a locally owned seafood restaurant that we will go back when we visit again! We had such a wonderful experience with the staff and the other customers were so nice! Please go if in the area! Sorry I didn't take pics!

This is a nice restaurant on St. Helena Island. The service is excellent, the food is phenomenally delicious, and the restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly. We had the gator bites, fried fish and fried shrimp. The food was fresh and the fried food was crispy! Will definitely eat here again next time I visit.

Lunch baskets are the best. Yummy food. Well prepared. Lots of sides come with them too. Highly recommend

I love love love this place!! Service is friendly, warm, prompt and attentive. The food was delicious. I come to harbor island often and so glad I discovered Seaside grill! I had the hot honey bbq wings for dinner and they were so amazing I craved them for lunch the next day - so i went back for another amazing experience. The following day had the burger with sweat potato fries and slaw. Heavenly!! Three days in a row three great meals! Next to try seafood - shrimp! The unsweetened ice tea was excellent too along with coffee and salted caramel cheesecake! Will be back often when I am in town!!

Excellent Sunday Brunch buffet. All the Southern favorites..fried chicken fried cat fish, collard greens, garlic mashed potatoes, biscuits, shrimp & grits, breakfast casserole, fresh fruit, etc. Something for everyone. Clean. Very good service.

Great southern cooking! Very friendly wait staff too. We went twice on our 7 day vacation.

Stayed on Harbor Island and not sure why this place was not in the welcome book. The food and service was fast and excellent... We had our dog with us so we ate outside of which there was plenty of seating some seats under a roof with fans and some were tables with umbrellas... when I say service was fast I mean hot delicious food served under 10 mins. Being a seafood place my wife had the shrimp and fondant potatoes and asparagus- she loved it all. I had liver and onions with mash potatoes and deep fried green beans with a side of crab stuffing. It was fantastic. Going back to get crab bisque and the crab stuffing Our waiter was Chris who was so nice and very attentive to all customers. Definitely going back

Phenomenal food, fantastic staff, unbelievable prices. What more could you ask for?! From the hush puppies starter through the ridiculously low-priced grilled shrimp skewers, every bite was mouthwateringly delicious. Even the tartar sauce is uniquely tasty and I'm usually not a tartar sauce fan.

It's our "go-to" place when we visit Jekyll Island. The food is always good and the staff friendly but are frequently short-staffed.

High asf for no reason! I paid 25 dollars for the Nola pasta and literally had 10 noodles.

Great service and wonderful food!!!!!! Shrimp were fried to perfection.....the Caesar salad was perfect with lotsa shredded Parmesan!!!!!

When I tell you to try this place, I am sincere...local chef, local food and everything is top notch!! The service was exceptional!! And the ambiance was chill, not fussy!!

New to the area and only eaten here 3 times. The food and service were very good each time, so 4 stars However, the bar REALLY needs to up its game! One star at best. Minimal beer selections, and anything beyond the most basic mixed drink was very poorly done. Hands down the worst margaritas and Manhattans I ever had! Two others with me also complimented the food and service but criticized the adult beverages.

Great service. Loved the beachside atmosphere. Food was typical/just ok, nothing wrong, but nothing special.

This place has gotten progressively better and better! The first time we went here was about when Seaside just opened and we were eager to try it, although it wasn't a good experience at all, our more recent visits were better! The food has always been great from the start, the creamy crab bisque is what I come back for, and the Cobb salad is always so delightful to get, but the service is not good..at times. Our recent meal had my mom and I waiting for at least 45 minutes, but it was worth the wait, so we didn't complain. As for the ambience, wonderful. So many people were enjoying their food and drinks, many tvs all around.

Great food - service is slow but with the wait. Shrimp and seafood dishes always a great choice.

A shout out to Ashley for her welcoming and energetic personality. We are from Colorado and wanted to try fresh local seafood because the closest we have at home is frozen from Vietnam! We found this great local spot near our campsite and was awareded with great food, quaint atmosphere, awesome service, and to top it off very affordable meal!

We went for lunch. The food was excellent. I had the oyster basket and demolished it them all. My husband had the burger and again knocked it out of the park. Interesting shaped French fries but good and the hush puppies were amazing. Service was a little slow but waitress was lovely. Will definitely be back

Best food in Beaufort County. If you're down in Beaufort and wonder where you can get southern food, come to this place. Fried shrimp and hush puppies are delicious! The price is reasonable too! The service is great. The ambiance is nice. This restaurant is so beautiful, and plenty spacious. It also sit under a few large live oaks, making you feel truly in the south.

This is the most satisfying find of our vacation! After watching the sunset from the fishing pier on Hunting Island we found ourselves hungry on our way back to Beaufort. We pulled into seaside by chance and discovered a diverse menu offered by a talented chef. We started with the gator bites, then had blackened grouper, grilled shrimp, NOLA chicken and shrimp pasta, fried shrimp. The collards, fried green beans, okra, and asparagus were tasty sides. This place is so good. The staff is friendly and provide a relaxed atmosphere. We all loved this place.

Stopped in hungry and tired after an afternoon on Hunter's Island and were delighted to find this place. The staff was beyond friendly and the food was fresh and delicious. The Crab Bisque was light and flavorful. We both had the ginger spiced shrimp on shredded cabbage, which was fantastic. And the prices are quite reasonable as well!

Service: Excellent. Well trained, professional and personable. Food: Best seafood meal in ages. Local shrimp (rarity) and local fish! Shrimp chowder was outstanding; clam chowder next time. Price: Less than expected for the quality and quantity of food and service. Not please with South Carolina taxes: 7% sales, 2% Hospitality (welcome to SC?), and 5% Liquor = Rip off the transients... Highly recommend, and will return.

Ordered pickup - 2 entrees/2 apps/2 desserts for $83. Asked for fish & shrimp combo grilled but when I picked it up it was fried. The girl and the counter checked the ticket and laughed saying she wrote it down correctly but the kitchen got it wrong. The manager was inattentive and overall things seemed quite disorganized despite the fact that they were not very busy. When I got to our hotel I discovered that there was a grand total of 2 fried shrimp in the meal and one fried tail w/o a shrimp. The blooming onion was very greasy and not crispy. The Nola and calamari were not bad.

This place is so good! I'm almost embarrassed to admit, but this place was nowhere on our radar originally. The first place we planned to go to for lunch was closed and didn't update their hours online (womp womp,) so with a car full of hungry kids, we had to find a place fast. When in Rome... it seemed like we should enjoy some locally prepared seafood. This place did not disappoint! All of us (including kids aged 8 months, 3 years, and 6 years) devoured our meals. Then we ordered more! The blackened fish was phenomenal, as was the grilled shrimp. Their fries were unique and tasty. I don't even like hush puppies, but I ate several with the honey butter they provide. Service was friendly and tolerant of our energetic bunch. I wish we had been in town for another lunch because I would have gone again in a heartbeat. I hope we'll be back!

Every time I have visited this establishment: The service was excellent, the shrimp and oysters have been the best I have had. The cooks know how to fry up seafood- not over or under cooked. Just right!! Definitely a must! Don't miss out on shrimp night either.

The Mo Frog Mo was delicious, the lobster melted in my mouth-- no butter needed. Perfectly seasoned. Our waitress CoCo was amazing she provided excellent service. Ambiance was ok, nice & clean restaurant.

First time visiting with new ownership. Fresh updated atmosphere. Cheerful, attentive service. Visited on shrimp & Wing night. One of the tastiest meals during our visit to Fripp. Looking forward to coming back next year!

Can't say enough good things about this place. Food was wonderful. The Mo Frog Mo checked all the boxes!! It's a must have. Kids loved the alligator bites. Service was great. Everyone was so friendly. Definitely recommend!!

Went for breakfast on Sunday. Shrimp and Grits were the BOMB! Lovely server and great food. Local Gullah artwork and Historical photos of location really special and made it a lovely spot to eat. They do breakfast from 10 to 3 on Sundays. YUMMY!

Have had Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this restaurant and have not been disappointed with the menu selections, the quality of the food, and the presentation of the food. Excellent service every time regardless how busy they are. Helpful, always willing to engage in conversations; especially about the menu items. Great place with inside and outside seating. Periodically there is live music so it's helpful to check their web site. Definitely a repeat whenever we're out this way!

Nice find. It was Sunday brunch but they made an exception for us and we had blackened shrimp with creative delicious fries. Our waitress/bar tender was fun and cool!

The grilled shrimp was good, garden salad was good but the rest I was not impressed with. We had to wait over an hour for a table (understandable) but we were slow receiving service, at one point my husband was out of beer for 30 minutes before I went to the bar myself & got him another drink. Might have just been an off night.

Went here today for lunch. It was a gem! The menu was extensive, food was fresh, portions were ample, and it was all delicious! Best of all, it was reasonably priced. I'm from out of town, but this place is definitely on my list of I ever come back.

This restaurant looks from the outside that it has been feeding the locals for years all the standard seafood stuff and good strong drinks. Since every time we passed the place (no matter what time of day), the parking lot was filled with pickup trucks, we guessed it must be good. I didn't even check Yelp -- my wife and I pulled right in.... And we're surprised by an airy and bright dining area -- no wood paneling or pictures of heroic fishermen or dead fish anywhere. The menu also was a nice surprise, since we were feeling more salad than hearty fried platters. We got ourselves crab bisque as a starter. That was creamy, good and homemade. The we launched into our salads. My ginger salad was a surprise -- how they worked blue cheese into this and still had it taste good is beyond my ken. My wife liked her Cobb salad too. Service was unfussy, fairly quick, and kept the iced tea coming. It's going to be a few years before this place has the reputation of a well-loved joint. For now, it's a place serving unexpected cuisine at decent price point.

Fried shrimp, blackened shrimp, and steamed shrimp were perfectly cooked and delicious. Fried oysters were also a hit, and the side of hushpuppies (6) were my personal favorite. Service was fast and friendly, we will be back!

We happened to go on a Wednesday night which is shrimp and wings night. This was a surprise, and FAR exceeded expectations. The shrimp were large, cooked to perfection, and all around the best shrimp I've had since MJ's was around (maybe even better). The prices were unbeatable. My husband got the wings which were super spicy and delicious. We got a side salad, okra, and hush puppies - everything was unbelievably yum!

We are tourists passing through and wanted to stop for lunch. First, out food ( a salad and 2 sandwiches) took 26 minutes to come out. Tables are me us were served long before us. We don't know if they lost our order or what? Second my friend's salad came out wrong. They deliver a piece of, what looked like a VERY thin piece of petrified chicken about 1.5"X 2" for $5.00! They was supposed to be on the salad. About 10 minutes later, her salad arrived. We had all but finished our lunch. Food not stellar experience unacceptable. Our fist bad meal in SC.
