"Bed & bath: 5 bedrooms, 4 bathsTop amenities:  A newly renovated roof deck for epic sunset viewingsNearby attractions: Sandy Neck Lighthouse is directly across the harbor This light-filled, cedar shake home sits right on Barnstable Harbor, with private beach access just outside the back door. Picture windows offer views of Cape Cod Bay from many of the home's five bedrooms, as well as the kitchen and various living areas. There's a dedicated office should you need to take a few Zoom calls while visiting, as well as an elevated deck, and garage stocked with beach essentials like chairs, toys, and paddleboards. Like many homes in the area, there's a Saturday-to-Saturday booking requirement during peak summer months." - Meredith Carey, Todd Plummer

"Coastal cottages dot the seaside in Massachusetts, but one of our favorites is this home in Yarmouth. The intimate one-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage can accommodate up to two people. The bathroom has recently been renovated with marble and tile, and the exterior got a fresh coat of paint, too, making it look bright and new again. While there is only one bedroom, there is a pull-out couch with a memory foam mattress in the living room that can accommodate another person. This place is prime Cape real estate: Colonial Acres Beach, where you can lay in the sun or dive into the ocean, is just steps from the shared patio. And don’t worry about having to bring your own beach chairs or umbrellas—the host has them on hand." - Alex Erdekian,Jamie Spain

Great location for a getaway on the Cape. The cottages are all right on the beach making it convenient to relax for a beach day. They also have other amenities like lounge chairs to sit above the beach and enjoy the view as well as a communal grill. Rooms at well-appointed and unique as all independently owned. Would be great for a large family to rent a few cottages at once. Our only issue was the A/C was not very strong and unreliable but otherwise, a great stay.

We loved the location and our cottage so much, we added 2 nights to our pre-season 4-night stay. 100% recommend!

NOW UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!! I put down a $300.00 deposit for September 2025 but the NEW cost was well over $1000.00 more with NO air conditioning. The price to Stay at our favorite cottage for the last 20 years is more than we can afford. Note: the new management refused to refund my $300.00 deposit l paid in September 2024.|BEWARE!!

Seaside is incredible. We have stayed in 6 different cottages in 7 years. Every time we go back, we are not disappointed. The grounds are beautiful and the cottages have everything you need to prepare meals for your family. Kids run and play together. There is no air conditioning, but the cooler temperatures and provided fans make up for that. The staff are friendly and helpful. We look forward to our trip every year. I highly recommend!

I've been staying at Seaside for years and have stayed in several different cottages & have always had a great experience, the staff is friendly & helpful, the grounds are always well kept & the sand on the beach is as soft as silk. All the cottages are unique & have their own charms. With 42 cottages for rent you usually meet people from all over & many of them have been staying there for years, sometimes grown adults will tell you they have been staying there since they were kids on vacation with their family & now bring their own kids. The Skipper restaurant across the street has great food & there are lots of other places to go & see & these cottages are centrally located to do that. In short been there many times & will be going back.|Steve D

Great time at Seaside. I hesitate to write a review as It is best if this place stays somewhat a secret. We had comfortable lodgings, enjoyed cooking at the grill and eating outdoors. It was quiet at night and all the other guests were friendly. The only sound at night was the gentle waves on the beach. Our unit was clean and had plenty of clean towels.

Couldn’t meet a more qualified and professional Staff That Went out of their way to make sure everything was provided and all concerns and questions were addressed immediately !! Will NOT hesitate in returning or recommending them to all our Friends in the future and CANNOT wait until we return !!!!

Second time here in 3 years and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the grounds are immaculate! Each cottage has their own theme and we really enjoyed just staying in #37 that had views of the water throughout. Love being able to walk right into the beach or walk a minute to Skippers. Great choice for toddlers!

Yelp
I wanted to respond to the 2020 review of cottage 9 . Since that review the cottage has been purchased by me . It has been completely renovated from soup to nuts everything is new . Floors , furniture, paint, fixtures , plates , glassware, cookware, decor EVERYTHING. I took great pride in redoing this charming waterfront cottage . New Windows where they were broken and all new window treatments. Please look at the photos . Thank you ! When I stayed there last year I gave tours to long time visitors and everyone wanted to book . Its just beautiful !

Yelp
This was our 3rd stay at seaside cottages. We love the area so much, I can't wait to return for a 4th. With that said, our cottage this trip was a disappointment. The size and layout was great. The upkeep and maintenance and ultimately the cleanliness, left much to be desired. We had to spend some of our own time killing bugs when we arrived in the room. The cottage is old! The cottage needs renovations desperately and when it happens, I am sure it will be lovely but for now I would avoid cottage 7. I emailed pictures of the filth and the bugs to the cottages and they returned with a call where they said they would send the cleaning crew back. They did and all they did was clean the floor. This cottage needs a deep clean and to be renovated to be lovely once again. However, the water view, the peaceful and serene setting is magic! The sand was very seaweed filled which was not the case last year. It only took away from the beauty a bit. The green setting with bbqs and picnic tables is quaint. Reminder that there's no ac unless you stay in the motel area. The location is wonderful!

Yelp
Our go to place on the cape.. Ocean front..cute New England cottages. Be sure to book ahead..reservations fill up quick. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Cape Cod charm

Yelp
Dirty, dirty, noisy, noisy ( could hear man next cabin snoring). Getting your stuff to cabin is a nightmare. You have to park a good distance away the cottages and haul all your "stuff". Bathroom was small and not clean. Staff, what little we saw, not at all helpful or friendly. The whole complex especially the cottages were absolutely NOT as pictured on web site. Would never recommend Seaside to anyone. We stayed 2 nights and it was awful. Glad we didn't stay longer!!! The one & only reason I'm giving it one star if because of closest to the beach! That was the only thing pictured on their web site that was true. Don't trust website pictures & descriptions.

Yelp
Decent place overall but if you are offered #9, refuse it on the spot and insist on another cottage. Run down with broken tiles, broken furniture, broken appliances, broken window blinds, rusted electrical outlets and smells of mold. Miserable place to have to sleep in or spend more than 5 minutes while awake. If you want to spend your money to experience what it must be like to live in an encampment under a highway bridge, then #9 cottage is just right for you. I'm annoyed that I have to even give this 1 star.

Yelp
New remodel, New AC, New WIFI, New fun under the ocean stars! My family was the first ones to stay in these newly remodeled units 1 and 1A. It was perfectly what we were looking for. Every complaint I've seen of the other units didn't exist here! From speaking with the other seaside cottage'ers, unit 1 and 1A are superior in a few different ways. The only units that have conjoining double doorways inside that lock on both sides so they can be completely separate units orrr one large unit for a family to share (two sets of queen beds in each unit). These are the ONLY units to have AIR CONDITIONING in each unit. The air conditioners are these fancy ...things..that look like a painting on the wall, but you press a button and they come out of the wall as an AC. Hard to explain, (See pictures) but pretty awesome for a cottage. Only unit with its own WIFI router which was great, smart tv's in each unit that run off it with Netflix/Hulu and such, or just regular cable!. Full bar strength for WIFI. And last but not least a FULL bathtub. These units are across the street from the other cottages, which means more privacy and your car is close. No rolling luggage across the street. Anyway, I highly recommend. Comfy beds, clean, and quiet, and a stones throw from the beach. Brand new renovation. Loved it!

Yelp
Location was beautiful, but that was the only good thing about this place. Not sure if there was a hanging that fell, but there were three nail type thing coming out of wall in bathroom. A little dangerous blow drying my hair. Recliner back was broken and unusable. Office was notified shortly after check in, and nothing was fixed. If you choose to stay here you will also need to bring your own hangers. Also note there is no air conditioning.

Yelp
I could've stayed in Yarmouth for free in my family's cottage, but I decided instead to stay at Seaside cottages, which is right on the beach. I'm glad with the decision I made. They are a group of 40-odd cottages, many of which are connected side-to-side allowing families to rent adjoining cottages. There seems to have been a lot of attention paid to the layout of the cottages. There are no cars on their side of the street. You have to park on the other side of the street and walk your stuff over onto the grounds. And what lushly landscaped grounds they are. There's no pavement, so you'll be walking on grass to get to your room. The cottages range from studios to 2BR. We booked very late to get a cottage in June (I called in March) so I could only get one cottages one night, and a different cottage the second night. It was so worth it. Some by the beach have an ocean view. Each cottage is a little different from the next. For instance, the bathroom in 10A was, erm, rustic. But 39's bathroom was totally new and redone. Every cottage has a few Adirondack chairs in front of it, meaning you can sit in the sun whenever you want. They have a "private" beach, but to be honest anybody can walk in from the public beach next door. Not that it's a problem. In late June, it was still pretty quiet. The staff in the office were very accomodating when we had to switch rooms, and when my car got a flat tire. You can rent by the night or by the week. Warning - These cottages book VERY far in advance. I mean, I thought I've seen some advance bookings at other places, but this place was reserving rooms for Summer 2009 in March 2008. So book early!

Yelp
Been going here with my family since I was a baby. I'm 26 now and my boyfriend and I go ourselves as well, kept the tradition going! It feels like home to me! Love it! Great vacation spot

Yelp
What an amazing place to stay! Clean, friendly and inviting. Great location in a beautiful location. Nicely maintained with comfortable surroundings inside and out.

Yelp
We come here every year and love Seaside cottages! The grounds and location are awesome. You are located right on the Nantucket Sound and have your own private beach. The cottages are all individually owned and have their own cape cod theme. Management and workers on the property are personable and attentive. If you want a taste of Old Cape Cod, Seaside... A Village On The Ocean is the place.

Janice P.

Yelp
Great location, beach access fantastic, staff very attentive...especially Eddy, the maintenance person. Room needed attention. Sheets were stained and not an acceptable quality; quilt bed spread was stained with brown substance; no air conditioning, which is difficult in high humidity; no window fans provided, had to purchase our own; one window would not stay open...had to be propped open with a picture frame...two other windows would not crank open or closed...had to be pushed or pulled from outside. This is not the quality of accommodation I would expect when paying $1,800 for the room for a week.

Yelp
This place was wonderful! The grounds are located right on the beach and from our cottage (#34 for 5 nights September 2013) we could see the ocean. The grounds are lush and beautiful. My children loved running around. The staff was friendly and everybody we met who were renting were also friendly and seasoned Seaside vacationers (some had been coming for 20 years!). The Cons: #1: The was no couch in the living area just 2 single beds. While I understand the reason for this (increased sleeping space equals more money) it still would've been nice to have a small sofa rather than sitting or lying on a bed. #2: The 2 single beds in the living area were some of the worst mattresses ever. Don't expect to get a good nights sleep. If you have the time, stop by a Walmart or Bed Bath and Beyond on your way down to the Cape and by a mattress topper. I promise, the $100 will be worth it if you are staying for multiple nights. #3: The kitchen appliances were very outdated and the stove top didn't work well with one burner not working at all. #4: No wi-fi in the cottages, however, you can use the wi-fi in the main house lobby. However, the whole point of a Cape vacation is to un-plug so I enjoyed this. All in all, we would definitely return here and would definitely recommend the place. We very much enjoyed our time and appreciated the friendliness of everyone we met.

Rob K.

Yelp
We wanted to stay at the Cape one more day and were lucky enough to find this place. It is a bit expensive - $280 for a cottage that sleeps 4. But you get what you pay for - ocean facing cottage right on the beach. We loved it. We are now planning to schedule our vacation next year right here! Hopefully in the same cottage.

Rob M.

Yelp
Best vacation ever. Quiet and tranquil. True Cape experience!

Yelp
Stayed in unit 22 at Seaside, called Summerwind, and it is a beautiful large unit with an awesome comfy king size bed. The bathroom has a large tub with a nice big skylight, all looks brand new and the kitchen is super clean, and stocked with everything you need if you feel like cooking. We grilled our food on one of the brick/cast iron fireplaces outside our unit, and we ate outside most of the time on our wooden bench. The beach is so super close, you hear the waves, the sand is soft and warm and the water clear and refreshing. It's like coming to heaven. Look at the Seaside website to see which cottages are available, and call the office for advise if you are not sure. All the cottages are so conveniently located, near, next or aside the beach, but the insides are all very different. We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful time, and we will surely return here when we have some time off again.

Yelp
Love the view! From your cottage you see green grass, sand, and water. You can walk to the beach in about thirty seconds (which is private) or sit back on your personal Adirondack chairs or lounge chairs (with a beautiful view of the beach) It's just a short drive to Rte.28 and West Yarmouth (mini-golf!). Inside the cottages is very beachey and my cottage (Sailors Rest) had a bed, a pull-out couch, flat screen TV, and bathroom with shower. Perfect place to relax after a exiting day.
