Finolhu, a Seaside Collection Resort

An absolutely outstanding stay at Finolhu Maldives from start to finish. Everything was truly exceptional and exceeded expectations in every way. As with all resorts in the Maldives, it is expensive — but in this case, the money is genuinely well spent. The island is stunning, beautifully designed, and perfectly maintained, striking a perfect balance between luxury and relaxed island vibes. The villas are spacious, stylish, and immaculately clean, with incredible attention to detail. The service deserves special mention: warm, attentive, and genuinely caring without ever feeling intrusive. The food was excellent across all restaurants, with great variety and consistently high quality. The only minor drawbacks are that the nearby coral reef is not as impressive as at some other Maldivian resorts, and the activities are on the expensive side. That said, these points do little to detract from an otherwise exceptional experience. Overall, Finolhu delivers a memorable and high-end Maldivian escape, and it’s easy to see why so many guests return.

I really liked the hotel. It has beautiful beaches and calm waters in the lagoon, perfect for exploring the underwater world. The restaurants are excellent, and I especially recommend Crab Shek and Kanusan – the crabs are delicious! The staff is very attentive and caring, and everyone is friendly. The villas (we had a beach villa without a pool) are comfortable and the cleaning is excellent. The food in the main restaurant is excellent, including fish and seafood, appetizers, salads, and delicious desserts.

Finolhu was by far the best resort we stayed at in the Maldives, and we visited quite a few. It all started with Ismail, who greeted us upon arrival and took exceptional care of us throughout our stay. He was always just a quick text away and helped us with absolutely everything we wanted or needed.||The water villa was spotless every single time we returned, thanks to our wonderful attendant,” C”it was always beautiful and such a pleasure to come back to. The food at the restaurant… wow. Simply incredible. Our amazing bar attendant , Sushima, was incredibly kind and attentive as well and took care of us with all things we wanted. ||Thank you to everyone at the restaurant and bar for being so helpful and attentive - it truly made our stay special. This was easily one of the best resort dining experiences I’ve ever had. The beach, pool, bars, entertainment, daily activities, and the island itself are absolutely stunning.||We would recommend this resort to everyone!

Finolhu was the perfect destination for our wedding anniversary. It balances luxury and refinement with relaxation, not being too fussy and allowing you to indulge in whatever mood takes you. The island is pristine - the clearest water and beautiful facilities all extremely well maintained. The variety and quality of food is sensational and we particularly liked the Crab Shack and the Japanese restaurant. A few surprises were the butler service, ready always to pick us up from our room and take us anywhere on the island. We also didnt realise how accessible the snorkelling would be - straight out from the over-water villas and the current gently drifts you back along the drop-off, to the island. Over seven nights we had plenty to do including day trips to see the Manta Rays, jet skiing with dolphins and exploring the island facilities. We went for the premium all-inclusive package and were always so full that we barely touched the mini-bar (which is also included). Finally, the staff are so welcoming and friendly. They go the extra mile to ensure you are well looked after and take a huge amount of pride in their work. Look forward to our next trip and although it was an indulgence, the memories are priceless.

I had the most incredible time here! There is a wide variety of activities on offer, and the island boasts an amazing environment—every corner feels like a postcard come to life. The staff were also so attentive and kind, making my stay truly unforgettable. We had a magnificent holiday at Finolhu. Baa Atol is a very special place. From the moment we were greeted until departure you want for nothing. The friendliness and professionalism of the team is exemplary. Special thanks to our lovely and dedicated butler Reema who organised everything beautifully. Also special mention to Sashiwin, Shaif, Umars, Akil, Akoo, Nabhaan and Sonny. Our Food and wine experience was outstanding.

When you leave a two week holiday, wedding and honeymoon all rolled into one in floods of tears, you know a place has truly captured your heart. The tears began on arrival too, as we landed to one of the most breathtaking views we’ve ever seen. |Being welcomed with the warmest smiles instantly made us feel at home, creating the most wonderful first impression and perfectly setting the tone for everything that followed.||Our only complaint is that two weeks simply wasn’t long enough. The service, food, and drinks are beyond exceptional. From the very first moment, you are so beautifully looked after and genuinely made to feel part of the Finolhu family.||There are a few truly special people we would love to mention, those who made our holiday, wedding, and honeymoon unforgettable.||Ilf, our Roohu, was simply incredible. Friendly, calm, and endlessly attentive, nothing was ever too much trouble. He made sure we were booked into every restaurant, never missed a single experience, and always went above and beyond. It was a pleasure learning about Maldivian culture through him, and no question was ever an inconvenience.||The Crab Shack boys — Samey, Upul, and Fahudu. Wow! These guys went above and beyond in every sense. We couldn’t wait to return for lunch each day and be greeted by their warm, welcoming faces. Their knowledge, energy, and service are genuinely world class, and it was also lovely to see them at Arabian Grill and Kanusan. We arrived shortly after difficult weather caused by the cyclone in Sri Lanka, which had deeply affected some of the staff, something you would never have known, as they continued to give 100% at all times. They are a true credit to Finolhu, and we hope we are lucky enough to cross paths again.||Ali & Munia were always a joy to see. Munia greeted us each morning at breakfast and at Kanusan with the warmest smile, while watching Ali effortlessly speak so many languages to guests was truly impressive. Two genuinely lovely people who always stood out.||Saif, the man who somehow always knew exactly when we needed a Passion Pit cocktail. We were so well looked after at the beach bar, drinks always topped up and our favourites never forgotten.||Umurs & Sashwin created some of the most lasting and memorable moments of our entire stay. Umurs was constantly checking in, making sure everything was perfect, always fun, friendly, and a joy to talk to. And Sashwin, our sommelier and wedding minister all in one, was nothing short of exceptional. His knowledge, attention to detail, and customer service are truly world class. From perfectly paired wines and champagne to the most delicious cocktails, we were never without a drink. His personality radiates, and he has left an everlasting impression on us.||Each and every one of these people played such a special role in what was the most perfect holiday of our lives. Beautiful resort, generous size rooms, food was excellent throughout the resort which is very important and the staff were fantastic. Snorkeling was okay. House reef wasn’t in very good condition but are trying to bring it back. There was still plenty of fish and sharks to see.
