destination.
The Lewis & Clark Expedition
Exhibit tells you about the
effort to identify the site
of the salt works in Seaside.
The other exhibits include
the Seaside Signal Newspaper
Linotype machine, the
1912 fire that burned through
the town, the development
of the Prom, old hotels,
and much more.
The Butterfield Cottage
tour shows you the rooms
as they were used in a
boarding house with a
number of vintage exhibits
and items.
Located on Necanium Drive
across from the river and
near Broadway.
Admission is free and
donations are suggested.

Loved the display of history life on the area. Well kept and nicely presented, with friendly local that answered questions and took is to tour the attacked historic cottage. Revoked to visit.

Very interesting facts and the host of the museum was very kind. He even found records of a cousin-in-law's ancestor who helped with the first lumber mill and was in the city counsel.

Wow! Larger than it looks, quite extensive in its descriptions and displays! Major events, earliest visitors, city life, transportation. Seaside has a long history of vacationers, with many unique issues along the way. I learned a lot. Spent about 90 minutes, could've been more. Donation for entry fee.
