Good selection of food on offer from seven different restaurants. You can pick from a mid of all, as long as you don’t mind them coming at different times (we didn’t mind this at all). Good selection of wines - available by glass and bottle. Attentive and friendly service for the entire duration of our stay. Nice summer vibes with a DJ playing, sun shining, fresh and and seaside feel. Was not so busy when we arrived around 12:30, but packed with a long line when we left a couple of hours later.

We came here spontaneously after visiting the little mermaid. The concept of seven different kitchen is quite unique. We had about 6 snacks or small dishes to share and they were delicious. The location out on the terrace is terrific, we enjoyed or stay very much. Professional and friendly staff. Only downside it's a bit pricey.

We picked the perfect day to visit this seaside restaurant by the pier—the sun was shining, and the venue’s large glass windows created a bright summer vibe. The spacious interior added to the relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a long meal by the water. They were running a shellfish festival deal, which we couldn’t pass up. Service was polite but not particularly remarkable, due to them feeling a bit rushed and confused during our visit, with a few mistakes to the order. That being said, the food more than made up for any service hiccups. The shellfish platter was incredible—a generous spread of shrimp, blue mussels, scallops, snow crab legs, along with delicious dips, fresh bread, and crispy fries on the side. Every bite was packed with fresh, oceanic flavors, and enjoying it while gazing out at the water made the experience even more special. While the service could be improved, the food and ambiance were top-notch. If you’re looking for a great seafood meal with a stunning seaside view, this place is definitely worth a visit!

I don't understand why this place is so underrated. You can choose food from seven different spots, each offering a different cuisine. We tried the oysters, the moules frites, and the Argentinian beef steak — everything was excellent. The view through the canal is also beautiful. I highly recommend it!

Google
Great concept of 7 kitchens to mix and match from. Plates are a bit on the small side although that works to taste more than one place. All food was excellent. Lovely location and decor plus friendly staff. Would recommend to make a reservation

Google
Fantastic location with a great view over the water and Copenhagen. We were sitting outside to get this view, but you can also sit inside, which looks very cozy as well 👌 The food is great, but the timing in getting the food was very bad. 2 of us got the starters first, then the last starter came (only when asked for it) when the first main dish was served. The last to main dishes came after the first main dish was half done (even tho we waited, but didn't want to eat cold food). Will give it another go and see if it was just an unlucky day 😊

Google
Great place by the pier! The concept combines 7 kitchens in vibrant and fresh atmosphere. We only picked few drinks and fell in love!

Located by the water with beautiful views, Seaside Toldboden is an ideal spot for a great meal. The food is incredible, especially the seafood platters and fish dishes. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff is very helpful. Will definitely be returning!

Yelp
This spot had views. If you are interested in the ambiance of the a spot check this one out for sure. This spot is similar to food halls in the US. So there are different stalls and each stall has its own offering. During this era of covid, we quickly found a table, scanned the QR code to order but it was a bit confusing when we first got there as we weren't sure what the protocol was. A wait staff eventually came to our table and explained how to order. We ordered from a Japanese place and got seasoned fries. They were good but not spectacular. However, the view was pretty amazing. We were seated indoors but could imagine on a nice sunny day being outdoors and enjoying the sun and the close proximity to the harbor.

Yelp
Visited Toldboden on constitution day (june 5, 2020) only to discover that the new (?) owners have downgraded the food quality and waiters and increased the prices. Not a desirable combo... The view is still amazing though, but don't have high hopes for a culinary experience. Actually I would recommend to go to the Løgismose store next door, buy a quality bottle of wine and some tapas and snacks and seat yourself on the chairs/benches next to Toldboden. Then you get great wine, food, view and ambience without being robbed.

Yelp
Who would have guessed that close to the little mermaid is a very touristy spot to have a quick bite. Don't get mw wrong, it is not bad and the staff is super nice, but it is average, high prices food (for the value), wrapped into a fancy laid back atmosphere. You get what you order but the food is not that special. Our dishes ( Fish and chips, fish pie, lobster hotdog and spare ribs) helped us to get rid of our hunger but we did not grave for more. I can recommend it for a stop to close that whole in your stomach, but Copenhagen has much better places to offer.

Yelp
The absolute BEST fish and chips I've ever tried. It is expensive but worth it. You get a full plate of food and is very fulfilling. My friend and I are in awe and now have very high standards for fish and chips. I also had the Chardonnay they recommend with the plate and it was delicious. The service is great with the employees very nice and helpful. The area is beautiful and the decor is nice. I could go on and on about how much I enjoy this restaurant but I think you should stop reading this and go grab a drink or a meal or both right now!!!! 11/10 All in all great in all aspects including food, drinks, service, location, etc.

Yelp
We had reservations for a party of 10. Orders are placed on your iPhone but at our table the waiter took some orders and some were by phone. Some dinners arrived but after 2 hours 3 dinners hadn't been served. we spoke with the waiter and manager. The staff is not trained at all. We never once got an apology nor were comped anything! its a fun place but none of us will return.

Yelp
Toldboden is an amazing spot for sunny days and vino/beer. The atmospheres is sophisticated yet relaxed and the food and drinks complimentory. Located right on the pier overviewing the Operahouse, the Royal Ship, Old Danish military ships and other cool sights. Food is quite good although their portions are small yet tasty. Tonight, I had the pleasure of having the lobster, in the late afternoon sun with a glas of Austrian white. Pure bliss. Only minus was the lack of the right cutlery for eating lobster. I survived though;) PS. The place is Dog-Friendly.

Yelp
Expensive mediocre food. The waiter put the previous customers bill on mine and could not refund back to credit card. Does not look like the owner treats its staff well.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food here. I got a shrimp Po'boy. Being a Cajun from Louisiana I was excited to try this Danish spin on a Cajun meal. It was good. I also enjoyed the ambiance. I sat outside and watched the people come and go and listened to the music. The bartender was great, suggested a Mojito which was really good. They do this weird thing where they slap the mint to make the Mojito. The only reason I did not give this place a 5 star rating is because the food is VERY slow to come. After I ordered they gave me a pager and I went and checked on my food after 20 min. The guy pushing the food out told me the food take a minimum of 30 minutes to come out. I finally got mine after waiting for 38 minutes after I ordered. If you have time and don't mind the wait, it's a great place.

Yelp
Cool place and has potential to be better as the location and views are amazing . However , the ordering system in your phone is clunky and is quite difficult to get bar drinks as you aren't really assigned a waitress. Good comes out when it is ready - doesn't make a difference if you get your meal first then your entree. This causes problems as your dining partners will be done with their meals as you're waiting for yours.

Yelp
Severely over-hyped and over-priced. A real shame when this could be such a Xanadu. The location is perfect. Wedged between the swankiest part of downtown CPH, the harbor, and one of the most-covetted parks in town. You can feel the expectation levels rise as you close in on the place, it looks amazing! A lot of people will enjoy sitting in the generous outside area, just for the aesthetics of it. And if you make do with coffee, wine or cocktails, you'd probably be quite satisfied. The first time I was here with friends, we sat outside. We ordered and paid for our food at the bar, and took the little electronic keeper back to the table. When it lit up and beeped, we went to get our food, and when we were visibly confused about a missing platter, one of the chefs barked angrily that it was on its way. There went one star. Four women, four different dishes - none of us were quite satisfied, and one was even still so hungry after her meal that she ordered another one. That's just sad, considering the price. The food was okay, but nothing to write home about. Flash forward some months, I swing by with my family on a sunny weekend day. It's cool out, so we go inside. The brunch looks nice but super pricey, so we go for 2x shrimp po' boys, 1x fish n chips, and a vegetarian platter for my 12 yr. old vegetarian. We have one drink each, and the total is more than if we went out for dinner at our favorite Thai. Ouch. We find a spot to sit, which is nice and has a view, but the acoustics are terrible and we can hardly hear each other without shouting. That's another star. The fried shrimp in the po' boys is still raw despite having been battered and fried. It's tasty enough, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be raw or cooked through with makes the experience a little exciting. Luckily there are no adverse reactions later in the day. There are fries and a lot of fresh greens to go with it. And a mango sauce which is tasty but doesn't quite match the rest of the platter. The fish and chips are good, and plentiful! My eldest son is happy and can't finish it. The vegetarian is forlorn. He's only 12, and very adamant about not eating animals or fish, and this platter was the only option for him. It's pretty scandalous. The price was 110kr I think, and all he got was fries, mushed peas, and the same greens as the rest of us. The greens have been washed, but they're not prepared in any way, so it's basically raw radishes with stalks, slices of raw striped beets, dill, kale and the like. No dressing or anything. It looked like the food we feed the neighbor's rabbit when they're out of town. That was it. Toldboden must learn to do better for vegetarians. That was the third star to go. TL;DR: Toldboden is fine for outdoors coffee/drinks. Inside acoustics are awful, the food looks pretty but it's terribly hit and miss with no good vegetarian options. Big spenders will probably enjoy the brunch if they employ headsets to communicate for the duration.

Yelp
Awful food with poor service and very overpriced. Charged us for tap water ?! Don't recommend

Yelp
We stumbled upon this amazing restaurant/bar/beergarden after a day of walking around Norrebro and Nyhavn and it couldn't been more perfect. Buzzing with people on a sunny Friday evening, Toldboden looked most inviting, with long benches outside, a DJ whipping up tunes and happy mainly Danish people just out of the office ringing in the weekend. You can reserve a table for the restaurant part but not for outside, so just show up and hope for the best. It is rather sophisticated but it's Copenhagen after all. You order your food and drinks for the beergarden at the bar, pay, get a buzzer and when your food is ready you head back in and collect it. This works really well and the queues aren't too long. Like everywhere else, you can pay by card. We got some white wine and beer, fish and chips and fresh prawns with a couple of dips. Everything was so fresh and tasty. If you find yourself in Copenhagen on a sunny day, go and check this place out.

Yelp
This is a very casual restaurant. Good for brunch. Closed to the mermaid.

Yelp
Offering a lot more than breakfast and fish and chips, this waterfront spot is a great place to meet friends and colleagues in the afternoon. There are two bars that can cater to both indoor and outdoor seating. The wine and beer lists are extensive, and there is some good food to order but the fish and chips do look good, We got lucky as there was a gratis rosy wine sample going on when we arrive, which sort of cannibalized their normal bar program. Lots of good people watching here and an even better opportunity to soak up some local culture, so be sure and stop by if you are on a seashore walk and pass by. By the way, the famed Little Mermaid sculpture in honor of Hans Christian Andersen is just down the walking road so grab a drink and have your buzz ready when you visit the small yet touristy sculpture. Say cheese!

Yelp
Great brunch but a bit pricey for the few amount of dishes to choose from. Some dishes in the brunch was really good, I particularly liked the sausage with chili mayo sauce. Many of the dishes felt warm and not dry as can be the case in some brunches. The pancakes and waffles were the only food disappointing me (they were cold, dry and were not made on demand) It's really a good brunch with some dessert options - the ice cream had melted and tasted synthetically but the other options were tasty. To give it a higher grade would require a larger variety on the dishes, more dessert options to choose from and better pancakes (would rather make them myself). Kind staff and good service level.

Yelp
If I hadn't eaten, I'd probably give 5 stars. They really have a nerve to serve same fried chips as in McDonald's for these prices. 210kr for 250g of fried cod, pre-cooked chips, some stripes of vegetables (carrot and celery) and a little cup of some green dip. Also ordered the Fish-cakes (another scam) that didn't really taste like fish. Oh... no waiters!!! Rather that this, the place is fantastic and on a perfect location. Drinks are slightly prissy, but nothing unexpected for CPH.

Yelp
Great place for large group of people to hang :) The food was average but the ambiance was exceptional. We had such a good time here, whether it be wrapping ourselves with blankets in the wind or dancing with live music with strangers. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area.

Yelp
So I guess I won't be too objective on this review cause I visited toldboden in names of fashion week, but here it goes! Awesomeness on every aspect! 4 stars just because the club turned into a sauna after a while and dancing became very hard (or at least a very sweaty thing to do)!! So we were there for the closing party of fashion week. They had turned this into a club and there were four large bars and lots of good looking people. I haven't seen such a fancy crowd in Copenhagen ever again! It was quite expensive as expected and there was not much choice. It was beer (50dkk), spirits (for 100dkk) and then bottles of champaign or spirits and if I remember right it was sth like 1000dkk. Anyway, I am planning to go to a regular day to eat or have a coffee there as it seemed like a great, spacious and nicely designed place. I am a bit sad I hadn't really heard about it before this. Seems like it's not very known to the crowd. When I visit again I will rewrite my review, a review of the regular day.

Yelp
We were here for a large (70+ people) Sunday brunch. It was a beautiful, sunny day (you know how rare these are in Copenhagen!) and everyone was out have a great time, watching the boats go by in addition to great people watching. The brunch had a very large selection, from salads and meats, pastas, pancakes, fish, fresh rye breads, beverages of all kinds and desserts. Danish/International theme. As a buffet style setup you are free to take what you want, no waiting, with seating at long communal tables which were perfect for our large group. I would say the quality of the food was significantly above average for any type of buffet that I have had, only surpassed by the salad buffet at Fogo de Chao (Brazilian churrascaria).

Yelp
One of my favorite places to people watch and enjoy the boat traffic on the canal. Toldboden offers good cocktails and cold wine, beer. A perfect place to soak up the sun with a cold beverage on a sunny day. Long tables for groups or loungers near the water. House music chill by a DJ weekend evenings. Upscale crowd, but casual enough. Fish and chips are good if spendy. Big brunch on weekends.

Yelp
I love the location of the place, I came with my coworkers who all ordered fish and chips. I wasn't too hungry so I just got frites with remoulade. Holy crap are the portions huge for 40 kr! I couldn't even finish it, it was like a plate full of endless fries. I love how close it is to kastellet and its nice to just sit outside and have a drink or two with your fries. They should offer more of a selection besides fish and chips..
google avatar

Gary Z.

Yelp
The food was mediocre and overpriced tourist fare. The homemade smoked salmon was good, but not worth the wait or the price. The carrot juice was interesting and the bathrooms were nice and clean. I would only eat here in a starvation emergency.
google avatar

Diana O.

Yelp
Great brunch (when there manage to refill), and awesome location, but don't expect good service. You have to pay before you sit (ok, everyone is different), but I guess that's their way of getting your money and...yeah, getting your money.
google avatar

Mikkel J.

Yelp
I will give this place 1 star for it's atmosphere. It gets 1 star for the food. 1 star for its prices. It looses 1 star because the staff never ever smiles. And it looses 1 star because the waiters are so slow.

Charles M.

Yelp
Excellent brunch. An all you can eat, fixed price buffet with large open plan seating and nice views of the water. Would recommend

Nicole R.

Yelp
I ordered the squid and I must say that was good. The squid itself was nicely cooked and the fries that came with it as well although they did resemble something you could order at McDonald's. However my grandmother discovered that the decorative beet leaves on our plates (complete with roots) had not been washed and had bugs and rocks. In addition, the salad had lettuce obviously eaten by bugs. At the prices they charge this should not happen. They seem severely understaffed. To top it off, the reclaimed wood table very nearly gave my a splinter under my nail and had loose broken glass in a hole in it. However aside from this, the decorations are lovely and the view is amazing.
