I live in Perth and had a very important four hour online interview scheduled at 5 am so I have decided to book a hotel room to be away from distractions. I paid $160 for one night. The receptionist wasn't welcoming at all. All I heard from him was:"ID AND A CREDIT CARD PLEASE". He hasn't explained that I'll be charged $300 in case I damage something, he just asked me to proceed with the payment. I know, it's a normal procedure though I'd like to be informed about what I'm making a payment for. Also, I had to wait at least 20 minutes to be checked in.
Once I've made the payment I was given an envelope with the card, the receptionist didn't drop a word regarding where I could find the room and the floor I'm staying at. By the way, it's a 4 star hotel.
The room was clean and okay overall, but it was terribly cold. I had to study there for 2 hours freezing to death and hoping the air-conditioning is going to work until I realised it's broken. I had to drive back home at 11 pm to get some warm clothes.
As a conclusion, it was a stressful experience, when I was looking for a stress free environment. I haven't received a $300 refund yet, though it's been 3 business days and I was very cold during my stay.
I will never ever stay at this hotel again and will never recommend it to anyone.
