Liked: Amazing site for us as a VW campervan. We were at the far end looking up the valley...with limited hardstanding. September found us struggling for traction in the morning. Thankful to another camper (thank you Rob!) for giving us a run up to the slate mines so we didn't miss our activity but of course, most of all to Daniel for arriving later when we were back to pull us out with the tractor! Brilliant views from our pitch however. Toilets and washing up an easy walk from there and right next to some of the other pitches. We enjoyed a raised campfire by the river in the evening. Showers (3 of them) glorious, not too far a walk (a few mins), and half of the walk is along the "shower trail" through the site (so you join the road at the junction). Perfectly placed for activities up at Honister slate mines, plenty of walks around, and hills for those of us bike riders who live in Cambridgeshire! The Yew Tree Inn is also well worth a visit! We enjoyed the space and peace and quiet and will be back for longer next time! Disliked: Owning a heavy campervan and getting stuck in September damp conditions. Took it in our stride though and thanks to Dan for pulling us out!

Liked: Beautiful site in a fantastic location with clearly marked and generous pitches. On arrival we were welcomed at our pitch by the owner DESPITE them having only welcomed a little one to the world a day prior! Lovely shower facilities, albeit a stroll from the main site, it is a lovely stroll! Reluctant to enthuse much more lest it make it impossible to book in future! Fabulous.

Liked: Location is great, very near to Scafell pike for hiking! Toilets and wash up areas are suitably equipped and were clean and tidy. Pitches were well labelled. Pretty easy to find too! Disliked: Some of the pitches seemed better than others, luckily wasn’t busy so had our pick of a decent one

Liked: We had the most amazing few days at seatoller! All the facilities were lovely and clean! I had seen a few reviews mention that the shower block was a walk from the site but personally loved that short walk (2/3 minutes) to the showers along the river and didn’t find it an issue at all! The host was so kind and welcoming, checking on guests everyday and was extremely accommodating. The local pub was fantastic and we had such wonderful food there! We also enjoyed walking to the fairy pools and found that the sites close proximity to those was just wonderful! We will definitely be coming again! Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Beautiful location. Very peaceful. Polite owners. Good and clean wash/toilet facilities. Disliked: The area I pitched my tent was under trees with a lot of roots so it was a challenge getting tent pegs in. I’m a novice camper so I’m sure there are ways around this or better pitches on site.

Liked: The simplicity of the check-in process allowed us to quickly pitch up our tent and get settled into the campsite straight away. Daniel, along with the notice boards (near the toilets) clearly provided all the necessary information we needed to know during our stay. All facilities were clean, well lit and provided everything you would need. The showers especially, although a short walking distance, were great. Raised blocks (atleast on our pitch) were already provided to raise campfires and BBQs from the grass. Amazing location. You really feel immersed in the mountains, it was very peaceful (not sure if this was due to the time of year). Spacious and level pitches. Disliked: Nothing to complain about.

Liked: Great little campsite in a perfect location for exploring the nearby fells. Clean facilities with spacious hot showers. Pitches are clearly marked out providing ample “out of tent” space. Disliked: Short walk to shower facilities

Liked: Stunning surroundings. Really decent bloke who runs it - very friendly and helpful. Very well organised setup on site - pitches are divided up and space to park your car next to your pitch. Beautiful river next to some of the pitches. Great location for hiking - accessible to various routes from the site without needing to drive. Firepits permitted - handy because I cook my meals on mine. Just don't burn the grass! Disliked: Only criticism is that the showers are not on site - bit of walk away at the farm, but fine if you don't mind the walk.
