"Get Cozy at the Gaslight Inn Want to stay conveniently close to downtown Seattle 's attractions without paying downtown-Seattle hotel prices? Or would you rather be a short walk away from Capitol Hill's vibrant shopping, eating, and bar scene? Either way, the Gaslight Inn B&B is an affordable option. Located in Capitol Hill (it's right on the #10 bus line that goes through the Hill and downtown in about 10 min.), the Gaslight has eight rooms, including two that are for single guests. Amenities include a heated pool, free wifi, the owners' art collection, a library, and free continental breakfast. From the Gaslight, you're just a block away from French patisserie Bakery Nouveau and the dining and shopping options on 15th Street, and it's a short walk to the Pike/Pine area that's the heart of Capitol Hill. Also walkable are Cal Anderson Park and Volunteer Park, where the Seattle Asian Art Museum is located. You can't beat the Gaslight's central location as a home base for your Seattle exploration."

I never write public reviews and hesitated to further expose this gem of a hotel. The house is gorgeous, the atmosphere is warm, cozy and welcoming, the pool and backyard area are adorable. I especially enjoyed sitting on my balcony with the jasmine blooming and smelling so good in summer. The Gaslight is in a great neighborhood spot, close to anything you'd need and a great jumping off point. The room was completely comfortable. I felt like I was at a family member's house, and thus slept very well considering I was passing through on business trip. I will stay again if I'm in Seattle!

The Gaslight Inn was around 20-30 minute walk to downtown, in lovely area near shops and restaurants. The best bit……the hosts Ryan and Joelle and their beautiful children. They were fantastic. Made it a home from home for us, nothing was too much trouble! We loved it so much we booked again for next year. Well worth the trip from the UK! See you next year! Em & Anthony.

We received a warm welcome from Lucy. The Inn is in a residential area of Seattle, not far from shops, restaurants and places of interest. Our room was clean and comfortable with a patio from which beautiful sunsets can be seen. The pool and outside seating area was fantastic. A suntrap, sheltered from the wind. A healthy breakfast is available. Ryan and family have made the Inn a choice place to stay in Seattle.

Super hosts, really loved our stay here. The pool was excellent. Everything was to a high standard. Lovely big, light spaces to sit and read. Room big and very clean. Good location, easy to walk to downtown though uphill walk back up. Very happy memory of Seattle and so much better than a generic hotel-style stay. Thank you.

Google
This is a lovely craftsman style inn and home in a fantastic location in Seattle. The owners are very friendly and helpful. If you are traveling in June be sure to check when Seattle pride is happening as the house is located in a lively gayborhood. And if you are going to Seattle specifically for Pride this is a great place to stay to be close to everything but also be able to get few blocks away and enjoy some down time by the pool

My family booked the entire Inn so that we could all stay together for my wedding in February 2025. It was perfect! The hosts were extremely kind and helpful. The space was charming, beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. We hosted our rehearsal dinner here and it was wonderful. The location is excellent. We were so happy with how it turned out and our guests were delighted.

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Gaslight Inn, and we had such a wonderful experience. The location was ideal for our trip, with business on Capitol Hill and, to top it off, it's right next to one of our favorite bakeries and Thai restaurants! The Inn itself is absolutely charming. We opted for a room with a private patio and bathroom, which was perfect for us. There were plenty of cozy seating areas on the main floor, and on the floor where our room was, we appreciated the filtered water station and ice machine. Our host was incredibly kind, and we even got to meet Neo, the adorable resident cat, who greeted us warmly. The cozy dining room offered a lovely selection of yogurt, fruit, granola, tea, and coffee. We’re already looking forward to our next stay at The Gaslight Inn when business brings us back to the area!

My sister and I had the good fortune of staying at the Gaslight Inn in early May. The good fortune was discovering how perfect the location was for exploring Seattle. I was also visiting my son who had recently moved to Capitol Hill. Ryan was a super help to us with suggestions for restaurants and areas to explore and he welcomed my son to the area which really made my stay. Transit is easy to access and truly solves the need for a car in the city. In other words you can park the car and leave it. Do yourself a favor and get theTransitGo app to purchase and pay for your tickets. I have stayed in many B&B’s and properties similar to the Gaslight and usually expect the noise intrusion of an older building. The biggest surprise was how solid this house was and I had great sleep each night despite other guest comings and goings. As an Inn they make it clear that they do not serve the traditional B&B type breakfasts. They do however have quick and easy breakfast items available. This was not at all a problem for me as the routine 8:30 breakfasts that B&B serve were never convenient if I wanted to get out and explore. And really you must experience Bakery Nouveau which is in with walking distance. No kidding really it’s amazing. At the risk of sounding cliché the Gaslight Inn really did feel like home away from home.

Yelp
This beautiful old house has been converted to a homey inn with a large and welcoming common space. Rooms are decent sized with room for suitcases, and beds are comfortable, though the bathrooms and showers are rather small. Neighborhood is fairly quiet, but an area with good restaurants, bakeries, and quirky shopping is only a few blocks away. No parking lot on site, so you may have to drive around the block to find a space, but I always found one nearby. They have parking passes so guests can park in spaces that have 90 minute limits. Hosts are friendly and share a wealth of information about the neighborhood. Note: They do have a friendly cat who spends some time in the common rooms.

Yelp
From the outside, this place is nice and is a great location. On the inside the ceiling fan was dirty and there were spatter marks above the trash on the walls. The walls had been damaged and then painted over (vs actually replacing the dry wall and painting) The place needs a deep clean/repair. They have cats coming in and out of the hotel. We are allergic to cats. The family that manages the place lives below and their baby stuff inside the hotel. The over all vibe is a mix of daycare center meets animal shelter meets old house. We could hear people stomping up and down the stairs at all hours. We won't be back.

Yelp
I can't thank Joelle and Ryan enough for their hospitality. The Seattle Gaslight Inn is a quaint inn, delightfully restored with amazing wood accents. Joelle and Ryan are warm and friendly and run this charming inn. Every room was quaint; the pool area was lovely. The Capital Hill area was delightful. Just a couple of blocks to walk to and there are lovely shops and restaurants. I took the only room available and while I was hesitant to share a bathroom, it worked out perfect. The room was woodsy and comfortable, complete with a frig, blow dryer and robe. There's nothing more I could've wanted. Ryan even helped me upstairs with my 49 pound luggage, and I was grateful. The shared restroom was updated and I had a great shower. They had plenty of soaps and towels; this couple thought of it all. Breakfast was terrific with fresh fruit, yogurt, croissants, and likable guests to share conversation. I used Lyft to go to Pike's Market, which was really close. This inn is in the perfect location. My only regret is...wishing I could stay there longer. The Inn was so special.

Yelp
Had a great experience at this lovely inn. The Gaslight is incredibly close to everything and it's a great place to retreat to at the end of a long day. The property has a lovely pool area if you want to chill out and relax and the owners are very personable and accommodating. If you're heading to Seattle and want a more intimate experience than a hotel, give it a shot.

Yelp
Okay, yes it's in a decent location, the pool was a plus as it was a rare hot summer day! Lovely old Home! We were greeted by a woman in a dirty/stained clothes. The man was equally disheveled, but pleasant. The bed needed mich more padding, the pillows were shamefully HARD. Dusty window sills, white powder on the bathroom floor, soap dish broken. Getting ice is a wait. I've stayed in B & B's the world over. When I think of the breakfasts homemade everything comes to mind. Coffee Tea, Muffins, quiche, fruit, waffle's, meat & cheeses you get the idea. Coffee mate, Tea? Store bought croissant, fruit bowl, hard-boiled eggs after we were done. Just like Best Western only cleaner! The kitchen was shamefully dirty, the floors had debris scattered around There were signs asking for additional compensation for the eXtra hard work My tip is start over and do it again. Just not worth the price and worry (about the probability of our car broken into).

Yelp
BEWARE!!! I booked this for August 2023 and was charged $115.97 in April, causing me to incur an overdraft fee at the bank since my credit cards are automatically paid off each month, and I didn't expect to be charged as soon as I booked it. My plans change a lot so I never book a place that can't be changed or cancelled. I cancelled and received a credit for $80.97 in May,2023. I talked to many booking.com representatives over the months and they all I should receive my $35 due back because it was cancelled 3 months before the 14 day deadline. The first time I called the Inn,I spoke to an intern who said the owners were on holiday and would return the following day. I waited at least a week because this would have been their busy Labor Day, and I was told they charge a $35 cancellation fee and I should have known that. It does not say that anywhere on their booking.com site!!!

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful place! The beautiful home caught my eye when I was looking for a place to stay for a few days. Historic home, original fixtures, beautifully maintained finishes, period-specific furnishings, and well-loved and manicured grounds immediately take one in. A sense of peace and cozy, inner warmth were consistent elements the whole time I was there. Apart from the home's beauty, wonderful amenities, and pristine cleanliness, the lovely new owners are, without a doubt, the reason the Inn shines as it does. Their sincere efforts at making the place welcoming and comfortable create a joyful sense of belonging. Their sweet children's laughter occasionally rang through the first floor. One or the other parent would laugh alongside the children. Breakfast was served in a welcoming - but hands off - manner that made me feel both welcomed and happily private. I am grateful this sweet family welcomed me into their home. Very different from a hotel experience, I got the peaceful rest I was hoping for, and my soul feels happier for the time it got to spend "at home" in the Gaslight Inn.

Yelp
The Gaslight Inn is a wonderful B&B that transports you back one hundred years with its ambiance and decor, all very tastefully done. Our room (104) was the original masters suite that included a large bedroom and bathroom along with a good sized sitting room with a lovely fireplace, two leather chairs and a desk. Relaxing in front of a roaring fire while enjoying a glass of wine after a typical Seattle rainy day was most enjoyable. The fireplace is equipped with a timer, that makes it nice/romantic to snuggle and fall asleep to. The staff does double or is it triple duty from concierge and beyond. It's location was perfect for us to explore Seattle. The staff made spot on recommendations for dining and for both the unusual and unique attractions. The Underground Tour is one that cannot be missed. We are already planning our next trip to Seattle and once again staying at the Gaslight Inn.

Yelp
Called to make a reservation for an emergency trip and literally got hung up on. the website for the inn seemed to be down and not working from the external booking, so of course call. The gentleman's exact words were "I don't know man, our websites working, you're going to have to figure it out on your own " And they proceeded to rudely and abruptly hang up on me. "It's 10:45pm here man, I'm about to go to bed can this wait till the morning"! You complainer, I'm about to drive 16hrs off 5hrs of sleep! horrible customer service

Yelp
The owner is an inconsiderate asshole I'm a brand new company that's based over and hour away from here in the middle of Seattle he told me my parking won't work and I asked if he was leaving and said I have no problem moving it there are tweakers passing every 30 seconds to a minute my lock broke on my truck this morning and I'm a single member Christian owned company trying to provide for my family I would like to not have to shoot a tweaker for breaking in my van the guy isn't even moving his car or leaving at all all insists again that I move the vehicle that is causing no issues to him or anyone else then says as as a matter of fact, I'm not interested at all and then closes the door in my face he booked this service threw a property management company not even my company so make sure your a perfect person in every way or don't come here like I said tweakers everywhere trash on the roads and this guy is an inconsiderate dick head with no morals or respect at all it's a house not a hotel or apartment just a run down little house I personally wouldnt stay here with or without this experience!!!

Yelp
This was one of the most delightful experiences I've ever had in a B&B. The Gaslight Inn is a beautifully restored and maintained 1910 Craftsman home. You can easily imagine what gracious living on Capital Hill would have been like a hundred years ago. Outside of the bathrooms, nearly everything is period fixtures, furniture, and colors. It's visually stunning. The owner is very charming and happy to share his knowledge of the area. We also enjoyed meeting other travelers over breakfast in the dining room. The Inn is in a very walkable part of Capital Hill, with easy access to multiple great local restaurants, bars, and cafes. I hope to stay here again on my next visit to Seattle.

Yelp
I am torn on this review. So I will break it down like this: Positives: 1. So cute - really unique combination of First Nation art and glass blown pieces. Absolutely unique look to the place. 2. Sweet staff 3. Great location 4. Cool, spacious rooms immaculately groomed and designed with a really cool feel 5. Pretty comprehensive continental breakfast (yogurt/ very fresh fruit/ hard, hard boiled eggs/bread basket) 6. Pool (we did not partake) 7. Fireplaces! In some rooms too! 8. Makeup removal towelettes 9. Teal, one owner, is very friendly and nice Drawbacks: Not very female friendly in that: 1. The shower is a torture chamber if you are petite. I expect also if you are a wider shaped person. It is so high there is no way not to soak your hair (shower caps would be great) and it is so tiny that any movement means bruised elbows on the door handle or on/off handle. I truly, with all of me, hated that shower and dreaded having to go in there twice. Oh and only two wash-clothes are provided for a two person room so cleaning yourself in your girl parts means you can not later wash your face. ug. But you need a washcloth because the shower-head is 12 feet high. ug.ug. dilemmas. oh and the washcloth was not replaced. triple ug. 2. no conditioner in rooms, just "conditioning shampoo" (hahahaha --compounding the cruel jokes against long hair) 3. No where to apply makeup. there is no lighting to speak of in the bathroom and no where to sit with a mirror out of the bathroom (also no mirror at a reasonable eye level), to make matters more complex, you can not sit on the bathroom counter as it is a bit makeshift and would be dangerous. So on your knees with a makeup mirror (if you happen to have one) balanced by a window if attempting to apply makeup for a special event. and you'll have to have your partner check you. ouch. 4. bed is a rock So as you can see, I am torn. Totally like the Inn, and great place for a tall male travelers, but some basic creature comforts would be a great addition. lights, wash-clothes, shower cap or conditioner or both, a soft pad on the bed... Oh, also, we stayed on our Anniversary night and the night prior. A nice personal touch would have been a note or something sweet. That is pretty common but was not forthcoming. I am torn. I like it, but...j

Yelp
My wife and I had a lovely stay at the Gaslight Inn. It's a beautiful home. The Innkeeper was incredibly friendly and helpful. And it's located in a nice and convenient area of the city, allowing us to venture out foe most sightseeing on foot easily. Definitely recommended for tourists visiting Seattle.

Yelp
While I am a fan, and loved the location and our room in general, there were too many drawbacks for my wife (and I suppose for most females) that I have to deduct a star. Happy wife, happy life and such, especially since we spent our anniversary night here. Cute location, really like the proprietors, and enjoyed breakfast among the other guests. They have a really nice little pool, which is definitely a bonus, but the bed could have been more comfortable and the shower could have had a little more room.

Yelp
We stayed here for 5 nights in June. Have to give enormous props on the care and maintenance of this beautiful Victorian home to the owners. Every square inch is clean, polished, oiled, painted, and lovingly maintained. It's quite extraordinary! You can tell there is a real attention to detail and pride of ownership that is unparalleled. The garden looks likes a park, and you will see the owners tending to the beautiful backyard daily. Very nice views from our room. Our room had a private bathroom downstairs, which probably isn't the best fit for Mr. B, as he suffers from TB. (Tiny Bladder) This made it difficult at night to go up and down to the bathroom. We had three semi-formal events to attend in Seattle, and it would have been better if we had a bathroom in the room. But, if this isn't a necessity for the reader, than I strongly recommend this B&B and room. Breakfast is continental: hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh baked croissants and breads, cheese, assorted fruits, tea and coffee. Perfect size for someone like me, but Mr B enjoys a bigger hot breakfast. Location can't be beat in the eclectic Capitol Hill area. Close to lots of cool restaurants, bars, stores, etc. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but a parking pass can be obtained. There is a lovely pool in the backyard that we didn't have time to enjoy. It looked so inviting! There is a lot of construction going on around the neighborhood, so there is quite a bit of noise currently. Recommend this B&B!

Yelp
My wife and just spent a week as guests of the Gasslight B&B. Everything was wonderful the view from our room looked our across the city and the bay. There was a nice deck right outside to have coffee etc. Every morning we awoke to the smell of fresh croissants which accompanied a wonderful continental breakfast among new friends. The interior and exterior are beautiful, so comfortable. You are treated as if your the only guest. We will definitely return.

Yelp
I stayed here by myself in August for one night. It was my first time in Seattle and I loved the location. Capitol Hill is a walkable and charming neighborhood. Nightlife is just around the corner. When you get to the house you have to ring the buzzer to be let in. Guests are not allowed to visit to help with other guests privacy. To open the front door you have to turn the key and the handle at the same time which made it tricky with full hands. The inside of the house is eclectic with glass blown sculpture, Native American artifacts, and beautiful rugs. I stayed in a room that had a balcony, overlooked the pool, and had an in room bathroom. It was very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was small with no counter space but it worked great for my needs. There was a little antique desk with a mirror by the french doors to the balcony that I did my makeup at. I was suggested some amazing activities by one of the staff there including the nearby Cal Anderson Park and the weekend drag brunch at La Faux. I also parked my car down by the Olympia Sculpture park, rented a Jump bike, and rode all along the coast. I would highly recommend. I also visited the Henry Art Museum and the Seattle Art Museum, both definitely worth the visit.

Yelp
This is a fine choice when visiting Seattle. Great neighborhood (Capitol Hill) cordial and helpful host/owner, convivial continental breakfast where you'll chat with a friendly mix of gay and (mostly) straight visitors. Gracious garden. The furniture and the glass collection were fantastic. So much to do in Seattle that we didn't have time to enjoy the pool.

Yelp
My partner Doug and I spent 3 wonderful nights at the Gaslight Inn. When we arrived at 9pm May 7th we first walked around the first floor sitting rooms. We were in awe at all the beautiful natural wood of the old well maintained house. The natural real wood antique furniture had a mission style look which both of us appreciate. "Our" room, on the second floor, was equally well decorated and had beautiful original leaded glass stained windows. Antique furniture with a tall carved headboard. Comfortable bed with crisp white linen. Breakfast was plentiful with croissants, cinnamon coffee cake, variety of fruits, hard boiled eggs, cheese, juice, yogurts and plenty of excellent coffee. Bennett, the owner, was very pleasant, sociable and loved to sit chat to find out about his guest. We will definitely return when we are in Seattle for another fantastic visit. Tom Krygowski

Yelp
Gaslight came highly recommended by fellow travelers with excellent taste and did not disappoint. This place is class all the way. Anyone would love it here. We loved our upstairs room with a private deck. It was spacious and spotless. This is a beautiful Craftsman home. The common areas are filled with artwork and fun things to look at. It really felt comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and outside area and appreciated that it is adults only, they really have to be with all of the nice things. The breakfast was beautifully presented with fresh fruit and fresh baked goods, good greek yogurt and hard boiled eggs. I received an e-mail with clear directions and we Ubered there from the light rail. The price is quite fair compared to hotels in the area. We walked to dinner and cocktails both evenings. Mary was generous with suggestions for our stay in Seattle. I will recommend this to friends and will stay here again. Stayed September 2015, traveled as a couple

Yelp
The Gaslight was terrific. We were in Seattle for two nights and stayed in room 105. Their website gives detailed descriptions of each room giving you the ability to choose exactly what you want. I was a little afraid of the only other Yelp review for this Inn but I decided to go for it anyway. Although combining the review from below with what seem to be some finger wagging instructions on their website, I was still a bit cautious. Our room was large and well appointed. We had a small patio that looked back at downtown and we could see the top of the Space Needle. It was cold outside but the room was kept warm by a radiator. The bathroom was a little on the small side, especially the shower and I was thankful to have lost weight in the last year. The home is very nice and they have a good collection of arts and crafts furniture. They had some good guide books and reading materials. We didn't spend much time in the public areas but it's always welcoming to come back to beautiful surroundings. We were met by one of the owners who gave us a hearty welcome and got out a map and showed us just enough places and gave just enough of an orientation to get us started. They offer a tasty continental breakfast (hooray for the little scones) and though not available in December what looked to be a lovely pool. The Gaslight is convenient to many Capitol Hill restaurants and shops on 15th, Broadway, Pine and Pike (walking distance) as well as a short hike to downtown shopping, the Pike Place Market etc. Would stay again - recommended.

Yelp
I booked the Gaslight Inn last minute and then only for one night. I added a second night immediately after arriving. The host was gracious and inviting and the perfect level of helpful - happy to answer any questions, but completely respectful of my wishes. The Inn is gorgeous and well appointed. It's also the perfect location - just a short walk to all kinds of food or entertainment. The bus line is also handy. The Gaslight Inn will be my first choice for any future visits to Seattle.

Yelp
Beautifully and tastefully decorated (Chiluly glass decor everywhere!), quiet, located in a great neighborhood that's easy to get from downtown and back via bus, clean facilities... and, if you're lucky enough to book the room that my boyfriend arranged for us, a panoramic view of the downtown Seattle skyline! One thing I very much recommend is that, if you do stay here, walk around Capitol Hill first for dining and drinks before you start heading downtown - I wish we had thought of doing that. Tavern Law is just a 10 minute walk away and a great place for drinks, then feel free to mosey on over to Barrio or some of the other neat places we passed along the way. And, if you're lucky, you get to meet the innkeeper's sweet little orange tabby cat =^.^=

Yelp
Stayed again this year on a visit back to Seattle. The place was just as charming as ever, the host just as quirky and sweet as ever. They were doing a 20 percent discount and we got the best room in the place for only 120 a night. It was a suite with a living area with fireplace and a bedroom as well as attached bath. One thing I had forgotten about this place is there are no tubs at all which would have been lovely the cold seattle rain. The continential breakfast was great as usual and I loved coming back to the warm Inn with the fireplaces and all the great art downstairs in the two drawing rooms. One thing that hasn't change and has even gotten worse is the internet service. If you must have internet service either set your cell phone up as a server or go to the near by coffee shop because you will not be able to access theirs. this is still my go to place in Seattle especially when my spouse's company is paying the tab.

Yelp
My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Gaslight Inn. The house is so unique and rustic, and the interior decoration is cozy and cabin-like. The neighborhood is in a great/hip area with lots of nice restaurants around, and just a 5-10 minute bus ride from downtown. Bennett, the owner, is so funny, nice and helpful. One hot day, he kept the pool open late so we could take a nice evening dip. We stayed in room 106 which is the room with the best view - overlooking the Seattle skyline, Needle and Olympic mountains; and the bed was comfortable (pillows a little hard). The down side was our bathroom being one floor below, but fine for the price. I loved how there are so many sittings areas in the B&B to relax with a book/coffee/glass of wine. One morning we took our breakfast up to the deck and it was so nice. Their croissants are amazing (whether they bake them or not), and scones with jam are yummy. The reason I'm leaving off 1 star is because it would have been a little nice to have someone be easily accessible to ask questions. When I would look for a B&B staffer, I didn't know where exactly they'd be and would have to knock on the office (I don't think the doorbell on it worked) door or kitchen door. Luckily I'm a pretty persistent person and not afraid of bothering people. In this case, Gaslight is more suitable for the independent traveler. Those types, as myself, can figure it out no matter what, and plan ahead. I highly recommend Gaslight for those who are looking for a comfortable yet unique place to rest their head.

Yelp
This is a great, cozy place right on Capitol Hill. The interior is great and the owners are very helpful, welcoming and easygoing. We stayed in room 102 for the first night and switched to 105 for the second and the third night. I'm still giving 5 stars, because 102 is just beautiful, but 102 had an incredibly creaky bed and looked a little less cozy than 102. 105 looks better on the website, but my advice is to go for 102. The breakfast is small but yummy and makes for a nice start of the day. Coffee is good, too. Plus, it's about a 10 minute walk to Broadway, which is not such a bad thing, either.

Yelp
I stayed here for three nights recently while I was in Seattle for a conference. It was everything I could have hoped for -- elegant, cosy, and unique, less expensive than the dismal "conference hotel" that everyone else stayed in, friendly, and simply GORGEOUS interior decoration. Location was very convenient, continental breakfast was simple but fresh and tasty, and the whole atmosphere was lovely. The only bummer is the "no kids" rule, which I understand, but since I'm five months pregnant I doubt I'll be able to come back anytime soon. :( Still, I would recommend it to anyone who needs to stay in downtown Seattle -- and maybe my husband and I will be able to take a quick getaway on our own and stay there sometime! We can always leave the little one with grandma for a few days, right?

Yelp
I was traveling to Seattle for work + fun, and wanted to venture outside of the typical downtown tourist scene. I researched many neighborhoods, and found that Capitol Hill was a trendy, fun area for young people. Only problem is, the neighborhood doesn't allow hotels! This is initially why I wanted to stay at the Gaslight Inn.. just for a place to sleep in a hip neighborhood. HOWEVER! The Gaslight Inn is so much more than a typical B&B. Immediately when you walk in, you feel at home. The craftsman-like decor, beautiful accents, and cozy fire are so lovely. Additionally, Bennett, the owner, was an absolute delight. He's very gracious and accommodating. I highly recommend staying at the Gaslight Inn for both location and the lovely atmosphere. It's a place to stay when you want to feel at home away from home!

Had a great stay at Gaslight Inn. Great pool, great neighborhood, very comfortable. Steve Bennett, the innkeeper, was helpful with restaurants. Everything very accessible. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Very charming and well-maintained place but lacked the special TLC I've received from other places. i know it's a bit unfair to compare but small details were overlooked - such as no touchback after check-in to be sure everything was okay, no personalization (like didn't notice I didn't partake in breakfast because I had to be at work by 8), no opportunity to socialize (pro/con). Overall, it was a great stay and I appreciated the privacy but I felt like the magic was missing to make my stat special. I can get a pretty room anywhere but choose local places for the atmosphere and to maybe have the chance to be exposed to new things. breakfast was continental - tea, coffee, oj, fruit, yogurt, croissant, and sweet bread. id recommend this as an option to friends as the location was perfect and very quiet, the accommodations were very new england meets PNW, and the owners were very friendly and unobtrusive.

Yelp
This was a very nice inn. The price was right, 10/15 min. walking distance to the lively and hip Capital Hill district, the employees were extremely friendly (Bennett, etc.), the place was as clean and eclectic. The only downside was the very limited parking (we had to park several blocks away after unloading), and the included breakfast was just ok. However, I definitely will be back and I do recommend this inn!

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! If you find yourself going to Seattle, STAY HERE! Bennett, the innkeeper, is just as awesome as the other reviews say. He remembers everyone's name, gives great suggestions on what to do, likes to hear your stories and best of all - if he's still there and awake when you come back for the evening he says "Welcome home". Love. We had the best room in the house. 106. It's a steal. $138/night gets you a fabulous...FAB-U-LOUS...view of all of downtown and when you sit on the bed the Space Needle is in the center of the window. The only draw back is since it's on the top floor, the bathroom in on the next level down. It is completely reserved for room 106...but a very small inconvenience for the view and great room (there is a sink in the room, which is nice). He makes the pastries in the morning...a very simple breakfast but so delicious. The walk into downtown is an easy one. The inn is just up the hill, east of downtown. There's also a bus line that goes right in front of the house if you'd rather ride down or back up. Lots of great little cafe's and coffee shops in the neighborhood to check out. I will stay here any time I'm in Seattle, hands down.

Yelp
We've been staying at the Gaslight Inn for many years. (Sounds like we never leave.) We attend Seattle Opera and so we visit 5 times a year . Recently we spent 9 nights for the Seattle Ring. Trevor and Bennett, the owners and inn keepers, are always great hosts and make sure all the guests are welcomed and accommodated. The house is very well maintained. The glass-art collection is superb. Capitol hill shops and restaurants are just down the street. It's a treat to stay there. I'm not much of a reviewer, so suffice to say that if you are looking for a bed and breakfast in a great neighborhood of Seattle you will absolutely be delighted with the Gaslight.

Yelp
What a fantastic place this is! My wife and I recently spent four nights at the Gaslight Inn and we already can't wait to return. The Gaslight Inn is absolutely exquisite in every detail and the owner Bennett is incredibly nice and very accommodating. The morning breakfast is also great. And the location in the heart of Capitol Hill is without a doubt the best location in Seattle. We have been traveling to Seattle for five years and have stayed in many places, but this is the place to which we will always return.

Yelp
Our stay at the Gaslight Inn was so memorable! We had a great time, and the rooms were so unique. It's situated on Capitol Hill next to some yummy restaurants and we were able to comfortably walk down to Pike St. and enjoy the downtown scene at night. The innkeepers are very knowledgeable about the bus system in case you would prefer to catch a quick bus ride downtown. I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Just returned from a 3-night stay@ Gaslight Inn and would definitely stay there again. Great views from the patio, beautiful & relaxing garden. Located in a great area with easy access to public transportation, and within walking distance of plenty of things to do. Staff was friendly & facilities were clean, the room was charming & as described. We arrived hours before check-in and they allowed us to stow our luggage & go out to explore the city until our rooms were ready. Overall a great stay.

Yelp
Where else can you stay at a fabulous vintage Bed & Breakfast with a SWIMMING POOL on Capitol Hill? Clean, beautifully decorated and the most gallant hosts you will ever meet. I recommend the Gaslight Inn for fun and fabulous visits to Seattle.

Yelp
If the location doesn't win you over, then the owners Tevor & Bennett will. It is a truly amazing place, beautifully appointed. The breakfast is a nice way to get your day started (with great coffee - no need to run out for the first cup of the day). Guests were from Boston and Brazil, among other places, while I visited. Wi-fi worked well. Most important, if you're looking for a place to feel at home while exploring Seattle, put this at the top of your list. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
I stayed here for 2 nights with my girlfriend over this past weekend and cannot praise this place enough. Aside from being beautifully and tastefully decorated and prime Capitol Hill location, the customer service here is beyond anything i would have anticipated. Bennett is a true gentleman with genuine concern for the well being and contentment of his guests. A light and delicious complimentary breakfast is served daily and for those unfamiliar with the area, he will be more than happy to sit with you and explain the prime spots for food, shopping, drinking, dancing etc. Still, what really blew me away and what will keep me coming back here whenever i am in Seattle is how comfortable you are made to feel staying there. After checking out at 10:30 on the day of our trip back home, we learned that our flight would be delayed by 5 hours. When Bennett discovered this he insisted that we spend the next 5 hours there in our room. Our room that we had already checked out of. Stay here if you appreciate beautiful decor, prime location and unprecedented customer service. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Yelp
My friend and I stayed at the Gaslight Inn for 3 nights on our first trip to Seattle, and we absolutely LOVED it! Neither of us had stayed at a bed and breakfast before, but this was conveniently located around the corner from our friend's apartment. All the employees at the inn (and the guests too, for that matter) were extremely friendly and pleasant. Our room was on the third floor and our private bathroom was on the second floor, but that didn't bother us at all. Both were clean and comfortable, and we slept soundly since it's a quiet place at night. For breakfast each morning we had fresh coffee and orange juice, yogurt, fruit, coffee cake, freshly baked croissants and an assortment of cheeses. The strawberry preserves they put out reminded me very much of my late great grandmother's homemade preserves, so that was actually my favorite part! We had a great start to every day thanks to these meals. Finally, their location in Capitol Hill is walkable to many highly rated bars and restaurants, so it's extremely convenient. The check-in and check-out process took all of 5 minutes and everyone is very helpful, so I highly recommend Gaslight Inn! Thanks so much for a great stay!

Yelp
I stayed at the Gaslight over the weekend of Aug.27-30 and I was very pleased. It is a beautiful well kept house in a safe and charming neighborhood, very close to lots of great restaurants. You can't find a better price on such a nice room that is only a 15 minute walk down the hill to Pike's Place! The inn keeper was super nice and took the time to look over a map with me and mark where all the good restaurants and bars were. He was always available to offer directions or help with any questions. The rooms were very clean and some have incredible views of the Space Needle and Mount Rainer. I stayed in a room with a separate bathroom down the hall but it was really no problem, it was private clean and just around the corner. I had no problems with the internet service, I used it every day and it seemed to work fine. The two best things about this place are the beautiful backyard with private pool and the breakfast. The breakfast was amazing! There were homemade hot out of the oven croissants with homemade jam and great coffee every morning. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks for making my first trip to Seattle an amazing experience!

Yelp
Decent stay overall. We arrived late and left early so what needed to be there was there and the owner was kind to change our reservation after our travel plans changed.

Yelp
If you're looking for a great B&B while you're in Seattle, this is the place! The house is beautiful, well decorated, and very clean. We had a room on the 3rd floor with the best view of downtown Seattle anyone could ever ask for! The homemade croissants were absolutely delicious, too. We will stay again, hopefully soon!

Yelp
The Gaslight is quickly becoming my home away from home. Bennett and Stephen are amazing folks. The Inn is comfy and every detail is impeccable. I enjoy staying here when I am in Seattle and feel like family in this comfortable and wonderful place. Thanks!

Yelp
What a charming place. I stayed here for my birthday last summer (2012) and am so glad I did. While I live in Seattle, I wanted to "get away" for a night without having to actually travel. Staying at the Gaslight Inn was the perfect choice. Instantly felt welcomed, loved the decor, and adored our bedroom. The owner is a great guy, fun to talk to, and has a pretty cute cat! I do hope to return some day, it's a fun place to stay, inexpensive for the extra comforts, and right in central capitol hill. Great place!

Yelp
This has got to be one of the nicest guest houses I have ever stated in. Location was very good. Breakfast was very good. Other guest were exceptional. Host was so gracious. Parking can be a challenge but they work it out. Seattle neighborhoods are all tight. Only complaint was the TV. But I was not there to watch TV. Excellent place to stay. I would recommend this place for anyone.

Yelp
This was a horrible place and parking was impossible. The drain was completely clogged and i had to do my own plumbing just to use the sink. That was the least of our worries though. I left early in the morning to go to a conference and a couple hours after I leave a strange man kept insisting that he needs to get into our room and clean. My wife was alone and resting. She told the man Im sleeping and i do not want to be disturbed. The man came back later and asked again if he could come in. MY wife again stated that she was tired and wanted to be alone. Then the guy starts banging on the door so loud and violently, that the entire door frame shook. "let me in right now im the owner and i need to clean" MY wife says that he kept saying that he wanted to take the blinds down to clean them. She said no thank you because without the blinds the light would come in. And she would have nothing covering the windows. No privacy at all. She said "leave me alone please!" but he just would not quit. He came back later and said to my wife through the door "theres more than one way to get into this room" She was absolutely petrified. She was extremely worried because she noticed earlier when she looked out the peep hole at him. That the other 2 guests were already checked out. Their room doors were completely wide open. She was alone in this huge house with this very aggressive man demanding to get into our room alone with her. I got there and got her out as soon as i could. After i calmed her down. I went back inside the B&B to confront the owner. He scoffed at me and rudely stated "this is my house i can go wherever I want to go." My jaw dropped. I just still cant believe that all of this happened and that he felt that it was ok and normal to harass my wife while i was out working. Just completely entitled and inappropriate to say the very least. I suggest no one stays here. Especially if you are traveling with your wife and or daughter. Beware

Yelp
Beautiful, unique, clean, accommodating, and full of warmth and charm. I can't say enough good things about the Gaslight Inn and Bennett. Thank you for a most memorable stay. Stay here!
