Undecided on where to go for a late lunch, we stopped at the Four Seasons and were led out to the back pool. The setting is perfect. And, our server (Rodolfo?) was excellent.
The menu is difficult to navigate unless you already know what you want. My companion settled on the grilled mahi sandwich, I opted for the crispy chicken sandwich. Each came with choice of salad, fries, or sweet potato fries.
The plates arrived with no noticeable delay. Stacked high, both looked delicious. Both types of fries were fabulous, with a light dusting of salt. The proteins were cooked and seasoned nicely. Unfortunately, bigger is not always better. The vertical height of the sandwiches is not easily manageable, leaving two options:
(1) off the bun with a knife and fork, like my companion, who otherwise enjoyed her grilled mahi; or
(2) sloppily attempt to maintain sandwich composition. My mistake which I abandoned for option 1 half way through.
Notably, the concept and appearance of the crispy chicken is brilliant. Execution was less than exceptional. The thick crust is beyond crispy and tasty, but it's just too much of a good thing. The chicken is tender but overbreaded or dipped. The crusting as deep as an inch at the outer edges.
I ordered wrong. Next time I'll try a burger, salad, or steak frites. But, I would definitely give the restaurant an opportunity for redemption.
