This park is AMAZING! It has several areas to play and is designed to be all-inclusive. It has wheelchair ramps, wheelchair spots on several different play equipment, and swings and zip lines that have large seats. There's a music section where you can play drums and wind chimes. Picnic tables, benches, and bathrooms all on site too. Honestly a little of everything.

I go to the Mission Bay every week. There is so much to do there! Swimming, water sports activities, rent of bikes or boats, vegan coffee cafe with amazing view, full bar at that cafe too, ice cream, pastries! Bbq areas, kids play ground, fitness in open air, life guards on duty, lots of trees, a trail for biking, running, rollerblading etc, bonfires areas, parking. In the weekend’s evenings you can enjoy the firework from Sea World!

Great park for the kiddos with a view of the bay. Slides, swings, and structures to climb. They even had a fitness area for the parents. Highly recommended!

Beautiful place on the bay to hang out. The bathrooms were kinda iffy but other than that I loved it. Renewed my vows there.☺️

Serene Nice place to take a chill pill Plenty of space. Restrooms are decent. Dog loves it. Lots of those ground squirrels to chase but never catch 😂

You'll find lots of room for vehicle parking and a boat launch for different types of water sports.

Went to see the boat races and wow it was amazing!! Of course the event was incredible but the park and bay looked clean, well kept and maintained unlike many places in San Diego these days.

Yelp
Mission Bay holds a lot of nostalgia for my husband and I. When in our dating phase, our first weekend getaway together was here and we had great conversations about our future walking along the paths. We were in town from LA for the weekend, had just had a big brunch nearby, and found our way to the Bay Park. We had only intended on walking a mile or two but we got to reminiscing and talking, just as we did almost 8 years ago. Our brunch walk, turned into a 6 mile walk with a sunset ending. I'm not mad about it at all. Beautiful park and bay with several activities taking place. I had no idea there was a winery/restaurant. We will be back to hang out there next time.

Yelp
The "Bay Side" is so relaxing. With playgrounds, sidewalks for biking, and calmer waters; it's much more enjoyable. My kids still love the play grounds here and they're getting to that age where it's not going to be fun to them. The covered pavilions offer a much needed break from the sun as you eat... This is an excellent place to spend time as a family.

Yelp
It's a great place to walk around and getting refreshed!! It's just a beautiful place and you'll definitely enjoy this area! I was here for the sake of SeaWorld and had a great time there! Be there earlier to enjoy to the max! Bring your friends and family and have a great time there! Cheers

Yelp
Love this place. Can get crowded but that's not surprising. The view is beautiful and tranquil. A great place to have a BBQ and hang out with friends. I like this place to take nice long walks and soak up the sun and the views of the water. It's a pet friendly place too.

Yelp
Worth the price of admission! Free99... With tons of parking and clean restrooms, it's an ideal spot to have a relaxing bbq. You can easily see baby showers, birthday parties and even small weddings here on any given day. With the water as a beautiful backdrop, it's easy to see why it is such a popular spot for locals to tourists to visit. I used to frequent this place often as a child when my uncle had his boat. It's nice to see people enjoying their water sports including kayaks and paddle boards. If the water isn't for you but you still want to put in a workout, you can easily walk jog or even rode a bike here on their paved walkways. I plan to visit more often now that I have my own children. Maybe I'll see you there!?

Yelp
What a beautiful park. In SD for a short vacation and enjoying all the lovely places we are experiencing. This park is simply gorgeous. Beautiful landscape and so well designed for the little ones. Ample slides, swings, climbing opportunities, pretend play, green grass areas and of course the beach. Spoiled for choice. Bathrooms quite clean and there is an area with sinks to wash the Lil ones afterwards and change them. Had a great time. Our children had an amazing time playing non stop. Beautiful. Recommend for all kids to visit :)

Yelp
Amazing peaceful serene views? Then you have come to the right place! This was my go-to when I first moved to San Diego back in 2007, I would come here as my stress-reliever. You will see people running, biking, roller blading, walking and playing in the sand to flying kites. You can also release your boat at the dock. Parking can be somewhat tricky during the summer months but today was a perfect 80 degrees for February and while somewhat busy - it is not half as busy as it would be on a Saturday in June. The great thing is you can come here anytime of year and it is beautiful with hotels nearby, PB nearby and best of all - this is free - so bring your friends for a BBQ, bring your family for some fun or come here by yourself to get away from it all! You can also get a permit for larger events and groups to reserve the area around Mission Bay Park. If you haven't been here and you've visited or lived in San Diego, you are missing out!

Yelp
Lunchtime and much needed nature immersion! Today took me too this park right off the 805 Freeway. I just needed some sunshine and really wanted a moment to recharge with my Vons Onion Hoagie, homemade vegan Tomato soup, and crunchy baby carrots! Best unpaid 30 minutes, I've had in a while! Anyway, when the sun is out and there is a cool breeze, this place shimmers, with a quaint presentation of the rippling and calming Bay. If you want to experience another area most do not know. This is definitely a lucky break, but I say most may not know, because the parking area was empty midday. (Possibly the fact I went during a weekday) Unfortunately my smile went away when I was forced to catch a whiff mid-bite of smoke. Ehh.. it happens, so, not a mood-ruined moment. I was a little on the weary side, only because I was over dressed due to being in at work. So, I spent the better part of my meal and soaking of sun calming my nerves and occasionally checking my car. It doesn't hurt to be cautious. There plenty of space to run, walk, fly a kite, throw a frisbee, picnic, ramp for your water vessels, and bathrooms that are attended by the city park attendants. Places like these are great, but a caution to the tell, they are widely used, but if you're there for a positive experience, you're able to make one. Be weary the roads and parking lot, they appear to be in disrepair, a little old and worn with softball deep size pot holes. But if you are smart and lucky, you're able to traverse without too much trouble and the sunshine and green grass will erase any irritation or discomfort. Oh just remember the pot holes are still there when you're leaving too.

Yelp
Peaceful fun park to go to. We got a coffee, but it was not good. Don't recommend. We walked along the boardwalk for miles. Enjoyed the breeze and ocean view

Yelp
Hands down one of my favorites parks in San Diego. I've been here numerous times throughout the years. I like to go here with people visiting San Diego. It's that park you take people to. So yes I recommend. PS. Parking isn't bad either.

Yelp
My favorite place to get some cardio done and get some nature exposure at the same time. Great place to take the family and kids for some outdoor walks and family time. I enjoy my alone time walking around and contemplating. Good place to runaway from the busy city life. I enjoy watching the sunset after a good run.

Yelp
I usually only find myself at this park during a half marathon or a marathon. They have ample parking with street parking as well as parking lots all throughout the park. There are also restrooms all throughout the park as well. They do a great job keeping this park clean. The concrete running path throughout the park has been well maintained and will allow anyone to cover as much mileage as they need with a view of Mission Bay for the duration of the run.

Yelp
Such a low key, relaxing spot to check out and spend the afternoon. We stopped by around noon on Sunday and were pleasantly surprised! Plenty of parking and a very busy park. There are public showers available. This park is a perfect balance of land and sea, there's people paddle boarding and kayaking in the water and others having picnics and BBQs on the grass. There's a nice paved sidewalk that goes around the park as a walking trail. The amenities are well taken care of and maintained. It felt like a very safe park on our visit and I would recommend it as a family friendly spot!

Yelp
San Diego is most definitely "America's Finest City." With absolute perfect weather year-round, it's no wonder people from all over want to come here! Mission Bay is a wonderful part of this beautiful city. It's got something for everyone: beaches, bike trails, jogging paths, amazing hotels/resorts and of course, tons of places to EAT!! I came out to bless my new S.U.P. on a Friday, and loved every minute! The beaches weren't crowded at all (probably because people were out shopping on Black Friday, ha!) and parking was a breeze. Normally parking is crazy on weekends, but I guess I picked a good time to go because even the roads were empty! You'll see a lot of people out in the bay, on boats, paddle boards, kayaks, etc. I like that the water out here is calm for the most part. You can hit a few waves when the big boats pass you by, so if you're paddle boarding, I hope you can balance well or you'll fall into the water! As you cruise around the bay, you'll be able to soak in all the views. It's pretty epic to paddle under the bridges and see them from a different angle vs. what you would see from standing on land. I passed the Paradise Point Resort on my way back to the Bahia. Best part is knowing you're getting a full body workout and it doesn't even feel like it! I'll have to come back to bless my kayak. Weather is getting cold so that might not happen until spring, but I'll be looking forward to that! Mission Bay is glorious! Nice place to spend time with family, friends, or even solo for some good soul reflecting. It won't disappoint and I highly recommend it, especially if you're an outdoorsy type. Let loose, get some vitamin D, and have fun!!

Yelp
Sweet spot to take a stroll or jog on the paved path. We had a picnic at the NW lot and a bonfire in one of the pits. The bay feels more like a lake as you can't quite look out into open waters. However, the water adds an air of tranquility against the sky. It's nice to see people using the space in different ways to enjoy the outdoors. Large parking lot close to the highway.
google avatar

Yelp
Every time I drive by I want to stop and enjoy the park. You notice the by and all the people enjoying it it as you are driving by on the 5 freeway. You see people jogging, walking, relaxing, barbecuing, eating, jet skiing and a myriad of other activities that are available to do there. There are paved sidewalks to ride bikes on or walk around. There are rental places where you can rent bikes, boats, and other items. There are pagodas for gatherings and plenty of trees you can sit unde and relax, enjoy the sights, and the breeze. There is plenty of parking but it can get crowded and parking harder to obtain. At night you can see the Sea World fireworks if they are doing their fireworks show.

Yelp
At over 4,235 acres, it's the largest aquatic park of its kind in the U.S., with 27 miles of shoreline and eight official swimming areas. There are also lifeguards at these swimming areas. So it's huge, and it's a good place for walking, running, bicycling. I also saw a lot of jet skiers (Wave Runners) in the western area of the park -- a good place to go if you don't feel confident in the open ocean. There's also a ton of parking and bathrooms (did not use the bathrooms) and if you're feeling peckish, you can grab food at the Mission Bay Beach Club, which is centrally located in the park. But ... how can I say this ... there's definitely a sketchy element there. There are a lot of people living out of their cars and vans in Mission Bay Park. Some of the vehicles have graffiti on them. When I was walking, I had to skirt by a couple of small encampments in the parking lots. Is it safe there? Yes, plenty safe in the day. But would I go for a run by myself after dark in the park? No.

Yelp
San Diego is all about perfect weather, gorgeous beaches, amazing hiking trails and beautiful parks. Mission Bay Park is the largest aquatic park that offers boat docks, sailboat and motor rentals, bike and walk paths, basketball courts and spacious playgrounds for children with ample parking for everyone. It is truly one of San Diego's most fun-filled spots to visit.

Yelp
What a beautiful place. The marina itself was amazing. You can purchase your fishing license right here. And if you're hungry, have them make you a nice hot sandwich to start your day.

Yelp
I mean, what else can I say? Any time of the year, this place is just beautiful. It's not crowded and many families and singles go here to walk and exercise. The place is kept pretty clean, good job, SD people! The people are just so nice and the views are perfect.
google avatar

Yelp
This is such a cute park. We were going to go to Lake Murray but ended up going here. This is just a nice spot to chill and enjoy the view. The signs say no dogs before a certain time but so many people had their dogs there so it's definitely dog friendly
google avatar

Yelp
I volunteer quite a bit in this area. It's beautiful and I love it at Mission Bay Park. I always feel safe, there are always a lot of fun activities to engage in. Most of all I love the volunteer work I do with the wildlife there.

Yelp
I think Mission Bay Park is one of the finest municipal parks in the country. It offers numerous spaces for outdoor activities including picnics, swimming, boating, lounging, and just relaxing. There's even a channel with access to the Pacific Ocean. A number of resorts and restaurants are within the park boundaries. There's easy access from I-5, I-8, and local streets. Very good signage ... and parking.
google avatar

Laila P.

Yelp
Beautiful open park area. The parking is free! They have a basketball court, small playground area, and a walking path. Nothing too Extravagant! This place also has lovely scenery!

Yelp
Love coming to Mission Bay Park for my morning runs. Although it's kind of far for me, it's worth it when I'm looking to do my long runs of 8+ miles. I start from the parking lot right off the freeway, and make my round around fiesta island loop then back around. GoIng around 7 oR 8 in the morning, there's slot of ppl but not enough to get in the way. The park and water is makes a beautiful view. It's a veery peaceful place to be. There are many huge parking lots, so parking is never an issue!

Yelp
When I was in college... At USC... I ditched class quite a bit, I'm headed down to San Diego to see friends. I know - - but I wasn't always a principal. During my southern jaunts, hanging out at some part of the greater Mission Bay complex was usually part of the plan. One of my best buddies lived in Clairemont, and doing keg stands on his balcony watching the fireworks at Seaworld? ... well friends, those are the precious moments... They don't come back again. It also became something of a stupid tradition for me to do a loop around Fiesta Island every time I went down there. But aside from the stupidity, we often enjoyed the beauty that is free parking, lots and lots of open grassy spaces, and the miles of shoreline. On my most recent trip, Mrs. and I took the kayaks, and had a leisurely paddle around the bay. We put in very near Clairemont Blvd. and I have no problem finding a parking spot, even though it was noon on a Saturday. We had our choice of going south or north of Fiesta island, which sort of splits the bay in half. The water had to be 85°, and there were many folks out in paddle craft and small sailing vessels enjoying the no wake zone south of Fiesta. I chose the southern route, completely forgetting about the virtually impossible gauntlet of jet skiers in the southwest corner of the bay. Still, we enjoyed getting out on the water, doing a little people watching as we cruised along the shore, and checked out the small "sensitive habitat" island where lots of wading birds and other assorted critters were hanging out. I also took my fishing rod, and made a few casts at one of my old spots, where there is a sunken reef. I had a tough time accessing it, however, as there was a big houseboat with 20 sorority girls on board, anchored practically on top of it. Mrs. Picante encourage me to fish someplace else. I tried to explain to her that this was really the most likely place I was going to catch a fish in the whole bay. After about ten minutes of trying, I realized that they were probably scaring all the fish away every time they went down the water slide. Despite my efforts, I didn't catch anything... But strangely, I didn't seem to mind. Just another nice day on the water. Next time, I think we'll go north of the island, head up to the bridge, and maybe go see the parts of the bay closer to the ocean. Love me some San Diego...

Yelp
I don't come to this park often but I feel like I should! It has a nice long concrete path for a good run. There is a lot of space to host parties and bbq. I didn't feel like it was over crowded even with all the tents up. There is a work out station and playground for the kids. The water in the bay looks a little questionable.. I wouldn't swim in it. But I wouldn't mind laying. I saw a lot of people with jet skis going into the water. There is loading dock area to get your water toys in the bay. And further down there is a dock for boat pick ups and drop offs. Parking was pretty open when we came. There are separate parking lots along the bay. There is also public restrooms as well. Overall is a nice place to run or have a party. It's not the ocean so it may be better for the little ones.

Yelp
Just an updated review for the off leash dog park at Fiesta. We stopped going because 3 bite incidents luckily not bad. Just be very aware lot of irresponsible owners. Lot of them even have the nerve to ask if my dogs was good when their dog was the aggressive biter. One guy was jogging and his little dogs was snarling at our American bulldog and bit him above the eye. Guy ignored us and kept jogging. He's a short Asian male that jogs with 1 or 2 small dogs. Last incident a guy with a pack of boxers off leash one of his dogs came charging trying to bite our dogs neck but he's thought he was playing luckily only got scratched by the time the owner came.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to do some short runs in San Diego ! The pavement is well kept and there is ample parking during the weekdays. There are a few areas in the park that are perfect for hanging a hammock as well. Definitely recommend going here to catch a sunset !

Yelp
If you need a great park with great views and a little water to go along with that outing well, Mission Bay Park has it all. I'm a Native San Diegan and I have been here many times over the years for varies reasons and I have never had a bad experience here. I usually come here to get a good walk or to fly a kite, not to mention take an occasional nap here and there. You can bring your dogs, some areas they need to be on a leash, some places dogs are not allowed, and others such as the Fiesta Island, they do not need to be on a leash. There are restrooms through out the park, some areas are designated for camping, and I am pretty sure you can fish from pretty much most shores and on the bay. Fishing here is something I have never done, but I see many fishers early in the mornings so it must be a good thing. The park is pretty well kept and the grassy areas are always nice and green, but I do wish visitors would remember to pick up after themselves.

Yelp
Decided to take a walk at Mission Bay Park because I had an hour to kill before my next meeting. Was the greatest idea ever because I get to park for free, take a stroll around the bay, breath in some fresh air and relax for a bit. The park was not crowded was I was visiting on a Saturday afternoon in October, there were a few runners and bikers, but there wasn't a mob. Note that they have pet restrictions at this park. I guess dogs are not allowed during certain hours of the day.

Yelp
For My 200th Review, I'd like to recommend Mission Bay Park for anyone looking for great sights. Seriously, this park is amazing. Tlme views of the bay are intensely beautiful. There are fire pits for cookouts, playgrounds for the kids, basketball courts, areas to throw frisbees, people in the water Stand Up Paddleboarding, etc. I use the park to go jogging. There is an 8 mile loop that goes around the bay and for me it starts and ends by the basketball courts. What I love about this park, is that there are a good amount of people walking their dog, pushing their baby stroller, or jogging themselves. So, there's lots of good company! In addition to that, you just keep looking to your right and the view of the sun on the water can't be described. To make things even better, the wind is with you off the water, so you never have that feeling of the sweat overcoming you because the wind keeps you from sweating too much. My personal goal is to do the 8-mile loop in 1 hour or less. The last time I ran it in 1hour and 2 minutes, so I'm almost there. But man was I gassed when I was finished. The only weird part is that when I'm coming close De Anza Cove on the end, you have to run by this sketchy looking trailer park. I've never had a bad encounter there, or any encounter for that matter, but it's definitely not what I want to see when I'm running. Fortunately, it's a very small part of the journey and then when I clear that the view of the sunset on the water looks more amazing than when I started it. There's plenty of parking too! Just take the 5 and get off at the Clairmont exit and head west. YOu'll see plenty of lots along the water. Message me if you did the 8 mile loop! I want to hear how you liked it!!! Happy running!

Yelp
Year round no matter the season. It's always a good time to visit. Alone or with friends. You can get some exercise in, picnic or do water sports. Just double check the grass area for any foreign objects like glass, needles, blades before sitting down or walking barefoot. It's inviting but still stay vigilant. Family friendly park area. July 4th fireworks this place can get packed. Mel M Yelp 17:43

Yelp
Whenever I stay in the Mission Bay/Pacific beach area, I try to always come to this park and go for a run. It's huge, clean, and pretty! There is a nice path that goes along the water where you will pass people fishing, mom and baby stroller exercise programs, people doing yoga, basketball games and every type of fun fit activity that you can imagine! It loops around a few water inlets/lagoons and is home to tons of different birds. If I am not mistaken, you can bbq and possibly even camp here!

Yelp
BBQ AND FIREPITS SEASON! Alot to do at Mission Bay Park.. - swim (i would never but people do) - kiteboard - paddleboard - jetskii - kayak - bbq - firepit - watch the sunset - DO NOT FORGET THE BUG SPRAY Lastnight was my first time attending an evening BBQ followed by a Firepit session several friends. I am such a newbie, living in San Diego and summer is approaching - these simple activities puts a smile on my face. The parking lots can get full but people come and go so there's always a parking spot opening up from time to time. Good luck getting a picnic table, they usually get occupied quickly and are used most of the day. The area is family and dog friendly. But do bring bug repellent... I had shorts on and my legs got bit a few times and I had to leave the party early to avoid getting eaten alive. But i am thankful to have network at the BBQ, introduced to new people. Met a filipino who hikes and is a certified scuba divers who wants to go diving. Thankful for these new friendships. This place is awesome for evening walks and talks to catch the sunset. I love chasing sunsets with the silhouette of water and palm trees in the background. GOODNESS I LOVE LOVE LOVE SAN DIEGO. Until the next review...

Yelp
PROS: + respectful bikers, walkers, etc. + plenty of parking lot connected to park + Parcourse fitness center + play structure + basketball court (4 hoops) + flat and wide walkway + does not smell like ocean + no angry geese + fishing + people actually clean up their dog's poop :) CONS: - not very photogenic This is a great place to visit to kill time during traffic hour :)!

Yelp
Mission Bay park is another fantastic place to enjoy the beautiful San Diego sunshine! Trails are plentiful and BBQ pits are available. There are no admission fees and restrooms are plentiful. The park wasn't too crowded either!
google avatar

Yelp
Sunset Point Park is on Mission Bay next to The Dana Hotel and SeaWorld San Diego. We visited this place in may, during our first San Diego trip. It's a nice and relaxing place. There is a sandy shoreline here complete with fire pits for evening bonfires, but the sand and water are separated by a protective rock wall. This makes Sunset Point better for picnics and taking a walk instead of swimming and playing in the bay. There are picnic tables, fire rings, restrooms and a path for jogging or bike riding
google avatar

Irene M.

Yelp
This is the best place to go for a run (mostly flat) I love how it's close to the bay, you get a nice cool breeze. Although during sunset hours I'm always tempted to stop in the middle of my run to watch the beautiful sunset always in hues of red blue purple. breathtaking. There are also nice areas with shade to have picnics or just hang out with friends. Super nice and relaxing!

Yelp
Great park for running along the waterfront. The trail is clearly marked for pedestrians, runners and bikers. There are benches, restrooms, vending machines and water fountains. This park suits all ages as there are several designated playground areas for kids that includes sandboxes, swings, monkey bars, hop scotch and more awesome activities. Adults fret not...there's something for you as well. A full outdoor gym! Think abs, dips, pull-ups, you name it. Tons of outdoor equipment for your workout needs. You can get it all done (and with a gorgeous view) at Mission Bay. ~Christy

Yelp
Super hot day inland, 90's, I came here to get my walk on! It's a cool 74 here! Sun is warm but the breeze is wonderful. I live close by so this hits the spot.

Yelp
I've been here a few times already for picnics, bonfires etc. Most recently I was here on Saturday for the Shaka Fest. They have several large parking lots and I've never had trouble finding a spot. This is rare for beaches/parks in San Diego. They have public restrooms here which is really convenient, it's definitely not clean at all but super useful. Make sure to come early if you want a good spot for bonfire.

Yelp
We came here on a weekend trip. I grew up on the water, but no longer live in Cali. It's always a good trip when the beach is involved(at least in my opinion). There were lots of people involved in so many different activities. From sunbathing to biking and running and bbqing. I didn't get in the water. When I let me feet touch the water, it was way too cold. The weather was gorgeous. Like perfect! I could've stayed all day and night. I feel like there was enough distance between people and their families that people were practicing social distancing without trying. It's always a recommendation for anyone to experience the beach and park.

Yelp
Laid back Sunday funday this is our chill hangout place. Hubby likes to launch his sail boat over here. Nice public dock for the boats. Close to Mission beach Blvd to my faves -better buzz coffee and pizza places. I like to walk in the mission bay trail. People so laid back enjoying sunny and breezy San Diego. It gets really busy when it's holidays so better come early and reserve your spot.

Yelp
Mission Bay Park.. beautiful area and super scenic spot! *Great park for working out: running, jogging, rollerblading etc. *They bay is a great spot for boating, kayaking etc. *Awesome spot for parties and picnics with lots of tables and spots to post up on along with a ton of grassy areas *Fire pits for bonfires!! ;D *Tons of parking PS. Parking can be hectic during peak times, but the views and overall surrounding area make it worthy of a visit.~

Yelp
Lovely, lovely. By any stretch of the word. And vast. Room for everyone, well almost. This is *The Place* for family picnics, bbqs, bicyclists, skaters, runners, kite flyers, strollers, boaters, dog owners (before 9am and after late afternoon), shade lovers, sun worshippers, bird watchers, and old folks who still insist on holding hands (that's us). The beach is clean, the water calm and inviting. And it appears, most people are respectful of this special place. I love coming here. It is *so* San Diego.

Yelp
I can't believe how awesome this park is! So much grassy area for the kids to run around in and plenty of equipment to climb on. The coolest part about this park is the mommy/baby swing. They didn't have this when I was a kid but now you can sit on a swing that is attached to a infant swing so you can look at baby and share the experience. There is plenty of parking right in front of the park. There's also street parking but... You have to back in to the spot. Mission Bay park is one of the best places to watch the San Diego sunset if you ask me. You can sit on the strand steps from the water and watch the big orange sun sink into the ocean. There is always a nice cool breeze here and lots of places for barbecue and picnics. You're bound to make friends here as it is very popular and busy with other parents and their children who come here on a regular basis. A few highlights for this Park: you can see the horses on fiesta Island that people bring down to ride on the strand and there are always a few daredevils kitesurfing right in front of you. The perfect San Diego show!
