Sebastian's On The Beach

This is our second visit to Sebastian’s By The Sea. Our 1st was in 2016, just prior to the devastating Hurricane Irma. A lot has changed, but Sebastian’s has recovered nicely. This is a 3 star hotel, but it offers oceanfront rooms with unbeatable views, a delightful shower (most welcomed after a 10 day sail)! The restaurant has a meals throughout the day, a bar and bingo/karaoke nights. We spent 3 nights and the water was filled with surfers taking in some stellar waves. The beach was very rocky, (we were told that Mother Nature gives and takes the sand depending on the tides). They offer a free shuttle to a great sandy beach at Smuggler’s Cove. The breakfast menu is outstanding with waffles and eggs Benedict both delicious. Our waitresses were friendly and attentive, but don’t be in a hurry. Take in the beautiful views of Jost Van Dyke or the surfers catching waves. Lunch and Dinners have something for everyone. The location is in Apple Cay on the West End of Tortola, which has a variety of restaurants to choose from. The front desk can arrange a ride (cost is per person). The rooms vary in size and location. Our room was a spacious second floor Ocean Front, which was great. In spite of the crashing waves, we didn’t hear a thing at night. The rooms have AC, TV and a small kitchenette with dishes, microwave, fridge and coffee maker. We loved the low key vibe as we decompressed coming off our sailboat! It is not for the fussy or people looking for a Marriott level accommodations, but it had everything we needed and more!

Such a great experience at this laid-back out of the way beach Hotel in the West End of Tortola at Little Apple Bay. When I contacted them to inquire about a day pass while we were visiting from our cruise ship, the staff told us that we were welcome to come and enjoy the facilities, bring a beach towel, and perhaps visit their restaurant or bar. That’s exactly what we did, and we had an absolutely great day. The bar was comfortable, and affordable. Afterwards, we lounged on the beach chairs under an umbrella. The surf is wild, and we saw no swimmers, but many talented surfers. The beach immediately at the hotel is rocky, but Sandy Beach is nearby. The staff was lovely. They offered beachfront rooms, a few feet from the waves. Altogether a lovely experience. The taxi ride is $12 a person if you’re in a group, and $35 for a private ride. The hotel staff will call the taxi for you if you’d like. Perfect day in Tortola!

We stayed in the Hibiscus room and loved it, it is spacious and private. The window is basically the entire width of the room, facing the sea over the room's balcony. So there is nobody and nothing opposite the room, just the sea, beautiful. We left the balcony door open at night, listening to the sound of the waves while falling asleep. The Wi-Fi of the hotel works reliably. You should be aware that it is about a 2 minute walk to the breakfast restaurant and to the reception. You can get refreshments, beverages and snacks at the reception. There are various other restaurants in walking distance but the beach is not really usable here, so for this you will need a car. Just 12 car minutes away is the beautiful Smugglers Cove beach with 2 cozy beach bars. Staff was friendly and helpful. The reception arranged a car rental for us within 15 minutes which was amazing. We enjoyed our stay.

Room was just ok, it was somewhere to sleep anyway…location is ok but not easy to get anywhere from here, no beach here it’s all rocks, front desk staff very friendly. Could hear mice running through the wall all night, so made it hard to sleep. Restaurant across the street was hit or miss on items they had , most times we were there they were out of a lot of stuff, but always had drinks!! And views were spectacular!! Overall it was an ok stay, would I stay here again, probably not!!

We ate here twice. The food and service were fantastic. Definitely try the chicken roti! We also had the pleasure of enjoying the live music on Christmas night, and really appreciated the Christmas goody bags!

Location great, staff accommodating, & room was clean & comfy for the most part except for ants by the sliding glass door & a few at the bathroom sink.Housekeeping was alerted. Room needs a refresh /updating along with bath towels. No toiletries provided. Nardis Bar & Restaurant had good food & drinks.

This is a great hotel if you’re not a picky person, very nice hotel for a person that’s chill and enjoys island time… I highly recommend especially if u don’t have a car. Staff are A1.

Simply the best ever . The location is just beautiful. It’s on the quiet side of the island next to beautiful things beautiful beaches. The staff were just absolutely lovely especially ketanya and Roy. Really just a wonderful family vibe hotel with delicious restaurant that care about their guests. Also hit them up for any advice on car rental or anything else. They’re happy to assist . definitely coming back.
