Second Home Hostel

You feel the warmth from the beginning by the staffs’ welcoming and caring! They helped a lot to make my daily plans and directed to the best activities and food. The rooms are spacious for a hostel and the bathrooms have been cleaned every day. I will miss the family dinners and amazing pun crawls and the chilling at the rooftop terrace. I recommend to everyone Second Home, especially if you are a solo female traveler! Feel safe and enjoy your stay!

The hostel is located near Eminönü, it is near to everywhere!! 100 meter down is the train station and 500 meters down is the sea and the ferries. |You can see the bridge from the rooftop, the stuff is super friendly, open to actives and especially the evening dinners are great to get the know other people. |I loved being there and also joining the pub crawl and the tours the stuff recommended me. |In a nutshell it was a great experience and I would visit the hostel again when I’m in Istanbul. |Thank you for everything!!

Being here was the best decision ever, I was torn between couple of hostels but staying in second home is exactly how it feels. Like a second home as a female solo traveler I didn’t feel solo at all from day one I got so much help support, fun plans and amazing people. Samira showed me activities, places fo visit, what to stay aware of in term of security and safesty. And when we were outside in the club or any hostel planned activity, not only did Samira and the crew made sure we were safe but also made sure we were having fun and integrating with the group. I left for a few days and came back to the same hostel because of Samira.. life of the party, good energy, great organiser, amazing leader, you can trust her with your life honestly I had so much fun. as for the hostel itself it’s clean, very centred everything is at proximity. They have a kitchen and a rooftop and a 24h reception

From the first time I set foot in this hostel, I fell in love with the hospitality of Memo and the rest of the staff. They are so friendly and kind when answering your concerns online. They provide detailed information and with exciting trips and adventures. Unfortunately, I was not able to experience any dinner at the terrace or spectacle, due to the academic nature of my trip with many places, museums and mosques to visit. However, I am wishing to come back soon to experience it. The rooms were clean, even sharing the bathroom I was surpised by how wellkept it was. To make it even better, Topkapi Palace, Ayasofya and the Suleymaniye were so close on foot that it could not be better. In addition, the hotel arranged the taxis to get to the airport and I have never met such friendly taxi drivers in my entire life. The hottel was even able to schedule my taxi departure later, so that you can see how flexible and hospitable were Memo and the staff. Such a friendly atmosphere cannot be missed in the best city in the world :), as the name of the hostel says, Second Home hostel has become my second home.

The people that work here are fantastic! As soon as we arrived for our stay, they gave us a free round of tea and sat with us to give us recommendations on where to go and which restaurants to visit. There’s a rooftop bar here, and while the bartender is not always working there you are welcome to bring your own drinks. The rooms were great with AC and towels included. There’s also a house cat in the lobby!

4 amazing days at Second Home Hostel, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Beyond the incredible location — right in the heart of Istanbul — everything is thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home. The staff’s hospitality is truly exceptional. They go above and beyond to make your stay special, always kind, helpful, and full of good vibes. On my first Sunday morning, I had the chance to join a local-style brunch with everyone — it was delicious and such a warm moment to share. Although I didn’t socialize as much as I could have (I was eager to explore the city on foot and follow my own rhythm), the hostel offers great opportunities to meet fellow travelers — through activities, communal spaces, and the beautiful rooftop terrace. I’m already looking forward to coming back — this time, to experience Istanbul in a different way and connect more with the amazing people passing through this place. Thank you for your warm welcome and kindness. It really made a difference. 🧡

Took me forever to finally write a review. I took a private room this March and the room was really tidy and comfortable,also affordable. But what I really came here to say is how kind and welcoming the stuff members are. They invited me several times for dinner for free. They cooked during the month of Ramadan for the guests for free. I wasn't able to join unfortunately but it was such a nice gesture. Really good people, kind and respectful!

Second Home was fantastic. It's in a great location in the Old Town, where you can walk all over to see the sights of Istanbul. It was the best time I have had in a hostel. Semira and Faruk were unbelievable hosts. They showed us around, served us a family dinner and made us feel so welcome. Cannot wait to go back!
