I just left this thrift store, and I will never be returning ever again. Not only did I feel unwelcome every time i walked in, (no greet, no eye greet, or smile) but this incident was the last straw.
there was a middle age African american male, (maybe homeless) shopping for books. he walked over to the older ladies at the counter to ask some questions on the items. the ladies seemed extremely terrified, this man was approaching them.
as i walked around the store, the comments made about that man, (amongs the staff) made me extremely upset and uncomfortable. Yeah, maybe he was homeless, but he did not deserve that. he was looking around, stood, in line and PURCHASED like any other costumer. these ladies cant run a business if they cant adjust their 1950's white old fashioned ideals.
after he was out of the store they STILL continued. there was a friend of theirs who "stuck around" incase he "DID ANYTHING". one of them said, "I thought he was going to take one of the necklaces. (which are ugly and overpriced by the way)
NEVER AGAIN.
