The Secret Garden (Bruges, Flanders) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"On the side that faces the picturesque Groenerei canal it’s a stately urban house, while on the back side it’s practically a country retreat. The Secret Garden is set right in the heart of Bruges, which, to be fair, is no megalopolis — but the tranquility on offer here is still remarkable. In its concept — and its size — it’s got more in common with bed and breakfasts than with luxury hotels, boutique or otherwise, but it’s also rather more comfortable than the B&B tag suggests: the décor is lavish, the bathrooms (with their Hermès products) spa-like, and the swimming pool and hot tub are a welcome surprise." - Tablet Hotels

Fantastic evening from start to finish. Perfect service, delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. Our waiter was extremely polite and helpful. He made us feel welcome and at ease. We ordered 7 smaller plates and one main dish between us and we both left feeling very full. Each dish was well presented and brought out either alone or paired with something that complemented it. The guacamole was the best I've ever tasted. The corn ribs with parmesan were delicious and every course was full of flavour. The waiter even brought us a celebration pudding for our wedding anniversary. We would thoroughly recommend this place for a special meal and would have no hesitation in returning next time we are in Amsterdam.

It has been some time since i visited but it has left a lasting impression. The food was flavourful, well-balanced, and presented with great care and charm. The service was not only attentive and professional, but also genuinely warm and humorous, which added a personal touch to the experience. They offered excellent guidance in selecting a white wine that complemented our meal perfectly. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and cozy, making it a truly enjoyable and memorable evening. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for both quality cuisine and a welcoming ambiance.

We had previously arranged reservations for one of the earlier times at 6:15. This was perfect as we were able to explore Amsterdam and stop in for a dinner and still have time to walk in the evening. The restaurant itself is gloriously decorated with rich greens and Dark blues. We reserved our spot in the garden, but there are other areas in the bar that looked just as wonderful. I enjoyed the mock cocktails as I don’t drink. The food was excellent, carefully prepared and presented. It was really the best food we have ever had. It was probably also the most expensive. But I don’t think I will ever experience this level of food again, so the cost was not a concern. I think the best way to enjoy the food is to each order a different dish and share. The best ceviche, lobster and the pineapple desert was a real surprise. The only drawback is the restrooms which are on the second floor. the stairs to the second floor are treacherous. Surprisingly the bathrooms and the upstairs are just as finely decorated.

Our first time at Secret Garden was amazing! The gentleman taking our table was wonderful and knew how to cater to each and every individual. The food was incredibly tasty, well timed and beautiful. The location and decoration were beautiful and there were no disturbances of the sounds outside (which were very loud when you were outside the restaurant!) I definitely recommend going to this gorgeous restaurant!

I love this restaurant. I dinned there with my wife and kids and it was amazing. The food is super nice and the waiters are great especially our waiter(Daniello); he was extremely nice and made us feel at home. Secret garden, hoping to come again.

The portions were insultingly small. We went for the six course menu, which costs around 70€ per person (drinks excluded). And at the end of it we were so hungry we had to go somewhere else to eat again. I know these types of places usually don't offer big portions, but honestly: having the courage of offering a single, tiny raviolo as one full course is a joke. I can't say it was a good experience and it is a shame, because the staff is amazing, the location unbeatable and the place is nice (although extremely warm due to the greenhouse effect: the glass ceiling can turn into a nightmare on a sunny day - and a bottle of water costs 8€...). And the food was very tasty, don't get me wrong, but come on: this feels like a scam rather than an "elevated cuisine experience" or whatever.
