Secrets on the Lake

This is a fantastic getaway location. Highly recommend it. The owners are fantastic people. They have been there since before the Dam filled up and are a genuine family operation. Hard to find old school getaways that are not just some corporate formula of what they think is good for you.

It’s just as wonderful as all these reviews describe. We stayed in the Nest as a splurge for a family of three. It’s a beautiful building nestled in the rainforest. The views over the lake through the trees changes throughout the day. |George and Aldy are wonderful and it is very clear the resort is a labour of love. |We came across an array of wildlife, a testament to the sustainability of the resort. The complimentary breakfast each morning was delicious and child friendly. The setting of the restaurant was beautiful. |The walkways nestled in the rainforest to the Nest added to the fun, our 7yr old loved walking to breakfast each morning!

Nestled in the heart of the Hinterlands, this tranquil place is a hidden gem that offers a truly serene escape from the chaos of daily life. Surrounded by lush greenery and overlooking a picturesque lake, this place is the perfect location for a peaceful getaway. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a rejuvenating experience in nature. The Deck restaurant not only offered delicious food but also provided exceptional views of the lake. For those looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Hinterlands, this place is a must-visit.

We went to the restaurant for breakfast and the view is amazing! So relaxing & peaceful. Menu has great options and very tasty. Great table service, no QR codes for once 😂 The staff were so friendly and the food came out quickly. Strongly recommend even for just a trip to the restaurant ⭐

Three friends hoping to enjoy a high tea at Secrets on the Lake Cafe. Gorgeous & very special location, but the service was ordinary & the high tea was average. Enjoyed the coffee. $150 for three people seemed a high price for the quality of food & service. Sadly, it fell short of expectations.

Had Christmas lunch with my wife, her sister and her partner, and mother-in-law. The food, service, and atmosphere were absolutely amazing. While we didn't stay in a room, I can imagine they would be five stars as well. I'll definitely be bringing my wife back, even for a weekend getaway.

Beautiful location, that allows you to embrace your dream retreat, good service from very friendly staff and delicious food. Unfortunately, Kitchen closes around 2pm so for romantic dinner you have to drive somewhere which would not allow you to enjoy alcohol together, someone has to be a designated driver 😉

My sister had a high tea here for her 18th birthday and it was beautiful! The staff were amazing and accomodating, they even brought us all a beautiful rose at the end! The food was delicious and the views are spectacular. They had the whole hide-a-way set up for just us, with a bathroom and everything. The food was delicious and there was plenty with so much left over! Many choices of drinks, which the staff offered a few times throughout the day so everyone could top up. We had ages from 4-70 and everyone had a beautiful day, it was perfect! We couldn’t recommend this place more, thank you to all the staff today for your wonderful service!
