From reception where you are greeted with smiles and pleasantries especially from Gisela , who always made sure my situation was resolved and I was enjoying my y stay. You immediately sense the service oriented approach. Everyone greets you and is there to help. I would especially like to thank Bernardo concierge of building 6, Angel, Elias, and Michael concierges for the preferred pool for making my 70th birthday celebration a memorable one. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank Martin and Martin R for making my family’s stay an especially relaxing one. Your attention to our needs made us never wanting for anything. Thank you for your hard work. It was especially nice to be greeted every morning at the Market Cafe every employee was friendly and helpful. I would especially like to thank Christian and Fernando for their attention to every one of my family’s needs. Your wonderful personalities and hard work are greatly appreciated. Just a wonderful experience.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. It was an amazing experience. We told them the reason for our stay and upon arrival, our door was decorated with a sign and our room had a bottle of champagne on ice waiting for us. The staff are highly attentive and personable. The event staff are high energy and were able to draw crowds for activities. I liked using the app for room service and to check out that resort activities were happening each day, as well as check the hours of operation for restaurants on the resort. The food and drinks were prepared well, but the quality of the facility and staff really made this trip amazing. We happened to stay during the Easter holiday and the Easter Bunny paid a visit which was fun! Great ocean views. We had a room overlooking the main pool, which was cool to spectate special evening events. There were always chairs by the pool and oceanfront. We felt totally safe the entire time for our first international and all-inclusive trip. The adults-only atmosphere was relaxing and a definite perk of this resort. We would love to try another Secrets resort in the future!

We went to Secrets Playa Mujeres with a big group of family and friends for our wedding and we all had an amazing time. We particularly want to shout out Iridian, our wedding planner, as she ensured our wedding went flawlessly. She was so helpful and friendly through what some might say can be a stressful process, but she was so knowledgeable. She was also our day of coordinator and she ensured everything ran smoothly! |Our stay at the resort itself was no different. Everything was clean and all staff were attentive. Everyone was so energetic and it made for a fun experience for everyone when it came to activities around the beach and pool. We also enjoyed all the food and drinks! While the desserts were a little lacking, they made it up with delicious appetizers and entrees. There is no lack of variety during your stay there. |Highly recommend coming for your next vacation! We all felt we needed more time there!

Secrets Playa Mujeres is a spectacular resort! My husband and I spent a week in April and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The food was delicious - our favorite restaurants were Bordeaux and Portofino and we also loved being able to go over to Dreams next door for the Mediterranean restaurant there. The grounds were clean and beautiful, the beach was very walkable and clean and the entertainment was great as well. The best however was the staff who provided exceptional service in the restaurants and especially poolside and the cleaning staff does an amazing job. Highly recommend this resort!

We were there for my 60th birthday and had a wonderful time. The location is closing for renovation which I didn’t know when we booked and my comments about the property will not apply when they reopen again. The building and rooms is old and felt like it was neglected, in need of upgrade. |Over all cleanliness of the rooms was good. House keeping team were great. We got champagne and cake for my birthday and the few other things that we needed and asked for were delivered promptly. I have stayed at other properties and this by far on the lower end but Dreams next door was a lot fancier. |Service everywhere was 10 out 10|The hostesses at the Market Cafe, not so friendly and not very welcoming. |Wait staff unbelievably friendly and I was treated like a princess everywhere and birthday was acknowledged which made me feel super special. |The entertainment team Felix, Juan, Carlos, Jesus, Francisco and Sebastian made our week exciting and extremely special. They kept everyone entertained, engaged and smiling. |Sergio the chef who made the best omelet for us every morning, Elvis who is super happy with an amazing voice and Katia made our dining experience very memorable. |Thank you everyone for the great time!!!!!

My group and I had an AMAZING time at this resort, which was very accommodating in many ways. I'd like to give special recognition to Jamie (restaurant waiter), Elfidio (restaurant manager), and Sabrina (restaurant hostess). Each restaurant we dined at was a great experience, but these employees went above and beyond with our service. Highly recommend staying here for a vacation to the area!

Google
We cannot recommend Secrets Playa Mujeres Resort enough! This was not only our first visit to Cancún but our first all-inclusive experience; it was an incredible way to spend 7 wonderful days. The food was no less than good but there were some fantastic meals such as the Japanese restaurant, Himitsu. The hotel is about to undergo a major remodel, but the grounds were lovely and the rooms overall were nice (sure, slightly dated but nothing significant). The pools and bar were fabulous and the entire team was EXCEPTIONAL. Having worked in hospitality many years ago, my partner and I truly appreciate great service and SPM did not disappoint. As queer individuals as well, we felt completely comfortable, welcomed, and taken care of. We did have one tiny incident that occurred but the staff were so quick to respond and made everything right, no questions asked (things happen, and we understand that). Huge, huge shoutout to Paulina - the PC Guest Services Manager and to Allison from Concierge. We were so impressed by their service and the whole experience that we have booked to stay at Secrets Moxché at Playa del Carmen in December. A huge thank you to the entire team and we look forward to returning when the renovations are completed.

Google
Resort was beautiful and had an amazing view from our room. Only issue was that we weren’t notified about the closing of the resort leading up to our last day. Staff numbers were low along with restaurant options being closed. Not the staff’s fault but it would have been nice to know upon booking months ago that our dates were leading into this time. The last two days of our stay, we definitely had to compromise on drink/food options without having to be forced to leave the adults only resort for the family Dreams next door. I would say in a different timeframe, this stay would have been amazing.

Yelp
So many good things to say but the couple of negatives made a big enough impact to lower my rating. Most important: the service was fantastic. I really can't say enough good things about the staff and how hard they work to provide excellent service all day long. From the pool servers to the entertainment staff to the waiters and waitresses in the restaurants. All great. The pools and pool decks/common areas are all clean and well maintained. Our room was clean as well. This goes a long way with me. The food... for me it was just ok. The best thing I had was the filet mignon at Seaside Grill. The burgers at the outside grill area were also very good. My husband loved the breakfast buffet and there were lots of options from fruit and yogurt to omelets to pancakes etc. Someone who loves lots of new and interesting ingredients/foods would probably appreciate the food more than I did, honestly. I felt a little underwhelmed at times. We did have to change rooms mid-stay due a smell would couldn't identify but was definitely unpleasant in our room or bathroom. We asked them to rectify it and they came to clean but the smell returned and we needed to move. This was handled relatively quickly without much hassle which we appreciated. Overall, I enjoyed the beautiful resort and left feeling relaxed and like the vacation was definitely worth it. I don't know that I would return to this resort again, but that doesn't mean we didn't have fun! (P.S. all the sales pitch stuff is SUPER annoying. You have to firmly decline and they'll stop but they will try).

Yelp
Okay- we got spoiled and our only other Secrets experience was Secrets Akumal- where our daughter was married- there is NO comparison between the two- especially as far as service and communication Let me be clear- many of the staff and workers are amazing!! So helpful, cheerful and the pool entertainment was fantastic. The band who had some equipment issues due to water being splashed on their equipment, was so talented and the crew who engaged us with games and exercises were awesome There is no building concierge- we never heard from the concierge at all- so not really sure where the shows or activities even were, unfortunately. The Ap is a bit confusing as is the one board by the pool. We were also with a corporate event so not lots of free time at night, so this was a bit on us, But having a concierge who we could ask questions and get a print out of the days activities and where they were- was much more helpful We wanted to watch the Big 10 championship game- there is no sports bar and when we were guided to the cavernous, impersonal Desires- there was just some boxing matches on a couple of basic TVs with a few hard chairs near them- we went back to our room, watched on our own TV with our room service to eat We enjoyed the sit down restaurants we ate at- including Oceana, Portofino, and Bordeaux - Coco cafe has great coffee too The views from our room were stunning- but we forgot our damp rid- and wish we had not. Even in December- our clothes stayed damp the 3 days we were there. It was very windy when we were there so while we walked the gorgeous stretch of beach daily- the red flags were out- so not swimmable nor any activities available There is only one large pool with different sections- but it is very nice. Drinks were not the same caliber as at Akumal- but the bartenders are great and still lots of options If you eat at the buffets- we recommend getting your dishes cooked to order on the grill. Anytime we got items from the chafing dishes at buffet- they were cold and stale-chafing dishes often were not even being warmed and food was not replaced as they emptied. Our company had a buffet event and we could not choke down the tasteless, cold food that was left, as we were some of the later diners- there was no table by table order, just a mass of 300 people all trying to get their food from just 2 stations at the same time- so went back to our room and ordered room service which was delicious Word- on room service- just call! We tried the Ap- and it bombed out- so I called to see if our order went through- was told there was no order for our room so placed again- only to have 2 orders delivered. There is a lack of communication here. Our biggest issue, was the resort's mishandling of our room check out dates. When we checked in, we made sure the correct date was for check out- as we were staying longer than our event, and had paid in full prior for the extra night. Yet on the app the date was wrong. We contacted the front - actually took the golf cart over, was told no- that was just a glitch and would be corrected. Well, the extra day comes and we get locked out of our room and told we cannot even get our things until we put hundreds on our credit card. We were treated rudely and as if they caught us trying to run a scam. Nobody wants to have their vacation tainted by false, hurtful accusations. We showed proof that we had paid and explained that we made sure the dates were correct at check in. But nope- either we put the money on our credit card or we could not get our belongings or have access to our room. We were treated like we were trying to rip the resort off by the first team member - who told us we should have checked out at noon- and instead took advantage of the resort- and while a manager came over and was nicer about it- it was still "hand over your credit card or else"- of course the next day they realized their mistake. The following day we did get an apology phone call- and charges removed but that was it. So not exactly 5 star service by any means. This resort is a fraction of what Akumal pricing is- it is about to be renovated- we get it. This resort is a great value for what it is, but is not the 5 star Secrets resort you might expect. I know on some of the social media sites - there are posts stating this resort is the same or better than those that truly are 5 star- it is not. BUT- it the grounds are beautiful, the rooms are very nice, there are many team members who are just the best- but it is not consistent. Do not expect the same degree of service and avoid the buffet chafing dish options- fresh only.

Yelp
Let me tell you about this resort! It was everything I expected yes. The food was eoooo good the staff was EXCEPTIONAL!! We also were able to access Dreams resort and that property is beautiful. If you ever get a chance please visit either property they both share uniqueness.

Yelp
I had the most pleasant experience coming to this hotel. But overall, what made me feel most happy was the service I received from a specific server. Her name is Jazmin. I dined at Sea Side Grill. I must say everything she did for me was beyond happiness. I can't even put it in words how satisfied I am with the service I received from her at this restaurant. I just want to write this review and give her a shout out and say thank you to her because it is of her I will be returning to this resort.

Yelp
The Secrets Playa Mujeres resort by Hyatt Inclusive Collection was amazing! The service from arrival in the lobby, throughout the entire stay and checkout was first class all the way. The resort itself is in a great location and secluded so it's perfect for relaxation. The staff is very attentive and helpful and always there to take care of you. The resort is large and has several restaurants plus a buffet, and 24 hour room service. The food was delicious and offers a wide variety of options including vegetarian and some vegan. During the week, the resort offers dinner alfresco with themed entertainment such a fire show and a mariachi show featuring folk music, singing, and dancing. The resort has a number of large pools. The main pool in the center had a swim up bar. Throughout the pool area, there are numerous lounges, daybeds, and Balinese beds for guests to lounge. During the day, there is a variety of entertainment in the pool area, such as water aerobics, dance parties, games for guests to enjoy, and stage performances by the activities crew. The activities crew does an amazing job getting people excited!! The resort also offers a nightclub called Desires. The night club offers a wide range of music from hip-hop to R&B, Spanish rock and pop, and electronica/dance music. The club is open from 11 PM to 1 AM. The staff at the club was amazing, in particular, Marcela, who made sure that we always had a fresh beverage in hand. During our stay, we had dinner on the beach. The experience was unique and the dinner consisted of filet mignon and Australian lobster. The set up was amazing, and the staff very accommodating. Kudos to chef Laura for a delicious and fancy dinner with several rounds of tequila shots. The best way to get around the resort is to hop on and off the golf carts. Resort employees, chauffeur guests to various points from which they can walk to access restaurants, the beach, and the sister resort next-door, Dreams. Between the two resorts, there is so much to do. I highly recommend this resort. Enjoy!

Yelp
First, I want to start off and say make sure you bring linen pants for the men because jeans are not going to be comfortable in the weather that they have here. They are extremely strict on the dress code for the restaurants and they charge $200 for men's pants in the gift shops. We had a good time. The food was better in the high-end restaurants than the normal restaurants and the drinks were good if you could find a bartender that knew how to make drinks. Light that it was an adult only all inclusive, so there weren't a lot of kids running around. The resort had many activities throughout the day you could park in. The beach was a little dirty with seaweed, but they tried to clean it up each morning.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this resort. It was my first time traveling out of the country. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and knew my name as i travel throughout the resort. My husband and I had planned a symbolic wedding Ceremony on the beach, and the wedding planner was top notch. She stayed in contact with me throughout the entire planning process. The rooms were spacious, decorated minimal but modern, and cleaned daily. We had a swim out suite, and it was absolutely gorgeous. There are plenty of restaurants, and bars. The staff at the main building were very helpful with planning excursions. Always book the club level. You will have access to a bar, and food. The only downside is, this resort is made for couples, and really laid back. It's not a party scene. If you want to get away and reconnect with your spouse, then this is the place for you. Can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
I have every doubt in my mind that this property could eventually become a five star resort, however, given my experience in having the opportunity to stay at other resorts in the Cancun area, it is evident that this property did just open earlier this year. While the grounds are very beautiful, and the rooms are clean with an element of class and sophisticated decor, the property has yet to accomplish its attention to detail. The staff struggled with timing of cleaning of the rooms and they're turned down service which they did at strange odd hours of the day, one night they came in and knocked at 9:30 to turn down the bed and we were already ready to go to sleep. After dinner one evening we had come back and they had not yet cleaned the room so we waited outside for about 20 minutes for them to complete their service. they haven't quite mastered filling up the minibar, and making snacks available, there weren't any options, really anywhere in the premises except for the coffee bar, which was limited and not super appealing. They brought some Pringles and some peanut M&Ms. as far as the food, our favorite night was at Oceana in which we were attended to by an amazing gentleman by the name of Jordi, who was so friendly had incredible attention to detail and really made us feel like the evening was worth such a special experience. that evening was certainly our favorite meal and overall most enjoyable night. The food options were subpar. They were not the best inclusive of the outdoor grill and the Asian restaurant was quite disappointing. One of the best benefits for an all-inclusive is the variety of a fabulous breakfast and brunch buffet, and that was not the greatest. as for the staff, Sixto, Angelica, and Antonio, at Market Cafe, they truly went above and beyond to do everything possible to make up for what was maybe lacking in the food for a friendly and warm, welcoming experience for breakfast. The pool areas were very beautiful lush grounds of which they hand selected each and every plant and brought them in individually to be planted into the property of which was a very unique take on the aesthetics of the grounds. Beverage staff during the day during pool hours were very friendly and accommodating. Chairs and towels were very comfortable and lush and available at our convenience. There are so many elements that again could eventually make this a five star property but at this time there is certainly much to be worked on. People do an all-inclusive trip to come for the exclusive special treatment and most importantly the food and service, so would love to see that improved upon for the next time.

Yelp
We stayed at that resort for four days! We enjoyed the most part of it! Beach was clean and they remove seaweeds every day from the shore! The room was fantastic and very elegant and we enjoyed the view too! Service was excellent for the most part The food was okay not the best but okay! All restaurants are first come first serve except one called Himitsu ! Last night we tried to reserve online and we couldn't! I went to the restaurant and the front desk guy said it was full but he can squeeze me in if I buy a very fancy wine bottle for $100!! Overall it was a very pleasant experience and Definitely we will back to Cancun but maybe different hotel!

Yelp
Such a fun resort to go to! I will have to preface that this was my first resort in mexico. I am sure others might be better or worse, but as a first time resort experience, it was magical! This place has it all! I didn't use all the features, but I did dine at a lot of the restaurants and experiance the pool and beach side services. Check in was a breeze, we had the driver pull up to the front and they were able to check us in quickly. They offered us drinks and a hot towel to start. They took our info and and took us to our room shortly after. The staff was really helpful, and spoke both spanish and english. The rooms were prestine and clean. The mini bar was filled with drinks and snacks. Room service was prompt and the food looked freshly made. The outdoor area was well kept and manucured. I really like the attention to detail all the staff have. They ensure our needs were met at the pool side, restaurants, and beach area. The drinks kept coming and the friendly service with it. The food was good overall, I was hoping for more mexican flare, it seemed like more american than what I was expecting. As far as price to value goes, I think there are other places where you can get more for your buck "peso". But if you are here for a wedding, have no doubt that youll have a blast. We did!

Yelp
Wedding/Vacation Collectively as a group we spent over $200k. I think I can leave a honest clear review with photos that would be deciding factors of your future trip here. 1. The golf cart guys, and front lobby people are amazing. They would give us information about the city and resort. Remembering names and families. Made us feel warmed and welcomed. 2. Smoking policy is STRICT, kinda beyond what makes sense. Why would you all sell us a $600 cigar rolling table with matches and then tell us we can smoke outside the party, THEN tell every that did move outside to smoke they can't smoke. That's very inconsiderate and why would we spend 600 for a cigar roller when we can smoke them. Literally a joke. 3. This place is UNSAFE. We had 3 guest slip and fall because of wet floors. One guest went to get assessed and they were trying to charge him to even look at it. WARNING most of the floors are wet from condensation in public and private places. I was afraid to have my father walk home on his own due to this. UNSAFE conditions. 4. My guest had their bathroom ceiling fall in, along with multiple mold issues. 5 rooms had to be reassigned due to mold and water damage. So over 10 people had to be moved due to water or mold issues. 5. Communication- My guest of honors gets to the resort. She is 98 years old and needs a handicap room. The reservation includes handicap on actual paperwork. She had to wait until 6pm to get a room. That is ridiculous. 6. Food- it's a no for me but had a few places that we enjoyed. But from the soft over cooked shrimp to the pizza with no sauce. It's not worth the resort fee they charged my guest to be on the resort. 7. Prices change all the time here. They literally will change before your eyes. We were charged various different prices pending on the day. They kept reinstating their policies but never stated these things before. 8. I would not invite a big crowd here. I would be firm on the price I pay because it's not worth it to me. The place is old, shabby, they don't serve food all day. They don't serve drinks all day. Overall not really a vacation, more like a facility stay. The most fun I had came from the people who showed up for us at this wedding. It was a beautiful wedding. But seems like they do so many that they do it day by day. So a few unorganized points that caused frustration. Paloma was Awesome Leo was Awesome Martin was Awesome Alex was Awesome. But understand this hotel will scrape you for every dollar. Literally saw the. Leave my grandfather because they were focusing on a balance that "wasn't unpaid". Would I come back? Absolutely not, and I would suggest you come unless you've never been on a resort before. Otherwise you will be dissatisfied. This is NOT a 5 Star Hotel. UPDATE: Spoke to operations manager Jessica Jimenez. I had to force the front desk lady for me to speak to her. Her frustration gave Jessica the wrong impression and she barely wanted to listen to me. Gave her room numbers told me I don't have to repeat it. At the end she said there was nothing to do about it. Another update is she works between both of the scamming hotels. I've had guest irate in the lobby due to the horrible service. This is just terrible. Secrets and Dreams. This post will suffice for both.

Yelp
The views are the only thing that's breath taking. Don't even think about eating anywhere unless you adhere to the attire police. Spend thousands to be turned away because you wore dress shoes, dress pants and a dress sweater. Remember what I said, spend thousands to be turned away for adhering to their dress code!
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Food is just not good. I'm here for a wedding. Hands down worst food at any wedding I've been at If you can't afford things to be all inclusive at at high level don't offer it. Ethnic foods that are for "white" palates. Will not be coming to this or any other secrets ever

Gina R.

Yelp
Everything amazing here. Especially the customer care. Beach is beautiful, rooms and grounds-immaculate. Delicious food options. Can't wait to go back!!
google avatar

Nancy O.

Yelp
Pick a different resort. The dress code alone is annoying and a pain in the rear end. That's all. You can't get in anywhere even if you wear nice shoes. It's ridiculous.
google avatar

Kayla N.

Yelp
The best parts of this resort are 1. Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean Front Private Pool (the larger size pool; not the dinky ones) 2. Balinese bed at the beach 3. Oceana restaurant 4. Preferred Club Lounge makes the best drinks This resort has A LOT of mosquitoes. I assumed it is because of the heavy landscaping but I didn't have this issue at Le Blanc. Spa services (massage and hydrotherapy circuit) were okay. Specialty restaurants were horrendous (food wise). Service was decent overall.
google avatar

ミカ S.

Yelp
The hotel is clean and beautiful. The staff were very friendly and kind-- especially the staff at Gaucho's Grill which is on the Dreams side. The food at Gaucho's is also the best option, IMO. I also tried Oceana for lunch, which is a gorgeous venue. My partner and I also had ice cream at Dolce (also on the Dreams side) like 3 times! The drinks are also solid-- I had palomas and margaritas for days. Minus one star because (1) tried to give us the timeshare presentation as soon as we checked in-- which was really poor timing given that we had just arrived off a five hour flight and almost one hour shuttle ride. Luckily we were able to cut it short. (2) some of the food was really unappetizing/ mediocre. (3) cafe which is supposed to have late night hours had really poor and unappetizing offerings. (4) no horchata at all! Lol. But seriously, we would've loved to have some horchata. (5) there were jacuzzis, but since it was so hot we couldn't use them because they weren't open at night.
google avatar

Emi K.

Yelp
I can't believe my review got deleted or they created a new account or something! I love this resort. Only thing to watch out for is the 90 minute presentation. You can end up wasting your entire time there trying to unfold their vacation scheme. Just don't go to the presentation even if they offer gou some reward. Be smart haha. For us, we just kind of got into it and ended up wasting their time. We had fun figuring our their business tactics. However if we weren't mapping out their offer, we would have spent time walking the beach, eating more. At least in the backroom when you're negotiating, you can order all the virgin margaritas.

Yelp
(1/2) How could you not?? tl:dr down below Tired, weary, hungry etc. all the affects of your travel is taking a toll on your body. Stumbling through the airport, through baggage claim, through the exit where you meet your transport to start your long awaited vacation. Secrets Playa Mujeres Pulling up to the resort you're greeted with a glass of champagne from one of the wonderful attendants waiting outside. Whether or not it's your first time in an all-inclusive, the overwhelming feeling of excitement and joy rushes over your body. Giving you the proverbial, "second wind". As you step through the open air lobby you'll meet another attendant that'll direct you to check in table as well as a guide for any excursions you haven't already planned. You'll also have access to their other location, the Family Friendly, Dreams. (You chose this location for a reason and if you need to validate that reason, go to Dreams. Don't worry, I understand) After collecting your keys (mobile key is available but only available on one device) you walk through a little pathway where you wait for the cool carts that'll take you to the "residential" area. Immediately stepping into the main area you'll finally feel you made it. (There's a cool iguana statue in the lobby!) The room we checked into was a Junior suite with a swim out. I was hesitant at first since we were on the first floor and yaknow, hot places = big bugs and critters. However, our room had no such thing. The room was spacious with immaculate water pressure. There's also a TV in the room with a very peculiar channel, keep that in mind when channel surfing. Minibar is sweet too! A couple of beers and sodas, and don't be afraid to ask for water bottles too. The door to the swim out was a little bit heavy to start but once it moves, it really moves. They have a latch lock on them so be sure to always have that on when leaving. The swim out doesn't provide much privacy besides a little hedge along the pools and you share the location with your neighbors. Once you've unpacked, and rested a bit, it's time to head out and explore. (The air conditioner in the room could freeze hell over, but I guarantee you won't change the setting) Stepping out of your room you'll be greeted with a couple of options. Head to the pool? Grab some grub? Beach walk? Events? The options aren't limited. You can start your adventure however you like! We went with food first.

We visited in late October for a wedding. The staff was nice but beware art the airport and lobby of the hotel because of the aggressive sales people. The resort is beautiful and you have access to the family friendly resort next door, Dreams. All restaurants are first come first serve but you must be dressed. They have a pretty strict dress code compared to other resorts I've been to. They had complimentary room service 24/7. It was convenient because their app has all the information you need. My main complaint is the food it did not taste as great as I hoped. The food for the wedding was great and the food at the rodizio restaurant at Dreams was good. We had a great time but we were also with great company. All the staff at the hotel was friendly.

Yelp
I stayed in a Junior Suite with Ocean View for about a week in August 2021. The property was absolutely beautiful, with a luxury feel every step of the way. The moment we arrived, our bags were taken away and delivered directly to our room. We were handed glasses of sparkling wine as we completed the required COVID screenings. One thing we were concerned about was being hounded about purchasing a time share - we were offered to attend the presentation once during check-in, but we declined once and heard nothing about it again. The room itself was lovely. It was huge, and had a feeling of "zones" throughout the room. There was the bathroom at the front, and as you walk toward the back there was the sleeping zone, a desk zone, the couch/seating zone, a dining area, and finally the balcony. The view overlooking the pool was stunning, with a beach view further out. The coolest feature of the room was the iPad, which allowed us to view daily activities and restaurant hours and to place 24/7 room service orders. Another unique feature of the room was a room service box by the door - it allowed contactless delivery of room service and a place to store plates once finished. With the press of a button on the iPad, they would come and clear the plates from the box. The resort offered poolside and beachside beverage service (no wristband or anything required). They were attentive and made frequent rounds, so they weren't hard to flag down at all. The drinks are less strong than you would expect, but it's great for trying a few different options without over-indulging. We didn't have trouble finding loungers when we wanted them either (may have been related to COVID capacity restrictions, not sure there). We visited the spa during our stay for a massage and a facial. The staff was professional, and it was a very relaxing experience. They typically allow access to the hydrotherapy circuit with your treatment, but unfortunately, it was closed when we visited due to a hurricane. They offered to allow us access the following day, but we were leaving the resort and couldn't fit it in. To get around the huge resort, they had 24/7 golf carts available. The restaurants, gym, spa, lounges, theater, and front desk are a bit of a hike away from the rooms, so the carts were nice to have. There was a short wait during peak meal/show times, but we never waited too long for a ride. They covered them up whenever it rained. Finally, the FOOD. Everything we ate at the resort was amazing from room service, to the buffet, to the specialty dinner restaurants. Portion sizes run a little bit small at most places (except for room service which was huge) to let you try a larger variety of items. You also get exchange privileges with Dreams, and the golf carts will drop you off there. The best restaurant we tried was the French restaurant at Dreams - they had special welcome drinks and a 10/10 service experience. It could easily stand up next to the swanky French restaurants in NYC. The last thing I would note is that while we were visiting, a hurricane came through the peninsula. Severe weather can always be scary, but the resort handled it very professionally. They let guests enjoy the amenities the maximum possible time it was safe to do so, and they reopened activities as soon as possible after. They provided multiple notifications about the precautions via paper and the room iPad prior. They also made sure there was still food available to guests during the severe weather. Preparations were made to keep guests safe, so there was no damage following. You can trust that when you visit, regardless of what the universe throws your way, the resort will prioritize your safety and vacation experience.

Yelp
I'm probably pushing it with 3 stars, but the resort pictures on the website are pretty accurate. Let's start with check-in...simple and sweet, but beware of the nice young man who's gonna offer you a tour the next day. In the hustle of just trying to get to your room, be sure to say NO!! We made the mistake of saying ok and the club membership tour felt like a death sentence!! No, was not understood or respected. I became highly agitated! Wasn't expecting to be annoyed at the start of my vacation. Next tip, read the fine print. There were extra random fees it seems like they were making up fees due to it raining constantly they wanted to charge extra for everything. Food.... The Mexican restaurant was the most satisfying. We tried the Italian and I ended up with food poisoning and my wife followed. We had to PAY for pedialyte... spent the rest of our vacation eating bread absolutely terrified to eat. I think more time should've been invested in fully opening this resort for the price you pay. There definitely needs to be more indoor options for when it rains. Can't say I'll come back here. Yelp
If you have stayed at other Secrets resorts then you will know what you are missing here - it just doesn't compare. I did not expect the staff to be unfriendly .. repeatedly :-( ENOUGH of the time share pitches !!!! The place was falling apart - many issues with the room - crumbling concrete falling into the pool. Overcrowded - unless you get up at 6.30am you will not get a spot by the pool. Just so much disappointment - for me the whole Secrets chain is tainted by this poorly maintained and poorly run facility

Yelp
Food was not great. Staff expects tips for everything Rooms were nice. Watch out for the team selling time shares.

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed this resort very much! Secrets has some very amazingly talented musicians (violinist, saxophone, piano, trumpet, electric guitar, harp) . Romance taken to a different level. This is a "baby making , honeymoon, couples resort." Delicious food , service was top notch. I have been to other hotels in Cancun , but this hotel takes the cake on the overall experience . We used the photographer on site .Our photos came out great ! Thank you Anaide for capturing our precious moments.

Yelp
Beautiful resort breakfast was good, unfortunately they will make you sit down on your vacation time and talk to them about a time share/membership that is $100k and they will toss multiple Sales people at you. No is not taken as an answer. Take my advice. Tell them you have plans and you'll be late if you don't leave their meeting.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went for our 2nd anniversary and spent 6 days here. The service was amazing. From the very beginning, Amy at the VIP Desk explained some promos they had and told us about this 90 min informational session that would then end with us receiving some leisure dollars. While we did use these, don't waste your time going through with this. They are just trying to press you to sign up for their Unlimited Group travel program. Overly aggressive. Huge shout outs to: Amy @ the VIP Desk Rene and Victor from Room Service Denis at the Swim Up Bar @ Secrets Ivan & Alan @ the Infinity Pool at Dreams Christian @ Dreams Spa Karina & Yamili @ Secrets Spa Omar @ the Theatre Bar Abraham @ the Desires Bar

Staff won't look at you, assist you or provide you with anything unless you clearly have money in your hand..

Yelp
I wish I could come here every month. We had the most relaxing time and enjoyed all the great food. We did not get sick and no one tried to aggressively hustle us into a timeshare. We absolutely loved the ceviche and the octopus. Breakfast at Oceana is the best. We want to come back here again but we also want to explore other places as well. The service was great and we never had any issues.

Yelp
Only giving a 3-star review on this place because the location/views on the beach are great and because most of the staff were very friendly. Otherwise, this place was a damn ripoff. Entire resort seems rather dated and in need of serious capital investment to update rooms, finishes, the spa, etc. Pool was kind of gross and just felt like a warm tub; didn't help that I think everyone around me was urinating in it. Gross. The pool deck itself was pretty nice, though. Plenty of lounges and places to hang close to the pool to catch some sun, and the drink attendants were pretty good. The drinks themselves however, were beyond terrible. Be sure to ask for liquor by its name (i.e. 'Don Julio' vs 'Tequila') because if you don't they'll give you bottom of the barrel shit. Even still i'm convinced the alcohol is all watered down. Had a bartender tell me a bottle of Don Julio without plastic around the cap was "brand new, fresh from the box". Yea, sure it is buddy. None of the drinks tasted right. Stick to the bottled/canned beers. As mentioned, most of the staff were friendly. Gio from the entertainment team was my favorite for sure, but that whole group was very fun and outgoing. Some of the bartenders were kind of rude/demanding about tips, which I think should be earned and not expected. That said, it doesn't take much to get on their good side and have them give you heavier pours for the day. Food was mediocre at best. Small portions and just low quality food for the most part. I thought the breakfast was the best/most consistent, as it's hard to mess that up anyhow. The "24/7" room service was kind of a joke, as the app was down half the time and it was otherwise pretty slow. Only received turndowns on half the nights I spent there, and for 3 consecutive days/nights they failed to replenish the bottled waters in the fridge and I had to call for more (sometimes multiple times!). For the amount of money I paid I certainly expected more/better from an "all inclusive" resort. There has got to be better ones out there. If you do go, I found the bars/drinks/facilities overall at Dreams (the family friendly resort attached to Secrets) to be nicer across the board. Spend some time there in the evenings and you might find it a bit more tolerable.

Yelp
What a joke of an all inclusive. Cannot believe we wasted money and time at this disgraceful location. I have to point out that all of this.. HAPPENED IN THE FIRST 4 HOURS AFTER CHECKING IN Pros: The staff.. I really do appreciate the workers at this resort. From bell hop to restaurant workers, everyone was so welcoming and tried their best to make our stay enjoyable. I would like to give a shout out to Alejandro at Oceana restaurant but def this one star vs a zero star was Jaime at the Asian restaurant. He went way above his duties and ensured we had everything. Big big thanks to him!!! I will say our room, outside of the major issues we had with it which I will speak about in the CONS, was very pretty but for the price, i wouldn't expect anything less. We had the Preferred Swim out suite with our own decent size pool. Right down by the beach. If not for our issues, I would have said excellent room, away from the rif raff and easy access to oceana restaurant and the ocean. CONS: I dont know where to begin to so I'll continue with the room. For a "5 star" hotel, how do you not have any hot water. Initially, we were very understaing as we were being told it was a minor issue but they were working on it and it would be up and running in a matter of moments. Mind you, since we checked in couple hours prior to that, there wasnt any hot water. We went about and went to dinner with hopes it would be fixed by then. It was not. Kept getting the run around and other guests we spoke to confirmed the issue was ongoing. Spoke to manager who assured me by 9-930pm it would be fixed.. it was still not fixed by time we checked out. Their response to us wanting to freshen up or shower was to walk to the next resort and shower somewhere there!!!!!! There were outlets that did not work. At 2-3 star hotel, no big deal.. comes with territory, at this location.. completely unacceptable. Wife had try 6 different outlets throughout rooms to find one that worked to do her hair. Mini bar was beyond lackluster. Yes you can call and order what you'd like but so was so unimpressed it was almost a joke. Food: the most disgusting attempt at food I've ever tried or seen and I come from a third world country... it was so completely inedible that we thought they were playing a joke on us. We gave 4 places a chance bc they all cant be bad right?? Wrong.. each one was worse than the other. Oceana Restaurant, very nice looking.. and Alejandro was great in helping us. But holy crap was that horrible.. they brought out a sampler of all appetizers and nothing was edible. A waffle crab cake??? yes it was as bad as it sounds. We both had one spoonful of the soup couldn't stomach another bite. The main dish food was rubbery, no flavor and most importantly smelled. Sushi restaurant was just as bad in every way. The sushi rice was slimy and inside, well who knows what was in it. Ordered california roll and dynamite roll (shrimp tempura).. both gross.. The fried ice cream wasn't horrible, but still bad. Jaime, our waiter, was nice enough that he offered to get us food from any of the other restaurants that were close by and bring it to our table but we decided on a hibachi plate. Also, not unbearable but def very bad. Room service was the biggest joke of all.. ordered a cesar salad, pizza, pork loin and chicken taquitos.. one bite of each and it was bringing us on verge of throwing up.. It was so frustrating that we couldn't eat, shower or relax that after only 4 hours of being on site, I called Hyatt and Secrets and had a teleconference about how I can get out of this and have monies returned to me bc we couldnt stay one more minute. We wanted to leave this resort immediately!! They didn't want to let us break our agreement and wanted us to stay whole time. After an hour of being on phone with no resolution, we had to wait till next morning when the VIP host Valeria finally agreed to return half our expense and would let us check out early. Of course we immediately did and put this place in our rear view.. It was a disaster plain and simple.. please do not go here as you'll undoubtedly have some of the same issues. And for anyone who reads this and says the food wasn't as bad as I'm saying, please go have yourself checked out immediately, theres something wrong with you. If you do plan on staying here despite all this, I will be nice and try to give you a piece of advice if you're driving your own vehicle. I used 3 GPS, google maps, waze and apple maps, and each one brought me to a different location, even copying and pasting directions directly from hotel app. None of them were correct. We had to stop and ask random people how to arrive. so with that being said, please look for a front gate that says only "Playa Mujeres" on the brick wall and wait in the line to pass through that gate and then drive to the literal end of that road and you'll see Secrets Playa Mujeres

Yelp
I stayed here for two of the nights I was in Cancun last month. The hotel is located a bit far from hotel zone, so if you plan to hang out in that area, I wouldn't suggest staying here. When we arrived, we were welcomed with a glass of champagne before we even checked in. The resort is so huge, you'll need to ring the bell for a golf cart to swing by and pick you up to take you wherever you needed to go. Secrets is all inclusive, so we were able to dine and drink all we wanted. We were also able to enjoy the amenities and restaurants at their sister resort next door, which was a plus. The rooms were nice and clean- we had a nice view of the pool, but wish we were closer to the beach. We had breakfast at the Market Cafe, ate baked goods from Coco Cafe, booked facials at the spa, and checked out the swim-up bar. Service was excellent at every place we went. The staff even went above and beyond for what we asked for. For instance, I wanted a non-alcoholic drink that was pretty and the bartender said that it wasn't possible since everything in the drink I requested contained liquor LOL. Next thing I know, he surprises me with the prettiest slushy! You will never get bored if you book your stay here because there is something fun to do all day.

Yelp
Just arrived to Secrets Playa Mujeres and day 1 denied entrance to All restaurants because of my medical diagnosis requiring special footwear. A fellow UVC member and just wore same shoes to secrets Moxche, Maroma, Akumal, Live Aqua, The Grand at Moon Palace etc. mortified and embarrassed to say the least. I have medical documentation on hand, was told if I was in a wheelchair I couldn't wear these shoes. Wasn't afforded the opportunity to speak to a GM either. The evening desk manager wouldn't provide me his contact info. I was completely embarrassed and treated like I was a liar. Was told the same dress code would apply if I was in a wheelchair! I have bilateral plantar fasciitis and foot bursitis with heel spurs, I have custom footwear, get injections in my feet, and the only sandal I wear are recovery ones.

Yelp
At 11:30 pm on a Friday night we cannot find an open entertainment venue or bar on this resort. NOTHING is open other than Desires club that clearly only caters to the 20 something clientele. They do not even keep one of their bars open! I guess this is their way of pushing their guests in their rooms early. We are not party animal.by mo mrans. We are late 50 somethings who love to travel. However, we are used to resorts who cater to the fact that their guests are on VACATION!!!! This is our first post Covid trip and it has been totally disappointing. On the positive, for.the most part, the service has been awesome. Marcella, our pool bartender was absolutely amazing! We tip everyone sply because we feel they deserve it, but a simple thank you is appropriate. Some of the staff is rude obnoxious and downright disrespectful. ROOM: Upon check-in it was obvious that our floor had not been mopped. Stains were obvious when walked in the room. That tells me that they don't care Two requests to have someone to mop the floor has been worthless. Disgusting!!! FOOD: I have only experienced the food in the buffet which was food on our second night. The first night everything was overcooked and dried out.

Yelp
We just got back yesterday from our vacation SPM. We had a wonderful trip! We booked here because it is adults only, we have 2 small kiddos at home. My favorite part was the bali beds on the beach and the beautiful sunrises. I'm an early riser, so I was able to get us one no problem. The full shade was much appreciated, incredibly relaxing. The food was also really great! We loved the octopus at Oceana, the French food was amazing and the Brazilian steakhouse at Dreams was incredible. The only place you need a reservation is at the Hibachi grill (you can reserve at 12 pm on the AMR app each day), they had great sushi. We had great service the entire time! They do really appreciate a small tip, so come prepared with lots of small bills. I also really enjoyed the small coffee shop with pastries. The pool is huge and the wait staff is on top of your orders. Very nice! Our room stayed nice and clean, waters, beer, soda's were provided in our mini fridge. WARNING/CONS: Do NOT do the shopping tour. Javier got us to go on the free shopping tour through the resort, stressing that it is very safe and better than taking a taxi yourself. We were told we were going to a large mall and would be able to find gifts for our kids. Not true! We did get to take some great pictures at the CANCUN sign by the beach, then they take you to a tequila tasting/jewelry store (total tourist trap, very expensive tequila, the one we wanted to purchase was $180 USD and they wouldn't come down on price), then they take you to a Mexican restaurant for tacos attached to a store (they were good but $15/plate, only tourists there too, and the shop was expensive too; $60 for a straw hat), that is the last stop on the tour. We did not get to visit any local shops. We ended up buying gifts for our kids at the airport. If you would prefer a tour guide instead of getting a taxi yourself I would highly recommend Rey with USA Transfers. They provided our transport to and from the airport. He lived in the US for 20+ years and was wonderful. The men must wear pants to many of the restaurants for dinner. Also TEEK type shoes are not allowed. I do feel this is very unfair as women are able to wear shorts, sleeveless, jumpers, flip flops, etc... (dresses are not required) also you are allowed to wear a ball cap. The employees are uncomfortable enforcing this, but must do so to keep their jobs. Also, men can not wear sleeveless shirts in the buffet.

Yelp
We are currently staying here in a swim out suite. I am extremely disappointed in our stay. The room maintenance and upkeep is horrible. 2 days in. Pictures- (Note the bug on the wall no one has catches). The filthy wall by the bathtub. This is not what I expect from a Secrets! Garbage in the hallways... Not to mention last night I had to call the desk 3 times to get the roudy group a few doors down to be quiet. Even afterwards they were still carrying on until late hours of the night. They were all over the swim area. Up on our deck. Drinking and smoking (which is not supposed to be allowed). They broke a glass in the pool area. Not sure it's even safe to go in now. When I said something to them about being on our deck, I was called a bitch. This is something you'd expect from a lower star resort. I called to move rooms. We did ask for a room upgrade away from this area, which we would have gladly paid to salvage our vacation. I am soooo disappointed, I cannot tell you enough. This definitely feels like a lower scale vacation and we've stayed in two other resorts in the area where we have been happier. Forgot to mention the outrageous prices in the gift shop. To give you an idea.. $109 for a YETI cup ($30 on Amazon but doesn't have their logo). $8.12 for a Kind granola bar...Yep $8.12 for a Kind bar I just paid $1 for at Safeway! Sent from my iPhone

Yelp
Great adult only resort. Beautiful grounds, nice rooms, great food, excellent service. Amazingly clean and the resort takes extra precautions to be COVID safe. Entire staff wears masks, lots of hand sanitizer, and a COVID test 2 days before departure. Oceana has an amazing breakfast But all the restaurants are good. The hibachi grill was excellent. The beaches are beautiful and the pools are slightly heated to the perfect temperature. Drinks are fabulous. We're are thoroughly enjoying our visit.

Yelp
I truly have no complaints about this resort. We had a beautiful swim out room, great food, great service... we loved it so much that we became members of their Unlimited Vacation Club (like a timeshare but it's not). I suppose my only complaint is they stated the presentation would be 90 min and because my husband and I are both in sales it was 4 hours! We did get a 90 min couples massage, free bottle of wine along with multiple 7 day trips and other shorter trips included. Aside from this it was fantastic and we are excited about our next trip coming up soon!

Yelp
Just got home from 4 nights at this wonderful resort! We were welcomed immediately as if they were waiting for our arrival all day. Issued damp hand towels to fresh up with. Luggage taken and we were swept away, away from the real world. Secrets truly is an experience like no other. You can experience many perk of Mexico without ever leaving the hotel. They bring the food, entertainment, shopping, and excursions all together. We were whisked away to a comfortable and speedy golf cart and instructed on how to call one anytime we needed a ride. THANKS JORDAN! He was a great member of the transport team. We were taken on a very brief tour, pointing out different locations, restaurants, the gardens, on the way to check in. We were immediately taken aback by the main pool area, absolutely beautiful, with an ocean view. After being escorted to the preferred club we started the check in/ pay process. Now I know I may not look like I speak Spanish but muttering that my room is occupied and speaking vulgar slang to your co-worker to have him go check may not be the best way to behave in a VIP setting... I understood all of it and it definitely put me a bit on edge, especially because I had already spent ten days working my ass off across the yucatan and I was finally able to relax. While we sat there waiting for confirmation... several loud drunk people came in to pick at the snacks and reload on beverages, that's when it dawned on us that this is the single most expensive way to "do mexico" and that this is going to be a resort full of drunk Americans. But we had done several trips to Mexico "on a budget" and this time we wanted to go big. So as a preferred member I truly felt like I got the experience and service that I paid for, the food was hit or miss and the drinks were always flowing. One thing that we took a hit on was that my husband does not drink alcohol at all, so that was something we knew we were eating the cost on. I didn't expect too much on the food but the seafood restaurant at Secrets with the ocean view did not disappoint. We were a little annoyed with the fact that you could not schedule reservations for restaurants, there were two nights that we had to wait over 40 minutes to eat at a popular restaurant. Pro-ITS ADULTS ONLY! Con- Adults can still bring their 16-18 something punk ass kids Pro- You can order room service anytime, for every meal. The salmon was great

Yelp
We just got back from a great vacation. Staying at the Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf Resort with ocean view. We also upgraded to The Preferred Club and it was well worth it. Probably the most memorable time was the dinner at the Oceana restaurant celebrating our anniversary. Our waiterJaime was attentive and helpful. My wife is vegetarian and he made recommendations that were on point. The food was outstanding all week. We loved going there for breakfast too. Thank you Chef Juan. Finally we want to thank the manager Fernando who oversaw the restaurant and was always making sure we were taken care of. Thank you Team Oceana

Yelp
Yelp 100 Challenge 2018 - #78 What an amazing all inclusive adults only resort! My husband I had our wedding ceremony here and it was amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better place to share such and amazing memory. Upon arriving at the airport, we were greet with AM Resort staff who escorted us to our resort. At the resort we were escorted to check in at the preferred club lounge. I highly recommend the preferred club because you get access to a special lounge with drinks and food all throughout the day as well as a beautiful room. The resort is so huge that you need a gold cart to get from the entrance to your room. They offer a ton of different restaurants to dine at as well as 24 hour room service. There is a club on the property, a movie theatre, a gym, a spa, and non motorized activities. This resort is amazing and the beach is breathtaking. It is an amazing romantic getaway. There is also family resort next door that you have access to. They have similar restaurants, a waterslide and a lazy river.

Yelp
We travelled from December 28-January 1. We were a little nervous about travel during COVID but we are sure happy that we did. The resort can only fill to about 60% capacity meaning we never had to scurry for a spot to lounge and catch the sun. We opted for the Preferred club which gave us access to Oceana for breakfast, access to the Preferred club lounge which offered some upgraded liquors, access to the beach cabanas (first come first served) and access to the Bali beds by the pool. We made use of each of these perks and felt is was worth the small difference in room rate. We also enjoyed our jetted tub on the balcony every evening overlooking the ocean. The service and staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We had one poolside server one day she called herself Suzy and she was superb!!!! Not a moment with an empty glass!! They took COVID seriously and had hand sanitizer everywhere, took your temp for the restaurants and required masks when entering buildings. I absolutely loved having more space as well The housekeeping staff was amazing, we had turndown service without even requesting it!! What a delight. The room was always clean and tidy. The food was really good! Our only disappointment was that we didn't get to eat at the Italian spot, completely our fault poor planning. We were there for New Years and wanted Italian for New Years but, had we looked ahead of time we would have know, there was a set menu for New Years and every restaurant was serving the same menu. An adventurous menu that was as well!!! We enjoyed our time so much I immediately began researching which Secrets to visit next!!!!!

Yelp
Thank you to the Secrets Playa Mujeres staff for helping to make this week-long vacation for my boyfriend and me memorable and fun! Facilities- This resort is only a few years old. The decor is suitable, think 2000s-style spa aesthetic with the dark wood and white walls. Personally, I'd think a luxury resort would have been built and designed with more modern decor, but that might be the south Floridian in me critiquing. The resort itself is very clean. This is the first resort I have stayed where they offer room service twice a day instead of once. Love it! After tracking sand from the beach and accumulating shot glass after glass, you'll want the midday maid service. Room- Unfortunately, the first day shocked my boyfriend and I both. We paid for an ocean view and got a room with a view of palms and trees blocking everything. To make it worse, we are convinced our first room contained mold. There was evidence of this as we first walked into the room- the A/C was on full blast, yet it was muggy and there was condensation on the mirror...also an odor in our small entry hallway. After complaining to the front desk, they switched us to a true ocean view room that night. Much better but the first experience reflects on my overall rating. The rooms come with a shower room, big enough to fit two people and a hot tub with jets that can fit two as well. I will say I am impressed that hot water is an abundance at this resort. Food- If this section can get five stars alone, it would. From the flavors to the presentation to the portion sizes- we were both very happy. ~Bordeaux: The steak is the best thing on the menu- we actually preferred the French restaurant at the neighboring Dreams resort much better. If you sit outside, often there will be a small jazz band or a violin player on the Himitsu patio you can see and hear clearly. ~Market Cafe: One of the healthiest buffets I have seen at any resort. If you're vegan or maybe just need a little detox from all the partying, grab some tuna tataki and a kale salad here! ~Oceana & Portofino: Didn't try as we heard from every couple that the food was bland. ~Himitsu: Omg, omg. I wish we had this restaurant at home. This is just one of the tastiest Asian eateries we have been to and easily the best restaurant in the resort. ~Hang around Barefoot Grill around lunchtime- one day they will have strictly seafood- grilled octopus, sauteed prawns, grilled salmon, shucked oyster, and mussels. One day they will grill hotdogs and hamburgers. One day they will serve gin and coconut juice in a coconut. Yum. It varies so just keep visiting every day as it changes frequently. If you are staying here make it a point to go to the Fiesta (typically on Sunday) and the BBQ (inquire the day at the front desk). These dinners are outside and included in your stay. You'll get to taste many different types of food. The Fiesta bar had a taco station, a chicken station, a tequila station, a dude with a tequila cart, a dude making paella, and so many other things I forgot to mention! This is also a great way to view free entertainment and meet other vacationers. Drinks- Ketel One is included so I was a happy girl! I would say that the liquors are mid-shelf. If you are a beer and wine drink, you're covered all the way around. If you just like pretty, fruity alcoholic mixed drinks- girl (or dude) this is the place for you! Bahama Mama and The Superman are super popular and live up to the hype. Also, if you want to make your trip just a little more comfy, get a stack of dollar bills. Yes, the place is all-inclusive, but those dollar-tip-per-drink get you lightspeed service and often the staff will cue you in on little tips and tricks to make your experience even better. Entertainment & Resort Culture- We stayed here for a week and frowned when we had to leave the resort. There are many classes and activities to do for every type of vacationer. You can wake up and do yoga- or go rifle shooting. Take a ride around the property on bikes or take Zumba at the pool with your fellow early AM drunks (which I highly recommend and you'll see that people-watching here is very entertaining). The entertainment staff works very hard to keep the guests engaged in whatever is going on. We took a ceviche class, sushi rolling class, pole dancing class, went to a rock show, saw a Mariachi band, went to a Mayan ceremony, saw a rodeo performer, saw fire performers...and many other things. The entertainment staff has great English and are so personable. Chat it up with them and they will tell you after so many other things going on in the resort you may be unaware of. As far a resort culture goes, my boyfriend and I met so many other fun couples! An extrovert's happy place. Thank you again Secrets for the memories! We'd love to come back

Yelp
To start we just got back from secrets in Cancun - Isla de mujeres , ( 7 day vacation) Day 1-7 mosquitos bit us like crazy at check in which took about 30 minutes , with no one from staff to offer any spray to lessen the agony. Place was very secluded and away from civilization ( which is a 2 way sword) good for silence but crazy for pricing ( sunscreen lotion we averaging $28 ) cheaper at Walmart in CA. Taxi were super expensive - everyone from staff telling you that the employees don't make too much $$$ and tips are appreciated . So why did I pay $4k for my trip so I can leave tips ? It's a resort highway Robbery and they support ripping us off " the tourist" . Food was horrific for a 5 diamond resort - sushi was the worst - bouncing rice - see video. Went into town spending $80 but it was the best investment we did - 5 of us ate at a restaurant and really well - for 450 pesos which is close to $23 dollars The Italian restaurant pasta did not have marinara sauce .( insane ). Fettuccini was the worst - over cooked and with butter . The Brazilian restaurants was the only one that was decent . But not great. OceanA was great for lunch. Pool activities were the same day to day , if you don't book a trip you will die of boredom. "Chichenitza" was the best . Also the massages were great, but 100% more expensive than the US, $199 per massage per person is ridiculous . My previous vacation to Puerto Vallarta massages were $40 per person and were as good or better. This resort try to isolate the tourist so you can buy and tip from them and no one else . REALLY SAD - MY GIRL FRIEND and I - vouched to never again do what we did. The only plus to this trip was the house Keeping and that's it. Left her $50 tip cause she was great.

Yelp
Foods not good, and the place is run down and the restaurants are a joke if you have a big party and want to set together you have to buy a bottle of wine. Our hall flooded two times, the ceiling was falling in the hallway the steps were broken off . My husband just had knee surgery 5 weeks ago and I asked if he needed a wheelchair at any point could we get one and they said it's an extra charge. Don't ask for a straw it's like you're asking for their first born. Swim out rooms are very small and smell like a turtle tank not worth it. Room service takes forever.

Yelp
The best part of Secrets, is the easy access to Dreams. You get to take advantage of their restaurants without a thirty minute transfer. Less than 5 minutes walk. The rooms are very comfortable. I would highly recommend a room with private pool.

Yelp
Recently enjoyed a wonderful vacation with my girlfriend at the Secrets Playa Mujeres. We loved the hotel and the service. You have the option for more or less all top shelf main brand alcohols (Don Julio, Gray Goose, Black Label, Etc). Some of the restaurants were better than the others. Portofino was for sure my top favorite restaurant and Himitsu was for sure least favorite (both food and service at Himitsu was terrible). Market Cafe is a good quality buffet available, only downside is they close by 4 PM. One thing to avoid while here is the sales pitch they will throw your way to get you to sign up for their millionaire's club membership. It was a total waste of our day spent with pushy arrogant salesmen. I really wish I had avoided that.

Yelp
My husband and I just spent 5 days here for our honeymoon! It was fantastic. We got special treats sent to our room and all the staff was very accommodating. Spent most the trip at the pool bar and the beach bar. Oscar, Emilio, Alonso... all gave us amazing service I felt like we were friends by the end of the trip! & if you have never had a carajillo-- get one! Every morning we would have this amazing drink with breakfast! Fantastic golf as well!

Yelp
This is a sister hotel to Dreams Playa Mujeres. Secrets is an adults only resort. This resort is beautiful. The resort is about 35 minutes from Cancun International Airport (CUN), 15 minutes from Cancun city and located right by a marina. The food is great, the pool views are breathtaking.
