My husband I recently celebrated our anniversary at this resort and we could not have picked a better place. The staff was extremely accommodating and attentive to all our needs. The grounds were immaculate and very clean. Our room was decorated for our anniversary upon our arrival (so thoughtful) with champagne and roses. However, most of Patricia Vasquez was particularly helpful with any and all request we had. She was authentically nice, concise, considerate and very polite and positive. We will definitely return to this resort to relive the experience and especially to visit with Patricia again!

We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Secrets Cabos and I honestly can’t say enough good things about our stay! The staff were kind, friendly, and genuinely attentive. They made us feel like VIPs without even trying.||The resort is stunning — clean, spacious rooms with beautiful ocean views and a private balcony. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows are the fluffiest I ever felt. I looked forward to a peaceful night sleep each night. ||The food was absolutely delicious with plenty of variety. We enjoyed each restaurant. Not only was the food great, but the aesthetics were to be admired. ||I would only recommend one change and that is the reservation process for the Hibachi restaurant. It is a manual process that you have to physically stand in a line to reserve. With today's technology, I am certain there is a better, more efficient way. ||This trip was everything I hoped it would be and more. Secrets knows how to deliver an unforgettable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I came here to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. This was our first time to Los Cabos, but second time at a Sectets resort. The exterior of the hotel is beautiful as well as the landscaping. It’s even more beautiful at night. We arrived before check in, so we went to grab lunch in the market cafe. It was disgusting. I walked around and grabbed pasta salad and a roll as the food looked very unappetizing. When we got to our room I felt the interiors of the room was very outdated, I feel like some major renovations should be done to the rooms. Pools were nice but I heard lots of guests having to get up early to put towels out to reserve a chair. I went to beach and had no problem getting a chair, but if you are an ocean swimmer this is not your resort. The beach bar was very cool with the swings. Now onto why this property gets 2 stars….the food!! Best food and service we had was at Oceana for breakfast. You could tell orange juice was freshly squeezed. Only other place I can say was good was el patio. The tacos were good. Another strike was they never refilled our mini bar w water cokes snacks and alcohol. I called them to do it once and just stopped because it was too annoying. And you always had to call to have ice brought to your room. It’s always just easier to go get you own ice when you stay at a hotel. This hotel is off the beaten path so it’s about 45-60 minutes away from Los Cabos, so when you book excursions keep in mind that it’s going to be a full day event even if it says 4 hour excursion. Now one day we did the utv adventure and that was 1 hour and 15 minutes away. We were fortunate that the hotel was not at full capacity because I feel like requests and food would take a heck of a lot longer with more people. We can say we have been to Cabo, but we will not be back.

I absolutely loved my stay here. The rooms were large and comfortable. We appreciated the enclosed toilet and separate shower and tub. The staff were beyond friendly and accommodating. The ceviche is worth the trip alone! We enjoyed the hike and bike excursions as well as lounging by the beach and pool. We enjoyed all of the restaurants and felt there were enough choices to never be bored by the food. We would definitely visit again!

I had an excellent week at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos. The room was clean and the AC worked well. The way the rooms are designed we didn’t hear any noise from the corridors or even the one neighbor directly across from us. The food was delicious and we ate at all of the restaurants. All of the restaurants were open nightly. Try to have dinner at Oceana at sunset-amazing! We did have an electrical storm one of the mornings and the staff scurried to get large mats put down on the potentially slippery walkways and to hand out umbrellas. It really rained hard! All of the staff were friendly and helpful and a special shout out to Fernando of the E Team. It’s a large resort with lots to do if you wish. We loved our stay and would definitely return.

Really awesome time and nice place. As advertised and worthwhile visit.||Best part about the trip is the staff.||Sergio welcomed us and was an amazing guide to all that the resort had to offer and shared local recommendations. He made this trip for us and was just such a friendly individual who helped us without any hesitation and was personable. ||Tyler up front at the valet was always friendly and welcoming ||And then Fernando down at the swing bar, best bartender on the resort. Always happy to see you and was always set a fun atmosphere getting your drinks filled without requests and shots a plenty!

My wife and I came for our honeymoon. We had a junior suite with a swim out pool. The entire trip was so amazing and I’d have to attribute that to the staff. They were so kind, hilarious, and accommodating. Any time we mentioned it was our honeymoon, they’d do something special for us from the bartenders to the hibachi chef etc. They were so helpful and sweet at every single point, it was truly amazing. The entertainment team, Ivan, Delmar, Miguel all so fun and I highly recommend taking advantage of the included activities. We will definitely be back!! Bring cash to tip the staff because they more than deserve it!

My husband and I have been together for 25 years and have never had a more amazing 7 days. The service was beyond excellent, as was the food and the room. What we could not get over was the view! The entertainment was perfect as well. We wanted a quiet, calm 7 days with some fun mixed in and that was exactly what we got times 10! We booked through Costco travel, which we would also recommend. It was amazing!

Yelp
A large group of us stayed here to celebrate a 30th birthday, and we had a blast! Decent variety of restaurants and activities, and friendly staff. For amenities we only really utilized the pool and gym, but they also had pickleball courts, archery lessons, and other activities! Although I will say the pickleball courts were empty because they were out in the blazing sun which we couldn't stand to be in for more than a few seconds. The pool was large with a swim up bar, and the gym was small but with all the essentials for a basic workout. I do wish it was colder in the gym though. Rooms were large with 2 separate sinks. I appreciated how there was a little service window so that room service could drop off food without you having to get up to answer the door right away. I only wish the AC was stronger. We had it set to the lowest limit, but when we had people over I was still sweating and dying. I'm sure the rooms weren't made to have so many people in them though. Overall, we had a great time, and I would be down to stay here again! The biggest downside would be how far it is from downtown, but if you'll only be going out one night, it's not a huge hassle coordinating rides.

Yelp
We decided to stay at Secrets this time around rather than Nobu or our usual spots. We had hopes that Secrets was still the resort we remembered from 3 years ago. The resort itself is a little rundown in comparison to when we first stayed with them. Unfortunately, the room had mold. It was extremely evident in the bathroom and near the bathroom. You could see that the rest of the room was not cared for either. Things were dirty and had a thick film of dust/dirt. The food, wasn't terrible but again, the quality was not as it once was. The cold items at the buffet weren't on ice so that became a problem once people started getting sick after eating it. To be safe, we stayed away from most items. We had a suite with a private swim out which was great however, while I was laying out and swimming, the maintenance team came to clean every single day and walked right over me to do it. Funny now but not funny then. The gym is small but still sufficient so long as it isn't crowded...which it is starting at 6am. The saving grace was the staff. They were incredible and were so sweet. Lionel was such a delight and made our experience so much better. That being said, we would never stay here again. We'd much rather go back to Nobu or Grand Fiesta Americana.

Yelp
I love and appreciate so many things about this resort. First off, they were very welcoming when we arrived. We were given warm washcloths to freshen up and given a nice cold flute of champagne. Much to my delight, no stupid wristbands. Check in was really easy. There is a beautiful relaxing floral scent that is not over powering but it greets you in certain areas, I enjoyed it. I thought our room was very nice, and I was quite happy with the sliding wooden doors if you don't feel like putting on a performance during your shower. The jacuzzi bath tub was so spacious, and a wonderful way to unwind. We enjoyed all of the restaurants, Japanese, Mexican, and Italian were all very good. We mostly went to the buffet for breakfast, there was always plenty of seating and the food was average. The pool for members was nice, and so was the hot tub. It was really quiet though, so we left and went to the noisy pool. Most guests were 40 and above, everyone was friendly, and the iguanas weren't even judging us. The personal pizzas at lunchtime were absolutely delicious! Two of my friends went golfing and said it was such a good time. Lots of breaks, beers, snacks, with a great view it all made for the perfect golf game. I enjoyed the Yoga, and water aerobics (thank you, Axel). Our bed was very comfy, and it was fun having a private pool connected to our room. The massage and facial that I had at the spa were fine but not really spectacular. The sewer system must have issues in there, because it smells funky, ok it smells disgusting. The receptionist and entire staff were very polite and attentive. I found the deck looking out to beach, the sound of waves crashing, much of the decor, and the long hallways to be very beautiful. I almost forgot to mention that the temperature in every pool even the one outside of my bedroom was just perfect. I don't know if you've ever stayed at a resort where the pools were too cold, but it really ruins the moment, especially if it happens to rain. Here is what I didn't like. The guys driving the golf carts, come at guests full speed expecting us to jump out of the way, it's not cute or funny. It's a liability. The other thing is that we had no warning (as this was our first time staying here) our room/view/private pool, were not so private because of the wedding receptions held Just steps from our sliding door. We love a good party, but this was blaring music, loud speeches, and we felt like wedding crashers. Other than that we found Secrets to be romantic and relaxing.,With the exception of the younger guys on golf carts, the staff were all incredibly friendly and fun to interact with. Excellent service, very good food, easy to navigate, fitness Activities and classes made me feel so much better about the booze and food! At one point my room key stopped working, I flagged down a staff member and he was so nice about it. It truly was a wonderful vacation. Thank You, Secrets. Summary : Great for the 40 and above club Golf, Spa, Fitness, Pools, Food, Booze, Beach, and relaxation just steps away Really exceptional service Pretty room Watch out for golf carts! Channel 81 is the sound of rain and gentle storms, channel 80 is the naughty channel (you're welcome)

Yelp
We stayed here for the Christmas holidays. We had an amazing time. Our room was ocean front and we really enjoyed it. Every day we went to sleep by the sound of the waves and were awoken by the sunrise. We could see whales from our room. There were several restaurants in the property, the food was pretty good. Service was outstanding. I fully recommend this all-inclusive resort in Cabo San Jose.

Yelp
Our group of 29 people stayed at Secrets Puertos Los Cabos to celebrate a friend's birthday and I would say we had a pleasant time there at the adults only resort. The Hyatt All Inclusive app made it pretty easy to find everything around the resort. The app also had menus for room service and restaurants. I suggest downloading this before going in.  Location: It was about a 30 minute drive from the airport which was not bad. However, if you know you'll be going to downtown a lot, just consider that it was a 40 minute drive from here. Our friends booked through Costco and were able to use the same services to take us to/from our hotel. It was about a 20 minute drive to the marina. The check in process went pretty smoothly. We arrived at 1pm for a 3pm check in. We were greeted with a refreshing towel and welcome drinks. They stored our bags and the concierge took us to the AC'd lobby area by the Rendezvous bar, where we waited for them to call us to check in. Shout out to Danielle for checking us in smoothly and explaining everything! Thankfully there was a room already available for us.  Rooms: It was nice that I got upgraded from a Junior Suite Garden View to Ocean View. Since we were on the second floor, we could mostly see the garden in front of us with the ocean far back. The rooms were large. The bathroom had his and hers sinks, big tub, walk in shower with waterfall and regular shower heads, separate toilet room with a sliding door, and many toiletries. The shower had a glass window that could be covered by a sliding door but from the outside of it-- so the person in the bedroom can open it whenever just a heads up! The bed was pretty comfortable. Mini fridge was stocked with water bottles, beers, and sodas. We utilized room service a lot during our short stay. I loved that there was a cubicle in each room where they can just leave the trays without anyone having to go inside the room.  Food: Like I mentioned, we used room service the most. You can see the menu on the app but you'll have to call it in. The longest we waited for food was about an hour. Overall, the food was alright but I know you can't expect much in an all inclusive. -Himitsu: My friends and I ate at the Hibachi grill the first night. Shoutout to Charlie and Manny for a memorable time and making the experience so fun!! They were interactive and kept the mood light and fun. The hibachi grill required reservations.  -Market Cafe: I went once for lunch and once for breakfast. For lunch time, I liked how they had a panini station, pasta station, and taco station. Dessert was my favorite as they had macarons and fresh sweets on a cart in the middle of the cafe. For breakfast, they had an omelette and crepe station.  -Seaside Grill: perfect food for when you're already pretty drunk from the bar. You have to have a shirt on to dine inside. Beach area: At the end of the resort, there's a bar by the beach (called Barracuda) under shade and some tables and chairs. There also seemed to have some pool chairs available for guests but we didn't get to use it much. The beach had a black flag. Cabo waters are not for swimming so be careful! Pool: There was one large pool where they had activities like volleyball. There's a swim up bar a the end with some chairs called Manatees Bar. We opted to get a cabana by the infinity pool. Shout out to Fernanda for helping us reserve! Our server was Salomon. I understand that we had a big group but we really did try to keep our orders at a minimum and organized. But when we tried to order both food and drinks, he made it kind of a big deal that we were ordering both. So we ordered with him only twice and decided to just order from the bar ourselves. Rendezvous bar: Our group was there A LOT. I wanna give a big shoutout to Manuel for always being there and serving us always with a big smile. He made our experiences there very memorable!  Gym: A handful of cardio machines, dumbbells, weighted barbells, and a handful of weight machines. It was pretty decently sized but the AC could've been colder. Overall: We had a memorable time here and besides the far distance to downtown, I would consider staying here again!

Yelp
I have been to this resort three times in the last 2 years. My most recent visit was this month. Every single time I am beyond impressed! The staff and service is top notch and the views and private feeling beach are unmatched. Having allergies, the resort accommodates and even let me participate in hibachi by cooking all the food with gluten free soy sauce to avoid cross contamination. I highly recommend this resort for couples or adults wanting a relaxing and laid back getaway. Secrets Puerto Los Cabos provides a calm atmosphere that is mostly an older crowd (not many people under 25). Breathless, the property's sister brand, is better for people wanting a resort with a nightlife focus.

Yelp
If you're thinking about coming here, just do it! What an amazing experience it was for our honeymoon! They take top notch care of you here. Plenty of activities to do throughout the resort! The food here is really good too! I recommend trying all the restaurants!

Yelp
I go to all inclusive resorts at least once a year if not twice. I am a sandals person so let me preface with that. After coming to this resort I realized why once again I am a sandals person and not a secrets person. When I book my trip with sandals my transfers are automatically figured out by sandals once they know my airfare and I don't have to try and book a transfer with a totally different Company. The food here is absolutely terrible. I ordered salmon and it came out basically flopping on my plate so they brought me a new one and it was the same. My friend ordered eggs over easy and they came so runny she didn't eat. The best thing I ate all week was churros. They tried to give us $20 massages and when I asked what the catch was they said a 4 hour time share presentation . Yeah no thank you ! The best thing and probably the only saving grace is the pool. This pool is beautiful and Ricardo the bartender is quick and makes really good drinks at the pool bar so tip him well if you come. At sandals all tips are included and here it felt like everyone wanted or expected a tip.

Yelp
I just came back from a long weekend stay for my birthday/bacherlorette party and I wish I could go back for another weekend! Secrets is much closer to the airport than the main strip near the marina that seems to draw the tourist crowd. This means that it is much quieter which is exactly what I was looking for. First impressions were that the property was pretty secure as there were two gates we had to pass through with a check in at each. The property is beautiful and the grounds are impeccably maintained and the staff was always pleasant. There are also two resident cats that roam the property! I arrived around 1pm and the room was not ready yet but I was able to go to the lunch buffet and when I returned to the check in area at 3pm, the room was ready. The property is large but not difficult to navigate and there are always staff in the golf carts that can drive you to your room. The room itself was very nice, a great view of the golf course and the water and roomy enough for two people. I appreciated the tthere were two sinks as my sister and I were sharing the room. There was also a giant jet bathtub but we did not utilize it during our stay. Housekeeping serviced our room each day and they offered nightly turn down service although we did not utilize that portion. We did not have the best experience for the restaurants at a previous all inclusive resort in Cabo but Secrets did not disappoint. The breakfast buffet was smaller than what I have seen before but the omelet station was great and there were plenty of food options. I did not see an oatmeal station which is typical for a breakfast buffet. We were able to get into the Teppanyaki station where Manny and Carlos/"Charlie" were our waitstaff and chef and they were amazing and so funny! You have to put in your name the same day you want to dine - they start taking reservations at 4pm but I would recommend to get in line around 3:30pm. We got in line around 3:45pm and there were several parties before us and our reservation time was for 9pm. The other dinner restaurants were good. My favorite was Oceana, the seafood restaurant. The wait time for this restaurant was the longest of all the restaurants (arrived at 7pm for 2 people and waited an hour). Since our stay wasn't too long, we mostly got apps at each restaurant and would restaurant hop nightly. The Seaside Grill had my favorite snack - the Aguachile Shrimps were AMAZING. I got them nearly everyday. Every restaurant has beautiful views and great food so you can't go wrong at any of them. There was also a low key nightclub with a pool table. Additionally, there was a wine cellar which looked very cool! The pool is beautiful and the servers are attentive and super helpful. I do wish there was more than one pool as the infinity pool by Oceana is reserved for club members only. It is difficult to find pool chairs if you arrive after 10:30am. We had a massage at the Spa and my masseuse Ana was fantastic! The relaxing/waiting area was on the smaller side but they had a fairly large courtyard for the hydrotherapy including a steam room and sauna. This resort is amazing and I would recommend it if you are looking for a romantic trip, and relaxing getaway, or just a vacation.

Yelp
So my wife booked this place. Very nice all inclusive resort. My wife got me the upgrade (preferred club) since I was celebrating my 50th birthday. Let's start with the room. The room was super nice with my Own swim out pool. This pool was way better than the preferred pool because my pool was a lot cooler. I had a beautiful shower, and jacuzzi tub. Plus, two sinks. Amazing. The mini bar consisted of Dos Equis mini beers, soft drinks, water and three mini bottles of tequila, Jack Daniel's and Bacardi rum. We had our own preferred club area for food and drinks. Super cool. The staff inside the preferred club was numero uno. The food joints here were just ok. Matter of fact I wasn't impressed with their food. One place that really sucked was their hibachi restaurant. One word to describe, HORRIBLE! So a couple of thumbs downs, their mini bar with snacks. Two days in a row, I was given an open Pringle can. Weird. The food restaurants were not that good. It works for food but that's it. In the end, was this a good, stay? You betcha. They definitely need to improve their food. Did I have fun? You betcha. Would I come back? I would try a different place to see what another place has to offer.

Yelp
Had a great stay here at Secrets during the winter break! Love the decor of this place. The Spanish style coupled with the plants makes it beautiful. It was especially nice with all of the Christmas decorations. Service is excellent everywhere. The employees are very helpful, welcoming, and talkative. Sometimes a bit slow but only when it's really busy. All of the restaurants serve good food. Some plates better than others but has something to offer for everyone. Bars are usually quick to serve drinks. The cocktails never felt stiff but tasted great! If you really want to get lit, try drinking a beer with your drink. The bar by the beach is especially nice. Some things I didn't like were the fact that guests reserve their spot by the pool early and then leave without using the chairs for hours. It was really annoying. Also things slow down a lot during the night time. I think most people leave the hotel to party elsewhere. Overall a great stay and would recommend it!

Yelp
Secrets is located in Los Cabo's about 20 minutes from the Los Cabo's airport. It's an adult only all inclusive and absolutely Beautiful. If you have the opportunity to book a swim up room I recommend it by all means because the swim up room is beautiful! The resort is quiet and expansive. It caters to those adults that want a private exclusive experience to those that want a more lively experience with a night club nightly at the sports bar. The pool is also lively with live music or Djs along with fun water activities like volleyball, water robics, water cycling etc. The food is 5 star and no reservations required except for the himatsu restaurant which is hibachi style. I thought the Mexican restaurant the Patio had amazing enchiladas. Portofino had excellent lasagna. Oceana was the most romantic restaurant and had a beautiful view of the pool and ocean at golden hour. Overall, I was very pleased with the food offerings and the 24 hour room service was nice to have at our swim up deck. Service was also 5 star from warm service by Christian at Oceana. He was hilarious and had great recommendations. Christian at the grill was also great! However, Rubin who was pool service was exceptional. He made sure we never had an empty glass by the pool and attentively placed food orders. He was also extremely personable and enjoyed having conversations with him. Overall, our stay was five star and will Recommend to all our friends and family.

Yelp
This place was very peaceful. Loved our time here. I only removed one star because upon arrival they sent our luggage to the wrong room (thank God no one went through our stuff), then my husband requested dessert and with champagne flutes to be there upon arrival for my birthday and it wasn't done, our refrigerator drinks were warm because the fridge was left unplugged, a light fixture was hanging in bathroom and my husband fixed it. Later one of the beers served from the tap at the swim up bar was BAD and I mean BAD! It smelled like when a sink is backed up. I thought I was going crazy and tasted it and almost threw up. My husband smelled it and told me to take it back, the tap needs to be cleaned. I informed the bartender and he agreed it was bad. Needless to say he drained everything and cleaned it. All I cared about was not getting sick and thankfully I didn't. We also had the swim up suite garden view and our room was at the corner where a balcony near the main part of the resort faces the rooms and guests/employees can literally look in our room (see photo attached for reference). It would help if they put some plants on that side to block us. Last they did not tell us about any gardening being done and the woman watering/trimming the plants literally walked along our "private" swim out patio while my husband was changing in the room and I was in the water. I understand she has a job to do, the plants need care, I just wish they told us that on certain days gardening needs to be done so we were prepared and not caught off guard. We did share our feedback with the man that checked us out. However, it didn't seem to matter much to him. Therefore we decided it would be best to write a review. Nevertheless, I am still giving them four stars because it was still a lovely stay and other wonderful staff members made it unforgettable.

Yelp
10 day stay with hubby and our besties. Overall it was a great visit. Let's break it down. Activities: Lots of things going on. Archery. Pool or grass volleyball.Painting. Pilates. Yoga. Crazy/Lazy game. Pickleball. Tequila tasting. Cooking classes and more. They don't do a great job listing the description. Bike tour is listed as a 1 hr tour and even though it was AMAZING, it is not a leisure excursion. It is a two hour tour. First 30 min riding downhill to La Playita (a small beach they should have skipped) then another 15 min to an amazing beach. You got to hang out there 30 or so minutes but they failed to tell you to bring a bathing suit and towel. It's the trek back uphill that is a doozy if you are not athletic. It's a tough ride back up. City tour- Lovely two hour tour. They didn't say it was $25 per person until you met up. They said it was for transportation but it's a small taxi ride 10 min away. $10 per person I can see. It was great. Visited a chocolate place and tequila tasting and you got to go on your own a bit. Tequila Tasting by David was great. We sampled 4 tequilas. There was a huge family there and they just talked loud during the presentation. I felt bad for David. Lazy game-You'll miss it if you are not looking for it. One of the entertainment people asks a random question. If you get it right you win a prize. We won once. So, lots of things to do but beware of underlying costs. Entertainment team was AMAZING!! Huge shout out to Axel and Vany. Alejandra and Andrea were also great. In general, ALL staff from custodial to servers are phenomenal. Please tip them generously. Food. It's all inclusive so the food is always expected mediocre at best. El Patio-THE best restaurant. Carlos was our fav server! Order apps and share! Highly recommend the birria tacos, guac, gorditas, tortilla soup, churros and lava cake. Portofino. Okayish Italian. Fettuccine and chick parm were good. Himitsu. We don't do hibachi but get in line at 4pm if you want reservations for that. We sat a regular table-no reservations needed. Mongolian beef and fried rice were good as well as some sushi rolls. Oceana. Surf and Turf was fine. Seaside grill. Good poke bowl but other foods were inconsistent. Also breakfast is served there for Preferred members and recommended. Coco cafe. Open 24 hours. Coffee. Pastries. Sandwiches. Teas. Ice cream. Market Cafe. Buffet. Breakfast lunch and dinner. Saturdays they display 3 regional posoles. Jalisco was my fav. POOLS- The larger pool has a swim up bar, volleyball, etc. Some shade here and there. Music played at times but many times just quiet. They say not to bring speakers but people brought them. The preferred members pool is the best but zero shade. We hung out there mostly. We could have sued some soft background music. Pool servers Juan, Sergei, Jorge and Sonya are wonderful. Rooms. We had a king ocean view. No complaints except the fan could be quite noisy. Maids were great. You need to call for fridge refilling. Alcohol. It's all inclusive which means you can drink all day and not feel much of a buzz but that's wasn't the focus of our trip. You can ask for a double but they know what they are doing in this industry. Live music. Whether at the pool, Birdcage Bar, etc. all their live music was great. Wonderful performers. Kudos to Ana! Beach. Like most Cabo hotels, the beach is not accessible. Sure is very dangerous. Most days you cannot even walk the beach. There was one day the stairs were open but a manager said he didn't recommend us to walk but he couldn't stop us. We get it. They are federal beaches and the hotel is not responsible. If you are a Preferred Member you have a separate pool, breakfast restaurant and club (with a bar and snacks all day). Take an Uber to town and explore a little. Highly recommend Tres Gallos for dinner.

Yelp
I stayed here 2 years ago and it was great! But also during Covid times. This time was planning a wedding for my friend. We did it at Secrets. Wedding Planning: Monica was great. She was responsive and the planning and wedding went smoothly. It was a good wedding and good wedding coordinator. As for the resort itself, I feel since it's been bought by Hyatt, I feel it went a little downhill. Starting with the food: the food is super super bland. Like no seasoning on a lot of the things we used to like. The Italian restaurant food was ok, used to be our favorite. Pasta portions are tiny. The veal ossobucco was mostly fat and had a vinyl taste, no salt. Oceana had a good surf and turf, but the filet was either a hit or miss with the seasoning. The prawns were great but needed a pinch of salt. Mexican restaurant food was terrible. No flavor. Better Mexican food in San Diego! The Asado festival was cool. The meats were bland but this time I brought my own salt packets. Good meat grills! We enjoyed that very much. The pool: the water is gross. It's extremely warm and murky. They don't seem to clean it often, the little islands in the pool have moss growing on the stone benches. Our swim out was so much better. IGUANAS: they have like 4 resident iguanas at the pool. Huge ones and baby ones. They were aggressive. Anytime we ordered food they would come and steal them. Like rats. And what's even more DISGUSTING was they would poop in the pool and it wouldn't get cleaned out. Someone tried to scoop out their poop and it literally disintegrated in the pool water. It's disgusting. I was so disgusted when I saw it pooping, all the poop in the pool and the disintegration of the pool and didn't get back in the pool for the rest of my stay. I stuck with my private swim out. Mosquitos: I don't remember getting any mosquitos bites when I came last time. This time they are out of control! Like out of control. I'm surprised they don't spray anything around the resort! Even when in my swim out mosquitos were around and bit me. We had a lot hanging outside our room and got into the room and bit me too. I got over 20 bites! I even put on deet, but these mosquitos were crazy. The festivals on the lawn, watch out for your ankles! Everywhere. They need to spray and control that. Room: even though this was built in 2013, the resort is degrading. It's getting old. Our rooms AC was weak. It didn't initially work and needed a day to get "cool". The thermostat said 66° but the temp in the room never got to that degrees, always like in the 70s. The fan is confusing too, 4 means lowest setting and 1 is highest. They need to redo all their AC condenser. It was around 95° outside when we went. Our room was also super far from the main area. Long walk. You can order a golf cart to come, but sometimes they busy. Also room service for ice was a joke. They say 10 minutes but we had to wait hours for some! Then they would lie and say they brought it. For the price you pay I would expect so much more. I've stayed at cheaper all inclusive and gotten so much more. Super disappointed in this experience at secrets.

Yelp
Went there on a package deal - all inclusive. Lots of stairs (fine for me, but hard on my senior father). Adults only - nice. Three better restaurants to choose from: Ocean (best of all three) Italian (eh ok but nothing fancy) and Japanese (wholly crap who runs that place - service is awful). The pool side restaurants - eh ok but nothing great. Basically - food was blah. They need to get some chefs that actually care about what they serve - but creative and present. Golf - great courses. No shuttle service really? You have to pay for a taxi to get to the pro shop for the course you are playing that goes through the resort - stupid. The spa - this is the reason for three stars, instead of two. Cool outdoor hydro therapy. Massage was pretty good - I had the hot stone and tension relief. Went there a couple hours early to get away from all the noise of the main pool. Great place to relax. Going back - only if I have to.

Yelp
As a frequent all inclusive resort goer I've come to learn the certain tendencies that come with these places. For the most part, there's been plenty of good ones and some so so. As much as I try to focus on the positive, Secrets negatives far outweigh the positives. If what I wrote seems too much, just take my advice and don't go here. Location: about 35-40 from the airport, its secluded location allows for peacefulness and serenity away from the major chain hotels. As with most hotels here, don't expect to swim at the beach as the waters are just too harsh. Food: pretty terrible. All inclusive hotels are never usually spectacular, but this foods terrible. On top of that, most restaurants take forever and ever to make the food. Avoid the hibachi like the plague. It's slow and salty. Most of the food here is salty for some reason. The saving grace at the hotel is Portofino, the Italian restaurant. They deliver food fast, and the quality is actually great. The osobuco and frittata de mare among the standouts. The linguini was soupy, avoid that. Activities: hit and miss. Certain things were fun like casino night or the pool live singing. Or Andrea from the entertainment staff who was so kind and welcoming! But then...there's stuff like the "resident DJ" which doesn't happen til 10:30 and it's mostly a 2000s R&B/Hip Hop hodgepodge music video mix. Service: here is probably the reason I'd want to thrust my review to a 1 star. I booked an ocean view swim out room. The first night @10 pm my AC stopped working causing the room to get humid and stuffy fast. I asked for someone to come by and it was solved. Then at 2 am I woke up sweating and having difficulty breathing because it was so stuffy in my room. The kicker? My whole power was out so there was no phone for me to call. I had to physically walk out at 2 am to the lobby to ask for help. Someone came and after attempts to fix it they moved me at around 2:30 am. The only thing was the room they moved me to was a swim out garden view. So they essentially downgraded my room to which I had to argue with them to get another room not that day, but the following day. Also... no one ever really followed up to offer their condolences or offer anything for the failure of the room and then the downgrade of my room. My final room, had a fan failure where the fan speed was either low or nothing even with a 0-4 setting. I called to have this fixed and no one ever came and the person I called even gave me attitude when I tried to explain this. Overall I think the issue with Secrets is it's an aging hotel that refuses to fix itself. I noticed so many broken things around the resort that seemed to just go unnoticed. While it's got a few good things, its lack of service and a lack of trying to fix issues is why I'll never go back there. Had someone actually cared about my situation and tried to reach out to me then maybe. Avoid avoid this place. Go to the Marquis Los Cabos. It's far better.

Yelp
**Review of Secrets Los Cabos Resort - A Luxurious Adult-Only Retreat** My recent escape to Secrets Los Cabos Resort was nothing short of spectacular! Thanks to the seamless booking experience through Costco Travel, I found myself whisked away to a lavish adult-only paradise, where tranquility and indulgence coexisted in perfect harmony. The resort's spa delivered an extraordinary massage that left me feeling utterly pampered and renewed. The skilled therapists worked their magic, transporting me into a realm of relaxation that I hadn't experienced before. The pool area was a true haven of enjoyment, and the cabanas offered a slice of paradise to unwind and soak up the sun in sheer comfort. With an array of pool activities to choose from, every day was filled with excitement and pleasure. Being an adult-only retreat, Secrets Los Cabos ensured a serene and peaceful atmosphere throughout my stay. The preferred upgrade truly took my experience to new heights, providing a separate check-in area that expedited the process and allowed me to start my vacation stress-free. Moreover, as a preferred guest, I delighted in the privilege of enjoying sit-down breakfast options that added a touch of luxury to my mornings. The facility's cleanliness was commendable, and I was impressed by the attention to detail in maintaining such high standards. The pristine environment contributed to a sense of comfort and relaxation, making my stay even more enjoyable. As a preferred guest, I had the chance to indulge in the resort's cabanas for free, an incredible perk that enhanced my poolside experience. For those seeking a private cabana without the preferred upgrade, they could be booked via email with the concierge for a fee of $65. While the resort's nightlife may not be bustling, the three-night, four-day stay allowed ample time to relish in the daytime offerings. The evenings provided a serene atmosphere, perfect for winding down after a day of enjoyment. In conclusion, Secrets Los Cabos Resort, in partnership with Costco Travel, offers an opulent and exclusive retreat for adults seeking a luxurious getaway. From the unforgettable massage to the indulgent pool activities and cabanas, every aspect of the resort is designed to provide an unparalleled experience. The preferred upgrade enhances the stay with exclusive check-in services and sit-down breakfast options for a lavish touch. With a focus on cleanliness and comfort, the resort ensures a truly pampering stay. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a sophisticated and rejuvenating escape in Los Cabos.

Yelp
While the staff were all great, the food was lackluster. Anything made fresh like a pasta bar or sushi at lunch was good, the rest was really low quality. The rooms were spacious. Not crazy about the barn doors for bathroom, as they were pretty sticky and didn't slide well. but that is a small matter compared to the biggest challenge in that the pool was warm water! It needs to be cooled on such hote summer days. With all the concrete seating areas in the pool the only way there was any open space was in the mail pool which was attached with limited access and used for the exercise classes. Guests allowed to hold seats and not sit in them - and they were so tightly set together that there was zero privacy for even a conversation as the guests were literally sitting against each other in their chairs. There were no accommodations for the hot humid weather with misters, or more effective fans. As a result the discomfort at meal times with mostly outdoor seating and the fly's ruined the ambiance of lunch or dinner. Pool side service (two waiters tried hard) was tough to secure. Entertainment crew were great. Outdoor evening programs on the lawn resulted in a mosquito feeding frenzy...golf cars offered to get back and forth on property - nice touch. Coco cafe, was super, well air conditioned, only one table and a few chairs... Mixed drinks tasted watered down, wine was cheap quality, spirits and mixers were cheap brands, and while many, many people managed to get drunk (mostly on beer and shots) and act really rowdy at the bar and in the pool, it lacked sophistication. The resident iguanas were 'cute' until they swam across the pool - often! I do not want to be in a pool with wildlife, let alone guests who don't leave the swim up bar for many hours! (All made for very gross water). One night while enjoying a swim to get cool (which we couldn't as the water was over 85 degrees) it was about 6:30 pm, and a worker started to add powdered chemicals right near us - we raced to get out of the water! The pool bars close way to early, there are only towels available at one end of a very large area... need I say more? I could go on and on, I think the only way I would consider going back is in a different time of year if I was hosted, otherwise no second time for me or anyone I know. A real shame as this was to be a very special relaxation time for me after a tough year. Bummed...

Yelp
We just returned from a beautiful trip here. Let's talk pros - the location, it's about 20 minutes from the airport, safety is top notch, shoutout to Pablo, Eddie, Sergei & every member of staff at the Preferred Club check in as well as every single member of staff around the resort. The staff are the sweetest and most kindest. It's truly stunning from every single angle. The spa was an amazing experience! They have daily activities to attend, karaoke night was fantastic. Truly just a gorgeous location, bedroom, view.. all of it! Cons - it does smell like sewage often around the place, not all the time but parts of the day for sure. They provide incense sticks in the rooms, I would imagine this is why. The timeshare people, if you're not interested.. let them know from the get go. The coupons are no good! FOOD - oh man. This was my disappointment and the reason this isn't a 5 star review. Other than Market Cafe (fantastic buffet place for all meals) & Himitsu.. the food wasn't that great. Oceana wait time for a very generic menu wasn't good. They have the potential to be SUPERB, that food really could do with improving.

Yelp
Hotel staff - 4.5 stars Overall experience: 2.5 stars due to Unlimited Vacations staff and the pressure of selling the vacation package through Hyatt. Not a timeshare they said, but it is kind of like one so beware when you stay here. Overall, it was a great experience if I discussed the staff, the aesthetics, activities, amenities, food, and beverages. The food at Secrets was delicious, and the spa was spectacular. Seriously, it's the most beautiful spa I've ever seen. We were lucky with the weather. Despite being in the 90s and super humid, we missed the hurricane before our trip and the one after we left. Our room was beautiful, and everything inside the resort was perfect. They have these cool buttons that you can press if you want or don't want your room serviced or to be bothered. We liked that. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurants was above average and pretty delicious. My favorite was their fried octopus. The room service food was mediocre. We really enjoyed the main pool. It was clean and inviting. The temperature got pretty hot though on a 90+ degree day. We should have opted for the swim-up. Thought we might not use it and realized there would have been several times we would have rather chilled by our room in the swim-up pool. Ana, our maid, and Francisco who checked us in were so incredible. Really, all the staff we encountered were just perfect. We upgraded to the preferred section. Like many other reviews, it was a waste of money for us. Maybe if we were older and didn't care for the noise or action of the main pool, it would have been better. But we barely used any of the amenities that came with preferred. You get: - To use the smaller, quieter infinity pool by Oceana restaurant. There are not nearly as many places to sit so it can get full fast and there's zero shade in the pool. - You can have brunch at Oceana from 8 - 11 AM instead of the buffet - There is the preferred members lounge which has its own bar, dining area, and a smaller selection of food that's from the buffet - you can make a reservation a day ahead for the hibachi restaurant but its only one reservation for 2 every hour starting at 6 PM - 10 PM and if you're not there the day before when the preferred lounge opens at 7 AM, the spots will be gone. The bad stuff including racist staff: I think because we upgraded to the preferred: On the other hand, the Unlimited Vacations (bought by Hyatt a year ago) "timeshare" deal at the resort was the worst part of our trip. We were approached right after check-in and offered free spa passes for massages, but they then tried to sell us the Unlimited Vacation packages through Hyatt. We had to sit through a 4+ hour presentation and wasted close to 4 hours of our morning. We had no opportunity to say we weren't interested, and the pressure to buy was intense. They made us feel guilty by talking about commission and bringing up their families. We were promised a 90-minute presentation, but it was almost 4 hours. I've never felt this kind of pressure anywhere, not even during my stay at Hyatt Ziva in Puerto Vallarta. Our sales rep made racist comments about African Americans and how they were hard to sell and they always had bad credit and weren't reliable and cheap. This so took me aback, I didn't exactly know how to act. It made my husband and I very uncomfortable. The sales guy was scummy and always talked about how he's the best at his job, how he's the top performer and can sell anyone. He wouldn't let me have even a minute to ask questions or say we were done and wanted to leave. If we tried to stand up, he would be so aggressive. It was ridiculous. He talked about himself A LOT. Overall, we loved the resort aesthetic and the customer service we experienced from the hotel staff. We will NOT consider staying here again due to the location being about 40 40-minute drive one way to Cabo San Lucas and the only swimmable beach around. Also, because of our terrible experience with Unlmited Vacations. I would give this hotel 4 stars but because of this experience, it would be 2.5.

Yelp
Beautiful location and amazing yoga! This resort is on the smaller side compared to others but the entertainment is great and food was pretty good. It's worth spending a little more to get access to the premier lounge. Access to top shelf alcohol and food throughout the day. Room service was really good as well.

Yelp
My husband and I went with three other couples earlier this month. This was our first all inclusive, and it will be SO hard to beat this resort. The staff alone would be the reason you go back! It's wild to say you create such a realationship with the staff in a short period of time, but the staff is incredible! Captian Karla was incredible from night one at Oceana, Franky was hilarious and entertaining, Fernando made some of the best shots down at the seaside bar, the birdcage bar, they made the best drinks, and even day after day would recognize you and what you drank the day before. Our absolute favorite was Ivan! He was hilarious, entertaining, and always there if you needed anything! Best guy on staff hands down! They are lucky to have him! We saw him helping guests with problems, and then three seconds later entertaining someone else! He was a riot! The views were great, there wasn't a single day there wasn't a wale and her calf swimming by the beach! The Coco Cafe being 24 hours was really awesome, and they had great iced coffee! The Market Cafe had an amazing buffet, all the food was so incredible! We loved the vacation so much! All the staff were so happy to serve you, there was soothing sounds playing throughout the entire resort, the smells were so good, very safe and things to do at night! We booked a private fishing charter and with the fish we caught, took it to the consierge desk and booked a dinner at Portifino's and the chef prepared a beautiful dinner with the fish we caught that morning!

Yelp
Facilities and pool were nice. FOOD WAS HORRIBLE. Honestly spent 3/5 of the days sick and threw up a few times. The staff was great, they were attentive and nice. We told them pretty quickly we were disappointed about the food and they upgraded us to the preferred pool. That pool was the highlight of the trip. The other pool is too hectic and honestly pretty ratchet if that's the right word (women twerking on the bar, drunk people yelling, etc). Yeah so not coming back, Jesus this place needs to fix the food. Probably never doing an all inclusive again.

Rene J.

Yelp
Karla @ Seaside Grill was just amazing she went above and beyond to provide us with an amazing experience providing us with our special request for sashimi and special hot sauce and it was spot on and Emmanuel at Oceana for breakfast was very attentive, look forward to next year.

Yelp
Secrets is an all inclusive resort ... Upon arriving it looks like a basic all inclusive resort , we completed check in ,fairly easy and quickly. Overall this resort is for someone who wants peace & quiet / the property is very small with no beach access. The age range in this hotel was 60years +, only one large pool for all guest , there is an additional pool for preferred members only . If you booked a swim out room then you have a small pool outside your room. Food: (8/10) ....with the exception of the buffet which was absolutely horrible ( buffet/market place 2/10) BREAKFAST : you only have 2choices, buffet or oceanana( but Oceanana is only for prefer members only ) LUNCH: Oceanside grill (poolside restaurant) 9/10 DINNER: Portofinio (Italian restaurant) 8/10 Patio ( Mexican restaurant) 8/10 Himitsu ( hibachi restaurant) 8/10 Oceania ( seafood restaurant) didn't not attend. Beverages: 4/10 There's a coffee shop called coco cafe , they serve basic coffee items and have small pastries/sandwiches/can sodas , coffee was very bitter /acidic (6/10) Pool side bar (1/10) horrible drinks , either didn't taste like anything or it was straight sugar .even if you ask for extra vodka /tequila they were extremely diluted Hotel lobby bar (5/10) better drinks then Pool bar , better liquor found here.( great staff here) Club bar : (3/10) low end alcohol, no drinks tasted good/ took way to long to get drinks... Patio bar :(9/10) only open for dinner 6pm-10pm great fresh drinks that were not made with syrups , personal favorite cucumber jalapeño margarita/tajin rim. Service :5/10 Overall service was okay , lots of miscommunications, if you are fluent in Spanish it will help a lot .POOL bar service is extremely slow ,May take up to 20mins to get your drink . One one bartender working on the bottom of the pool bar. Employee here will not go out of there way to get you something, they will simply say sorry we aren't able to do that or we are out of it . Rooms:7/10 Found a couple of insects in our room , a small lizard in the restroom & a small black worm that fell from the ceiling on the bed . AC Broke down but they came to fit it fairly quickly...P.S THE AC WONT work if you crack the window or Door open . Rooms come with a mini refrigerator that is stocked with juice /soda /water /beer. Nespresso machine in the room. Slippers /robes &iron are located in the closet, there's shampoo/condition/body wash /hair dryer/ shower caps /sunblock /hand sanitizer/sewing kit located in the restroom . Entertainment: 1/10 During the day there is very little to no entertainment.... There is no music at the pool !! Once a week they have water aerobic like class in the pool for about 30-60mins . They have a life size chest board near the pool. They offer for 1 hr volleyball on the grass area . Once a week they offer Tequlia tasting for roughly 20mins near the pool. For only 1 hr the offer Pool volleyball. During the night Once a week they have a fire show in the evening nothing wow.... Once a week they have karaoke night for about 1 hr near the lobby Once a week they have saxophone player & a pianist by the lobby bar . There is a "club" on the property that opens daily at 9/10pm-1am . Located on the ground floor Room service : 7/10 Food from room service was decent but it DOES take long to get. Roughly 50mins once you order .The room service menu changes through the day breakfast/lunch/dinner /after hrs menu... you can max order 7 plates although French fries counts as a plate.... Pool: 3/10 Only one pool! Unless you are a preferred member. There were many small bugs that swim in the water that bite your legs/ they look like a water mosquitoes . Also iguanas that will swim in the pool ! Temperature of the water was great 87 degrees or so. Pool is pretty deep though out at 4 to 4 1/2 ft .... (Short women must tippy toe) Pool closed at 8pm & if you have a swim out suite you can use your own pool 24/7 with quite hrs after 10pm. Temperature of swim our suites are a bit warmer then the main pool!

Yelp
Food: Horrendous food, book your trip here if you want to come home 10 pounds skinnier from not eating! It was really unfortunate that my boyfriend got food poisoning from Oceana legit the first night we got in. He was sick the entire trip and lost so much weight. Every morning he had to take a 1 hour bath/use the bathroom multiple times and take Tums just to make it to the pool. I am pretty sure the Sea bass I ordered from Oceana was actually a piece of rubber. It was so tough I couldn't even cut a bite to try it. I basically went the entire trip starving. When we got to the airport for departure home I stuffed my face with fish tacos at the taco bar because I was so hungry....also this was my first time having fish tacos even after we had been in Mexico for 5 days...huge bummer. Staff: Overall amazing customer service. The staff was accommodating and allowed us to upgrade to the preferred pool (because my boyfriend got food poisoning) which SAVED our trip. The main pool is not what you would imagine at a 5 star Golf Resort - it was filled with drunk partygoers, screaming and twerking on the bar (not relaxing at all!) Property: Overall, beautiful property however the food absolutely ruins the experience. If you choose to stay here, upgrade to the preferred pool.

Yelp
This was my first stay at an all inclusive resort. That in mind, my expectations were based on experiences of others. Based on my visit to Secrets, I am officially not a fan of the all inclusive concept. It really felt all BUT inclusive in my opinion. This is despite have the "preferred" status -- which I never understood what it provided. When trying to have dinner at Portofino's (Italian) we were forced to choose to wait an hour or "pay $400" to be seated then. Like many of the other reviews have pointed out, the food was less than average. There was no "wow" factor with anything. Staff was 50/50. There were those who really seemed to understand hospitality and then there was the opposite...you can totally tell they didn't want to be there and it seemed uncomfortable requested a drink. Room. Due to a booking error by our travel agency booking, we were upgraded to "Master Suite Swim Out - Ocean View". The room itself was nice as was having the ability to hang in swim out whenever. The Ocean View part was a joke as there was bo view of the ocean as they plant large bushes/trees which completely block the view. But not a big deal. I enjoyed the company of our group (18 of us), thus made the best of it. TLDR: Pool Service: A (only reason for a second star) Food Service: F Overall Service: C Food: D Room: C+ Value: D- Not worth their cost. Return? Not a chance Recommend? No

Yelp
In anticipation of our visit here, I monitored the TripAdvisor reviews daily for like a month. Funny what some people get so hung up on. First off, this is a really nice resort with great proximity to San Jose. Yes, it was completed when Nieto was president so it's not brand spanking new, but it was clearly built to last (apparently a hurricane, as some found out last week). I think a lot of folks forget that although this is Hyatt, it is in a economically developing environment and should set their expectations for many things as such. I agree with all reviewers that the staff really go above and beyond. Like my review monitoring beforehand, I also took the time communicate with the concierge ahead of time to let them know it was our anniversary and what our needs were. I highly recommend you do the same. The quality of our experience was all the better for it, as it was for choosing the preferred guest option. The preferred lounge made a difference in many small ways including check in, snacking and drinking and such. The grounds are really special. Yes the beach here is not for swimming, but they have a great pool, preferred club pool, and our room even had a swim out pool, so who needs to almost die in a Mexican riptide or smashed on the rocky shore? Ahh, the food. The resort is 5 star in so many of the little things, yet remember that this is an all-inclusive; you are seeking and paying for quantity over quality. That said, the only real disappointment was Portofino, the Italian restaurant. Really liked Oceana and Himitsu teppanyaki was fun and got us meeting some other guests. All around, I think all restaurants need to not be so stingy with their saucing. Room was really inviting, clean, and housekeeping was on their game! Had a minor bathroom issue that they came and fixed right away. AC worked great ( didn't always need it, highly recommend late October visit). Room service said they'd be 45 minutes, got there in 15. Great activities like get drunk and paint, water spinning and aerobics, casino night and asado grill dinner under the stars. Lots of complaining in the reviews about Vacation Club/timeshare pressure. This was never mentioned to us once. Truth be told, we loved it so much here we'd consider it. (Don't try and upsell us post visit, please) Our kid turns 18 in a year. Can't wait to to come back with her, since the staff really try to keep things high energy and fun. The Costco deal was the way to to do it; we got a better price than what I've seen elsewhere, departure and arrival transportation was all set and there was a Costco concierge on sight to assist with excursions. Again, the staff make this special. Bring a few hundred dollars in ones and fives for tipping everyone, it makes the service even better. Shout out to Claudia, Jose, every Danny I encountered ( no joke, even though they are also my team. Danny's are just super cool), Juan in Rendezvous (aka Jorge) Christopher, Charlie in Himitsu, other Juan in preferred bar, and definitely NOT Ivan (just kidding, that kid is a hospitality industry legend in the making). To paraphrase Arnold, we'll be back.

Yelp
GREAT PLACE! Loved our visit and will eventually go back! it was paradise. The food was good. nothing amazing but since I tampered my expectations i was never disappointed the service was good, especially by the pool. The one drawback was the timeshares they are tricky and pretty annoying so watch out. that was my only bad experience here.

Yelp
Great property - nice rooms and you can certainly tell this is a Secrets Resort - high quality and fine details. However, their reservation system is an absolute MESS! The Japanese restaurant on property requires a same day reservation at 4 pm. So, I jump out of the pool at 3:30 and head to the restaurant. I get to the restaurant and I'm number two in line - good to go right??? Not so fast!!! The hostess lets me and another lady stand outside for 10 minutes with four feet between us and a glass door before she opens the doors and tells us we needed to go to the main lobby to make a reservation. I go to the main lobby and there are 20 people in the main lobby. Another guest takes charge and makes a list, in order, of the people who were in line to get a reservation. Good idea-until the same hostess I stood in front of at the restaurant arrives and throws the list away. Now, she proclaims, just make a line and it turns into a free for-all and who cares when you arrived. The clock ticks and now I'm an hour into this process. I get to the front of the line and guess what? The hostess I stood in front of for 10 minutes and the same hostess who threw the organized list away, tells me, we are done with reservations for the night! Needless to say-this experience is NOT a 5 star experience! I've stayed at and enjoyed many Secrets properties, but this is by far the worst experience I have had at the resort. I spoke to a manager, but apparently, that gets you nowhere these days. He admitted the system sucked and offered zero solutions to the problem. Another example of "who cares that you spent hard earned money on your vacation" mentality-just suck it up! Enjoy Secrets folks !!!!

Yelp
This was the first time we stayed all inclusive adult resort. Everyone here on staff was super polite & professional especially Adrian & Fernanda. People were always cleaning here and doing beautiful detailed landscaping. The only warning I have is about these time share things.. our friends got hijacked into that ( 3 - 4 hours waste of time) but at least we went on a free sunset dinner cruise and saw beautiful whales! The Patio Mexican restaurant at night was my favorite and I had some top shelf tequila and great food! The gym was really great, I regret having lack of time to go there each morning. Since we celebrated our anniversary with our friends they gave us some really nice perks & surprises!

Yelp
Cabo is sort of like what would happen if Palm Springs had an ocean. It's not super tropical but has more of a desert meets the waves vibe which I don't mind. Secrets is a nice resort that embraces the look and feel of its surroundings. Everything is spacious, airy and most things here are set up for outdoors and decent weather. It's also an all-inclusive which means buffets, a couple on-site sit down dining options, a pool and all the tequila you can throw down the hatch. Perhaps their biggest attraction is their golf course, which pulls in more of a relaxed crowd and less of a partygoer, spring break crowd. If you're looking for loud, search elsewhere. If you want to play 18 holes then chug mezcal while getting sunburned in the pool and snacking on nachos; you've come to the right place. I'd definitely go back.

Yelp
This resort goes above and beyond for their guests. We spent 7 days and hated to leave. The Staff are the most helpful, happy, and kind people. Efrem and Alberto greet you and take care of your luggage among other duties. All with big friendly smiles. Love those guys. Mirna, Fernanda, and Roberto at the pool. Always made sure we had towels, chairs, and drinks. Also some good advice where the best tamales are on the art walk in San Jose. Oh and Sexy Charlie and Lorraina gave us a tour during the art walk. Very informative and fun people. The Rendezvous bar was a great place for a quiet drink before and after dinner. Tania was always there to greet us with a big smile, and she always remembered our names. Misa and Maria and the rest of the crew at the tables in the lobby were always ready to help. Big smiles and hellos. Asking how our day was going or if we needed anything. Everyone says Olla with smiles and always felt like they genuinely were happy to see us. We learned some Spanish and helped them practice their English. Everything is inclusive but don't forget to bring tip money. They deserve it. I hope I didn't forget anybody but I'm sure I did. Oh, the young man who works in the kitchen. Rubber boots and checkered pants who speaks no English. He went out of his way to help us find our way to El Patio restaurant. We gave him $5 tip. He was so helpful. Wish I knew his name. The grounds were so well manicured and beautiful. I highly recommend this resort. Adding a few pictures just to show the beautiful grounds.

Yelp
Food, pool, room, vibes are all great. The ocean tho is a different level. They barricade the sand so no one even walks on the sand. Doesn't make sense. Everyone comes and is so disappointed, turns around and walks away frustrated. Like we get the ocean isn't safe but I won't drown walking near the water. It's pretty ridiculous. Literally not one person on the sand walking. Super sad cuz they have a nice beach.

Yelp
We have stayed at several Secrets resorts over the years. For our anniversary, we decided to try this one. Out of the four we have been to, this is has been the worst experience we've had. Pros: The staff was incredible. They bust their butts and were incredibly kind. Our waiters remembered our names and allergies and celebrated with us. The poolside team was great and helped me find new mocktails since I was pregnant and couldn't drink. You also can not beat the remote view here. The mountains are gorgeous and it's a beautiful resort. The spa was amazing and kind. They accommodated a prenatal massage and my husband enjoyed his massage as well. Highly recommend. Cons: The food was terrible. Limited options for breakfast. Even with preferred club. Food quality was non existent with the exception of the Asian restaurant. We ordered room service the last day and waited two hours for our food before we decided to go somewhere else for breakfast. Once we got to that breakfast, we never once had a server so we had our dry flavorless meal without water or coffee. The smell: the entire resort smelled like sewage. The entertainment: At every resort we've been to there was nighttime entertainment. Here, we found ourselves in bed early every night because outside of live music at one restaurant (one not even listed on the list of restaurant options), there was nothing until a 10:30 DJ at the sports bar. They did put on one event while we were there which was neat but also not advertised or listed anywhere. The preferred club: this is something that we have come to love throughout our trips. The upgraded bar, additional staff for questions, food throughout the day, private dining options has always been a worth it. Until here. The preferred club was helpful the day we checked in, did have food, but that is where the perks stopped. The breakfast option you got with it was slow and our order was wrong each time. The pool was always crowded and the office was never staffed. We didn't even know the process to check out because they never told us. The drinks were also better at the other bars. It is a waste of money at this resort. Communication: there were several things we found out through walking into the situation. Ie: you have to pay to rent a cabana. Which we are happy to do. We loved getting to rent a cabana in the morning on prior trips. Unfortunately here, you found out when you sat down on them. We would have gladly rented one in advanced had anyone told us. The awesome event they three one night, we found out from someone who was running volleyball. It was just a figure it out as you go resort. Excursions: we had booked a catamaran ride only to find the day of that you can't go on when pregnant. She did not tell us this when we booked it. They were great about finding another solution. The part we were not aware of is that we would spend 4 hours in a car for a 3 hour excursion. The excursion was only 40 minutes away. Celebrations: When we booked this trip we booked it as an anniversary trip. This is the third year we have done this. There is usually a welcome display/situation/wine there when you get there. That did not happen. There is usually a banner and other perks... none of that was there either. Just something to keep in mind, you will be hit with a sales pitch upon arrival. It's very much a sales pitch vs a meeting. We expected this but I do think it's a subpar way to start your vacation. "Thank you for coming please buy this 30,000$ package". When booking we even were charged twice (over 3k each time) for the trip and it took over a month to have the original payment returned. We love the secrets family resorts and our pool side waitstaff from this trip but will unfortunately not be back.

Yelp
My husband and I checked in on Wednesday 10/18. When we arrived we were greeted with a cold eucalyptus towel and offered us a glass of champagne! It was a great start to our mini vacation! After check-in we were approached by our "concierge" who ended up being a Vacation Club employee to sign us up for the vacation club presentation. That part was a bit annoying. We explained upfront we're not interested but since I wanted the complimentary massage we decided to sit through the presentation. The next morning we met someone for breakfast and then they guided us to the presentation room. It was a bit awkward to eat breakfast with someone you didn't know, but honestly it wasn't that bad - if you clearly are not interested you just have to stand your ground and not let any sales tactics get to you. After about 2 hours we shook hands and they let us go - this was a breeze considering my husband and I have been stuck in a 5 hour presentation before! The next day I was able to enjoy a wonderful 80 min massage by Patricia! The staff was 100% top notch! Everyone was so pleasant and did all they could do to make our stay comfortable! The food was very delicious! They had a variety of dishes and it seemed they tried to accommodate everyone's palette. The aesthetic was wonderful! We stayed in a "garden view" room which was still very lovely. We thought about upgrading to an ocean view room but it would've been an extra $300 a night. I'm glad we decided to stick to our garden view room because we could still see the ocean! Unfortunately on the day we were supposed to leave we got caught in Hurricane Norma, so we had to stay an extra night. The hotel took very good care of us to make sure we were safe. Due to the circumstances guests were not allowed out of there rooms during the hurricane and the staff delivered box meals throughout the day. Also the power went out on Friday night, so the AC wasn't on during the day of the hurricane. The room got pretty humid, but the rooms came with big sliding doors. It wasn't ideal but it's a hurricane! Finally at 6pm they opened up the buffet restaurant and served a buffet meal in one of their ballrooms. I see that this annoyed other guests but the hotel is in a very secluded area in San Jose and the next day when we left we saw areas that were still pretty flooded. Unfortunately a 14 yr old boy had died from a near by neighborhood close to the hotel because he accidentally stepped on a power line that came down. I understand that the hurricane ruined some peoples vacations but the hotel also has an obligation to keep their staff safe as well. I honestly felt the hotel handled the hurricane situation in the best way. Overall we had a great time! I would 100% stay here again

Yelp
Just got back from my 40th birthday vacation and the best thing about this resort is the waiter Roberto Sanchez. He remembered us from our past trip and made this trip memorable because of his hospitality and friendliness. He was so accommodating and always had our seats reserved at the pool with towels and waters ready to go. He's the best!

Yelp
Secrets Puerto Los Cabos was a disappointment. Beginning with arrival we were harassed by the marketing team trying to push their membership on us before we had even stepped foot out of the reception area. We foolishly agreed to a breakfast presentation in exchange for a couples massage, which turned into a three hour high pressure sales pitch that we finally stood up and walked out of. The resort itself lacked the usual activities of other Mexico resorts, what's included here is a guided walk on the beach, yoga, water a robins, a bike ride, and a putting green. The beach is almost non existent and not really recommended you frequent. We were expecting snorkeling or water sports but they did not offer. We opted to upgrade to the club section, which supposedly offer a nicer room, but upon checking our coffee maker did not work, the in room safe did not work, both of which took a day and several phone calls to get replaced. The staff here was very accommodating and pleasant to interact with.. especially Carlos, the bartender in the VIP club, Carlos the concierge in the 600 building, and Christian the pool manager. The highlight of this resort is the fabulous dining options.. We ate at all five restaurants, and had very good service and meals. One of the best was the hibachi at Himitsu (don't skip the deep fried vanilla ice cream covered ok kahlua). The Market Cafe offers an exceptional breakfast buffet daily, with options for everyone.

Yelp
I cannot recommend this resort more to anyone. Perfect for relaxation & a nice get away! So much quality with everything we encountered, the meals, drinks, activities & cleanliness. Every interaction was 5 star. Shoutout to Delmer with the entertainment team. He wears many hats and their team is lucky to have him I saw him leading exercise classes, mini golf competitions, pool volleyball and all the way to city tours in the downtown area. We loved every second at the resort & can't wait to come back! I enjoyed the proximity to the towns but loved being a little further away from all the business of the city life. We did not stay preferred and didn't regret that at all it was a great 5 star stay!

Yelp
Positives- Beautiful resort, large main pool and the staff are kind and attentive Negatives- food was mediocre, room service took about 70 minutes on average, only buffet option for breakfast (unless you are in the preferred club). We were with a large group and at least 7 people got sick after eating at Oceana one night (which was then closed the following night)

Yelp
The food was decent. There is a time share on property so you'll probably get asked to hear the pitch. The pool was fun but we had to get there super early (7am) to get a chair. Our room however had dark brown water coming out of the tub and we had no hot water. When we called the front desk they asked if we would like to shower somewhere else then go back to our room. We spent hours waiting for it to get fixed and had to pressure them before they decided to move us. When I complained they offered us free entrance into the spa area (a service they typically give for free anyway). We weren't interested in spending an hour in a jacuzzi and steam room when it was 90 degrees outside. They finally offered a massage for some of us but had no time available except 4pm and we were planning to do an excursion. Customer service was not great. I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
We arrived by transport via TransCabo to the hotel. It took about 30 minutes even though it is close to the airport because the winding roads to get to Secrets. View of the ocean from the Oceanside bar and lounge area is very nice. The Tiki style huts provide shade for the chaise lounge chairs in the sand on the cliffs. No beach access due to rip tides and definitely no swimming. It is very disappointing that we can not be on the beach to walk along the beach here. In my opinion, that is the biggest drawback from the resort. To avoid this, search for swimmable beaches at the hotels, there are only 12 in Cabo. Service here is quick and good. Our in-room safe was not working and someone came to repair it within 5 minutes. They had to exchange the safe, but it didn't take very long. Everywhere they want to try and sell you on a TimeShare talk. Be careful when they say, "We can give you a discounted room, spa treatment, dinner, massage, transportation etc..." it's going to cost you your time for that discount. One great hack we discovered was to take an Uber ride (about $35 one way) to Medano Beach so that you can enjoy walking the beach. There are a lot of people selling boat rides or taxi boats to the Pelican beach and Lover's beach with the arch formation. The boats will tour around the point and show you the sights. We were able to secure round trip on the boat for $20/person which is a lot cheaper than arranging it with the transport company or the hotel. They were charging between $90-110 per person. Bring extra small bills for tips to the boat drivers and for the guys on the beach. We upgraded halfway through our stay at Secrets to the preferred and even had Oceanside stay not just an ocean view. This was a suite on the corner at the top level with hot tube on the balcony. This was a great upgrade from the basic Garden Suite. You have access to the preferred lounge as well were you can get snacks and top shelf drinks. There are also books to borrow for something to read in the lounge cabinets under the TVs. (Hidden, so look for them). With the preferred level you also get access to the pool at the Oceana along with one of 3 cabanas. The cabanas at the main pool can be reserved for $50/day with the pool concierge. The cabanas were nice to use to get some shade. The restaurants are good and they serve great dishes. The entertainment was great most nights. The exercise activities were also very enjoyable. Overall the service was very good and made up for some downsides such as no beach access. They also have a golf course available for use. Getting an Uber to town close by is very cheap, about $7 one way. Definitely a great place to stay for the price.

Yelp
The most common overused phrase at this resort is, "Unfortunately, I'm sorry but no". The reason for 2 stars is for 1) the beautiful grounds and structures, and 2) the restaurant and bar staff who are amazing. If you choose to stay here don't waste your time and money on the "Preferred" packages unless you go in knowing they may not keep their promises. Also, know that upon check-in you are IMMEDIATELY thrown into a sales pitch before they will take you to your room. I felt like I came to Cabo to buy a used car. I think a better name for the resort should be Promises Broken. But on to why I am writing this lengthy post... The show started at check-in. We paid for a honeymoon package. They instruct you to bring a copy of your marriage license which we did and happily produced to the gentleman checking us in. He pushed it back saying he did not need it. Moving forward, after contacting the "Preferred" Concierge on a matter with the room, and after being transferred 3 times and disconnected (which really sounded like someone picked up the phone and hung it up) we decided it was better to go to the desk in person that's exactly what we did. As the concierge was reviewing our check-in information she noted things missing like proof of marriage. I had to go back to the room and get our copy of the marriage certificate, then we spent probably another 1/2 hour checking in again. Got back to the room and you could hang meat it was so cold. Thermostat would not do anything. Called maintenance they came and beat on something with a hammer. Things started to work again. About our honeymoon package we were promised, upon arrival we were supposed to have in our room a banner, flowers, sparkling wine, fruit and turndown service. We received zero, zip, nada. I went to our building concierge and brought this to his attention. He said it was all fixed and would be taken care of the next day. We did ask for our sparkling wine to be delivered as the "Preferred" fully stocked bar and fridge consists of 4 mini bottles of Pacifico beer (not my "preferred" choice) and 1 each mini bottle of Bacardi Rum, Johnnie Walker, and some Reposado tequila I've never heard of. When we asked for a few mini bottles of white wine be brought up that was the first time of many we heard the phrase, "Unfortunately, I'm sorry but no" (it certainly would not be the last). The sparkling wine we asked to be delivered, first try was about 3 hours after we requested it and was a bottle of Merlot (we were out of the room at the time checking in a 2nd time). We returned it as my beautiful wife does not care for Merlot and again requested sparkling wine be delivered as promised. It was delivered at about 10pm after we had already gone to bed. By the way the turn down service showed up at 945 just at as we crawled into bed (we advised them it was a bit late). Day 2 we were asked to stay out of the room between 1-3 so they could set up the suite. At 3:30 we went back to zero, zip, nada but did notice they managed to set up our neighbors suite for the anniversary package. At that point we gave up. I emailed the building concierge and expressed The only saving grace was when we entered the "Preferred" lounge a little later we were greeted by Daniella, who the day prior had re-checked us in and had told us this had been corrected. When she inquired how we liked it, we told her once again there was nothing other than a bottle of wine delivered at 10pm but don't worry about it. As we walked away we heard her on the phone in what I assume was a serious *ss chewing to someone. By the time we returned to our room it had been hurriedly sort of set up. We appreciate Daniella's effort, although the sour taste had already been felt (I did go thank her the next day). Day 3 they came by at 845 at night and hung a Happy Anniversary banner on our door. We didn't have the heart to tell the young man who hung it that we were newlyweds...at this point we just laugh at the tragedy of errors. By the way earlier in the day, we ran into another newlywed couple who had paid for the honeymoon package and received (wait for it) zero zip nada. Day 4 The fridge went out. Had to call maintenance twice to get the to the room, guy said it's good and left. 3rd call was to concierge management. While we were waiting for maintenance the AC went hot. Maintenance changed the fridge and beat on something to make the AC work yet again. You just can't make this stuff up. We stayed a total of 7 days and did love the facilities but were unimpressed that many promises went unkept. I was going to add another star but at check out, after requesting and them later confirming a 915 bellhop to get us to the front of the resort, they were a no-show. We had to lug our bags on our own so as not to be late for transportation. One last kiss I guess before we departed. Your experience may vary...

Yelp
Just got back from here. The hotel, is *nice* .. the grounds are well kept and pretty, the pools are nice, and the customer service, for the most part, is very nice. Nice, nice, nice. But I will tell you what isn't so nice - and that is the quality of the food. If you a foodie in any sense of the word, then I'm afraid you won't enjoy yourself. The food is functionally the equivalent of what you'd get at a (nice) Old County Buffet. Like a nice one in a strip mall that also has a UPS Store and maybe even a Cartridge World. Look folks, this is a nice hotel. But the food is simply garbage. At every restaurant (and I was at the upgraded package) the food was just not very good. Oh and also, bubble guts. If you're not familiar with the phrase, you will be after staying at Secrets. So yes, it's a nice hotel - rooms were nice (bed wasn't sumptuous, but it wasn't awful -- it was nice). But oh man the food is bad. Some of it was downright embarrassing.

Yelp
Resort is very nice and well laid out. But the staff is not up to par with other Secrets locations. They all seemed inconvenienced whenever asked to do something even in the preferred lounges and restaurants. This morning I was seated to breakfast after 15 mins still had not been helped and again that was at Oceana the "Preffred club" restaurant. Very different than every other Secrets we've stayed which usually have to highest level of service. There were definitely a few exceptions of staff who were helpful but not many.

Yelp
This is a retirement community. If you're looking to come to Cabo to party and have a good time, do not come here. This is a place for you to sleep and do nothing. 1. The resort shuts down at midnight 2. It's about a 45 minute drive from any nightlife 3. They do not allow shots of alcohol 4. The rooms smell like mildew 5. The DJ is at the pool for maybe an hour My advise is, if your under 50 and want to enjoy Cabo's nightlife, you should stay somewhere else. I will not be coming back to this resort. Lowering my rating. Went to the Italian restaurant to put in a reservation for 8 and the host told me no reservations needed. When we got to the restaurant at the designated time we we're asked if we made a reservation and then told we need to wait an hour or pay $1000 for a special table. My group then goes downstairs to the Mexican restaurant and the place was almost empty, at this point I'm thinking "thank God there's no one here because I'm starving" we then sit at the restaurant for two hours after putting in our order and no food came. We ended up leaving the restaurant with no food. This place is a rip off and I will never come here again.... My advise is to stay away.

Yelp
I really want to love it but I can't. I've stayed at Secrets from other places like Cancun and Santorini. I loved them all, until..... Cabo. After hours of traveling, the first thing I wanted was a nice drink and good food so I can relax and unpack in my room. But these people at the hotel greets us and tried to bait us for 1.5hr into buying timeshares! Waste of my TIME! Nice hotel but I'm sure there are nicer ones around, I would not come back to this resort anymore. Tip for anyone coming here: right after you check in, you do not need to talk to anyone! Just go to your room and don't be bother unless you're interested in buying their timeshare
