Secrets St. James Montego Bay

Lovely very relaxing stay , highly recommend to do snorkeling, paddle boarding you will see whole other world! Reef is so deep and beautiful, water clear and there are tons of different fishes. So magical! We enjoyed pool fun and music. Bartenders doing great job there, very clean and spacious rooms. However hotel is under renovation, few pools and bars were closed. But still so much to do. Night bands are unique! What else? Visit wood handmade store at beach, he is making everything there by himself, we bought beautiful souvenirs. Got lucky with weather, just one time rain started even it’s a rain season. Really enjoyed coconut water stands and chicken grill!

I have to say my butlerTroy was amazing and super cute too. He did his best to minimize issues any issues we had with the hotel. As well as booked all excursions and dinner. We selected early check in before we got to the hotel but it wasn’t available when we got there. I think we went up 20 mins before 3 and the front desk Clark stated we should pay 50 dollars at least for going up early at all. The refrigerated never worked room service took all day. And the food was horrible except the French fries they were pretty good. For the most part I have to say it was the worst resort food I personally have ever experienced. Only the main bar had top shelf alcohol which was disappointing . And at the evening parts in the lobby they quickly ran out of top shelf alcohol. sand was serving Smirnoff or something of that nature. There was issues getting clean wash cloths everyday. I was very annoyed about it. And this is the only all inclusive I have stayed at where I had to pay extra for stake and or lobster. The list goes on. All in all I did not prefer this resort and I am sure I won’t return. Rating this a 2/5.

These hotels (Secret Saint-James and White Orchid belonging to the same group) do not meet the international criteria for 5-star hotels and for Hyatt brand.|We had requested a high floor and the room we were assigned was on the second floor. The front desk closes at 10:30 p.m. every day. If needed, only one employee is available from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. to cover all the needs of guests from all three units: Secrets Wild Orchid, Secrets Saint-James, and Breathless. No butler service is provided after 8:00 p.m. and this service is also rarely available after 5:00 p.m.|Wi-Fi: no high-speed connection and no Wi-Fi or low-speed Wi-Fi with erratic outages after 11:00 p.m. The hotel is very noisy; all suites have a connecting door to a neighboring single/double room which means you can't enjoy complete peace and quiet. Lounge music plays all night by the beaches and the pools, making it impossible to sleep with the windows open. The room is sometime not cleaned at all. The hotel has obvious hygiene issues: smell of sewage/rotten eggs/sulfur in the running water and water pipes, including in the water served in jugs at restaurants, ystematic failure to clear room service trays on a daily basis. The ice machines are out of service. All 7 restaurants serve industrial cuisine. Some local dishes are available à la carte, but with huge extra-charge. The Oceana and Seaside Grill restaurants, which were the only ones offering seafood, were closed throughout our stay. The hotel did not offer any alternatives.

Exceptional Stay – Beyond Our Expectations! Our recent stay at this hotel was nothing short of maximum in terms of our experience. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was unmatched. The front desk staff who checked us in were incredibly warm, welcoming, and accommodating, ensuring that every detail was taken care of so we could have the best time possible. A special mention goes to the concierge, who went above and beyond to help us celebrate our friend’s birthday. The room was beautifully decorated, making the occasion even more special and memorable it was such a thoughtful touch that truly set this hotel apart.(I provided the balloons) Throughout our stay, every single staff member in the restaurant, bar, and entertainment areas showed the same level of genuine care and friendliness. Service was consistent, professional, and always delivered with a smile. This was a stay where every detail was handled to perfection, and it’s clear that the staff take great pride in making guests feel valued. We left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return

We went here for our holiday this year and omggg. I'm sooo happy we did, it was also my birthday as well so we did it up. Jamaica is amazing, the food, the people and this hotel was absolutely fantastic, it had everything you can think of. The restaurant were all good, very clean. They definitely go above and beyond. The room service, the house keepers, the bartenders and the entertainment was all excellent. I will definitely be back.

We hadn't visited the Secrets properties in Montego Bay for many years and I am happy to have gotten back here. As soon as we arrived a member of the staff greeted us with a golf cart, loaded our bags and gave us a quick tour of the property to show us the beach because I mentioned how we had just stayed in Negril and loved that beach. He couldn't wait to show us how they improved and expanded the beach area. Let me just say WOW! What a major improvement! Soooo pretty with plenty of seating options. The room, staff, food, drinks and entertainment were all amazing. You have access to both Secrets Resorts and guests stay in the Preferred Club at either can go over to Breathless as well. Check out the pictures from the Breathless rooftop pool. Beautiful views and a nice swim up pool bar too. I'm glad we went back to this property after all these years to see how amazing it is now!

I visited this property in late July. The property is well maintained. It is situated in a picturesque location. The food was average. However, the service was impeccable! Kudos to Tajae & Darwin who provided 5-star customer service. We very seldom had to request anything because they anticipated our every need.

I am very disappointed with my recent stay. My booking was originally for St. James, but due to ongoing construction we were moved to Wild Orchid. I was expecting a much better experience, especially since we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. Unfortunately, the service and the front desk did not meet my expectations, particularly compared to other resorts I have stayed at in the past—which should make a strong first impression. Considering the cost of this booking, which was one of the most expensive trips I’ve had, this turned out to be the most disappointing experience. Will not recommend and won’t come back here!!
