Happy with my experience at Secrets Hotel Montego Bay.||Secrets Reception & Main Desk Staff: Amazing service from the secrets reception team, providing us with all information needed and making our stay easy and comfortable||Room: Was clean filled with the necessary items and amenities the stay also included room service (although room service is not always quick). A minor issue I had was one of the sinks were leaking and it was not fixed within the time I stayed. The room was kept clean and was reset by the cleaners regularly. The fridge was kept stocked with different beverages.||The hotel: Amazing views an options of places to lounge, relax, drink or party. Due to the many sections there is an area for the quiet readers, the relaxers and an area for the party goers. The wild life, plants and beach was all kept well and gave that true tropical serene vibe.||Food: An upgrade from past times as I had and saw much more Caribbean options that represent wi culture better rather than catering for Americans. I think its important for us to make sure Jamaican dishes are at the forefront of these hotels experience for foreigners to experience our culture in full. I also feel all!! staff including maintenance and cleaning team should experience all restaurants and bars so that when customers ask what they think is the best restaurant or best cuisine, a honest review can be made. Food was good really enjoyed it.||The entertainment staff was pleasant and made everyone around me feel welcome, the beach bar staff were funny and attentive to orders really liked Dwaynes bar service and was very knowledgeable about the drinks.||I believe you can be professional and not uptight and the staff all in all done exactly this. All in all my experience at secrets was a great one was recommended to by a friend and didn’t disappoint.

We stayed at Secrets Wild Orchid from August 1–6, 2025, and unfortunately, this experience fell far below our expectations, especially for a resort advertised as 5 stars.||The property itself needs major upgrades: both the amenities and rooms feel dated. The pools, while usable, looked old and, in some areas, had visible mould. Our room was fine but nothing special, certainly not what you would expect for the price or rating.||The biggest disappointment was the food. After dining at the Japanese and Mexican restaurants, my husband and I became sick for the last 2.5 days of our trip. The meat quality, particularly at the Japanese restaurant, was poor, with excessive fat and unappealing presentation. Having stayed at other Secrets resorts, this was far below the standard we’ve experienced in the past.||Upon checkout, we spoke with a manager about our experience and the fact that we became sick due to the food quality. Unfortunately, nothing was done, and no apology was offered. A very disappointing end to an already underwhelming trip.||The beach and water were relatively clean, but there were many sharp rocks along the path leading into the water that could easily cut your feet. More sanded areas or better cleanup would make a big difference.||The staff were polite, but no one went above and beyond to make our stay special. Another frustration was the “first-come, first serve” lounge chairs by the pool. Many were marked as reserved, making it difficult to find a spot unless you woke up very early.||We have previously loved and recommended Secrets resorts, but this experience left us very hesitant to return. Sadly, this property did not meet the standards we’ve come to expect from the brand.

The property and resort is nice, although we weren't blown away or impressed above our expectations. The food is delicious, however there are some that I would avoid, such as El Patio. The a la carte dinners also took a long time, up to 2 hours if you also have dessert, which lead to long wait times if you don't arrive close to opening at 6:00. The app was also not accurate, listing hours for each restaurant, which changed our plans more than once when we arrived to a closed restaurant. Room service was quite slow at times, so we only ordered breakfast which was more prompt. The very large size of the resort (combining 3 resorts) seems to be a challenge from a service and maintenance aspect. The pool area was clean. Although the beach/ocean had a high amount of sargassum, it was still swimmable. The ocean only gets around 3-5ft deep up to the buoys. Lots of beach chairs available. Pool chairs were more limited. This is the 2nd Secrets we have stayed at, and Secrets Cap Cana was a more impressive resort to us, and left us expecting more from Wild Orchid. Overall, this is a good resort worth going to and we had a great time, but unless it is your first time at an all inclusive, you should adjust your expectations.

We chose this resort for our honeymoon and we had a fantastic time.||The scenery and backdrop to the whole resort is outstanding and our view from the hotel room was lovely.||From the moment we arrived we were treated really well and were offered cold towels and a drink from the bar (a welcome treat after a 9 hr flight!).||Housekeeping were brilliant and we always had fresh bedding and towels whenever we returned. On our last night we had a beautiful turn down service with a hot bubble bath, chocolates and jazz music - thank you for this it was lovely.||The food is consistently really good, however a very special mention has to go to the Teppanyaki experience at the Asian restaurant. The chefs were theatrically brilliant and the food was delicious. The Jamaican, Italian and oceana pool side restaurants were our favourites but all the restaurants are fantastic as is the service. Tip well, these servers work so hard!!! There was a phenomenal spread at breakfast with talented chefs at omlette stations every morning. Drinks were outstanding too (if a little heavy on the rum!). Special mention to Wendy who traipsed up and down the beaches in 33 degree weather offering smiles, a check in and any new drinks etc.||||Lastly, we need to give a special mention to all the entertainment department. They work exceptionally hard to keep all the guests entertained and we were never left bored! We were particularly impressed with Jazz and Melody who work tirelessly and with enthusiasm both during the day and in the evenings - we will miss you!

In general would give this resort a 3.5 out of 5. They desperately need to remodel and upgrade their rooms, pool, restaurants décor etc. The hospitality was not always good, a lot of times the women would give a lot of attitude and make it seem like getting our requests were such a pain to them. Our toilet was clogged one of the nights just because they didn't work well enough. I had to call front desk 3 times with a wait of over an hour, no one came. I had to go down to front desk and demand maintenance to ride in the elevator with me to fix the issue. A few days later when we were making a reservation to a restaurant the hostess was oh room # XXX you guys had the toilet complaint - EXCUSE ME? First of very unprofessional you would bring that up at dinner, secondly it wasn't my fault maintenance was not doing their job and I had to yell at them to do so. The food was really good however, the wait for receiving your food was sometimes over an hour. The hibachi experience was one of our top memories - definitely recommend. The coffee shop had great coffee and the women there were very nice there. The beach area was great, beautiful, calm waves with amazing sunset. In general I do not think the cost for this resort was worth what we got

The staff are really great and made the holiday really worth it. I would say all the restaurants could have had more vegan options, but anyone going that does eat plant based, the breakfast options were great and every restaurant did have a vegan option available. As the second Hyatt hotel that I stayed at I would say it could do with a bit of a spruce up with the decoration. Overall though was a magical trip and loved it there!

The place was beautiful. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned daily but never stocked for enough people. We had 3 in the room, and it only had 2 robes, slippers. towels daily, etc. When called and asked for more we did not receive any until the very last day. There were a couple times that room service did not show up. The excursion we purchased was misleading and we ended up on a bus for a total of 6 hours after being told we were not taking a bus, yet a short boat ride.

SWO was a fantastic location for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. The preferred club room provided plenty of space and a view of the sunset from the room each day. Schan and Trisan @ VIP services were fantastic. Matthew (Bill Clinton), Nickoda @ Portofino, Tamar @ El Patio, Felicia @ Rooftop Bar/Altitude, Lyndon @ Bordeaux and Rohan @ Blue Mountain all made our trip memorable and provided excellent service! I can see why this location receives a ton of repeat vistors.
