It would be 5 stars if it weren’t for the inattentive service - the drinks and food are excellent but service is so abysmal it makes for a really poor experience. I’ve been twice and both times the waiter ignored us for the full 2 hours. First time was early 2025, food was excellent and their ricotta toast especially lived in my mind rent free for the rest of the year. Tables are extremely small to fit any plates though despite a thorough food menu even pastas. The seats are extremely close together you’re attached to the next seats/table and during this visit I kept getting shoved and elbowed by the man at the next attached table, very uncomfortable for a stranger. It was so close together also that we couldn’t have our own separate conversation as it kept getting interrupted by the couple next to us, it was just way too close. While the decor is beautiful it is simply poorly designed and the proximity of the tables & adjoined seats down the center ruin the experience. Worst of all though despite the tiny space it was impossible to get the bartender’s/waiter’s attention both to order and to get a second cocktail. I thought this was one off but this weekend December 6 2025 it was the exact same thing again. I am not sure whether they are understaffed or just not paying attention but either way it is such a bummer that I won’t be back again. The first time I assumed it was a result of being newly opened and given how good the food and drink was I booked them again for my actual birthday this weekend. It was so so horrible and I wish I never came. Again the food was great, though I was super bummed the ricotta toast that I came for and is still on their menu both online AND in person was changed to an avocado toast with no ricotta- super disappointing to do that bait and switch. The cocktail was excellent mine had passion fruit and it was the freshest passion fruit flavor I’ve ever had in a cocktail, tasted like the fresh fruit and I’m sure they made it from fresh passion fruits. I could’ve drunk 5 they were so good. However once again the seating was a bummer as the lady in the adjoined seat to us was fully in our space at no fault of her own, and their conversation was front and center in our table, as was ours for them; so zero privacy. However most disappointing of all was the completely inattentive service. For an upscale place with premium prices it is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable and it started my birthday celebrations on a sour note. It seems of the 2-3 waiters (including bartender) no one was fully assigned to our table or taking responsibility. In 1.5 hours they didn’t check on us once. We waited over 15min just to get menus and I had to flag him down. Even longer to take our order. Then I finished my drink and wanted another, they literally never came at this point it had been over 1 hour with no service until I literally had to yell across the entire restaurant to the man while he was at another table… that was my only choice other than fully getting up from our cramped seats and walking to the bar. Then, instead of coming to check on us and offering us refills like any normal bar, he simply yelled back that he would bring the check as if he was rushing us out after 1 round and not even bothering to try to be an actual waiter and see what we wanted. It was absolutely horrible especially for a birthday, which we had informed them of both in the reservation and again in person. I finally ordered my refill and again they never came. I had to flag him down for check and and then he took another 10min to bring it while we waited. It was a different man coming each time completely willy nilly and none of them ever actually checking on us. Bartender was very busy chatting up the couple at the bar, they were the only ones who received any service. There was zero apology for the wait or absolutely abysmal service, and no birthday celebration or candle. Drinks and food so excellent but I cannot return, and unfortunately George had similar bad service it is truly such a shame.

Outstanding vibes at this place. I went solo and sat at the bar where Nick made me some excellent drinks, and kept me entertained with some great chat as well. They have really good house cocktails, mostly interesting riffs on classics. The golden ticket is a delightful chocolaty Manhattan-esq drink that apparently is a nod to the buildings previous history as a chocolate factory. I didn’t try any of the food but the small plates all looked great on the menu. It wasn’t overly busy at 10pm on a Saturday night and the perfect place for a chilled nightcap.

Came here for a pre-dinner drink. Had the Japonaise, which was excellent! One of the best gin cocktails I’ve ever had. Our bartender Andreas was very friendly and kindly let me record him making our drinks. Would definitely come back! Really nice atmosphere and a fantastic spot for a cocktail or two. The ambience is sultry and the lighting sets a certain mood. Definitely worth a visit before or after dinner. Didn’t try the food, but the offerings looked promising.

Gorgeous plush decor and excellent cocktails. Unfortunately, the playlist music is really offensive to women! Generally decent appetizers and small plates but sadly I was given an ingredient I requested they avoid. I would have liked my questions answered about chimichurri sauce ingredients and why gnocchi was covered in something that tastes like cilantro rather than the advertised tarragon. Thank you for the replacement dish. Happy hour is available with complimentary snacks from 5:30 to 7:00 Wednesday through Friday.

Just wanted to share some quick feedback about my visit. The space is great, and the host who seated us was very professional. But after we sat down, no one introduced the menu, and we waited about 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. It also seemed like staff were going up and down between floors, which made it difficult to get service.

We decided to stop by the speakeasy bar before our dinner reservation at George, hoping for a unique and memorable cocktail experience. Unfortunately, the drinks didn’t live up to our expectations—while they were fine, they lacked that special touch or distinct flavour that you might hope for in a place which the specialty is drinks. On the bright side, the hors d’oeuvres were a delightful surprise—fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the visit. Overall, the bar had potential, but it didn’t quite deliver on the drink front for us.

Visited this cozy and cute little place for a girls night, feels very private with a cute little cocktail bar. Nick was great at curtaining new cocktails for us to try, I loved the mango martini. The small plates were also delicious. Overall, this place is worth a visit if you like to have an intimate cozy cocktail night!

I had the best experience - solo Saturday night. Had 2 small plates, and one a la carte George vegetarian dish, as well as both Secrette desserts and it was all exceptional! The staff were very warm and attentive. They helped in my choices and I couldn't have been happier. The mango mule tied it all together. Do not miss the gnocchi and the beigne. The decor and atmosphere, and leafing through the Hunt Slonem art book made for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
