SeeHotel Gotthard

We spent four delightful days/nights at the Seehotel Gotthard in Weggis. We had Rm. 209, with a balcony with a wonderful view of Lake Lucerne, Mt. Pilatus and the other surrounding mountains. The room itself was large, attractive, comfortable, well-appointed, and very clean. There were plenty of plugs for charging our devices. There was a coffee maker and tea kettle. The bathroom was large, modern and very recently renovated, and had its own balcony! The tub was huge, plenty of hot water, good water pressure. Breakfast was very good. We ate at both of the hotel's restaurants, and with perfect weather, our dinner on the terrace by the lake felt like being in a postcard. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room would be quite hot on a summer day, but there is a fan in the room, but this wasn't a problem in mid-September. The hotel is a short walk from the boat dock and bus stop, and the bus system is easy to use. The location is ideal for exploring Mt. Rigi. It's easy to take the bus/train or ferry to Lucerne. On a warm evening, voices from the restaurants can be heard with the balcony doors open, but this ends by 10:00.

This is a real gem of a hotel, in a gorgeous Swiss lake town. The staff was friendly, the room was comfortable (with a fabulous view of the lake), the breakfast was delicious. The hotel restaurant is also terrific--especially the grilled dishes. My wife and I spent a wonderful four days here, taking the boat to visit Luzern, taking the Rigi cable car up into the mountains, and driving to Mount Pilatus (a must see). You can hike through the day and then come back to take a swim in the clean, beautiful lake in the afternoon.

This hotel is the absolute best, and should be a priority for any trip to lake Lucerne. WOW! Amazing service, beautiful rooms (definitely select the lake view if you can). Also, be sure to save some money to eat at the restaurant one day of your stay—it is lovely, and also on the lake (of course). They have free kayak and paddle boards to use, alongside an amazing pool right on the lake. Lovely people, lovely hotel, best breakfast ever! Can’t say enough good things.

My stay at SeeHotel Gotthard was truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious, clean, with all the necessary amenities and a very comfortable beds. The hotel's location is perfect right next to the Lake Lucerne with a really beautiful view. You can enjoy relaxing by the pool and swimming in the lake, as well as great food. Dining at the restaurant was a delightful experience. Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. The staff were genuinely friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and convenient stay in Wggis!

Had such a lovely stay at this hotel! For those who may be wondering, it is not fancy but it is charming, has beautiful views, and comfortable. I was booked to stay in a junior suite (427) with my parents but due to a family emergency, my parents were sadly unable to join. The junior suite (all that was left while booking) would have been tight for 3 adults but we would have made it work — it is well situated, with a built-in closet structure dividing the main bedroom from the sitting area (and pullout couch). There are 7-8 windows in the room itself (!) with excellent views of the lake and mountains. Rooms are clean and bathroom was a good size. They provide soap and a combined shampoo/body gel (glad I brought my own shampoo + conditioner). I do wish rooms had irons but there’s a communal laundry room to iron your clothes on the 1st floor. I stayed for just 2 nights but could have easily stayed longer. I see that the AC unit is likely a new addition to the room and much appreciated. While it did cool down in the evenings, days were rather hot. The hotel staff is wonderful - everyone was so kind and accommodating. Breakfast was fabulous and a treat - so much fresh fruit, an assortment of eggs, cheese, meats, yogurts, cereal, breads + croissants, and their yummy homemade jam. Coffee was excellent too. I dined at their on-site restaurant both nights (do make reservations) - and loved the fresh grilled pike-perch, available on their summer (non-rainy) menu only. Lots of locals seem to dine there as well. I swam in the lake the day I arrived (it was glorious and so easy to access!). I also went for walks every night post-dinner and always felt safe as a single female (see sunset photos). Beautiful views whichever direction you go. 20% off tix to Mt. Rigi and other activities. My family and I will hopefully return to Weggis - it is so beautiful and serene, and we will certainly stay at this centrally-located hotel! I am rating the restaurant - unfortunately there is no separate restaurant on Google that can be found However the food has been of great quality for years, the terrace is exceptional and the service top

We had a reservation for a lunch meal which was preordered. Considering this fact, the service was poor, with extensive delays on meals and even one which was forgotten. Additionally, the food was served cold and posed an unhygienic image due to hair being found in 2 dishes. We sat in the sun for an hour before we took matters into our own hands and put an umbrella up ourselves.

Outstanding quality of food, especially the bbq steaks when weather permits, combined with friendly professional service. Highly recommended

So, I'm here in May and asparagus are in! Whatever you do, do not miss Gotthard's Cream of Asparagus soup! Pricey but worth every penny. Service was flawless.
