We were quite excited for this stay, since the reviews & photos looked quite spectacular - and to be fair, from our room, at least the scenery delivered. Much to our dismay, the rest of the hotel didn't. Apart from the restaurant, the interior reminded me of my old boarding school (rooms furnished like for a 16 year old, the flush from the toilette broken, soap dispensers empty etc.). Apart from the front outside, this hotel seems to have had its best days in the past. This is especially puzzling, since - from our own experience - these generation-long hotels are especially well kept & details more thought of. Not the case here, unfortunately. The breakfast was alright, but nothing to write home about (lots of fatty stuff & sugar, very little vegetables). Another negative was the service at the restaurant - not particularly bad, but rather inattentive & somewhat arrogant. Normally - at least in other hotels - one is being advised that the breakfast buffet will be cleared... but not removed 5 minutes before it's due to end. That is just rude! Furthermore, if you have a larger group for dinner & not check on them regularly (especially when it's not even that busy) & this group has to get it's own drinks at the bar, something is clearly amiss. For a location that pricy, the stay mostly was a let-down & not anything I will recommend. As for the rating, a 2,5 would be rather appropriate - but Google won't let me do that.
EDIT: I did write my criticism beforehand via email after our departure , but received no reaction - hence my review.
