I love See's Candy, but not Lynise who works at the Century City location. I was there on 12/15. Lynise, who is probably seasonal help, got the ghetto hoodrat award for customer service. She was very rude to an elderly customer before me. Then her rudeness spilled over on me. She rudely told me she was off the clock and was just helping out. I could not have cared less about her work schedule. I ordered dark, chocolate buttercream. I see her putting milk chocolate into the bag. I politely corrected her. She rudely said, "Oh!, so you want dark chocolate?" I said, "That's what I ordered." She then tossed the milk chocolate back into the drawer.
I then said, "Oh, you can keep that. Someone else will help me, and I will be emailing corporate." She chimed in as she shuffled to the backroom. I couldn't make out what she said, but I'm sure it reflected her ignorance. She never offered my daughter and me a sample either.
As an African American, I am 100% comfortable calling out ghetto hoodrat when I see it. Lynise = ghetto hoodrat.
The gentleman who helped us after Lynise made her exit was very polite and carried out our orders correctly. Just a suggestion to See's, I'm all for equal opportunity employment, but maybe you need to revisit your hiring requirements.
