Sadly this restaurant didn't meet expectations with so much competition within a small radius (across the street at the much better Vista Al Mar). This was our second time trying it and none of us would have ordered our dishes again. The service improved somewhat this time. And it helped that we sat in the terrace part, away from the indoor hubbub of waiters. The waiter almost brought out one entree with the appetizers. The anticuchos were not marinated enough and tough. No steak knife was brought out. The chaufa with langostinos barely had veggies and only 2 langostinos and a huge flat omelette instead of having the egg scrambled throughout the rice as is typical. The tacu tacu was lacking in flavor and there were barely any mariscos in the accompanying marisco salad. The restaurant was pretty empty so there was no excuse. All in all, a dismal fail.

I was looking for some good cerviche and Segundo Mueller was recommended. I was unfortunately disappointed. The ceviche ordered was recommended by the waiter as one of their specialties. The fish was very fishy and did not appear to be fresh. The octopus was very chewy, like bubblegum. Also ordered was a sushi roll, and while not as bad as the cerviche, the shrimp also did not taste fresh. I did not finish everything, asked for the check and will not be returning.

“Segundo Muelle” translated means Second Dock, but don’t harbor second thoughts about eating here. Somewhat consistent through its inception, its latest menu still holds the laurel and bay leaves above sea level. Traditional cocktails like algarrobina lack punch i.e. pisco so when ordering one needs to emphasize that one is not a child. The causa de cangrejo was so bad I took a star off: the canned crab overflowing in mayonnaise, laid atop of the mashed potato (it should have been rolled inside it) and the whole thing topped with an orange sauce rich in mayonnaise. Seafood is the specialty. When it comes to soups or bouillabaisse the portions can be skimpy relative to price. Stick to entrees the size of which will make appetizers unnecessary fillers. If you are looking for ambiance or tasteful decor this ain’t the place. The restroom is a mini chamber of horrors. But if you want to try flavorful traditional Peruvian seafood, with an eager to please staff, you will stay afloat. Second visit: March 2023: An improvement overall. Better presentation. Taste wise arroz borracho could be improved by squeezing a lime juice overall.

This restaurant never disappoints my tastebuds. The pulpo a la parrilla causas are mouthwatering and flavorsome. The downsides would be their overheated terrace (their frozen lemonade does the trick), 15+ min wait for a table during peak hours and their flimsy wifi.

You cannot go wrong with this restaurant. Delicious food every time! Fresh products and a good variety of typical Peruvian food. Beware that it can get pretty packed during peak times, so consider making a reservation or getting there with enough time to wait for a table.

A great little find in town near a bid shopping centre. Menu was quite diverse and very international. We had the sushi and it was so fresh and big serves. Service was good as they cater for those that only speak English. Very nice
