“Segundo Muelle” translated means Second Dock, but don’t harbor second thoughts about eating here. Somewhat consistent through its inception, its latest menu still holds the laurel and bay leaves above sea level.
Traditional cocktails like algarrobina lack punch i.e. pisco so when ordering one needs to emphasize that one is not a child.
The causa de cangrejo was so bad I took a star off: the canned crab overflowing in mayonnaise, laid atop of the mashed potato (it should have been rolled inside it) and the whole thing topped with an orange sauce rich in mayonnaise.
Seafood is the specialty. When it comes to soups or bouillabaisse the portions can be skimpy relative to price. Stick to entrees the size of which will make appetizers unnecessary fillers.
If you are looking for ambiance or tasteful decor this ain’t the place. The restroom is a mini chamber of horrors.
But if you want to try flavorful traditional Peruvian seafood, with an eager to please staff, you will stay afloat.
