After 5-days hike on the Kumano trail and reaching this last destination was rewarding. Seiganto-ji was nestle next to the hillside with plenty of greeneries surrounding it and the breathtaking Nachi waterfall at the back drop with clear blue skies. It is a view you would not miss. Plenty to see around the area if your legs can still walk. The serene Nachi Taisha Grand shrine is just a stone throw away with its own beauty.

Extreme architectural structure and surroundings made this a must visit spot in Japan. It’s a Centuries-old Buddhist temple with a 3-story red pagoda set against the backdrop of the Nachi Falls. You can witness of mesmerizing view of Nachi fall from here. I went there in November last year & it was in under instruction. I couldn’t enter there but outside of the temple was also outstanding.

Beautiful pagoda with the view of the stunning Nachi falls. There’s a possibility to arrive here directly via car (parking at the top is 800 yen in October 25, and 500 yen a little bit bellow and you can climb by foot)

What a beautiful architecture. By looking at the temple you can literally feel the heritage! Most impressive building in the whole area. Even more impressive than the famous Pagode next door. My favorite! You can also enter the temple for free. But please take no pictures from inside!

Well, somewhat lesser known than the neighboring Kumano Nachi Taisha, this is actually where the most famous picture that shows up on many travel sites and books, rivaling Mt Fuji, Kyoto Pagoda and many others. Directly on the Kudo, it clearly is a favorite even past emperors had come here to stay for periods of time. The large modern acommodation facilities shows it still has good followings. Even saw a nice full sized Lexus parked in the middle of the temple--probably some of the richest monks we have actually seen in Japan!?😂😂😂

A peaceful temple that I find even more impressive than Kumano Nachi Taisha. I spent some time watching pilgrims perform their rituals.

The hike can be steep but there is also a bus service but the bus doesn't operate often. The views are simply breathe taking!

A Buddhist shrine nearby Kumano Nachi Taisha. The two used to be a used together, a Shinto and Buddhist pairing, though now they are separate. There are nice statues here, omomori, and a stamp for your Kumano Kodo stamp booklet.
