Seikoro Ryokan (Kyoto Prefecture, Japan) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Situated a short walk from Kyoto’s Kamo River, Seikoro Ryokan would be a fine choice for anyone new to the traditional Japanese style of lodging. Guests enjoy comfortable rooms with traditional tatami flooring and futon bedding which is whisked away in preparation for breakfasts (and later, dinners) served in-room, in the kaiseki style. Ten to fifteen Japanese courses, including broiled and raw fish, rice, pickles and soups, are served with exquisite attention to preparation and detail, bookending days spent visiting the rich cultural sites of Kyoto. Seikoro’s onsen, separated by gender, further imparts the heritage feel of Seikoro’s boutique accommodations, as does its historic architecture, soft lighting, and ikebana." - Tablet Hotels

We just finished our stay at Seikoro Ryokan. It was hands down the best experience of our visit to Japan and I highly recommend it to anyone staying in Kyoto. The hospitality, care, and overall execution was perfect. Our hosts and attendant were kind, professional, and saw to every detail with perfection. We loved our room. We loved our Japanese breakfast. We loved the people who became part of our lives during our stay. I cannot wait to return to Kyoto to see our friends at Seikoro Ryokan.

Wow that was incredible!! The room was amazing ( clean, big and pretty ) they have traditional mattresses but they also have beds. The bathrooms are traditional Japanese bahtroom ( shower, toilets) the staff there is lovely and so kind( when you leave for the day they continue to wave at you until you cannot see you anymore) the food there is so good ( for dinner you get traditional Japanese food which is so good and for breakfast you can choose between western style or Japanese style and of r the last day we got a traditional hot pot ) you normally eat in your room but we got a special room to eat because we where 5. The y really take care of food allergies and every thing there is really clean. They have communal bath if you want r to try and I remember that they where not that much people in the womans one. Overall it was perfect in very way!!

What an unbelievable experience. The service was the best I’ve had in the WORLD. The people are so kind, they wait on you hand and foot. The building is a traditional almost 200 year old building and experience is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Walkability was really good too. Would highly recommend. Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness. We will be back one day!! -From USA

It is quite pricey but service is great 👍 Lived in Japan for two years long time ago so was rusty on the Japanese as I'm in the UK now so might have had some mis-understanding. But our understanding of Japanese is fine 👀🫣😬 if spoken slowly. Was in travel mode so we didn't explain ish. We stayed in room 16 and had dinner and breakfast there. Would recommend 👍 our room attendant is very good 👍😊! Very friendly place 🌟

The room was laid out very nicely and it was very traditional. The breakfast was also amazing. There was no noise at all and we got amazing sleep. The cleanliness was brilliant overall a very good hotel.

Amazing way to finish our stay in Kyoto! Our family only stayed one night, but the attention to detail and service were impeccable. We had the kaiseki dinner and traditional Japanese breakfast and both were so inventive and delicious. We truly felt like we were staying with family - Hiro was so kind and pleasant. Wish we could have stayed longer, highly recommend!
