the price for the family room is RM 500, and there is no aircond. The glass wall does not help with any sound barrier. The bakery was open until 1 am plus and it opens at 7. 30am, nobody slept at all. The concept and design is very creative, but not practical. so many mosquitoes. the toilet is not pretty. they should at least redo the ceiling and the floor. talk about over charging. the location is great . but not the price. overall rating 2/5. 1 for location. 1 for creativity. the cleaner never mop the floor. your feet will be black. the whole place no furniture just bed and curtains. the water pipe. using those old copper pipes...and when open and close the tap the whole pipe will be shaking vigorously... as if it will fall down. the place open air concept but there are so many outdoor aircond compressor surronding the open air space...you got to be kidding me !

a two-night visit and had a mixed experience overall. The hotel boasts an excellent location, which was a major plus for my stay. It was conveniently situated near key attractions and eateries, making it easy to explore the area. However, I did encounter some challenges with regards to noise levels during my stay. The constant footsteps and chatter from other guests in the hallway proved to be a significant disturbance. Additionally, the noise from the restaurant, while lively and bustling, did hinder my ability to get a good rest. Despite these issues, the staff were attentive and accommodating, which contributed positively to my overall impression. In conclusion, prime location and a dedicated staff, but potential guests should be aware of potential noise disturbances, particularly during peak hours. If you're a light sleeper, it might be worth considering alternative options.

Wasn’t easy to find parking at this area unless midnight time. Beware that the hotel is haunted. Outside toilet is cleaned and inside room toilet not clean and smelly. Bedsheets smell musty. Good thing is located in the middle of concubine lane.

I have been a fan of Sekeping retreats and had always wanted to visit the one in Ipoh. However, it appears that it has been taken over by Dreamscapes. The place still retains the charming, rustic architecture of Seksan, and its location right at Concubine Lane and artsy KongHeng, next to Plan B, is quite convenient with everything within walking distance, including the Ipoh train station, just a quick 10-minute walk away. I regretted booking the twin room with a shared bathroom because, while it is the cheapest option available, it lacks in quality and gives off a rather eerie vibe, almost like something out of a District 9 movie. I'm not sure if the prices are truly worth it. The room barely shown in the Agoda picture is indeed the cheapest option meant only for sleeping. It comes with two wall hooks for clothes and a towel, but no other amenities. The air conditioning works well, though, and keeps the room very cold. The lighting is dim. The overall condition of the place is disappointing. The floors creak when you walk, and the room walls have visible mold and dirt. Being made of chipboard, the rooms don't feel secure for leaving belongings, and noise easily travels through the thin walls. The small windows at odd locations and makeshift curtains don't provide adequate privacy. The shared bathroom has only three cubicles, two without proper air ventilation making it stuffy and uncomfortable. There are gaps at the metal doors which can be peeped through. Additionally, one of the bathrooms has an uncovered opening at the side that lacks privacy. The bathroom facilities need improvement, with a broken bidet holder and no toilet roll provided inside the bathroom. While I appreciate raw, rustic places, this one appears poorly maintained. Rustic charm is one thing, but when it becomes rundown, it loses its appeal and artistic value. Perhaps other rooms at the retreat might be better, but my experience in this particular room left me feeling uneasy and unsafe, especially as a female using the shared bathroom

I enjoyed my stay here immensely. The bed is huge and the mattress was not too soft. Most importantly, the linen was crisp and clean. I love my room. It was HUGE! My favourite aspect was the large windows from wall to wall and almost floor to ceiling. If you open the blinds, you get all the natural light one needs. Of course, being right smack in the middle of the touristy spot of Ipoh town can be both a blessing and a curse. Everything is within walking distance (most of the awesome bars) but it can be noisy as well.

Last minute decision to stay 1 more night in Ipoh, could get our favourite hotel so we go for alternative. Found this sekeping Kong heng and based on the pictures shown and strategic location, we decided to book it. No doubt it is a very instagramable place, at the centre of 1 of the famous tourist attraction but that’s it. Unable to sleep well because it is noisy the whole way, from water pipe running noise, floor cracking sound from floor above, steel structure noise whenever ppl walking up and down staircase and walkway. The room is quite basic. I could have just treat it as a place to sleep but really couldn’t sleep well at all. So if I have other choice, I will never go back again.

Stayed in the largest room as a group of 4. I spent the night in the loft bunk ; what I didn't realize was that the light right outside the door shone into the top tier of this room right through the glass partition at the top of the walls. Another friend who was sleeping in the queen bed in another room had a leak drip on her bed all night long. As this building is very old, sound carried through the building (noise from the staircase / hallway / courtyard / street outside) and we definitely lacked sleep that night. Pros - great central location and service. There was also a swimming pool, though that required us to go to a different block.

Sound insulation so bad as the wall are cement board only, felt the building structure vibration whenever heavy lorry passed by. Common bathroom water closet was dirty and has algae somemore. Not recommend for family, except adventurous couple.
