The 6 Best Hostels in Cusco (Updated 2025)

"Located in the historic center just a few blocks from Plaza Mayor, this Selina is a go-to for digital nomads: it offers curated local artwork, a co-working space with unlimited tea and coffee, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bar/restaurant that hosts regular events. Dorms are comfy with personal reading lights and lockers (the Plaza de Armas location has privacy curtains), and there are private rooms as well — if you're a remote worker, it's a solid choice." - Matthew Kepnes

My friend and I were traveling in Peru and we can't recommend Selina enough, especially because of how helpful and lovely Chris was. When we arrived, while we didn't like the initial room we were going to get, Chris helped us by taking us to two alternate rooms. Ultimately, we took the special room upstairs, with a beautiful view of the city. Chris was also incredibly helpful in supporting us with our tours and took urgency and care when we needed help with our baggage.

I stayed here after I returned from Machu Pichu. It was my first hostel experience in South America. Everything was perfect. Staff are really helpful and kind. Especially Frank at night shift helped me much. I will stay here next year when I come to Cusco for Inca Trail. Thank you guys, thank you Frank. You are doing really perfect.

My husband and I chose Selina Plaza de Armas for two nights of our Peru trip last month and it was a win on many levels. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind, informative, and accommodating. The location is great - near lots of incredible restaurants and coffee shops. (The bottom floor had its own restaurant with great food as well, perfect for a quick breakfast or late night snack.) The price was extremely affordable for the quality of stay. Our room was clean, warm, and we very much enjoyed the hot showers after two days of hiking and exploring. We were able to laundry half way through and they took care of our clothing with care. We even had a few items that had very specific cleaning instructions and the service they use handled it well. In addition to providing directions and advice on things to do in Cusco, this hotel also works with a tour agency that can get you to Rainbow Mountain, Moray, and more. We ended up doing the 7 lakes of Ausangate which was incredible. We would like to thank Frank especially for being such a kind friend and wonderful source of information for us. Thanks for making this experience great! We'll be back!

Great location; very happy with having a restaurant inside. They arranged taxi from and to airport. Having a storage for luggage was great. Young people atmosphere. Only a little loud at night when had very early wake up times for tours- nothing ear plugs couldn’t handle.

Our stay here was really cool and practical. The place is a unique hostel/hotel hybrid. We got a hotel like room, but the common areas felt social like a hostel. It was nice and clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. All the tours we did met at a plaza, less than a 2 minute walk away. The food was good, and they'll pack food for you if you have to leave early, like 4am for a tour. We'd definitely stay here again, and will look for similar places if we travel.

We did with my BF all the Selina in Peru and this one is from far the worse. It is impossible to sleep with the noise. Techno Music starts at 9AM... We went to the reception to ask to be moved, the employee looked like annoyed and told us that was not possible as we reserve only for 1 night. There are plenty of hotels in the area with better room, price, and services, so go somewhere else if you want to rest even a little ☺️ big deception ! Last thing, we reserve this hotel for their co-working area. However it can only be reserved for the day not less and it is expensive (28 USD).

Was very disappointed in our 2 week stay here. We chose the Selina (now Socialtel) for its community, coworking space, and WiFi. Unfortunately, we had an issue with 2 of these 3 things. First and foremost - there wasn’t any community. The employees did not facilitate any activities like a normal hostels. I joined a WhatsApp group for events, only to not receive any messages. Secondly - the cowork was not included in the price of our stay. We booked a private room, so our stay was quite expensive already, and on top of that, I had to pay 28/soles per day to work in the cowork. On top of that, the cowork is right next to the restaurant area, where the same songs are playing 5x a day. Lastly, the first few days in the cowork didn’t even have its own WiFi network to use. All in all, this is a fine place to stay for a few nights. If community and coworking is what you want, this is not it.
