When I booked this place I was very excited especially from the pictures I had seen online. I did have a cute and funny encounter with the receptionist at check in, but that is where it all ended. Once I got to my room it looked nothing like the pictures online - I booked a private room. It was very small and it was not clean - same goes for the bathroom closest to my room. Let’s put a pin in this. My biggest issue is I booked this place for two weeks and it quickly became my biggest regret because the staff almost seemed annoyed that guests stayed there. I can’t quite put my finger on it. They aren’t blatantly rude but they aren’t friendly as you would expect people in the hospitality industry to be. This is isn’t an American putting their expectations on people but when I’m walking up to the bar to order an espresso - the staff would be engaged in conversation and literally wouldn’t even acknowledge me, would not stop their conversation to greet me or to help me, it was the strangest thing. I found the staff to be very unpleasant and unprofessional. I felt unwanted and I actually stopped eating there most days and spent my money elsewhere. There are other things I could say about this place but it really just seems like the staff is young and just want to come to work to party. Oh it’s also very noisy all the time. I think the only people that take their job serious is the overnight crew security and the young lady. I can’t say that I would recommend this place. I don’t think I will stay at this chain in any other countries I visit in the coming months.

Great hostel with a fun atmosphere! Everything was clean, the staff was friendly, and the location was perfect. Just a heads-up—music was pretty loud until midnight, so if you’re looking for an early night’s sleep, keep that in mind. But if partying is your vibe, this is definitely the place for you!

We stayed in a family room for 4 and these were the perfect accommodations! We were able to get a wonderful massage on site with Oscar (highly recommend) and Chris at the front desk was helpful and patient with us. The WiFi was strong and accessible through the property. The food at the restaurant was good, but did have some limited availability. Overall a great spot!

Amazing place and great atmosphere! A lot of people that are open to connect in the common room, and the rooms for sleeping are very clean, modern and comfortable. The service was amazing too, Chris got me everything I needed and has all the information about getting around in San José. I didn't work remotely from here myself, but they do have co-working spaces that seem to be very nice. The location is also easily accessible if you travel with (taxi)drivers. The food at the restaurant is nice too, so I don't know much about the restaurants in the neighbourhood.

Only stayed for a night but very much enjoyed the design and the friendly people here ..also super nice staff and yummy cocktails! Clean modern beds and big clean showers ..absolutely recommend for the price. Books to share, soccer table, couches, food till 21:00.

Best staff: Ashley and Oscar. Worst: the woman who checked me in had a tired and impatient attitude. I’m glad I didn’t see her face after that day. I might have overcome my social anxiety just to call her out. You don’t get annoyed with people who stutter or struggle to communicate, especially when you know there’s a language barrier. Ashley was so helpful when on my first day I got the travel equivalent of stage fright and struggled to speak at all. She helped me figure out how I would get breakfast for my early morning excursion and also told me where the nearest supermarket was because the one next-door was essentially just a very expensive convenience store. I was only able to do the 10 minute free massage with Oscar, but it was the most efficient massage I’ve ever had. All kinks in my back from carrying a heavy duffel bag everywhere? Gone. The tension in my neck? Gone. I finally felt my shoulders able to go back to the normal position. I don’t remember the name of people on the restaurant staff, but they were the best part of the experience . The food included with my room was excellent, and it made it so that I wouldn’t have to buy food at all for the rest of the day; it was that filling. However, someone on the hotel staff stole my chocolate, almost $30 worth of it. I know it was a staff member because no one else was in the lobby when I was picked up. The staff were having a team meeting in the restaurant. As someone on a budget, I did actually cry when I realized it was gone. Also they never fixed the clogged shower drain.

The location of the hostel is excellent, situated in a safe and convenient area that made exploring the city a breeze. I highly recommend this hostel to any traveler seeking a comfortable, friendly, and enjoyable stay. It's a perfect choice for anyone looking for quality accommodations at an affordable price. I can't wait to return!
