Extremely well-located in the cluster of buildings right near the lifts. Selkirk provides many room options, ski lockers & storage, a spa (for additional fees), lukewarm tub (not hot enough to be called that - and no jets) and luker-warm pool. The service at the front desk is impeccable -endlessly accommodating.
The rooms (we had 2Q) are ample in size, the bathroom works fine (ready hot water), and storage adequate (hangers don't work off the bar). A clothes bureau is much appreciated, and towels are plentiful. Bed is maybe a mite soft (my son's complaint but not mine), with lots of thick fluffy pillows. The 100% wool blanket kept me warm. The only complaint is the noise from the slope groomers, which start up in the middle of the night and can be heard in the rooms.
The coffee is a low-light. The Lodge provides packages of ground coffee, which are way too big for the tiny foam cups they supply. The bag of beans soak up half the cup of water (even if you squeeze the very hot trapped coffee out by hand). A lot of effort for not much coffee! I asked for a big mug (which they provided) and used 2 packages for stronger coffee. Usually ended up with 2/3 of a mug of coffee. But of course you can go outside and buy your cuppa...
The multiple restaurants are a highlight at this mountain location, esp since taking the bus to town is a bit of a hassle (you gotta take 2 buses which don't coordinate on their schedules, and the last bus back up the mountain at 5:30 pm means a taxi if you are in town for dinner). Unless you have your own ride, of course. The food on offer is really good, and won't break the bank. Pucci's bar is reputed to be crowded, but mid-week, it was pretty empty. Ditto for the Powderhound Pizza joint (excellent pizzas).
