"While big-city venues often take all the shine, the family-owned Semoran Skateway in Central Florida feels like a true time warp. The standout events hosted here are monthly Derby nights—they honor the sport that captured suburban hearts in the 1930s and continue to draw local audiences."

The staff is so rude. Okay so I had stitches in my knee right? I decided to go roller skating for my school party and they were playing a game and my friend was like come on let's go join so we went to go join. The lady yelled at me and said you can't join mid game.... She had just started the game then I'm already sitting down with stitches in my knee and I can't get up. My friend is trying to help me but I still can't get up and she's still yelling at me. They're so rude. I haven't gone back since.

Google
not very pleased with this place at all for a couple different reasons, the first being i was there to attend a birthday for a disabled child that is 100 % wheelchair bound the place was made aware of the child's disabilities an obviously when the staff tended to the party they clearly saw she was in a wheelchair, however the party went on ,,long story short they made the mom stop pushing her around the rink ,mind you mom signed a waiver for all of them ,,apparently the manager said it was to safe ,even though the child was safely strapped in her chair ,,she was very safe, but nope had to stop ,i guess the refunded the party ,cause they knew they were wrong ,, but second issue was i parked in private parking spot ,mind u all 3 of these spaces were empty ,,I'm handicapped an can not walk far ,all 2 handicapped spaces were taken ,, so i put my plaque up an went in,, later on i hear my tag # being read saying i was parked in wrong spot,, so i go find staff an tell her my situation, she says sorry ,, i said who's it reserved for? she says the owner,, i said a fowl word an said that's crazy there's more owner spots than handicapped ,, ,also when i moved my car there was not one car in any of those spots ,but i had to move my car ,,i really felt this place could careless about its guests

Google
It's good but the staff could be friendlier. When I went to make a song request the two teenagers in the booth were talking and they glared at me as if I was doing something wrong. Then, they both said OK even though they CLEARLY couldn't hear me and I never heard my song. I kept telling them once every five minutes, "please play the song ___" but they never did. Also, the song was completely appropriate, it was Dance Monkey. Plus this has happened multiple times. The staff is unfriendly and ignorant. Also, ONE TIME THERE WAS A ROACH ON THE RINK!

Google
Really wanted to take my kids here for family night where kids can feel safe. My friend told me her kid was hit by an adult skater and received a concussion! They didn’t do anything about it!? Why are you letting adults skate recklessly where children should be having a good time.

Absolutely one of the Best experiences my family and I have had in a long time, we celebrate my son’s birthday there last night which we choose the VIP glow room and it was so cool 👍 our host was AMAZING !!! She was very attentive to us and did a fantastic job. The public was great . Good vibes 🥰Thank You for making my boys day special.

Google
Had a b- day party there for my 7yr old daughter and 7 friends, you only get the party room for 45 minutes .. So, it’s slam food down your face, and hurry up and do birthday cake etc.. $270 for all- since the rink is only open for 2.5 hrs, that is more than $100/ hr. And a dedicated host that will bring you the pizza and a few pitchers of soda, all for just a $35 tip that they include. Save your money and bring your kid somewhere else, what a waste. Here comes the canned response of “ I’m sorry that your experience fell short, we strive for bla bla bla…”

Google
We had a blast taking Saturday morning skate classes at Semoran Skateway! The prices are reasonable, the equipment is nice and the rink is smooth. Also, music was great. Friendly staff and the lessons were helpful. After lessons, there are fun games for the kids....and adults! Highly recommended family fun.

Google
They get 2 stars bc it’s the only place to skate in Orlando but the most unwelcoming place to be on a Friday night. The patrons are rude and have no patience for someone who is just there to have fun. If you’re not a professional skater, don’t bother. Staff (except for the 2 girls in the waiver room and the guy at the food stand) weren’t nice either. They expect you to understand the process, how to check out skates, etc. honestly will not be back on a Friday night. Hope to give it another chance when they aren’t busy with rude and aggressive patrons.

Yelp
Semoran Skateway is a local legend that has been around for years! A skating rink with music, games, and a snack bar. Fun at its simplest level! Come here to roller skate or roller blade. You can bring your own skates or pay for a rental. The rental skates are a bit worn but they work just fine. They have plenty of them in case you need to switch them out. The website has their monthly calendar. Depending on the day/time, the prices and schedule change. We like to come on Saturday mornings or afternoons. My son's school does a skate night occasionally! It's nice that they partner with the community. Keep in minds that any outside food or drinks are not allowed. Not even a water bottle but they have water fountains available. The snack bar serves up good old fashioned favorites: popcorn, pretzels, and cold drinks. On some mornings and afternoons they have fun activities that they do, such as races, Hokey Pokey, and the dice game. Good way to take a break from the skating and do something fun together. They have "Learn to Skate" days which are included in your admission if you are a new skater. We see lots of birthday parties here too. I hope Semoran Skateway continues to be a place for family and friends to enjoy some good old fashion skating fun for years to come!

Krystal J.

Yelp
Had a blast !!! Lots of people there on a Saturday which is expected but still a great time. There is a smaller area for little ones and those learning to skate before heading to the large floor. Music was on point and snack bar had good selections. Pizza, pretzels , nachos , soft drinks , icees , churros , candy , ice cream Great time to just burn some energy , listen to good music and have some fun

Lisa W.

Yelp
My favorite skating rink. I have never had a bad time at this place. The rink is large, with an additional kids/beginner rink. There are video games outside the rink area and a good sized snack bar. The skates are do it your self and they have pre tightened skates for beginners/children. You are welcome to bring your own skates and avoid paying the extra price for renting skates. There skates are quite worn, but they work great. The price for a session is super affordable!! I went for a Tuesday family skate for only $5pp and $3 skate rental. The prices in the snack bar are also great. You can even get a picture of ice water with 4 cups for $1.! They have lots of time for open skating, a few times where they stop for races and games. The people who work there are friendly and the DJ plays great music for skating. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a fun family friendly activity.

Chris W.

Yelp
I've been skating here with my kids weekly for over five years, supporting the rink in buying skates and parts. It's been a great way to bond, but the DJ and music choices have been disappointing and inconsistent. Today's DJ seemed inexperienced, playing a personal playlist rather than skate-friendly songs. I understand birthday parties want Taylor Swift, but regulars like us, who drive 40 minutes and pay weekly, would appreciate a good groove song peppered in. The first 30 minutes of music made it hard to find a good rhythm-- felt more like a karaoke night than a skating session. This has become a trend over the past few years with fill-in DJs. Sadly, we left after 30 minutes today because the music wasn't enjoyable. I hope they reconsider their playlists for all patrons.

Dhalloween C.

Yelp
Took my granddaughter. It was nice . Nothing great . I skate so , I know a great rink, this was just on.

Melody L.

Yelp
We went here on Saturday afternoon for open skate for my birthday. We had a blast! We brought our own rollerskates. We enjoyed the music and the retro rollerskating rink. Con: The entry process took way too long. Too many lines! All adults had to fill out an electronic waiver on a tablet. Then we had to get in line for an employee to check we did it and give us a paper waiver card. Then we had to get in another line to pay. It took 10-15 minutes for this process. Is there no way to make this faster or all electronic?

Lisa K.

Yelp
Stepping into Semoran Skateway is like stepping into the 80s. It's just nostalgic and makes you feel like you can fly laps around the rink with endless energy! They have varied hours so make sure you check the website before going if you are free skating. I was there for a birthday party and the birthday host was attentive and it was well organized. There are arcade style games around the rink and kids can earn tickets for prizes, so be prepared to shell out so extra cash for your kids for that. This rink also has a smaller practice rink for beginner skaters to try.

Rajesh M.

Yelp
I was so excited to visit this place, give back to the child within a little. But my expectation of fun was destroyed almost immediately(within the first 30min). This gentleman, who I was later told is a former employee began to follow, scream at and harass me, causing me to leave and cut my loses. Over a 2 hour period I had 3 negative interactions with him. As I was leaving he was talking to employees and what looked like a manager/owner giving me the impression that the behavior is condoned. Every employee was fantastic, full of smiles and good energy but your "former" employee ruined my experience.

Laurel P.

Yelp
We always have fun at Semoran Skateway. Both my kids have learned to skate here. Great music, and a variety of prizes for the kids.

Chris L.

Yelp
Classic skate rink with everything you would expect. One bonus of Semiramis Skateway is the small kids rink that is separated from the main rink. The kids rink has a nice hand rail for those who are just learning. The main rink has shown its age but you are not going to notice if you are using rental skates. Other thinks to note are DJ, video games, snack bar, creepy old guy dancing in the middle of the rink... all the classic skating rink highlights. They are big on signing a legal agreement before entering, which might be the only the only thing that has changed since the 80s. All in all we had a great time. If it is still Covid please note this is not the kind of place that people have masks on even at the peak.

Toni D.

Yelp
Kiddie skate lessons on Saturday mornings for $10 and parents $5. You can stay until open skate 10am-noon.

Michele S.

Yelp
Excellent place.. clean, safe, good parking and people. Really good music and they play clean music. Great staff good food. I've had a lot of birthday parties there it's worth it.

Amy M.

Yelp
My daughter & I had a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived on Sunday 3/20/22 during the matinee skating time. When you first arrive you have to go to the waiver station, then present your photo identification to the attendant. The cost was $18.72 for the both of us which included quad skates. The options for skates are "Quad Roller Skates" or "Inline Speed Skates". For $0.50 cents you can rent a locker. You pick out your own skates without having to ask an attendant which is amazing & easy! My daughter is a beginner skater which they have a designated section for beginners! We will defiantly be coming back here again!

Airis M.

Yelp
The lack of communication and professionalism from the staff in handling this situation left a sour taste in my mouth and made me question whether I would return to that establishment in the future. If I could give this place a 0 star I would. Unprofessional and irresponsible staff. My sister went to this place to skate and turns out someone stole her shoes , not only the staff didn't do anything but also laughed at her face saying inappropriate comments like " Haha someone stole your sh^t" . Made her walk barefoot outside and blame her for what happened to her . Didn't do anything to help at all , in addition to this my sister is diabetic and this cause her anxiety to spike causing her to have her blood sugar levels to drop. Very low of their parts so if you don't want your personal items to be stolen and be blame for it then don't come to this place ! This type of treatment can range from rude and dismissive behavior to outright neglect of my needs as a customer. This place smell putrid !

Sem S.

Yelp
We've been coming here for a few years and the concession service has only gotten worse. One pepperoni pizza and three ices came to $36.21. after 30 minutes we asked when the pizza would be ready they are just now putting it into the oven. When we placed the order and paid for it we were told thats the second order in line. 40 minutes later we are still waiting.

Matthew B.

Yelp
It was very crowded and my friends and I had a blast zooming around skating. The music was ok and there were tables around the snack bar. I've been places that get the skates for you ;so, I didn't like finding the skates and too much red tape in the check in process. Invasion of privacy in my opinion. I know why people go there but I would prefer a different skating rink for a special event!

Justin S.

Yelp
Everyone should appreciate the skateway as a place that will never be created in our era. I went last night for rhythm night: awesome music, great skating, and everyone was friendly on the rink. I fell several times but people were always courteous. The staff is young and enthusiastic, the skate shop is one of a kind (you can't buy skates like these anywhere in Orlando) and unlike a previous criticism from another reviewer, I was let in with no hassle or charge to access the skate shop to buy my skates prior to returning later to skate. I encourage everyone to go and preserve a dying breed of entertainment and culture.

Nicole R.

Yelp
Military discount is free admission They accept apple pay Very clean Lockers Photo area is too cute Good music If it was closer to my house, I'd come here every week

Rose R.

Yelp
What should you do on a Saturday Nite? Well definitely come here! This is the absolute best place to come roller skate! On Saturday Nites they play Old School Jamz music. Other nights they have different themes. The atmosphere is great for kids and adults. There is a beginner area in the back of the rink so you can practice on. The establishment is clean and renovated. They have a great area with seating and tables when they serve snacks and drinks. There are lockers to rent to store your personal items. The skate shop has an excellent selection of name brand skates and skating related items to purchase. There is also a skating school where they offer classes. Highly recommend for a fun time!

Karen M.

Yelp
First time here. It was fun. You have to get your own skates (as opposed to having someone getting them for you) which we figured out on our own but still very fun and they had a thanksgiving deal too

Allison P.

Yelp
Rude staff. Arbitrarily confiscating some people's food and water but not others. Told me I should have hid my water bottle from them on the way in. I've seen at least a dozen water bottles in here, half a dozen starbucks, chick fil a etc. Also, the games only work some of the time. They often give invalid card errors.

Brian H.

Yelp
Only criticism is that there should be something more to help adult first time skaters ....

Anna B.

Yelp
This skating rink has taken a turn for the worst. The workers are very rude to both kids and adults--poor customer service overall. They charge $.25 for a small styrofoam cup of water and don't give refills... of WATER. The skates smell terrible, and the location is dirty overall. If you are looking for a pleasant experience, seek elsewhere.

Elle E.

Yelp
Ambiance: 8 out of 10; Staff: 4 out of 5; Price: $ our of $$$$ Covid Safety: Masks required, enforced. Went here this last weekend and had a full blown blast. On the weekends they have matinee prices from 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm. The D.J. was really good in varying the music so that everyone could enjoy their type of music. Staff was super nice. Call in advance to see if they have birthday parties booked that day. Birthday parties weren't huge distractions but they do clear the rink a couple of times for them. So, try to sync your breathers with the birthday festivities and you'll be fine. Looking into some of their skate classes, I'll keep ya posted!! Safe space for people of color.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
I really really wish I could give ZERO STARS. A friday night open skate was a HOT MESS. No one wearing a mask and no one enforcing. Over 200 people in the rink and in the beginners rink as well. The advanced skaters were constantly tapping my back to push me and making comments I was being too slow. The halls were soo crowded there was not a moment I was even 2 feet away from someone. I spent $12 for admission and skates and frankly thats all they cared for. How can someone learn to skate and find a new hobby when newbies are looked down on and faster skaters push them down. Its sad to see a rink ive been going to since middle school has turned into this money scheme.

Blair B.

Yelp
The first skating rink I've ever been to with NO WALLS AROUND THE RINK. With kids (or even clumsy adults) a short wall to grab onto or slow yourself down is essential. Our school had a skate night tonight and a kid ended up in the ER with a broken wrist - this place just isn't safe! I'll stick to skating rinks with walls to grab onto in the future, I don't want my kids getting hurt and the kids rink was far too small.

Carson R.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst Kids Birthday experience ever!! Our whole party showed up at the scheduled party time. They had a 30 min line for all of our guest to come in. We had a party room for 45 minutes which was ready 15 minutes late with no explanation or apology. The customer service is absolutely horrible here from Mgmt to the party host! Dirty, unsanitary with no organization what so ever! We spoke with mgmt after the party and they blamed our whole negative experience on us!! The owner really needs to focus on taking accountability when the service is horrible and they didn't uphold their contractual agreement for our daughter's birthday party. The manager said that we had to pay full price and tip before they would give our drivers license back! Do not book a birthday party here unless you want to pay a premium price for a absolute horrible experience!!

Hailey C.

Yelp
We went to a birthday party there. They didn't bring out the cake. They didn't serve the pizza. They didn't host anything. My sister in law spent hundreds on the VIP package and they literally placed the pizza on the table and walked out. We didn't even know it was there til 20min later. And they were the last party of the day and the pizza was cold and NOT like it should be. I honestly think they just gave left over pizza from what didn't sell. I would never suggest anyone spending money on a party here.

Thora H.

Yelp
Very experienced staff for buying or upgrading your skates. Good vibe! Nice people!

Shaunda H.

Yelp
Came for skating party for the kids. It was their first time skating. It was very clean and skating rink was big. Like that at the back they have a area for those who are not great skaters. Only thing wish they had a wall for when you on the regular rink. Because if fall you falling right on everything and everyone standing on the sidelines. But other then that it was nice rink.

Andi P.

Yelp
4 stars because it is so gosh darn fun! (And totally worth me busting my ass in front of a bunch of strangers.) I felt a rush of childish adrenaline pump through me as I walked into the skateway. Was there a sign on the wall that specified that belly tops and pants hanging under the butt are not allowed? Yes. Were there multiple garbage cans lining the path inside with the words "GUM HERE" painted on them? You bet your buns there were. We each paid $9 to get in and for the skate rental. There is a room where you pick out your skates and you can leave your shoes. Otherwise, there are lockers where you can pay 50 cents to store your purses, shoes, etc. We started skating on the smaller training rink where wobbly skaters were finding their sea legs. I would have stayed there all night but felt bullied by my friends to join the cool kids on the main rink. In hindsight, this may have been premature. Yes, I fell, but in my defense one fall in 4 hours ain't bad! The more experienced skaters hang around the outer edges with the newbies sticking to the center. The DJ was spinning fly tunes (not contemporary, but great nonetheless) and occasionally announced a special skate round where only speed skaters/shuffle skaters/backwards skaters/etc could skate. The best part of this is that it was really fun watching them from the seats! Overall, I don't think I've laughed so hard and had as much fun (with no drinks!). Make sure to go on Sunday night for adults night (16+).

Alexander E.

Yelp
They are so amazing and helpful. I was able to pick up skating super quickly. My skates had an issue and they completely fixed them for me.

Mary A.

Yelp
This place is classic, but even these spots should eventually update. Bathrooms need some serious attention. Everything is very " throw back" which is cool, if your expectations are just to skate and not really anything else. Everything seems a bit out-dated, which is fine if it was also clean. Still had a great time, felt like I was a kid again in the groovy room and on skates. It's pretty reasonably priced too. No alcohol. I get why, but I also understand why adults wouldn't want to go hang out there all night without that option.

Caleb N.

Yelp
The rink was nice, looks just like all the other local skating rinks. The customer service wasn't too great we upgraded to inline skates and there was no one the booth to give it to us. Also when we called the price was different on the phone and that was kind of annoying, but roller skating is roller skating and if you love it this is still a good rink to go too.

Derek E.

Yelp
The wife and I went there last night to buy 2 sets of bones Swiss bearings which is about $270.00. The wife and I are in our sixties not kids. The brain dead robot cashier wouldn't let us in unless we paid $10.00 each to enter the building. So she lost $270.00 in sales because of $ 20.00 great business decision.

Teresa T.

Yelp
Clean, well kept, skates in good condition and hassle free entry, getting and returning skates. DJ IS REALLY GOOD and keeps to the night's theme very well!! Nice, positive crowd. We had blast!!!

Lena Z.

Yelp
The staff at this establishment only accommodates speed and trick skaters. Staff continuously harassed skaters that were clearly just there for a good time doing something they clearly don't do often. Definitely not a good place to go if you're still learning how to skate or are an average skater. Throughout the night, they give lots of private skate time for such skaters leaving the rest of us average skaters sitting there and just watching. This establishment is also not Covid safe AT ALL. From using THE SAME stamp on each guest, to not staggering guests during entering time and having everyone crowded in the entrance and the skates room, to no one, including staff, wearing a mask. It is also $10 whether you have your own skates or if you borrow their skates. I do not recommend this place.

David H.

Yelp
It is a really good skate rink . Today me and my family had went to this skating rink because who doesn't love skating ?! The only downside is that it closes at 4 pm and you can't take drinks or food so if you think of going keep in mind you are gonna have a absolute blast and I recommend going on Sunday because it's only 9 dollars and there is no skates rental fee ( usually 3 $ to rent skates ) so definitely one of the best skate rinks In Florida because they have the normal rink and a little beginners rink so I recommend this place 10/10 must go again

Alli T.

Yelp
We decided to try out this skate rink to beat summer boredom. It---didn't work. So, the rink itself is fine. Definitely a throwback to my childhood but it's well maintained. The shoes however, those are super sad looking with laces that barely lace due to shortness of length. They have a lot of arcade style games but also a ton of "play at your own risk. No refunds" signs which lead me to think they probably don't work well. The price of skating changes often. Their website is not helpful when inquiring about prices. Today it was $9 per skater but it may not be that every day. This location is definitely for children (or adults) that already know how to skate. There are no provisions at all for beginners, other than skates with tight wheels but good luck finding those. Other places have walkers for beginners but this location doesn't have that. Unfortunately for us that meant my kids couldn't skate at all. Theoretically, there's supposed to be a "kid rink" for the less experienced however on the day we went, it was overrun with older children that knew how to skate well and they were doing tricks and races. They're also overrun with many day camps currently. Which, again, if you know how to skate, not a big deal to have lots of unattended children who aren't following rules but if you have beginners like me, it's definitely difficult to navigate. If you KNOW how to skate, you'll like this place. Unfortunately for us it's not a good match and was just a waste of $18.

Lana E.

Yelp
I have never visited this rink but from what I've heard, the carpets and walls are the same as many many years ago. After hearing this, I have no complaints! The decor is vibrant and fun! I took my son here for the free skate hours. $9 for admission including skates. Not a bad deal. The music played was a great mixture of new and old jams. The rink itself was in awesome condition!!! The only downfall for me were the bathrooms. They were not clean and smelled pretty bad :-(

Sam B.

Yelp
Very sketchy. Was just picking up my kid from a birthday party and was told I could not go in without signing a liability waiver.  When I went in to get my kid anyway they freaked out like they were trying to hide something. I was worried about the safety of my child. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Michelle W.

Yelp
I love this place! The environment is so nice and a great community! Big skating floor and custom rink for beginners. Everyone is so nice there, DJs are awesome, and take song requests from the crowd!!! Would totally recommend this place to all roller skaters!

Dinosaur r.

Yelp
I used to love coming here but all that has changed, first they charge for kids who aren't even skating, second their customer service is rude, and reason three, they over charge their food, for 1 slice of pizza is about 4 dollars, I don't recommend at most stay away from this place

Tracie P.

Do not book a birthday party here unless you want to pay a premium price for a absolute horrible experience!!

Mayumi B.

Yelp
Fun place for kids. Kids love this place. Monday evening for my daughters 5th grade grad skating party. I have been here a few times before with kids. It's nothing fancy/special. it's just a fun skating place for everyone! DJ is good. Nothing to complain.

Mia P.

Yelp
Love love love this place! The skating rink floor here is gorgeous and there is such a sweet throw back vibe going on at Semoran Skateway. It's done so well! I've been here more times than I can count, but one thing is for sure about Semoran Skateway, you're going to get a workout from skating. You can bring your own "indoor" roller skates or rent them when you pay admission. This is great place to go on Friday through Sunday for a weekend activity or a date. Friday nights, Saturday day and evening, and Sunday day and evening are public skate times. Saturday night is "old school jamz" with some fun retro music playing (like "rap" and some Michael Jackson). Saturdays nights are my favorite. Sunday evening is adult night and you will see some amazing skaters here during that time. There are people skating backwards and even shuffle skating groups. It's really fun, but the adults who skate so well really roll by fast, they are seasoned pros. On Sundays stay in the middle of the rink if you're a beginner. If you're not up for getting into the main skating area right away there is a small beginner area in the back towards the snack bar area. You can get loose, warmed up, and practice all your moves there. Bring quarters for the lockers there since you can't take your purse, bag, and other loose items with you on to the skating rink. No mobile devices allowed in the rink, so leave them with a friend that is not skating or put them in a locker. There is a snack bar with pizza and soft drinks which is cash only. The food is simple but fine considering the atmosphere. Also there are some vintage style arcade video games towards the entrance, including some fine Ms. Pacman action here. More quarters will be needed! Overall this is my favorite roller skating place around and the interior of the building is so nicely preserved. It feels like walking into the 1970's-1980's era. If you know someone that has never been roller skating, take them here for a fun night out. Just bring clean socks and be safe. Also...no chewing gum allowed ;)

Meghan R.

Yelp
We went here on a Saturday night for Old School Jamz night. It was $8 to get in and $2 for skates. If you pay with cash you save 50 cents. You pick out your skates yourself, there are lockers you can use, and then you are off. We all took advantage of the beginner area in the back first since we hadn't been skating in awhile. I was surprised at the number of kids there on "old school" night and probably would have preferred an adults only night, but we still had a good time. Unfortunately while we were there I was knocked over by another skater and took a pretty nasty fall. The rink manager was there in no time making sure I was okay. They cleared the floor, got me up, and had ice to me before I even sat down. Even though that part wasn't fun and was pretty embarrassing, I was really impressed with our quickly the staff reacted to the situation. We will definitely be back for another night of skating... just maybe on a weeknight during the school year when there are less kids ;)

My hubby took me here on a date tonight - we are visiting from out of town - it was sooo much fun! Felt like a kid again & enjoyed seeing everyone there from every race and culture group enjoying themselves!
