Where to Eat, Stay, and Play in Mérida, Mexico

"The coffee at nearby Sempere is some of the best in town. Climb the stairs from the Plaza to this café-bookstore-boutique for a fabulous cortado or cold drink. A shaded chair and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice are available when the heat becomes intolerable."

One of the best cafe here. Nice location, lots of books (there are not a lot of cafes that are book themed in Merida as far as I know), reasonable price, and good jugo del dia. Def will come back

For me, the best flat white and the best cortado in town! Just the right flavor and an intense but not bitter or sour taste, milk alternatives are also available (oat milk). Totally recommend it! The nice add-on is the selection of board games that can be played for free while enjoying a coffee and a pastry.

Found this cafe on Google Maps when we had to kill time before checking into a room and it couldn't have been better - delicious coffee, air conditioning, and wifi. We had a flat white and cappuccino frio and both were very good!

Sorry but the coffee we had was really bad, it looked good but even the smell was bad. Not sure if they were having a bad day but I’m not going back

Love this place so much, it’s calm perfect to walk from here. The book store has subsume options which Yucatatecan authors as well as Mexican. If you are looking for a different read, this is your place. The food USA yummy, I can’t wait to be back.

This place is truly a hidden gem! Nestled on the second floor and tucked inside a bookstore, it offers a unique and cozy atmosphere. The latte was excellent, and my sandwich was perfectly crafted with an abundance of fresh vegetables!

Stopped by 20min before closing and they happily served my family and I. They have great espresso and I really enjoyed the sandwich recommended by the lovely woman who took our order. Perfect place to have a lunch + coffee and read.

This is a really lovely cafe; it is super calm and relaxing. People feel comfortable reading and working on laptops here as well as chatting. It offers a reprieve from the hot weather with air conditioning and the cutest little bookshop. A great place to come if you are from Australia (like me) and are craving a flat white and some sourdough toast. It definitely has hipster vibes.
